um I I will say is that the you are what you eat yes you are what you e the twin experiment skewed yeah oh no no no so mind you by the end and we're really enjoying it it's it's a short watch it's only four episodes and by the end I got I looked at Antonette and I said this is from a biased lens and I don't know how because by episode too I really was like meat cows I won't do it again fish I don't like farm raised fish anyway so I'm like watching it but then by the end I was like they're not providing both sides of the story here and I feel like this is there's an agenda yeah did all right there was an agenda I mean they did they showed us how people on the meat diet fared versus the vegan diet I think they were just trying to prove that on a vegan diet you can you know build muscle mass like it it is a healthy yeah way to a healthy choice but um they did not talk about the pesticides no which which you and I watched and we never got to talk about um on on the Pod and we've been so Bridget and I both ended up watching poisoned which is also on Netflix and it talks about the eoli and things that go into the and salmonella I hate that for us and so there but also discussed with the CDC and the FDA about poison I got to watch pois but it discusses like all trying to everybody finger points everybody's trying to figure out like who is actually responsible for which part of which process that leads to the outbreaks can we be very clear though we got to blame the cows the cows is actually first I didn't know it's the humans well well I mean them two but we I'm just saying we got cows these cows they just these cows is really messing us up what okay wait I didn't go down because the cows is what be they be [ __ ] and then when it rains the water Chi too remember yeah they crawling on each other cuz we're putting them in these chicken farms there's millions of them in like a room like this yeah and y'all got to go on on uh our patreon because we became because I used to take eggs and put them in my sock drawer and think that they would hatch I swear okay so I I was a weird child so I was just notified let me let me draw the comparison cuz I was like [ __ ] we eating period eggs so you know how we have millions of eggs as women when we're born and through our periods those eggs get released but we can't see them with our eye so chickens do the same in order to even become an actual chicken it has has to be fertilized by a sperm so when they're in these CPS those are eggs that are going to get laid because the same way we're going to lay our eggs and have a period whether we [ __ ] or not or of course I'm just saying you know what I mean I'm trying to make it relatable here dissertation baby I was so mind blown I thought as well every egg would become a chicken and so we're High we ate shrooms going to eat all this [ __ ] vegetables for $1,000 oh my God I went so y'all you got to yeah we talked about it but girl mind you we spent so much the the waiter came out and was like would you guys like tear coffee so when we get ready to start thinking about how much this tab is going to be I'm like okay well we both had a drink you had a coffee out of tea she said he asked me if I wanted coffee or tea I said and did you think it was free I guess she thought because we were spending so much money that something would be included something would be included something is a part of this presentation I know and it it didn't but it was also interesting too because I wanted honey in my tea they didn't even have honey because it's from bees so it's completely plant-based but no we ended up having all these conversations about just meat dairy products all the things and yeah I was today years old when I found out that all eggs did not turn into chickens shout out to shout out we were Googling it h I was so shocked because I've also tried Balo so when you're in go now so when you're in which is crazy is the difference so when you're in like southeast Asia one of the Delicacies for high protein a high protein meal is Balo Belo is normally about it so it's a fertilized egg that you normally eat and it's about 30 days old unhatched so they literally just make them like and sell them and it looks like a boiled egg but there's a crunch they harvest them ESS yeah but then they crunch in the middle because the beak is formed the feathers are formed it's it's actually a duck form yeah so blue if you are in Southeast Asia it's interesting because also like you crack open the top you slurp the juice out and then you eat it like a regular egges it tast they put so it it ate like an egg at first like it got a little like you pour a little vinegar and salt and pepper on the top of it kind of like you would a boiled egg and then it's like oh it's a it's a boiled egg it's it's like a gray color on the outside instead of white and so you eat it and um once you get to where the yolk normally is once once I started crunching and one of the other people that was with me ate it as well sorry for all of you animal lovers this is probably graphic and sorry if you're eating lunch but the person across from me when they got to the middle you saw the you kind of saw the you want to show her a picture of it no thank you don't want to see a picture of it can't believe you ate yeah I did you know talked about where we're going with technology the world we see people are now having relationships with their sex dolls and robots we see that people are being deemed as plagiarist due to AI um what is this that you saw and you were like let's bring this thing to the Pod so I really love this because um cuz I'm old and I suck at technology if I'm being honest I am absolutely terrible with technology and I realized that like certain certain updates will automatically give you features that you didn't ask for and things that you just might feel like are useless like this new update gave us something called Journal which essentially is the same thing as notes have yall seen that on theone there's a new app called a new app that just came with the update called Journal that I want to download my apps don't force them I hate the forcing app so it's a Force app TJ you could can you give us some background on Journal are you familiar sorry we have a our resent our resent our resident Apple Steve Jobs intern all right TJ TJ jobs speak up speak up and talk the mic please the mic is like all the way over here so pretty much the no well you still still get closer to the mic can't back up pretty much this is better the journal app is just like something to kind of like how they say it is is like to help with your mental health um on like more of like a because we're all on our phones so like journaling what's the difference between that and notes though we could journal in notes well this one is geared towards that and habits so you can you can set notifications us on the phone longer to journal that that's what it is yes start your yeah create your personal Journal so if you hit the plus button right you can select them moment to right it'll send you video pictures is why all these pickle juice recipes be showing up on Instagram cuz I talk about picklebacks with everybody I be out with people like let's get picklebacks and so I didn't realize they were putting pickle juice in so many recipes and I don't know why y'all keep sending it to me I don't want to make I don't want to eat pickle juice ice cream I don't want to make it I don't want to make pickle juice pasta I don't want to make pickle juice dressing it's giving all the things they were doing a salmon I told you they was braid and salmon it was bacon salmon salmon every way which now y'all got to watch that documentary so now these apps now this all this text stuff has been really like it's a little bit it's either exciting or unnerving I feel like it's one of the other for the most part but there was a graphic designer who has a who who posted a thread on Twitter about different features basically posed the question what features might be cool for