hey everybody it's Karina from prayer DM thrifts welcome back to my channel I have a kind of crazy story time to share with you guys today and also I just wanted to do this as like a warning because I've been noticing a lot of like sketchy things happening with my Poshmark packages lately and I just want to give you guys the heads up because as we are entering Q4 like this is the busiest time especially during the holidays for the Post Office for packages in general and we just don't want to get our packages messed with tampered with whatever so I have two separate stories that I want to share with you guys um first one probably you guys saw from the title but someone tried to scam me on Poshmark and this is the first time that this has ever happened to me in like seven years maybe even more longer I don't know how long it's been that I've been on Poshmark but in the time that I've been selling on Poshmark I have never had anyone else try to do this to me before so like I've obviously heard stories of it I've seen it happen to other people so I knew it was a thing it just had never happened to me and I did not expect really that this was how it was gonna happen anyway let's just get into it I had this pair of shoes listed in my closet and somebody made an offer while I was sleeping they sent an offer and then they canceled it but I woke up like maybe 30 minutes or 45 minutes after she had canceled so I sent her an offer even lower than what she had offered me because I you know I bought these shoes for really cheap I was fine with that profit if she wanted to take it and I sent her an even better offer and I said I left her message saying like hey if you're still interested in these shoes I sent you over an offer if you accept the offer I can ship it out today and she was like oh my God thank you so much and she accepted the offer I believe I want to say this could have been like a Saturday uh my post office is closed over the weekend so I wasn't able to ship out the item until Monday but I think I I like did something on Monday so I wasn't able to ship and anyway I was coming to like Tuesday but Monday morning she messages me and she asks if she could get updated tracking and I said oh I'm so sorry I haven't tried I haven't shipped it yet my post office is closed on the weekends so I'm going to ship it out to you as soon as possible when I do you will be notified when the tracking begins doesn't say anything else I want to say like a full day goes by and it's like close to the end of the day of the next day and she asks if she can cancel the sale because the item's not going to get to her in time I had like literally just dropped the package off at the post office and I said hey I'm so sorry I wish you would have let me know when you purchased that you were on a time crunch because I would have really prioritized getting your item out as soon as possible but unfortunately I already dropped the package off at the post office so I I can't I can't cancel it and then she didn't reply or anything she receives the package and she immediately opens up a case she says that the shoes are missing the sole inside of the shoe I'm gonna add photos so you guys can see and I was like so surprised at first I was like really racking my brain like oh my God like did I forget to put the soles in these shoes so I was like looking around my office like trying to figure out if I like dropped the souls but these aren't just ones that like slide out you have to like pull them out and so I was like there's no way there's no way so I like messaged her I was like Hey like I I shipped them with the I ship them with the soul intact I showed them exactly how they were photographed and she was like no you didn't like I received these um without the soul inside I want a refund and I was getting livid I was getting so mad I was like you know what this girl's probably upset because she didn't get the shoes when she wanted them to when she wanted them like how she was saying before that like they weren't gonna get her in time so she wanted to cancel the sale so I took to Instagram and I posted like the case and the argument that she was saying and I was like you guys like I know that I shipped this with the souls intact I I can't prove it I didn't record myself you know doing this all I can say is that like I shipped it with it intact like what do I do and everyone was telling me like this happens like this is why you should always record yourself when you're shipping items over a certain dollar amount and I was like there's no way I'm doing that like I I'm not I'm not doing that somebody told me actually that I can tell her that she's committing male fraud I don't know if that's actually true or not but I was like I can say that if she's using the mail system to like commit fraud which is kind of technically true she's lying about what's happening so I told her that I was like Hey listen you are not being honest about the condition that I sent you these shoes in and I don't know what you're trying to do but if you you know like send them to me in the condition that I sent them to you Poshmark will give you the refund I don't have your money I can't control it whatever said something and I was like I think you're just upset because I didn't get the shoes to you in time but you never told me that you were on a time crunch Poshmark allows this much time for me to ship the item so technically I did everything correctly I shipped within the allotted time frame I shipped them to in the in the condition that I photographed them in that I stated they were in and all of that and she was getting really upset she was like you can just refund me a partial refund for the cost of what new insoles would be and this was like literally the day that Poshmark came out with the partial refund thing and I feel like a lot of people are like scared that this exact thing is gonna happen but she wanted me to um credit her like thirty dollars I had these shoes originally listed for 150 I believe she sent an offer for like a hundred and then canceled and then I sent the offer for 80 and she accepted so she wanted to get credited 30 dollars more on top of the credit like on top of the discount that I already gave her I was just like are you actually joking me I'm asking because I enjoy them they're nicely broken in and would prefer not to return I wanted to give you an opera opportunity to not have to re-list them and have the hassle of that and blah blah blah and she was saying that Poshmark guarantees one to three day shipping and you took four days to ship