these Servants of grandfa nurgle move forward spreading plague and pestilence here on Mountain Side [Applause] tabletop [Music] all right we're back and I'm here with my Scout Squad once again taking the out for another spin let's see what I can make happen yeah against a different team this time open world but something spicy you'll see later I think I learned a lot about this this team having played them once before in our previous battle report and I'm hoping that I can kind of put that to use here and uh kill some legionaries uh my roster is basically the same as the last video except I did take one of my shotgun Warriors out and put in uh my 10th operative that I built from the box which was just a regular warrior with a bult gun just because I know Victor is taking um the damage reduction from the all nurgle team and it just seems like if their damage is getting nerfed anyway I may as well just take one long range guy maybe yeah I mean it probably won't make a difference but I figured may as well get this guy on the channel for equipment I've given the climbing equipment just to my three guys with heavy guns so I can kind of you know cheese up the Gantry and still get a shot off I also gave a crack grenade to one of my shotgun Warriors and I give the heavy bipod stand whatever it is to the heavy bolt gun so if he's standing still uh during an activation and then shoots he'll get some rolls so obviously there's a bunch of guns I have to worry about on this team but I think I think my biggest Target off the top is this tracker your ability to uh get rid of obscuring is going to really impact my ability to like move out take a shot and jump back into cover so if I see a chance to take him out uh I'm going to take it you know I don't want to trade any legionaries one to one for a scout but the heavy gunners your leader and the tracker are ones that like you know if the math is looking okay I might be willing to do a onetoone trade so yeah we'll see see how it uh see how it plays [Music] [Music] out all right so today I'm going to be playing the legionary kill team they're a great team I've got a little bit of experience with them but every time I play them they seem like a lot of fun my list is below I've given my Gunner a plasma gun and I've given my heavy gunner the heavy Bolter so for Marks I'm going with all nurgle which is why I'm using my death guard models for this game you know I think the damage reduction is just so good it's just it's literally disgusting it is yeah you know corn is great on the Butcher and having the invol is nice but you don't have a ton of AP so I'm thinking just give me damage reduction give me implacable so I'm not injured and uh give you Victory or give you death yeah exactly so for equipment I've given a crack grenade to my shrive Talon a Grizzly trophy to my Butcher and the suspenders to my heavy gunner did we talk about this team in our most fun kill teams video no no but we probably should have cuz they're quite fun I would rank them pretty low to play against yeah too I hate playing into all nurgle that damage reduction is nasty three up saves all the fighting so good this team is hard to kill my AP is okay I don't have any ap2 I just have a couple AP1 guns and some Mortal wounds on the sniper honestly I'm scared yeah because like yeah I have some good tools and balen aspirant is pretty good but I just I don't know I don't know how I'm going to kill you I think I'm going to have to play for points maybe get a couple kills and then just play for points the rest of the game yeah like who am I scared of I'm scared of everybody equally but I have a personal Vendetta against the butcher um he got some nasty kills against me in the exaction game where I played exaction Squad and you played these same nurgle legionaries it was it was gnarly I don't like that model his fighting so good and he just has so many tricks that can make everybody around him suck more yeah and I don't want to deal with that so I'm probably going to Target him down and try and make his life brutal yeah for today's Mission we're playing on an open board we've pulled the sector deployment and the mission is secure for terrain we're doing something a little spicy we're trying the beta DEA terrain along with with the extra bits from salvation on an open board map and we've set it up like this almost everything is heavy although we do have a few Light Elements here and a ton of Vantage points next we roll off for attack or Defender I win and I'm going to choose to be the defender on the bottom edge of the map and with that we place our barricades and our operatives now it's my chance to try again with forward scouting I'm going to start by giving myself a bonus CP and also taking an infiltrate option then I'm going to give myself two dashes and lay down a booby trap then in the actual scouting phase we both pick infiltrate Vic chooses to give me Initiative for the first turn and we get on with it all right finally the top of Turning Point one in the Strategic phase I'm going to play mutagenic flesh for free because of my Leader's ability and Brad's going to save all his CP neither of us are going to reveal any Targets in the tack op phase and we're going to move on to the game okay a safe move from me to start the bolt gun's just going to move up and secure this objective yeah I'm going to stay safe here too my leader is just going to dash up secure the objective and then move back to where he came [Music] from my hunter's going to move and dash [Music] up my butcher's going to move secure this objective in the center and then Dash to hide behind the furnace my sniper's going to move [Music] up uh my