for you to have and so I'm going to just read you a couple of them that he brought up one is the face ID but it takes screenshots if it recog izes that it's not you so if somebody else get say you get your phone St you leave your phone somewhere and they're trying to open it or trying to put in the password or whatever with the face ID they take a screenshot of it so they know when somebody trying to I'm thinking about how ugly the screenshots are cuz you're like you know you know it's giving you three Nicks it's like Fortune although I will say uh TJ said that this feature has actually by the way any Android listeners are like you iPhone [ __ ] we been had that apparently this was a feature that Android had already Yes okay so this was a feature that Android had good to know but you know they living a different life in metaverse than us iPhone users so another one is find my iPhone but it lets you know how often your friends check your location so like if you have your if you're like sharing a location with somebody they can see I check your location all the time you do uhhuh oh y'all should I have yours I mean i' be at home oh I'm like y' be on the road I have everyone she forced me she said I have every I don't even think she wait no but also she she said and share it indefinitely yeah she has it I took her phone and did it cuz she travels so much by herself I want to know where she is Mom okay I know like look at these are all the people whose location that I have Jesus okay I don't play I need to know that they're okay okay I'm not well hold I know hold on can we also say just a continuation from up for this and if it was like a program within the app that that the artist was a part they can't release it and stuff like I don't like that just to listen just to listen to it if it was a premium thing that you could do and the and the artist whose voice you wanted to but it would have to be predetermined you wouldn't be able to like swap different artists if you want to you would have to pay for a specific specific artist voice I would be cool with that is there is there any other things that currently do not exist that you wish existed with technology or apps or features I want my alarm clock to to not go off or to like bother me in some kind of way until I work out so like if I have a Apple watch and the alarm goes off I have to reach the set goal that's crazy in order for it that sounds annoying I know but like I need or like some kind of it's going to keep buzzing until it's like you ain't do it you ain't do it you ain't do it I actually like that a lot with if you were on the phone and you were on social media if there was an actual limit to how much you could be on social media that probably exists where shuts your app down like you're done well you well yeah you can set it yourself but that to me is pointless setting it yourself doesn't mean anything because you can go in and automat like you can undo it like there's a time you can the time limit you don't want to control well I would I would like the idea I would like it to be like an like to to answer nette's Point like an earning system you have to utilize e you have to utilize some educational app or Wellness app finish the reading you got to finish something in order for you to access social media for more than 5 hours a day we're very like we have no self-c control no self control it's just called discipline but also what it's giving is y'all want these a the you want technology to essentially be in control and I don't like that that's what it's given you don't get to do this until I say you do this like even allowing technology certain things because social media I'm like no it's given you should go to therapy and work on so one of the one of the other ones one of the other ones is is on calls but it lets you show it lets you know if they're looking at another app while talking to you I like that I'm a multitasker yeah I'm like I I'm don't do that don't do that I was doing work I was doing work when you was just trying to talk to me I'm a multitasker for something the crazy is girl I tell you the most personal stuff and I hear and I'm like I just stop like all right she's like what are you doing and then there's a long there's like a two second pause before she responds and I'm like you're doing something she's like hold on I got email my bad and I'm like whatever I can't this one I love contacts but it shows what other people have you saved as I only need I want to know what I'm saved as in people's phones that's all you got to do is call them in front of you that's true call yourself call call them you I guess I just think it's funny to see that and then the other one which I think is [ __ ] comedy IM message but it exposes when someone lies if they text soul and she puts her makeup on and there's makeup on her fingers and she goes in the bathroom and I just see brown brown brown brown and then I look and I'm sitting on my toilet and and I look at my hand towel and it's a wreck it is a wreck this I have a white hand towel and I'm like oh my God what is and it's not makeup it's just I don't know what's on this hand towel and I'm like did she use that for her hair like what is on this hand towel and I started thinking oh my God I washed my hands what if I didn't wash my hands good enough right and then I go and dry on a hand towel so there's still excess dirt everybody doing that who's coming to your house and I'm like the concept of the hand towel is disgusting uh it's gross so now I'm thinking of putting paper towels or have or wipes like there on the hand tow thing like there's that's aesthetically unpleasing so I'm just like well what do I do I mean paper towels areally unpleasing in a bathro towel but you could that makes more sense but I'm just wouldn't it be great if after you put your hand thing and then some laser light thing came down and disinfected the hand towel see I ain't going to hold you I am I'm too far into the future of something that probably is never going to be created like what I want to be able to stand up out of bed and think about my outfit step into a machine and it dresses me if dresses you I hate looking for clothes looking for clothes by the way I have a a cleaner [ __ ] I can't find [ __ ] so yesterday when I was getting ready looking for multiple outfits cuz I recorded my my once clean room is now a do oh I pulled out all the shoes from under my bed I have still shoes and for an outfit will destroy your whole house and then that's another thing I'm going have to have a talk with her baby read the colorway of my Nike boxes before you just put a pair of Nikes in them cuz I'm reading the colorways and so I'm looking for the specific pair of [ __ ] shoes but you know all all the boxes like red and red and black the colorways are right there for you why aren't you reading them to put the right shoes in the right boxes baby my product shoes was on the flow not in the boxes we have to have a conversation the next time she comes over you're annoying what why is that annoying I'm an organized visual person everything should go in the Box you need to help her cuz the color way is confusing take a little you can take a picture though I actually have the camera and I will let you borrow it you take a Polaroid you put it on the box and I have so many polaroid so much I'm sorry when it says R in Black that is not the same as Sage if I did have a cleaning lady I'm cleaning up before she gets there we all do cuz you ain't F to see my house messed up like yeah so it used to be that no it's not no it used to be that do that I literally have to be like damn I take the trash out before I all of those things yeah the dishwasher I will empty dishwasher make sure the dish you know what's crazy I actually just told her that I said hey so when you do the dishwasher can you put them away before you leave cuz [ __ ] they stay in there I now call her when there's dishes in the sink I'll be like DN there's dishes in the sink I got to call my cleaner over I don't do