Semi salvage yard hunting for the 379 Pete!!!

what's going on guys welcome back to the gns trucking youtube channel i hope you guys are having a good day we're definitely having a good one here i woke up this morning and we have almost 67 000 subs and like i i've got to thank you guys once again we couldn't be doing this without you guys y'all are actually the rock stars in this situation i know everybody believes in me and thinks i'm a rock star but the truth is i couldn't have this opportunity without y'all and my family and i are so appreciative for everything i mean just to have this opportunity in life is just phenomenal it takes a lot of hard work youtube is another full-time job for me but it's worth it i mean it's definitely definitely worth it so that being said i've got a pretty cool deal going on for you guys i've been really working my butt off all these big moves all of the trades all the crazy stuff i've been doing is all paying off because we're finally getting some money up to where we can start doing some projects getting these things completed so after race week i'm done i will not be on the road until two trucks are finished i've got dad's got all the maintenance under control down the shop i'm getting ready to move two trucks down there right now the marine cab over and this peterbilt so some way somehow i've ended up with this peterbilt we got this truck for travis and some stuffs went on and i give him an opportunity to get in a truck and i ended up with this one so this is a lot of work it's going to take a long time for him to be able to drive this truck and actually use it and a lot of money that helmer i mean i didn't have the money just to put it all forward and the time frame and all that stuff it was just going to take too long so uh we worked out a deal and i ended up with this truck so we're getting ready to go up to john stories which is one of the salvage yards that i use pretty much on a daily basis i mean all my trucks get his parts put on them he's the only salvage yard i know it keeps late model stuff and and older model stuff like anything you need this guy's usually got it so i've done hit him up he's got a truck up there i want to go look at that should have all the parts that i need to finish this truck up to get it on the road that's not going to be the paint but it will get it running and driving and the truck's only got like 50 000 miles on the rear ends um i forgot what he said the train i think the transmission was pretty new as well but the motor's got a hole in it it's got a hole in the side of the block so i've got to get a motor for it and he's got a motor up there i think it's a 6nz that's what he said and i need to see if this is a 40 pin or 70 pin acm so um i'm going to swap it over to a 6nz if the deal works out between me and john and uh it's going to have all the interior parts that i need like for the dash all that stuff i'm going to put a new dash in it and more my main concern right now is just getting it running and driving getting it out of the mess that it's in right now i've got to find a stack for it that one's all crushed up um and a hood and throw a paint job on it but i mean i'm not going to put no big special paint job on it i can just put one on it i didn't even notice that before i have to check that out looks like some corrosion right there so we're gonna go up to john's story see if we got some parts um to get this truck running and we gotta get this thing down to the shop and get started on i was going to put a detroit in it but since he's got that 6nz i think we'll go that route and just get it i mean just a direct swap is going to be much easier than doing a detroit swap so um on to the next truck the cab over so guys this truck is in actually pretty phenomenal shape um the tanks took a little damage loading it up in the step and stuff but i'll straighten that up i got to put some wheels and tires on and throw a transmission in it and get it cleaned up but this truck ain't gonna take a whole lot to get on the road so um i'm gonna use this thing as my single axle truck i've got a new trailer coming it's a 53-foot aluminum trailer it's like a it's a wedge type trailer but it's not so it's got like an angle coming up it and then it like flattens out you can pull it with a dually or you can pull it with a big truck um but like a single axle truck like this freightliner will be perfect with that trailer now they're really cool trailers we're still another six weeks out on getting it but it's got like a tongue in the middle of it with balls and the winch so you can actually pull trailers up on it it's actually for pulling campers and stuff and but i'm going to use it to pull boats and campers and pull up behind the dooley and i'll probably that's what this truck is going to be for is pulling that trailer so i'm going to pull the marine truck down to the shop we're gonna put a motor in that thing next week as soon as i get back from race week that truck's getting a motor put in it and then uh we'll be getting started on this truck as well so guys let's get on up to john's stories check out what he's got i love going to that salvage yard and checking all his stuff out so let's go on up there and see what we can come up with if we get a motor all right guys so we made it up here to jon's stories of man already in heaven i love this place i absolutely love it so so our plans like i said we're going to build this peterbilt completely what the heck hold on we gotta check this deal out hey once you get it on the trailer you can spin it around maybe uh this is gonna be a good video so he just sold that thing to this fella uh caught on fire the battery sorted out caught on fire burnt the inside of the cab it's not going to be a big fix like i wish i would have knew it was here for sale before this guy bought it that's it man have twenty thousand dollars in a hundred and twenty thousand dollar machine that's a jcb 300t that's a big boy forestry package everything 125 horse that's a bad boy so guys the goal here and the plan is i'm gonna