heavy gunner is going to follow suit move up hit the objective Dash into cover my warrior with the crack grenade is going to move up and then secure this [Music] objective uh well my plan was to be really conservative and turning point one but I literally cannot help myself so my bell fire acolyte is going to move and dash onto this Gantry and use his fire blast attack on that Warrior first roll is uh pretty not great and no damage goes through but my real Target is this tracker so in the second roll I'm going to spend a CP to make it a bit better with a roll and then I'm going to kill him and do two mortal wounds with Splash onto the other guy I'm not going to lie to you Victor I meant to play my super concealed Ploy there and keep that guy safe completely forgot that's life I guess so now I'm going to go with my missile launcher and try and punish this because I have the climbing equipment I can Dash up onto the Gantry and then still shoot the acolyte spend a CP here on a roll which does nothing but I am going to use embolden aspirins to upgrade one of my normal hits to a crit because he's Mark a nurgle Vic's going to be upgrading one of his normal saves here to a crit save so if he rolls 1 three up and one six he lives and he does the Invincible nurgle Shenanigans come dude with the next activation my plasma Gunner is just going to move and dash up and uh go back to my conservative game plan my leader now is going to buff the APL of one of the warriors with a shotgun and then just move and dash up next to the Hunter and prepare for turning point two my shrive Talon is going to move up staying in cover and unless Brad completely loses his mind that'll be my last activation of the turn I do have one more shot against Victor's exposed acolyte so my heavy Bolter is going to Dash and then shoot luckily I get a crit which will activate P1 and you can't live through this you're just dead and then with my last activation my final warrior with a shotgun is going to move Dash and then because his APL was buffed hit this objec jective and that's turning point one uh yeah I mean I'm not feeling great trading one for one legionary for scout is uh never a good plan but I'm happy to have got rid of that tracker at least that does hurt because I was going to try and change some of your conceal orders to engage and then just shoot you but uh I guess I'll have to play with slightly more finesse than that yeah overall I think a pretty close game so far and a pretty U standard turning point one you know I had an opportunity here to like run up and steal the point over by the left side of the map because your butcher tapped it and then moved off I did have an opportunity if I buffed a guy with my leader I could have moved Dash and then tapped it although stupidly I moved up the purple haired guy with the crack grenade and then blocked my path and but by the time I realized that it was too late so I kind of played myself out of that one it would have been nice to be ahead on points but uh yeah at least I got a kill totally so in turning point two Victor rolls for initiative and he gets a six and I can't beat him in the Strategic phase Vic leads off by playing mutagenic flesh for free and he also spends a CP on implacable I'm also going to spend one CP here on stealth relocation and do a little cheese uh the heavy gunner that jumped up on the Gantry before with climbing equipment I'm just going to dash back down and be safe that feels a little bit wrong but I think it's I think it's right then for tack Ops Vic reveals eliminate guards and Route and I reveal from all angles and I'm trying to infiltration stock Target uh and I'm going to Target the butcher with this man is this bad I don't know I just wanted to try out infiltration with these guys yeah I've never scored a single Victory point with infiltration so mostly I haven't revealed it yet but I feel like implant might be good because I know you're going to be fighting me and I might as well just score points instead of doing chip damage I don't know right so with the first activation of the Turning Point I've got a pretty big one planned here my shrive Talon is going to throw their crack grenade at the tracker I get a Bonkers roll here and an easy kill and then next I'm going to charge and fight Brad's sergeant and I get to bring him down only taking two hits for uh six wounds because of mutagenic flesh so now I'm going to score one VP for route and then I'm going to reveal Head Hunter for another two uh I really think I probably should have played safe with my leader huh well that was bad to give you two kills um okay my warrior with the purple hair is going to go now I'm going to run up and then Chuck a crack at your plasma Gunner you get a great save and with the damage reduction only six wounds go through there I hate playing against this team all right now with my heavy gunner I'm going to dash out a little bit and take a shot at the guy on the objective I really want to get this kill because he's my eliminate guards Target just have to run out at some point uh so on Three's here with P1 they ran out yeah yeah saved I know what you're thinking I should have played veteran of the long war and you're absolutely right I was just too flustered by that roll and forgot that that was an option enjoy oh man that is so so extremely bad um I can't even take another shot because I didn't pay for malicious volleys uh so I guess I'll just move back into cover he survived one shot I don't think he'll survive anymore so uh I'm going to make a risky play here I'm going to charge and fight the plasma Gunner look I only have three hits and I need all three to land for this to work