'S GET A CHECK OF OUR LOCAL WEATHER. AND DAMON, UNFORTUNATELY, WE'RE ALSO BRACING FOR THE POTENTIAL OF SOME SEVERE WEATHER. YEAH, WE'RE UNDER A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER. ALL OF US ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA FOR TODAY. AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE THE WORST OF THAT WEATHER IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE MOVING THROUGH LATE THIS MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON. RIGHT NOW, THERE'S PLENTY OF OF SEVERE WEATHER POTENTIALLY SEVERE WEATHER JUST UP TO THE NORTH OF US MOVING ACROSS PARTS OF ARKANSAS AND MISSOURI. OTHER PARTS OF THE CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. FOR US RIGHT NOW, IT'S JUST THE CLOUD COVER THAT'S STREAMING IN FROM THE WEST. WE'VE GOT A FEW SHOWERS OUT THERE AS WELL, BUT NOT MUCH ACROSS THE AREA. SO AGAIN, A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER THAT INCLUDES HANCOCK AND PEARL RIVER COUNTIES FOR TODAY. RIGHT NOW THE WINDS WINDS HAVE BEEN PRETTY STRONG FOR MOST OF THE WEEKEND. THEY'RE BLOWING AT 5 TO 15MPH RIGHT NOW. AND I'M EXPECTING STRONG WINDS THIS AFTERNOON AS THAT LINE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS MOVES THROUGH THE AREA. WE'VE GOT THAT COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY THAT'S IN EFFECT, THE SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR THE LAKES AND THE COASTAL AREAS. AND THAT'S UNTIL 9 A.M., THE COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY UNTIL 7 P.M. TONIGHT. AND WE'VE GOT A SLIGHT RISK OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL THAT COULD LEAD TO SOME MEASURE OF FLASH FLOODING. THAT'S IN EFFECT FOR TODAY AS WELL. SO WE'RE EXPECTING SOME PRETTY STRONG STORMS THAT ARE GOING TO DROP A LOT OF RAINFALL IN THE SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. BUT PROBABLY NOT AS INTENSE AS WHAT'S HAPPENING JUST OFF TO THE WEST OF US. A CHANCE A MARGINAL RISK OF TORNADIC ACTIVITY, LIKE A 2% CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING FOR TODAY. AND WE'VE GOT THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA THAT'S TO THE WEST OF US, WHERE THE WORST THE WEATHER IS RIGHT NOW. AND THAT'S UNTIL 9 A.M. THIS MORNING. UH, NOTHING LIKE THAT OVER OUR HEADS. RIGHT NOW. BUT WE DO HAVE SOME RAINFALL MOVING ACROSS PARTS OF WASHINGTON AND SAINT TAMMANY PARISHES. LET ME PUT THE MODEL, THE HIGH RESOLUTION MODEL, INTO MOTION. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT MOST OF THE MORNING THERE'S NOT MUCH ACTIVITY. OTHER THAN WHAT WE'VE GOT RIGHT NOW THAT TYPE OF RAINFALL WITH US, IT STARTS GETTING PRETTY BAD AS WE GO INTO THE LATE MORNING HOURS. YOU KNOW, 11:11 A.M. ISH. AND THAT THAT'S WHEN THAT LINE STARTS SWEEPING THROUGH THE AREA. THIS BOW IS AN INDICATION OF SOME OF THE STRONG WINDS THAT ARE GOING TO COME WITH SOME PRETTY INTENSE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IN SOME PARTS OF THE AREA. 1:00 TWO 3:00 THAT LINE, THE WORST OF IT IS TO THE EAST OF US BY THAT TIME LEAVING BEHIND SOME SCATTERED RAINFALL AT THE THREE AND FOUR AND 5 P.M. TIME FRAME. THEN IT LOOKS LIKE WE'RE ALL DONE WITH IT BY ABOUT 6 OR 7 P.M. TUESDAY IS LOOKING LIKE A PRETTY GOOD DAY, WITH THE SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAINFALL IN THE FORECAST AND THEN A LITTLE BIT OF RAINFALL ON WEDNESDAY AS WELL, BUT NOT MUCH. HOW MUCH RAIN ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? THIS MODEL SAYS HALF AN INCH TO AN INCH AND A HALF ACROSS. MOST OF THE AREA. BUT PARTS OF THE NORTH SHORE MAYBE DOWN TOWARDS TERREBONNE PARISH, UH, AN INCH AND A HALF TO 2.5IN OF POSSIBILITY. BUT THE WORST OF THE RAIN IS BACK TO THE WEST OF US TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW ARE IN THE LOW TO MID 70S ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA. WE'RE PROBABLY GOING TO BE IN THE 80S BY 11 A.M., AND THIS MODEL, LIKE THE OTHER ONES, SHOWING THAT OUR RAINFALL CHANCES START PICKING UP LATE MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON, SOME PRETTY INTENSE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WITH US AS WE GO INTO THREE, FOUR, 5 P.M. THIS AFTERNOON. AND THEN BY 7 P.M., MOST OF THAT ACTIVITY IS DISSIPATING AND WELL TO THE EAST OF US AT THAT TIME. AND THE PRETTY QUIET NIGHT WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME RAINFALL IN THE THE MORNING HOURS. A COUPLE OF SPOTTY SHOWERS, BUT NOT MORE THAN THAT. AND THEN YOUR AFTERNOON HIGHS FOR TUESDAY IN THE MID 80S. AND WE MAY BE A LITTLE BIT WARMER AS WE GO INTO WEDNESDAY. SO HERE'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON OUR WDSU. FIRST WARNING SEVEN DAY FORECAST. UH, BIG CHANCE OF RAINFALL TODAY WITH THAT WEATHER IMPACT DAY. A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER. IT'S A PRETTY GOOD WEATHER FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS AND LOOKS LIKE THE BIGGEST RAIN. CHANCE FOR JAZZ FEST IS GOING TO BE ON