anything now oh my God it's I'm not going to lie it's really crazy but I choose that when I have free time that I want to enjoy my free time all right y' this is the moment where I want try to leave Mandy alone in the comments be nice she's earned this lifestyle no I'm not going to lie and you're nice to your cleaning lady oh I am oh when I order lunch I'll be like you hungry I'm going to order you lunch too and she gets paid $50 an hour so how many PR is that and then she'd be there for about four five hours and I do that I'm paying over $1,000 a month just to have someone come and clean my house once a week so like to me no when I see those things I'm like no cuz luckily she is someone I could say the color of a shirt hey where is this and she'll know where she put it so like just have to get a little bit more on the things but no it's a relationship no it is and and I mean she's wonderful but no like girl baby baby I work and bust my ass off I ain't even going to hold you I don't do laundry and I got a washer and dryer I don't know what the hell is wrong with me I still will have them come pick up fold and drop off my laundry I don't want to do anything I don't know how to do laundry well yeah that's a a tough I cannot do laundry laundry is therapeutic for me I do laundry C I clean I'm very feminine in case y'all sitting here and being like oh she living in her masculinity very fine you cook and clean I know hold on baby God I couldn't let you get away with that one without pointing that out I too am a victim of patriarchy we all are so I'm going to S here and let it be known that I do bring something to the table air quotes if y'all are just listening oh here we go but just no baby I've been seeing I've been in the manosphere all break and I'm just like oh these discussions what is going on but also yeah damn couldn't be me cuz B it's a lot of couldn't be me I mean I need you to know I will cook but it's also been something that since breaking up I've cooked maybe once in eight nine months you also have been traveling a lot so the idea of of making time to buy fresh food that you're going to then have to spend more time preparing and then cooking and then you're leaving again so you have leftovers the break I will tell you I had a fabulous time with the tiktock recipes I made the feta butternut squash spaghetti squash thing did you like that I actually did like it you did like it I did like it mind you I've been sending her recipes I made the best six ingredient salad it's so good we had four in one week we just kept eating it so bought the ingredients again I'm going to post it on my story for y'all to see it it's something that I think I am about to eat weekly but I've literally just been making TI to re three times a week yeah know it's it's that good and it's simple it's so easy to make it's so simple um by the way real quick I guess I could run down the quick ingredients all it is is Roma Dill scallion feta cheese and then dressing made with olive oil and lemon however cuz we believe in seasoning I also add garlic salt and pepper to the and I add a chicken I ohen I do make some chicken and put it in there and I do like my tomato and I would do I would add a little cucumber to that the Cucumber the Cucumber going hold you so tried the second time with cucumber cucumber lets off a lot of water yeah it does like so when you it's something that you want to keep in the fridge it made it more wet than I like okay yeah so I would what why you it made it more wet it we get a little bit more wet we don't have other I'm exhausted you're real New York see what happens when you take Timberlands off why are you laughing like that I have not ever heard you laugh like that stop drinking y'all this was the residue of a bottle this is mostly CL soda at this point there's no ice in there problem is are you tired no I've had four shots of espresso cuz I've been up since 6:00 a.m. cuz I went to bed at 938 you're short circuiting I'm watching it it might be that you're like yeah have you eaten today no oh no I did I had a little bacon egg and cheese on a croissant but baby it's I realized I have to slow down on the caffeine like even yesterday I recorded uh four episodes between horrible and then red light green light and then just been constantly going and I realize that when I'm when I wake up really early even though it's still the morning if it's before 12 I'm just going to drink coffee and so I have had three shots of espresso in a Vietnamese coffee today wow yeah yeah might that can't feed a little crazy girl and I am okay okay Jesus Christ listen it's it's it's it's honest it is uh we didn't get to talk about any of the award shows the nominees the winners um the question of Comedy being at award shows um I guess we can kind of bundle all of that together cuz we didn't get to get to Angela Basset winning her award making out with Regina Hall she did not make out king sorry I knew King it is Regina King it's actually not Regina Hall my bad King masculine energy Christ take over K what what happened it was also the Golden Globes um and the Golden Globes which I think a lot of people were uh bitter it's bittersweet I think the energy overall about award shows is Bittersweet considering how long um we we a lot of people Union Crees were out of work for a lot of the a lot of the time last year were also unable to promote properly a lot of the Productions that took place prior to the strike that were then released during the strike I think the only things the only films that we really saw get any real attention were were Barbie and Oppenheimer yeah um for the most part last year and then as far as TV shows go obviously you know succession was a big winner for the Golden Globes congrats to them I'm not a succession myself but I haven't gotten into it it's just there's just nobody likable it's just rich white people complaining the writing the writing the writing the writing has is great I've watched I've watched a couple episodes by accident because chich is obsessed with it but um the bear was also a big winner which is one of my favorite shows of last year wait wait the one that was uh doing the cocaine the no that was cocaine bear that was a movie but there's a show um cuz I watch that yeah that [ __ ] was crazy the bear is about the service industry yeah oh the bear is with um I always I've seen some but I don't I don't it's unfortunate but the main character had a had a a Legacy character on a show called Shameless and he was lip on Shameless and Shameless is one of the Showtime's greatest shows ever I don't know if you ever watched never watched It's a whole bunch of white people I never got into it it's it's what's wrong with watching shows with a whole bunch of white it's not but it was like it was like weird it was like a whole bunch of kids you know I don't like kids yeah they were basic they were basically a bunch of kids a bunch of kids being raised by single and so Lip lip was one of the kids on the show and so the main character and then there's supporting act supporting acts as well um IA deiri is one of them and she's brilliant she's absolutely brilliant love her also just watched the movie she was in called bottoms which is basically now that's what I want to see which is basically the gay female version of super bad awesome oh I want to watch it's so funny you got to watch it it's very funny bottoms is great it's really funny you love it um I too am a bottom and so it's so so award season has been kind of interesting but aot most of the conversation around the awards around the Golden Globes in particular was the criticism of Joe Koy um and he here is a lovely person and his stand-ups are great on Netflix I will say I've watched I've watched a couple of them and he's he is he has been funny and so I've I felt kind of bad that he you know had the unfortunate and heavy task of having to host an award show that um you know usually has Ricky J's host and he is perfectly inappropriate in the right kind of moments um and it's UNT forunate