SEO is Dead in 2024

in 2024 I think SEO is dead and I'm not going to just talk about why I want to show you why I don't think it actually works anymore two things I want to clarify first a lot of this is dependent on what is your Market size so how many people could potentially be buyers and then what is your industry and how competitive is it so are a lot of people doing it where you are at and so if you can answer those two things clearly then I think it will decide whether you should do SEO or not I think for a lot of people you actually don't need to be doing it anymore but I know this is controversial so I just want to go ahead and show you why I think that and not just talk about a bunch of words if you're interested in this kind of stuff subscribe comment do you hate this or not or do you also agree that SEO is kind of falling off the wagon and so for the last 10 years Google has been doing a lot of different things in how it is uh building its user experience it has been molding it a lot and I would like to say they've been changing it for their dollar and for their benefit so over the last 10 years what they've been telling you to do is create valuable content that is unique and authentic and that is put in lists and that is using specific keywords that's really helpful for Google to find it and give it and serve it to the person searching what I actually think that they've been doing is building up this library of information so they know no longer need to send anyone to your website so let's go ahead and do attorney in Baton Rouge now let's say that you've been working on your SEO for years and you've been paying an SEO company5 to $6,000 a month well somebody just paid a couple dollars to outrank you and so that's what this sponsored section is Google screened yeah yeah so we're going to going to go down now this is where SEO can matter in your Google reviews but I'm going to go to a later example of how that this can be helpful and beneficial for your company but not for your website so just so this it looks like a directory yep uh Yelp I would consider that a directory so once again they're not serving anyone anyone's website I love this so what I said Google has been asking you to give them answers in a certain way so they can scrape your website and not give you any AD Revenue that then they would probably be serving to you and how do they do that they just scrape it and then give the person the answer before they even go onto the website cool yeah now I don't have to go to any of these websites and I don't get to know who any of them are yeah I can get most of my answers right here perfect thank you for doing that for me in an effort to build your SEO and look how many answer look how much it scraped how many different websites did it just take from and serve so that people would stay on Google and not go to your website okay directory directory finally the first person who is ranked that's not a directory or that has not paid okay I only had to go down halfway through the page and of course we know on mobile it's even more of a scroll than this and so finally we have working oh someone still buying spots even in the middle of the page they're just not paying as much so I mentioned previously about how Google actually doesn't want people going on other people's websites anymore they actually just want them to stay on Google so that they can continue to make money let me show you how so let's do tie food near me awesome they've served me these places this isn't sponsored so you know this restaurant this Thai restaurant has done their due diligence to make it so that Google can serve their information let me go to their website wait I didn't go to their website here's all the photos that they've already given Google oh here's the phone number here's the menu directions I can call I can do all of this without going to their website now this is great for the customer but if you are building your brand and your website and you've spent a lot of money on it Google's like ah we'll just take all the we'll don't worry about it we will give a seamless customer experience but it is at your expense and so yes this is beneficial to industries that typically have lower margins and that can't afford to be paying a lot of money in SEO like the restaurant business you're not going to have a lot of sponsored things and keywords for local restaurants because the margins are what 5 to 8% and so so they don't have a lot to spend on Advertising they can't be doing this on a regular basis and so reviews and they really need Google to do this kind of thing but you better be in top three because I don't see any more in top three I can click more more sure but that's what they're being served to me so let's go ahead and do an example of when it would be good to do SEO so let's try and do something that's a little bit more obscure or a little bit more niched down that would benefit from SEO so custom jewelry there's a lot of money in jewelry so there still might be some sponsored stuff oh man I hope you didn't spend a lot of money on SEO sponsored sponsored sponsored sponsored okay you got some good well that person does I don't know why they're there maybe they did SEO right finally this is the shortest we have had to scroll to get somebody who has done SEO well and I think it's because they have literally put the locations in their URL so that will definitely always help if you put the name of the town that you live in cuz here we go directory so here's name of towns once again no brand like Castle Rock and jewelry if that's the name of your company you're not looking to expand outside of cck up served information Rock jewelry CR a k store Special K locations I mean there's not a single like K jewelries and Zales are the only brand of jewelry here everything is location jewelry is their URL which means that you can't expand which means that you're limit you have a very limited market Lakewood Jewelers what you don't see is brands that are near me that are not named the town finally oh it's sponsored oh it happens up sponsored permanent jewelry there we go Victoria Mary jewelry this is a brand that could choose to ex go outside of Castle Rock Colorado and you are so far down the page it's just I just feel bad for businesses 10 years ago if you had used an SEO strategy you you would have been fine it and it and it did work I'm not I'm I'm speaking of somebody who has used SEO strategy but Google is taking all the information from your website serving it to the customer before they even get there or someone's just paying for the spot so those thousands of dollars or maybe not even the thousands of dollars maybe you're doing it on your own maybe you are the one who is trying to knock out a Blog a week or something like that Google is not serving you well they are forcing you into their ecosystem which now is not valuing SEO that much if I was just trying to do quick and dirty SEO I would just make a ton of lists that answer specific questions and that be my blog post cuz I mean it's crazy it's crazy right that Google's literally scraping your website and being like here don't bother going to this website so we've talked a lot about why I think SEO is dead so what's the alternative to it and of course if you've been a part of this channel you know that I'm going to say content marketing or content strategy you need to be creating video content and in a way that brings value so that people come into your doors and Google is actually promoting this strategy right now so what a lot of people don't realize is that Google is the number one search engine yes YouTube is the second biggest search engine it is the second most popular site in the world I believe the most recent statistic is that one of every two people in the world go on YouTube at least once a month it's kind of silly it's kind of crazy but let me show you how this pure search engine allows you to promote yourself without all of the paid strategy stuff without having to spend all the extra dollars in doing it how to start a college fund the reason why I'm putting this in is maybe you're an attorney that specializes in setting up savings accounts look we have Dave Ramsey also been doing content for over a decade if you follow any of his financial strategies maybe you should follow his marketing strategy too and look at all of these people who are delivering advice 529 plan that's a great plan if you're looking to save money in the future for your child so that's what they're talking about so obviously Ramsay has a lot of these spaces but with that you have a lot of people that are delivering content that is relatable to this topic and so what is your Niche put it in YouTube and you'd be surprised at what what content may or may not be there and maybe that's how you get into the market and how you can benefit and grow your business through content marketing unless you want to keep paying all of the high dollars for your for your SEO company or spending money on Google ads which I think is great and if you're in a competitive market in a large Market size you're going to have to do that a part of it you should also be thinking about content marketing as well so put in the comments what do you think of SEO do you think content marketing is