and I was like Poshmark does like once it's anyway I was arguing with her back and forth I was trying to have like really good customer service but at the same time I was pissed because this lady was pretty much like saying that I was trying to scam her when she it was in fact the scammer anyway we were arguing arguing and I was like telling her like you literally just admitted that the shoes were broken and so you have the souls like they you admitted that that you have the souls and she was like no I didn't and I was like well you're committing mail fraud if you don't return the shoes to me in the way that I sent them out then I will be opening a case with USPS because you are lying and then she was like I want Poshmark to see on record that you're threatening me you've threatened me twice now blah blah blah and then she blocks me so I cannot respond back on the conversation message so I was just like you know what this I'm a Poshmark Ambassador too a good amount of people from Poshmark like know who I am that I'm like a that I'm a good seller that I'm an honest seller that I've been selling on the platform for a long time and usually like these return cases or these false cases Go My Way usually it works out in my favor but Poshmark approved the case and I got so pissed I like escalated it to Poshmark I was like this is not accurate I showed them all the screenshots of her asking to cancel the sale of all of the things and being like she has buyer's remorse she is damaging my items and I don't know like this is not fair like I I shouldn't have to do this I did everything right she is manipulating the system pretty much all of that and all they could tell me was that once a case is approved they cannot go back and unapprove it I have no idea if that's actually true or not but they told me to just wait for the package to get redelivered to me inspect it and make sure that it's okay and then like I can open a case on my end when I receive the item so I waited for the item to get shipped back to me I could not contact this woman because she blocked me on Poshmark so I just waited I got the package in it was in a way bigger box than I had originally sent so you girl decided to record myself opening up the package and if I have the video I will insert it here opening this return he did not return the correct items these are not what I sold her this is what's in the package she did not send the right item back but lo and behold she sent me a whole ass a different pair of shoes and so at the end of the day I ended up getting my money back I got this other pair of shoes that I just didn't even want to look at I was so pissed I like donated them because I was just like this is so ridiculous that you feel like you have to scam people to get shoes like I I'm pretty sure she still had to pay for the shoes like she didn't get her money back or anything I was just so like upset that Poshmark doesn't really reprimand the scammers if you think about reviews on Poshmark you can only see good reviews you cannot see if somebody cancels sales if somebody takes long to ship like you don't get to see any of that on Poshmark and that's something that I really wish they'd change I also wish that you would get marks on your account if you are out there scamming people and like trying to do things like this like it should be in the system that she is trying to scam me I tried to go into her profile because I was gonna go into a different account and try to message her but of course this woman changed her name and so it just it's just like so freaking Shady I'm going to share her username right here so that you guys will be aware of this seller I just don't want this to happen to anybody else and I'm not saying like just this person there's definitely a lot of other people probably during holiday season it's gonna like ramp up even more this whole like scamminess if I made a mistake when I shipped something out if I shipped you the wrong item if there was a flaw in it whatever I will eat the cost I mean like I don't even have to pay for the cost of the item to be returned to me on Poshmark so I just eat it I'll take it back if I marked it wrong whatever if I made the mistake then it's on me I take the sale back and I re-list it I resell it whatever but in this case when I know that I didn't do anything wrong it really really really really bothered me and it really really really really bothered me that Poshmark like approved the case in the first place I'm pretty sure they have some sort of like automated system where it just like automatically like maybe it's a robot maybe it's I AI or something that goes through the cases and like decides whether or not it should be approved or not I don't know I really don't know what the pro what the process is this is my assumption um but yeah that was really frustrating I don't know how it can be stopped but I really thought it was just like a normal person a normal person buying I thought I was being really nice by giving them a great deal they still felt the need to try to take advantage of all of this and all the situation but I'm really thankful that Poshmark you know ended up doing the right thing but that's my story of how I got scammed and this next story it's not really a story it's just like something that I've been noticing with my packages lately and I really want to like bring this to awareness to everybody because I only have one post office in my town I can't like Drive 50 minutes and go to like a different post office or whatever I only have one so when it gets really busy I don't want to stand in line and drop off my packages I also don't prefer to pick like schedule pickups I know that like everyone tells me to schedule pickups but it's just maybe when I go into my new store I will but as of right now it's just a little bit tough because I'm not always here and I don't want to leave my packages like outside like that's not gonna happen I have my office downtown I'm not gonna bring my items home either it's a whole thing so I usually just take my items to the post office and I drop them off on the counter because they already have labels on them I don't need to wait for them to get scanned or anything I just trust that it's gonna happen um because they haven't you know in the past things didn't really go wrong I always got my packages scanned in like that night and everything would go smoothly but I've been noticing in these past couple weeks the post office has not been scanning my packages in like that day sometimes packages will go days after I have dropped it off