that his his his tongue and cheek kind of Comedy has been celebrated or you know or at least talked about in a more positive way I don't know if it's always celebrated because he definitely says things that are like oh [ __ ] um but then Joe Koy got up and made and just made some you know jokes that weren't really that funny well like what cuz I didn't watch the I only saw the Taylor Swift thing yeah the T the Taylor Swift thing wasn't that great he said something that didn't bother me it's true um it just it just wasn't great it just wasn't funny it just wasn't a great joke it wasn't I don't think he was offensive I just don't think it was funny I me even you saying that though comedy has always been subjective these are not all the way his jokes there's writers involved he said that too right I saw him say that and so like I think that we've just gotten to a point where a we're we we criticize and and we did this let's be very clear and I called myself out on it uh we criticize even the way shannah sharp held his this space as an interviewer or as someone sitting across from someone where we wanted more all of this is subjective in the sense that a what's funny to you is not going to be funny to me and vice versa we've also talked about the landscape of Dave Chappelle and black comedians having a different sense of Comedy outside of white people white men and then let's be very clear we've talked about the Amy Schumer we've talked about the Tiffany hades's that comedy is different that resonates differently for people so I hate that people are like sticking it so hard to these hosts to be just outright funny to the masses well he made a joke about the writers of the show not being great and blamed part of why during the show blamed part of why he was not successful with the blame the writers for the show as to why his jokes weren't Landing which is also again and he got the gig like a week before yeah and then said that he you know he the only reason he that that the jokes weren't Landing either is cuz he only got the job a week like 10 days prior and they you know and so he wasn't are you mad that that was his response I wasn't mad that it was his response I just felt like you got to read the you're in a room full of writers that just SC got through protesting the fact that they haven't been paid appropriately and you're blaming them now for jokes not landing on a show that is that is probably you know what I mean it's coming off it's coming off of a strike season me they had a lot more time to be funny and make up some things if you really want to to me I and I asked you that question because we've talked about the appropriateness of Taraji talking about the job that she accepted and then complaining about it after so well he and he also he you know when talking about Barbie said that it was you know it's a a movie about a girl with big boobies like he it just wasn't it just wasn't funny very close feminism it just wasn't it just that it was about feminism and patriarchy but you think that's what but red reducing it to it being a movie about a girl with big tits is see exactly what you're doing is what I said a where we're at with sensitivity is nuts but but to be very clear that movie definitely geared more towards women so a man making that joke a lot of people a lot of men did not rush to go see Barbie so where maybe the joke is not really that funny again it's comedy so he's going to deduce it to that as a man who probably did not rush to go see Barbie and I think I think we're so sensitive well I think deducing it I think deducing Barbie specifically to that is an interesting choice when the whole movie is about how your how men deduce women my point so actually if you if you dig into him being a man being this and knowing that that was also the perise of the show which if a writer wrote that or he wrote that that's where like oh my God how dare you to doce a movie that was really so actually thoughtful to just this knowing that also that's actually what the movie did so like when I hear all these the movie didn't well no no no well the conversation was how men viewed women and how women viewed themselves as being way more than like it was patriarchy it was femin you missed the message bro of Barbie but so was he being ironic no but that's what I'm saying and see when we use when we use these terms well I think you missed the message it's comedy and so I don't think that in in joke telling necessarily you have to sit here and actually skew towards the right part of what the messaging was you can make fun of it as it being a movie that a let's be very clear men or or and I don't want to m mascul men or anything like that men were not rushing out to be like ooh this new Barbie movie so a couple things I think um as a I dated a comedian and he was like part of your job is to read the room part of your job is to understand in this country in this part in this Cat Williams talked about it when I go here this is the type of Comedy that they like when I go here this is the type of energy you have to know who's in the room and those Awards shows I agree with you we are very sensitive now it is a hellish job oh they all talk about it whiy Goldberg talk about how she got caught hell when she did it like it's so difficult I think though like a Trevor Noah is kind of masterful at it CU he would have made fun of men with the Barbie joke he would have been like it would have been a joke around how men deduce women to that and and and point it out he's more of a cultural critic are you not actually even bringing up actually the sentiment of what we saw last year with the slap literally this is the anniversary the slap you're saying then even Chris Rock's jokes when he joked about the whole room the issue was when he made the joke about a woman which is why even will went up on stage so this idea to that as a Man comic maybe you should just joke on the men it takes away from to me it leans into the sensitivity of the fact that now maybe women can't take a joke or how we receive things let me finish I don't think that that's what I if I if I might not be expressing myself that clearly I'm not saying that I'm saying that it takes a very skillful and I'm not saying that I can do it by any means it takes a very skillful person to be able to make the joke in this climate and and to be cognizant of the jokes and and the time and just the times that we're in I do think you think it's on the comedian over the audience that's my question I I do think that there is some accountability that we have to have where we are a bit overly sensitive and and so ready to gotcha you not [ __ ] and to cancel people and to say you're being harmful you're this you're that you're you're your and um I I think that it's a give and a take I I really do I can't tell people not to be offended by things that they hear I'm not saying that I'm only I'm not speaking to you but what what but I again I don't agree with all that Dave Chappelle does in says right I really like Dave Chappelle as a comedian there are things that he does that I know really upset some of the people in my life things that he says I do think that he's a cultural critic and I'm able to hear him and understand it because maybe I don't belong to certain communities right and so when you're at the Golden Globes and I'm not choosing to turn your Netflix special on I'm there and you're hosting and it's your job to make all of these different people happy CH the same way I think that's an unrealistic Kevin Kevin Hart didn't interview recently and he said um he said he'll never do it again you know it's those gigs are not g good gigs for Comics it's no shot to the Oscars no shot to the Globes or anything else those just aren't comedy friendly environments anymore I think they got it right one year where it was just a bunch of personalities acting as the hosts and that's a nice thing it's a collaborative thing different people get to be responsible for act one act two act three but you know the days of it being a