in recession hit Britain more and more people are turning to finance companies to buy the items we want but can't afford if you signed up to sky-high repayments to fail to keep up with them the next knock on your door could be from Sean James the repo man no stranger to violence and abuse he's the self-styled savior of the repossession world something you don't know what you're talking about someone owes money on their life they will lie their ass off whether you've defaulted on your repayments a car will be going things yeah I think thinking or inherited someone else's debt somebody can scam somebody else for more money bail - its Sean on the team are coming to snatch back the items that don't belong to you if you ask me son on the dad if you ask me work colleagues on the bus if you ask a customer I'm a wanker while the snow has been causing problems for many across the West Midlands today 8th centimeters of snow has fallen in Birmingham alone Britain has been hit by some of the heaviest snow in the last 30 years while most of the nation is stranded in their houses repo man Sean James there's no intention of staying indoors daddy's got to go to work in this I will reap up anywhere anytime anywhere anything he's planning to repossess as many cars as possible while the customers are sitting ducks it's real rough conditions most repo agents for drinking and go come get me truck out was - I see but I think it's ideal people are gonna be indoors eating their Heinz tomato soup thing class and Isis go and play snowball in you know it's a good time to get them it's a good time to go after all these lovely people let's move in bed daddy's gonna come along [Music] most of Sean's income is from repossessing cars failing with 20 vehicles up for grabs this weekend could seem increasingly rare Winfield 16 years ago being in this business was absolutely amazing thousands of repo companies now absolutely of them they're come in and they will undercut you would do this for one hundred and fifty quid and you're like how can you compete with that with around four thousand pounds at stake Sean is working alongside some of the toughest agents in the business H so watch me back and look after me so anyone tries to take me out over the 8h for jumpin won't you H Sean doesn't scare easy if he says we're going to get it he agrees with the way I go about things and vice-versa that's why well the vehicle shown is repossessing today have all had logbook loans taken out against them a short-term measure that uses the car as collateral everything's credit this and credit Bob why can't you save and then of course when they've got everything con take I haven't got any means of paying it back so no wonder the well was in the recession with one car already set for the pound Shawn now has a minicab in his sights alone has been taken out against it but the repayments haven't been met this bloke is the original person mr. Capel on he knows it's going so let's go Oh mate here we've got a repossession order yeah BMW it's a taxi course you've got the keys it's been used look the windscreens doesn't even got all the snow over much just fresh snow don't go near him I'm gonna pull the boot trying to call people around the neck say cool the blokes on the shop see always gonna do first the customer is refusing to hand over the keys so Shawn decides to speed up proceedings gonna have to tear it out way proper idiot sometimes you get really pissed off with the customers when they're just giving you [ __ ] after [ __ ] at the end of the day why don't they pay their [ __ ] bills and they won't have their car took off from simple as I know straight up with the car hooked up and ready to be towed how my fingers at all Shawn gives a customer one last chance ask you again what I want your personal possessions out the vehicle do I get my vehicle back on in we're gonna get the vehicle back I am going to tell that finance company probably know not to give you a vehicle back ok ok because the way you've acted tonight if you give us the keys now alright if you give us a keys and you empty your stuff out of I will take it to a long local compound and we will deal with it as a normal repossession with shake hands and we'll go away and that's the end of it ok with the customer still refusing to cooperate Shawn decides to tow the taxi away to show he means business he's blocked the road off of his car that's a light leave you have a car we had on the back it's not dangerous because they'll be after this they've temporize my jump I can't keep [ __ ] out of me so I walk okay I can take a beating I can give them beating as well after taking the taxi to a pound Shawn returns to find the customers have disappeared but they've got company people call police a lot they think the police have got like a golden answer it's a civil matter place on against us and not for us so the place would just be about to stop reaching a pace with the customer questioning whether the repossession is justified the tensions have escalated in Shawn's absence it has been about six or seven cars full all of them just driving about nothing too exciting making a few frets and that look there makes down shoot that's noticed and the owner we've got a judge there at the end of the day he had ample opportunity to flip in and give us our car keys empty stuff a car which I was your option and this is what's happened the worst day to forget me gloves over 30,000 logbook loans are taken at every year and the figure is rising despite being readily available even to those with a bad credit history interest rates of up to 400% when its first cash at a high price what's got enough to do you know I'm not making any profit out of it the end of a day that agreement was between them and the finance company not by I don't care it just doesn't concern me as the evening draws on Sean's plan is proving successful despite the deteriorating conditions his night is far from over yeah we've got a repossession order he might have it call the next customer has stopped making his repayments and the car is up for repossession the only thinking they're about to take out oh yeah the repo is going smoothly so far but the customers son decides to make a stand cars going he's going in a bit [Applause] join empty stuff out vehicle you know what that's good enough to do with you okay hey mate calm it down will ya we're not swearing at you are we pardon we treat you how you treat us okay what we will treat you you won't yeah we will treat you how you treat us a cars going okay yeah you think yeah the car will be going things yeah I do think and I know that me me inhaling me ain't [ __ ] on me I'm not allowing me to stupid Hannah [ __ ] so what okay are you please I got in the end of the day we love your dad don't think me okay [ __ ] [ __ ] often when this vehicles time to go you will be removed I would be removed I'd like to see you try you won't have to wait very long okay except for it well why are we supposed to move availa of course we've got to move yet to get it out okay if you get a weapon you get restrained okay okay yeah that's okay put an AK so for my age I don't go into a job knowing on right or you know taking the moral high ground or may not do every job the same I'm not the door ask for customer ask him 20s tough outfit you know be polite to him but obviously if they start treating me like a bit of a [ __ ] I'll be more harsh with them back inside stop tonight dad cars gonna go I will pay you right now um what's worse one out was a telescope of transient flicks it and he crapped me right over the edge and it actually snapped luckily didn't knock me out do you want to talk about getting the car back we're gonna talk about this a time it's about ten o'clock okay what difference does the time make go back in and get some sleep with Sean well used to hostility the customer tries a more intellectual approach I can pay the money or I can let them repossess and take the chance but that isn't a valid default notice and it wasn't served directly I'll confess the serving and it's for judge to decide over constitutes you know that you want to keep your car or join us to take it I need to make an informed decision okay I need to make a decision please I mean your wife's going on about you know it's late at night you know you just keep this here oh you taste about this yeah I don't mind if I darn your wife coming back moaning is dawning it's like you know no bra whaa I'll stay all night there's a barrister in every street I studied law I'm solicit saying you know I'm not well I am because if it's it's gonna be Monday to push your car off third rather spend ten hours on the phone to Citizens Advice of how to get out of pain than just 10 minutes with the finance companies we've let's come true this comes from arrangement let's come 250 pound a week did you take out the local load I did yeah it's the final yeah just before Christmas lights ask parents how to come over last chance do you want to pay for join up a friend always last chance the customer decides his complaint lies with the finance company so he agrees to pay up to get Shawn out of the picture the son put you down down his pants and pulled out a big wad of money there's a prime example of some people just stop do to civilization yeah gang members are gonna be well impressed Ravana I go did you put a cap in their ass no I know did you did you go in then did you get your ax no no as it was leaving I call him a cheeseburger net you know what the worst thing is I've got this money in my pocket then it's chaos pocket I shall pay you a teaser [Music]