at the post office or we have like a little drop box right outside of my office right now and sometimes I'll put like poly mailers through there but I've noticed that sometimes they don't scan the packages in and it'll be days and I'll be like I'll have to go in and put like shipped but not tracking and then the buyers will ask me like where is my package what's going on I've been getting like nervous because I'm like okay like if it goes past the seven days even though I know that I ship the item they could cancel the sale and then I'm like kind of screwed right but I had this one specific package it has almost been a month I think since I initially shipped this package out it never started tracking I know for a fact that I put the label on it that I shipped it out I've hunted my whole office for this item but I know for a fact that I shipped it out I sent it to pop or I sent it with like a whole bunch of other packages to the post office dropped it off and everything for some reason everything else got scanned in everything else got delivered but this one package did not never started tracking nothing I tried to go into my post office and see like hey maybe I didn't put the label on it and maybe they still have it there because they've I've done that before and they've like held things for me they didn't have anything so I was like getting really nervous the buyer thanked the Lord that this buyer was like the most patient amazing understanding person ever and just like bless their heart because they were like the ideal situation that this could possibly be but they kept asking me like hey have you had a chance to like figure out where this package is I really want these jeans I kept saying like I'm so sorry like I dropped this off everything else that I shipped it with has been delivered and accepted I will try figuring it out again it went a couple weeks and then still nothing happened she reached out again so I like asked Posh support I was like Hey listen like things did not get it didn't get scanned it's still not tracking I'm not really sure what to do right now and they were like okay that's we understand that like USPS can sometimes like lose track lose shipments or whatever can you please provide a receipt or um something that shows that you dropped off the packages but I don't do that I don't wait in line and get receipts I don't schedule package pickups and get anything scanned or anything I just like drop my packages off and I was so nervous when I was like writing Poshmark support I was like I don't do the that like I just dropped my packages off at the counter so I don't have a receipt but I know that I shipped it out thank the Lord again like I just got really lucky in this situation I'm not gonna lie but they released my earnings and they refunded the buyer and they said like you know in the future if you can try to get like a receipt to prove that your items have been shipped it makes it a little bit easier and but for this time we will credit both of you guys and like I'm just like really you know lucky that that happened especially with such a a high ticket sale for me I know that you know I can sell things for more but 150 pair of jeans like that's that's a good a chunk of money to be like out on for the buyer as well so I'm like really nervous about just dropping packages off I have a couple packages that I know for a fact that I shipped out on Friday and they're still not scanned in there have been some packages that have literally been scanned in and then Mark delivered like within the matter of like five minutes so I don't know how they do this I don't know how packages even get like put into the shipping system if they don't get scanned in and the tracking doesn't start but it might just be that time it could just be super busy right now so all these packages are going through I'm just gonna have to schedule time out of my day now to really wait in line at the post office that's such a first world problem I get it and that's a lot of time for me to just sit there and then like wait for everything to get scanned in so I don't know what I'm gonna do yet I'm PR I mean until like I can be sure that my packages are actually going to get scanned in or until I move over there and can schedule like actual package pickups and know that they get scanned in um I'm probably gonna have to do that because I cannot risk my package is getting lost I don't want you guys to go through this drama either so whatever it can take for you guys to like make sure your packages are getting scanned in that the tracking is starting and all of that just like be cautious especially during holiday season during Q4 I don't know if this is actually true but somebody said that if something is in priority box like actual Priority Mail shipping supplies like whether it's a poly mail not the polymer whether it's like the Tyvek poly mailer or like the boxes then the USPS will like prioritize those more because their priority and should be like shipped faster versus like if you're shipping something in a box or in just like a regular poly mailer I don't know if that's actually true I I understand how it could like they would just keep their eye open for those think they know they'll have to like be shipped faster so I tried to ship as much as I can in the USPS packaging and that's all free too so it kind of it's like a win-win honestly but yes just be careful about how you guys are shipping things right now um be very diligent and on your packages if you do want to really cover your butt for potential scams make sure that you are recording yourself for the more higher ticker items like recording how you're packaging the items making sure there's no flaws if you are nervous that something like this could happen it adds into all the things that we have to do we already have to do so much when it comes to selling an item but I feel like just covering your butt a little bit in this day and age it's so sad that we have to even do this but you know protect yourself the more evidence that you have as a seller when people try to open up these cases the better I wish just having the status of like Poshmark Ambassador 2 meant something but apparently it doesn't really anyway that's it for my story time I hope you guys enjoyed I hope you guys just you know are a little bit more cautious now about how you're shipping things and just are aware in this busy mailing season that things are can go wrong they probably will go wrong just always like plan for the worst expect the worst and you know better things will happen but