room for a comic those days are done um and I I the only reason I agree with that is because I think what we have looked for in comedic hosts to your point is someone that can deliver deliver laughs that even if they're not safe they're still palatable right like even if you are pointing something out about culture or something in a or trying to make light of a heavy topic you're doing it in a way that doesn't that doesn't diminish the reality of the weight right and so that it has it has to be smarter now because we everybody is so much it has to be smarter because it for that yeah I age I disagree for the just for that because do we ever really across all of these award shows how many times does without a kiss or someone beefing with someone else how often do we see the acceptance speeches go viral we're also living in a society we're we're for what makes we see the Fashions we see the performances and we see the things that make people feel uncomfortable and for most of the part these Awards we don't see a lot of times the acceptance speeches be go viral and when I say go viral I'm talking about all of the blogs that you do not follow so maybe where you seek out what people have to say when they win Awards if you're thinking about how many eyes and how many people you want to talk about your this show a lot of times that feeds into what the host does and what they say to the audience the moments where we catch people receiving those and maybe responding and not feeling comfortable like we're still in we're entertaining and so not everyone is supposed to like it's going to be boring my only retort to that is maybe it's the blogs that you don't follow because I see it I remember when Lupita won I remember when H won I remember when Ben Affleck and Matt Damon won I remember when Regina won when she finally got her her flowers I remember these moments and I was seeing them on my timeline but that algorithm I think you're right where we have a a where yes of course the slap went viral went crazy and of course we're drawn to chaos and the joke and everything yes of course but there's also these other moments so I don't know I I mean you it's not always going to land that's how I feel it's not always going to land I think what I've realized though is that also com a lot of comics are not um we're expecting Comics to be Rel to be related it's an unrealistic expectation for Comics to always be relatable like the the idea of cancel culture and how many people were were in an out in an uproar because of Dave Chappelle right yeah when at the root of it all if you if you were a part of the generation like myself who watched the Chappelle show most of his jokes were meant to make you think yes and I think for I I believe for a lot of people now thinking is uncomfortable so the idea of having to having to be considerate of more things objectively harder think without being offended thinking without being offended and being able to see something objectively is very hard for people such a good point that is a good point and so I I think we're still looking for Comics to to be relatable in an unrealistic way because we're asking them to be less human about their experience in order to be relatable while they're supposed to be delivering truth pleasing everyone pleasing everybody yeah I agree we it's a don't you have a real comedian friend I have a lot of comedian friends like it would be so rich for you to bring them on and have this Breezy has been on here often I just her stand she doesn't talked too much to about about standup though yeah but she's not but she doesn't lean into Political the same with Sydney like her her isn't there one I mean Andrew Schultz if you guys and he's not like a close friend but he's spoken to this on brilliant idiots as well um what did he say cuz he's a uh this he said it would take a lot for him to actually ever host an award show because he would want to do it the way he wants to do it which you have to be very clear too and you can do that with your audience who's pay you do that with your audience so to do yeah uh that other way and and to me where we've talked about it we've been fans socially of um Matt R was not a fan of his standup he also hosted the Aven Awards last year so I got to see him host an award show I thought he did a phenomenal job at it so it was unfortunate to see that his standup didn't didn't really lean way I didn't think it was offensive I just didn't think it was it was that fun subjective but it was also different than where we've been seeing him on the social landscape where he just did a theater when you're a little bit more intimate it's easy to do the back and forth with an audience it's it's much harder to do that in a theater with 3,000 people you know you can't really have that back and forth who are also concerned about the jokes they laugh at right yeah cuz they don't know if that when that camera's panning to them who are also trying tool which I said that about Dave Chappelle's first time back I was like the audience was laughing but they also looked uncomfortable laughing at the same time do I have permission to laugh yeah cuz it was yeah I'm curious for you too if would you take that gig or if someone came to you asking you about it right like what would go through your mind would you be like [ __ ] how do I please all these people or you just like I'll be myself that's never a thought in my mind I I would do it I would never I wouldn't think twice liely do it I um however I I would consult with people but I would Absolut but I would absolutely do it I mean I would have a few boundaries like I'm not going to get up there and talk in support of any certain political party I'm not going to make um any jokes regarding you know any of the laws that have actually directed aect directly affected me or other women like there's there's actual things that I do stand on that I wouldn't say a joke to go against if it goes against what I believe in um but girl I don't even care if you don't like y'all don't like me somehow y'all keep tuning in all the all the weeks to all my pods and everything else because the other thing that I I thought was great was that um I always forget his name the actor from shangi he's um a Chinese actor that's in a Disney movie but he's also in Barbie he's one of the Kens in Barbie um him and Issa Reay got up and they did a a a small spoof with each other about playing White characters and they made fun of white typ cast characters like it's always easy to make fun of yourself and do a cultural so as a as a comedian then when you are hosting part of that is to include yourself in whatever the joke is that you're making so that it's not coming across as a criticism right rather than it just be that you're just commenting because now you're just contributing to commentary and to your point the only commentary people want to go viral or the only commentary that goes viral is the stuff that's cacious so if you're not if you're not saying that and you are making fun of yourself that's why I thought Gerard k Michael was brilliant brilliant because he was making jokes being you know about being attracted to you you not his at all none of us are Jesus so yeah at the end of the day he was he was a was a great example to me of someone that could make fun of and point out the disparities in Hollywood cuz he's like hey I'm actually the ultimate minority I'm I'm gay and I'm black like I y'all it's giving it works you know what I mean it works and so I think in those situations you have to be able to white man right he's Asian-American I believe oh is he okay it's interesting that we keep talking about race cuz I haven't I know I mentioned it um last pod but I would love to know y'all's thoughts just because we do expect our people to stand with our people and to not talk about other people and vioc fox this week went viral um because TMZ did ask her her views and thoughts on to rajie P Henson and um Danielle Brooks and everyone in their thoughts about their treatment during