get with john and we're going to take that peterbilt and completely build that truck out of this scrapyard every part that goes on that truck will be bought from this junkyard and put on that peter bill so i want to do a complete budget build i want to try to have that truck completely done and have less than 25 000 in it and that's me painting it the whole nine yards so i want to do kind of like a budget build 25 000 truck um that's including buying the truck the whole nine yards because these trucks are going for like 50 60 70 000 now and that's an old four model truck we'll definitely be putting a 2000 pre-2000 motor in it whether it's detroit or a cat but there's john now let's let's see i'm back how you doing good buddy i see you sold your jcb out there yeah my phone was ringing of course i apologize go ahead go ahead and take pam wrist like everyone else so what i got in mind is i bought a peterbilt it's uh i don't know if you've been on the channel but it's the one i went toward back from north carolina it's a 0-4 it's got a cat in it got a hole in the side of the block the truck's only got like 50 000 miles on the whole drive train um it's got hood damage the interior's kind of jacked up and donated a motor so i was going to switch it over to detroit but i've noticed you got some cats in here well i've got caterpillars and then i just had a 379 come in with a 6nz 18 speed it's complete got 46 rears 411 on air track suspension that's everything i need there it's there is everything you need it's sitting right back and look at it you go ahead and help yourself you want to look at that all right guys so let's go back here and look at this truck john's got a whole yard full of people out there he's want to do a video with me but i told him i can i can look at the truck while he deals with his customers his customers come first this deal ain't too crazy so there it is well guys this is exactly what i've got actually suspension oh that sleeper look at that sleeper got a set of stacks on it to replace those that i got all bent up look got for interior another door's locked [Music] six nz c15 there's a motor the hood's all jacked up we need another hood but both stacks look good i would definitely be replacing those stacks with these [Music] i want to see the insides it looks like they took their seats out of it oh the seats are still in it there's a good dash though that's the dash that we need [Music] man there's a lot of good parts here [Music] so i think we definitely found us a parts truck i told you guys when i get up here it's like being in heaven so we found some stacks maybe even you want to use this sleeper and cab like i'm really thinking maybe to switch the whole cab sleeper and the whole nine yards over is the only damage is on the front which it looks like a i don't know if there's a long nose truck or what but i just put this cab on it put that sleeper on it and then give me a red hood there's a 6 in z to go in it so there's the whole nine yards so i guess what we'll do we'll go up here and talk to him and see what kind of price we can get on the whole truck actually and is that right there that would be percent of the parts we need all we have left is a hood [Music] got ken wurst a good-looking kenworth so guys if you've got internationals if you've got i mean oh look the giveaway truck right there's the twin to it right there you get some parts off that deal kenworth aerocabs cascadias freightliners if you need radiators it don't matter if you need anything it's here at this junkyard and i don't know if you guys remember the first video that i've done up here but he really really really has come a long way he loves the fans he follows the youtube channel he follows us on facebook and instagram so john's always been there for us anytime i call him he's right on it he really takes care of his customers no matter what oh man i see a little ding in that stack ah that sucks well there's the same size as the uh the peterbilt we got is saints driver's side i'm really having a toss-up guys i don't know if i want to put a detroit in that peterbilt or just go back with a cat but that cab's in really good shape i really wouldn't care stick the whole cab on it look at this cams we got detroit's isx's there's a 5vk over here i know this was a good motor i remember the truck it come out of he had a price at 8 500 bucks i mean jeez where you gonna buy a motor for 8 500 bucks running ready to go volvo motor is x he's got detroit's ain't got many detroit's because everybody's running the crap out of them now another cat c15 check the e model what is this deal i guess that's what they call dd15 i believe that's a dd15 it could be wrong but i'm pretty sure it is another e-model motor so another 5bk for 8 500 bucks is x's volvo oh look right here is a dang b model motor b model there's no oh that's an m11 you don't see them much anymore there's definitely got a variety of motors here another is x ooh there's an m14 what are we wanting for the n14 it's blacktop how many good motors i did have one of these motors for a little while uh rear ends so you've got any rear end ratio you want right here's where they rebuilt the transmissions and they goes through them he completely goes back through puts bearings in them gets them completely rebuilt but guys let's go look he's got a bunch more peterbilts let's go look for some more parts oh dang they got it on there i missed it that sucks so we got some more peter belts out here i really want to find a really good cabin sleeper that one looks like it's had a rough life that one looks like it's had a rough life there's a good sleeper suspension there's a roll of volvos there's no fld sitting out there stand up good lord look at this w900 that's a good looking truck i must have just bought this got cummins in it so found a couple cabs there's a good looking truck yep i really think that red one's gonna be the candidate though guys so while we're here we gotta find some so this compressor you can see somebody used to work for me crosstalk did that and