Sharpening Barber Scissors

hello today I'm going to show you how to sharpen barber scissors my barber asked me to sharpen his scissors for him so first I'm going to test how well do they cut and there's an easy test to do that you don't want to cut paper with barber scissors he's going to shoot me these are very expensive scissors you probably pay their own $400 for these scissors so it's meant to cut hair and hair only there is one exception you can cut wet tissue with it and this is how I'm going to test see how well see how sharp these scissors are so I'm going to take a piece of tissue paper and get it wet and let's see how it cuts now the scissors are all the way now you see when I pull it pairs the tissue see that it doesn't make a clean cut cut pull it rips it rips the tissue so I'm going to sharpen these scissors with my eight thousand grit Japanese whetstone I wouldn't go into coarser grit because these scissors are still very sharp but we're going to get them really sharp so it cuts hair much better because the the edge it doesn't need much to get it sharp so we're just going to do the 8,000 grit stone so I kind of get it a certain angle I'm used to because I've sharpened my barber scissors many times before and then and then as I do to stroke I kind of change the angle a bit steeper to make sure I go right to the edge of the blade okay we'll take the wet tissue test we'll do the test again perfect look at cut pull pull pull perfect perfect cut and you know it took me less than five minutes to sharpen the scissor so my barber will definitely be happy when he cuts hair with his scissors you