the color purple and her response was I'm good over here I don't have any say in that and it's crazy because for weeks our conversation was that Viola Davis that Mo'Nique has been sharing these same sentiments and there wasn't support in that and then here we see actually another actress another black actress who has been not as big as saraji in in her movies but has been around for the last two decades three three and literally said I'm good that ain't my problem that ain't my fight to fight I want to know y's thoughts and what then it it does this work against our views on how people have to come together are we allowed to say I know that she's dealing with that but that ain't my business I just I I don't know it's it's interesting because as we brought up race so much in this and how we should be together or how we should go about even our jokes I wanted to know if y'all had any thoughts on Viva kind of like not aligning with her other act black actors I think actresses something to add to that what Viva said is oh I'm good over here but I hope that she gets what she needs but I hope y'all pay her yeah I hope that Taraji feels taken care of because I want to see everybody win yeah but I'm grateful for the career that I've had I I've been able to negotiate what I need and I want that for everyone right but also if she also made it seem like I hope she gets that but if there is a way for us to come together or I mean let's be very clear black black lives matter we're marching there's we we feel like more things get done with numbers and clearly we have someone with a voice who's been in this industry for however long not feeling like that's her plate and so like you're fine with someone just being like again we talked about the shade last episode I hope she gets what she wants but I'm good over here I didn't say it like that you didn't well see so okay so tone I I mean tone and and also and also intention okay there's a lot of marches that I've been to that aren't my plate right okay but I'm out there because it's like well I I'm in support you know I I will be this isn't my thing I'm good this isn't affecting me but it's affecting you so we out here we outside um and so I think that's more so what we're looking for I I don't think that it means that Viva can't tell her truth and be honest and say I'm good I don't have that experience you just add the other thing because what you don't want right and and this is what I think and this is not a black thing or anything but it is a black thing actually because what what the the powers that be will take that sound bite right and invalidate what Taraji said and you have to be conf see and we've been seeing that happen it's the same critique that people are having for charlot man who's critiquing Joe Biden you are giving this sound bite to Fox News and they are running running with as a black man right and so you and and it's sad because we naming also naming Nikki Nikki Hy Haley whatever I when I I'm I'm going to be honest with you when I saw the post of that I was I was a little disappointed okay it's not that he shouldn't speak his truth he has to know the how they're going to cut cut that up because I think um which you actually hate how we cut up the clips when you say something it's like that wasn't what I said go listen to the you hate we even cut up Clips but yeah you're right I don't think but I also know that you know you're [ __ ] marketer and strategist and you're like I'm going to get the people going so they go watch this I'm make y mad yeah everything's here provocator and that's what is going to go vir which is crazy though that conversation I don't think Charlamagne had to be provocative no I don't think he did either but I think posting posting putting Nikki putting Nikki Haley on anyone's radar yeah I just think is a is a you're it's a it's there's too much at stake that's really what it is to me and I I I I respect the point of view of wanting to educate and provide more information for people um but I really do anet I agree with you wholeheartedly that there has to be a level of accountability around how the other how the other side is playing the longer game and they have they are better at it than we are and it's an unfair burden I want to be very clear I I don't it's not lost on me that it's so unfair that we speak we have to be so responsible and intentional about what we say because you just never know which is why Beyonce does not talk to us what was it and when she does she has a camera recording what she's saying and she her team her te you should be able to speak how you feel you really should agree but boy a responsibility those folks are out there chomping at the bit to just get that sound bite and invalidate and um hopefully taji an individual a very individualistic life and they're okay with it we here we go she's bringing up individualism and I'm I'm I'm I am not necessarily always agreeing with it but I do think that we still have to be respectful when it exists because I think everybody has their own fight that they we don't know what we don't know what Viva fox went went through or has has done or sacrificed to get to where she is but what I'm saying is she might not care and and and to me but why are we judging her for not caring I'm not judging I'm not judging what I'm what I'm offering is if you don't care if you're not a collective then you run the risk of being able to be taken advantage of I think the ass that everyone is of the collective is what's going to get you taken advantage of assuming that I'm encouraging it okay I don't think that everybody's of the collective and I think that's part of the problem is that we we don't always have to agree but in times like thish it is if we don't understand the importance of having each other's back okay then then we deserve what we get we have to be a collective in this moment when if we really want [ __ ] to change if we really want to have our fundamental rights back if we really want to be paid equitably you know if you get a gig right or if I matter of fact I'll switch it if I get a gig I want to be able to come to you and ask you for guidance around my contract I think that you would provide that for me oh girl we talked about I ain't going to name name the thing that we were both on but I was mad that you didn't come to me exactly to negotiate because I negotiated thing for her yes toy Marie Smith said transparency is the enemy of exploitation if you are transparent then that means you are a part of a collective that you trust that you're trying to help being a collective being a community riding for each other is the enemy of exploitation and the the quicker we understand that the quick the better we will be so it's an invitation I'm not saying individualism doesn't exist but this idea of I'm good so good luck to you we're we're always going to have people who are still struggling and if you're okay with that capitalism you go ahead and listen I do it I'm in agreement with you I just this might be B A woke I mean you are very woke I also you believe in World Peace but I'm also a [ __ ] around the way chick and I get it I really do like I don't think that I'm I don't ever want to be preachy it's a invitation it really is because the stakes are so high it is but I also think it's very tough to to make it a with us or against us with every conversation and I I didn't say that sound that way I I'm you don't hope then that's the problem so if so if she does I'm saying that's the that it's going to be that much more difficult I'm not I'm not casting any judgment on Viva I'm really not I'm inviting her to to see that with her help with all of us Collective together look at the video girls had they been together for real for real they would be getting their money yeah I agree I also think you said a very it was it was a very important word that you mentioned when it comes to bringing something to the collective transparency is the enemy of exploitation the only environment where transparency is going to be