cross-started every one of these bolt holes every single one of them so air conditioner went out this compressor is under warranty at freightliner but this is kind of our fault the reason it was done that way so i can't really go ask him to warrant it out i might see if he has one here um the century i need to find a shifter for this entry oh see what else do you want the rest of stuff i can get from parts store freightliner somewhere like that so we do need to find that shifter while we're here what does that offer of a century a 99th century surely we see the best way to go out of a 99 century oh shoot i sure we can't get that lucky you know but i know right it looks like the same bin though i don't know what's going on or i don't know i think it is you need the knob and everything though don't you wouldn't get you no but i'd like to have the whole deal let's make it dirty yeah my knob i think well more pull them out because they get that way you know yeah that was one but they welded something to it um kind of looks like a man too [Music] yeah i'm good with this one okay you need all that i'll take the whole deal yeah crap that's on it yep i'll take the whole deal that's where they ran the to run your airlines straight up inside the tube okay oh that one's like it too all right i can just get a new shifter knob hey you got everything in here yeah you're really getting it organized around here ain't you trying to yeah i don't know if this is organized but headlights and you know your mirrors compared to most scrap yards is pretty organized classic hoods and everything i wonder why i had plugs like that i don't know they're usually airlines and then you did they make them electronic coulda i guess i'll be taking all that crap out and putting airlines through though all right guys so i think we come up with a plan on the red peterbilt i think we're going to team up with mr story here and uh try to put that truck together it's going to take some time but so probably two or three videos here with john um he is super busy i don't know if y'all seen it here in the parking lot but he has been slammed today and it's like it's everyday in it we got a few every day it's like this and that's good we've been blessed by god yeah and phones are ringing you bear with me just one second okay go ahead i know i'll just call these people back okay we call them back so guys if y'all a lot of you guys reached out to john last time we did a video up here um and i've been meaning to get back up here to do a video and because i buy parts here all the time i've always sent my guys up here to get parts like my fleet pretty much lives off this place and just because he keeps good parts and y'all seen all the organization and i mean for a scrap yard or like would you be considered a scrap yard or a salvage yard salvage yard that was yard it just rebuilt transmissions rebuilt rear ends engines are all late model and uh we that's exactly what i'm looking for i'll give them a call can we go thank a fellow looking for a rocker box for a dd15 see like that right there it's hard to find people that'll give you that yeah they're really they are and we have them in stock and today we got in a uh you saw the peterbilt yeah with the 6nz and then i also got in a 389 with a is x got in a mac with a e7 and with camelback suspension on back got in a day cab uh 379 with 46 rears uh 411 rear end so we got constantly got trucks coming in and the outflow continues to go out the door which is what we're here for all right good news the assortment of stuff is what i love about this place you guys you treat you like your family i've never come up here and not felt like i'm family with him his wife his daughter nate as his son-in-law i mean if you call up here you're probably gonna have to either deal with john or nate that's another thing to be such a big company nine times out of ten you're going to deal with john or nate i mean literally yeah yeah we're going to take care of them yeah so uh so this will be continued we'll be up here getting parts for the peterbilt um we'll decide whether we're going to go with the detroiter we're going to use that 6nz out of that truck but we're gonna make it a quick deal and try to get it done and and john's been kind enough to help me out with the whole deal so thank you um man i really appreciate you john and thank all you all for dealing with me i appreciate it yeah it's awesome i mean we've got people here now from georgia north carolina been broke guys and when i first started my company i mean i had this old peterbilt that just i could not keep running this thing had ecm problems wiring problems because you went through five gallons a whole week and i'd be out there and the poor and cold rain trying to get this thing running my engine's getting filled full of water like the whole nine yards i've been out here on the side of the road out here changing injectors in it before john has always no matter what whether it's coming up here for five dollars or for five thousand dollars he's always been there for me that's that's one thing i really like about this place so i'm pretty excited about this deal especially that we've got this truck here like it's just meant to be so i just i really want to build a peterbilt i really want to get the cab overs done but that peter built can be put on the road and put a driver in it pretty quickly and get to making some money i'm not really want to put a bunch of drivers in the cab overs so this is something me and dad can do as a project together braxton can help out it's really easy to get parts for the peterbilt i mean look right here we just found a cab and a sleeper right here easy bam bam motor the whole nine yards we can have that truck up and running in a couple weeks so let's see how it works out i got race week coming up i'm actually getting on an airplane tonight by the time y'all see this video to be tonight um and flying out cletus is gonna pick me up from the airport i'm gonna go get the toter and we are headed to kansas for race week so if you guys want to