leveraged properly is an environment where there's trust and I and I don't think trust people Trust and there and there's too many people that feel entitled to the transparency that are not trustworthy and that's where we get [ __ ] up so in my mind I agree with that as well so in my mind the the basis the the only way for us to get to a place where the transparency is as valuable as we say it is is for us to perform in a trustworthy Manner and I don't think most people in the industry are trustworthy people it's layered I don't think that this just happens overnight I agree with you 100% I mean I I I agree with you that I think it's it's small small steps but I just don't to me in order for that to even count people have to be trusted and I don't think people are trustworthy so I think the idea of community is still so Grand and far away from where we are at this in this moment because I don't think we there is enough trust amongst people I think the way we have watched the way Tiffany hadish I feel like has been handled and treated in this community and spoken about and in the industry where you going with this one she hasn't been a trustworthy person she okay yeah we can't we cannot we cannot trust her somebody from the community needs to reach out to herin there been plenty of have so the level of empathy and Grace has been lost has been lost and I don't I think we've we've lost of that part of the conversation that people are people and G people and so if you if you operate in in such a manner that where where you would benefit the most from having that Community but you're not a trustworthy contributor then it's it's hard to ask for that you have to earn it I I definitely agree and it's not to say that taji hasn't earned it right but I also think that that the amount of there there are well no that's great to say because people actually said Mo'Nique did not earn people said that Monique didn't earn it either she didn't earn people to uh go around her and support because of her treatment as a person to people in the industry allegedly so I I do agree like we're still people here where a lot of other things are put into in terms of how we show up how we perform and the trust that we've lost in our own Community to feel as though that same Community should support using I the great example and then you and then you just there's always going to be an exception and then know it's what we're seeing and that's where when we hold these conversations I think the reality of where we has to also be inserted yes but guess this my last my last point and this is just an offering and I don't agree with it half the Republican Party hate Donald Trump yes Donald Trump is will win he he will be the next candid the Republican candidate absolutely okay they will rally behind him they absolutely will because they understand the greater um the Republican party over the they understand the greater goal okay they understand this is chess not Checkers and I think it's important I think it's terrible I think it's spineless I think it lacks Integrity I do but they're going to do it and we have to understand that we are working with people who will do that before we get out of honest I did want to ask about that because that was something that we that you added to the to the outline as well no I did about the states that are also trying to remove add the map yeah so they are trying to remove him off the ballots and we do see the Supreme Court stepping in against these states and saying he cannot be removed off the ballots and we've seen this happen now to about two or three states that have tried to remove him state supreme court the state the state supreme court sorry not federal but the state supreme court have stepped in and been like nope actually he's going to go on the ballot I do want to know except for Colorado and Maine he's off those those are the two states but we've seen it be overturned for for a few other states yep something with an m one of the M States Minnesota and Michigan there two of the M States okay so what are so in you saying that sorry case pending in Illinois and Massachusetts does does that not go against kind of also what you just said no not at all okay but you're saying as if he makes the Republic candidate even these states that don't want him in they're then going to Rally I'm talking about Congress got you Congress those folks those folks got get behind him not only Congress the white people as well in the country that lean so heavily to the Republican Party whether they like Trump or not they'll vote him before somebody that goes Mr hedge fund that we and it's not that it would excuse it but it's also like it's not even a situation where you know she has a a a drug addiction or well no she does have a drinking one cuz she's had quite a few DUIs so dating someone and they accomplished a big goal and you found out via social media and they never told you wouldn't you feel some type of way or is you feeling some type of way about them not telling first off what is your answer to to to the question posed and then has this happened it's a little triggering for me I'm not going to lie oh um it's a little trigging for me because I I think people when you have something to celebrate you don't get to decide how other people are going to celebrate that okay that's not up to you okay right how you share it is up to you and I think when things get posted on social media I think that the need for acknowledgement on social media exceeds the need for Connection in the celebration ah okay say that again the the need the need for public validation exceeds the need for that's Norm from the other person so like there if again so you do feel like then I would have a problem I I wouldn't I actually wouldn't have a problem depending on what it is okay right I think I think for a lot of us for a lot of us our profiles Thrive based on engagement around celebratory things or exciting Milestones or whatever on social media I think that helps Drive traffic that helps the overall brand yes I think very personal achievements person when I say personal I mean like baby announcements okay or you know or someone passing away or not not even not even like celebration but just overall major things major personal life things happening that get shared on social media prior to being personally shared then to me it feels like the public validation is more important than the connectivity of the celebration with like it's not a person it's not it's not that personal so I'm not going to take something person personal that's not personal does that make sense but then do you then also the receiver does make it about them if they have an issue absolutely okay because I I don't think it's I don't think it's about them that's why I said like it's if somebody prioritizes the social media engagement over that then I don't think it's that personal and then I also if it's not that I if I can say that I can't talk out of both sides of my mouth so if I'm going to acknowledge that you posting that means you care more about it being kind of blank like publicly celebrated and not that personally celebrated I'm not going to take that personal cuz it's not the post wasn't personal okay and also I if I didn't contrib unless it's something that I contributed to and then you just left me out of it you know what I'm saying then I would make maybe could take it personal but if it's it's really got nothing to do with me then I don't think the only time I only time I think I would feel away to again is if it's like you know my a friend that I consider somebody really close to me makes a pregnancy announcement or and doesn't tell you and doesn't tell me and I find out on social media or if someone passes away and I was just with you or you know what I mean a couple days ago and you didn't say anything like stuff like that to me I'm I would be a little bit taken aack by but more so cuz I I I would feel more so as if you don't you you don't feel close enough to me to share something like that with me personally first am I I ain't going to hold you the other stuff though I just I wouldn't care I only hate that cuz baby I'm getting cussed out this week we was just with my little sister [ __ ] I missed her birthday I know you miss but I miss everyone's birthday and that's me and she's not on online like that that's how I know it's your birthday cuz you're reposting of and we talked about it being her birthday [ __ ] hold on when I say I know I know calendar that was my I don't have calendar reminders for birthdays she but and so to be very clear I'm bringing this up in the sense that I've had friends mad that I didn't post them mind you now there's a difference whether you post them in story or on the feed there's a if you called them it's a maybe a happy birthday and a DM doesn't mean the same as a happy birthday text you didn't call me and sing there's all and I'm only bringing this up because birthdays I get cursed out by everybody it is the one thing baby I don't know everyone's birthday I know a lot of people including I my daddy's birthday might be I don't know the date wow it's the it's between the 12th and the 16th I know it's a couple days after my mom is in September they both viros I don't know well and I only know even my best friend's birthday cuz she made it her password and I had her password so I remember the numbers of a password and so I know the date of her birthday I am so bad with birthdays and so I actually hate when people try to validate my relationship to them or how I care about them if I show up or post for someone else's birthday and not theirs and XYZ and so I do feel like well that happened to me this year because one of my really good friends birthday is Christmas Eve Tiffany's birthday is Christmas Eve sh I [ __ ] I started back working on Monday her birthday was Monday I was not even we yeah I was I forget even where I was on Christmas Eve but I really I talked to her that day so I wasn't like I called her to I were text her we were texting back and forth happy birthday so I wasn't thinking about it as a I didn't think about the post because it's also Christmas so I really wasn't thinking about it but then I also have two other friends I know a lot of Capricorns I have two other friends that are like a week apart Kiki is 3 days after that and then my friend and sioban is the first week of January so I hadn't post I didn't really post anybody for for for birthdays this year for that cuz I was like well if I didn't post one I don't want to post the other and then not po I was like I'm just not posting anything but I love y'all I'm calling y'all the first midnight like first before the clock strikes 12 I'm calling you it just gets it gets tricky it gets tricky I think they're two separate things the birthday thing if somebody's mad at me because I didn't post them on a story or versus in it's acknowled your birthday even if it's cple days late that's a red flag for me okay that's a red flag for me because our relationship is not content is say that again say that again repeat that our relationship is not content I'm not going to miss your birthday I'm going to call you on your birth like this for me yeah I ain't going to hold you to call I'm about to send her some extra money cuz I forgot yeah like make for it I'm going to call you on your birthday but if you're reaching out to me because you want to be on my feed that feels like weird that feels like do you need something to promote do you have something if you do then I'll help like just say that right right right right but that would just be weird to me because I'm somebody who remembers birthdays I'm very sentimental I'm I'm thoughtful in that way so it's like you know I've really mean that too that's a real I'm jealous that's not or if I did forget I would make that up in our intimate relationship it's not for I don't need to this social media thing is weird I got a ey roll what you doing Miss I forgot my own sister's birthday that's that's what she just said to me Miss I forgot my whole sister bir yeah that would really hurt my feelings if I'm being honest but I have a different relationship with my sister where we have these expectations of each other it's very clear she got to know that I mean I I forget how old she is every year how old you turn a girl I don't okay um that would hurt me but but the other thing about um you know the events and life events and or accomplishments you know I have a friend who's recently won a bunch you know Grammys and a bunch of awards she don't tell us none of that she's texting us about nonsense right memes we we find out everything about her on social media everything and then we'll be like oh my God congrats and she but is it from other outlets or is it from her no from other Outlet which is different though it's not as if they're it's not like she's posting real quick I was doing her social media for a while so I would find out from her manager and have to post about it and be like this girl ain't say nothing she'd be like oh yeah I know or or but you have to know who you're dealing with she doesn't want to boast she's not her style and her relationship is not about her music right I don't remember birthday that's not my St yeah her thing is like well I don't talk to y'all about work the [ __ ] what we talking but she wants to if she sees something online she like my god look look you know like oh this is great you and I'm so proud like so that's kind of we don't have to do this kind of thing I think the thing that's getting lost in this whole celebratory thing and people posting is I do think it's about you're making it about you how this person decides speaking about you our producer bro why did I why did it just click the anet's tail on hotels is anet Jesus Christ you know what sit down at DJ sit down the amount of times that we we talked about this last year and the year she wasn't here yet so maybe she doesn't know but she's like bro look look she's like [ __ ] that's you you did that but no I think that it is it's a part of the ego cuz I'm like in all of this if I posted something that was a huge accomplishment and my friends was like how could you not tell me this I'm angry why are you not celebrating this why is it about you is it about you you're right you know if it's that's why that's why I I was a little a little trigger this is that's weird to me a little bit but also it's the nature of the person I mean I'm not somebody who's going to write a bunch of people and be like this thing is happening are you proud of me if anything I'm you know when we did the merch to I sent it to be like do y'all like how we look give me feedback you know so they were aware of it but yeah like take yourself out of it's not all about you and how people decide to announce things shut up shut up I think it's weird and I also realize that people sometimes will post things on social media for the sake of not having to have so many to minimize it's basically making an it's basically making an announcement to the group chat at all at once like you're literally making an announcement to the group chat for everyone to collectively celebrate you and it doesn't have to be about this oneon-one one-onone one-onone conversation I if anything I'm grabbing I'm copying a and throwing it in the y'all see this [ __ ] like that's it so I got a healthy friend group the more I hear of the stories that people go through girl it's very for my friend group it's very strange oh my God shout out to y'all y'all know who y'all are but like such a healthy group that like we just we not doing all you can nip it in the butt yeah nip it in the bud is it the butt or the bud bud bud okay I like the butt better I bet you do all right well you know what y'all um leading into our freshly squeeze which we're going to sing I just want to give a very big congratulations uh because we weren't notified personally because we don't know these people but we were notified publicly that doniver and Kali uchis are not only officially dating but expecting