I'm going to roll here I have to okay luckily I do get the kill and Vic actually parries one of my other hits instead of striking at all uh because he's worried about implant points so I take no damage and I finish off this Gunner probably the one one of the scariest guns on the board and he's gone now yeah that's really unfortunate I was thinking that my plasma Gunner as long as I didn't move him was going to be safe from any shots and I totally overlooked that charge after whiffing the heavy gunner shot I mean easy to do his fighting is terrible yeah uh all right well speaking of uh terrible fighting but maybe terrible in the other way my butcher is going to activate charge all the way around the furnace and fight this Warrior uh I'm going to get a pretty easy kill here but Brad is going to score a victory Point while revealing uh implant after getting the kill I'm going to take a shot with my bolt pistol at the sniper but first i'm going to spend a CP on malignant Aura so he's rolling one less Defense die get a pretty bad result here only doing four damage through the sniper so he's not even injured all right well this sniper's going to go now and I have a pretty hilarious shot I'm going to spend 1 AP on Advanced scope and then I can shoot the heavy gunner I could just barely see him all the way across the map but I definitely can see see him unfortunately I'm rolling only three attack dice here due to the grizzly trophy from the butcher nearby I'm going to roll this one with a CP amazingly I get another crit and then I'm going to use embolden aspirin here with my last CP to force a third crit so that's nine mortal wounds through and Victor doesn't get the save needed so you're dead yep that's uh that's a real shame now my leader is going to activate and I'm going to charge and uh fight Scarface over here Brad does get some damage through here uh but I'm pretty easily going to rip him apart with my power fist which is going to score me a victory point for eliminate guards then I'm going to overcharge a plasma shot onto this other Warrior and uh just blow him off the face of the planet okay well my missile launcher now I he's got an easy kill so I'm just going to shoot at the butcher unfortunately I get a terrible roll and I have no CP left to roll and with all the damage reduction and everything you only take four damage man that is huge that sucks that is a massive Turning Point bonus for me uh yeah so I thought this butcher was going to be certainly dead but it looks like he's got an OverWatch here so I'm going to take a shot at the sniper and bring him down what a massive turn of events that is brutal dude the dice were hot for you then they were hot for me and now they're back to being hot for you uh last activation here I'm going to Dash and then shoot your shrive Talon uh not a great rooll Vick's going to spend a CP on rerolling one of his saves and he only takes five damage meaning this shrive Talon stays alive with one HP this member of thep G is brought to you by Pat thanks Pat so at the end of Turning Point two we both get three for primaries and I score one more from from all angles but I'm two points behind and I'm starting to get worried about the bodies here honestly there have been so many times in this game so far where like one or two dice difference would completely change the game yeah I think most recently was if I got that kill on that butcher it means the butcher's dead and my sniper still alive really would have liked to get that kill but unfortunately just didn't get it and I think I'm in some trouble here just because if we were even on points maybe I'd be okay but I don't know if I can make up that two-point Gap it's going to be tough yeah I mean I think it's going to come down to uh you know as always it's going to come down to dice but I will say I'd happily trade you killing my butcher for my heavy gunner making his shot and my plasma Gunner staying alive for another activation but uh yeah I think it's been a pretty back and forth game so far and you know there's not a lot of bodies left and one of mine has 1 HP so uh there's going to be even fewer pretty soon yeah I think initiative is going to be huge here even if I win I don't know if I can get the job done but um one thing that certainly does get the job done is this mat from Skirmish mats you've seen it before for the desolate Dunes mat is awesome if you want this mat the Link's in the description and we get some Kickback too so in a uh potentially crucial initiative role Brad wins but in the Strategic phase he's not going to play any and hang on to his one command point and I'm going to play imp placable for free just thinking about mutagenic flesh I don't know which one's better uh we'll see uh no tack Ops to feel we're all fully revealed and so we get into the game basically the perfect situation is set up for this heavy Bolter uh I'm going to start by shooting Vick's leader I can roll all dice of one result because I haven't moved I gave it the uh the equipment damn yeah your Leader's dead then I can shoot the shrive Talon well luckily I got those read rolls give me a six bro the results of this dice roll are Patron exclusive so if you're not a patron please skip ahead uh to after these dice are resolved don't even okay well yeah you got it I saw you you're not a patron you just watch these dice illegally get out of here what are you doing or just be a patron yeah uh you could join the ranks of our one HP gangsters and mountain goats and be a goat or gangster yourself or we love the Mountaineers yep we do uh yeah thanks folks you're keeping it all together and we really appreciate every single one who signs up and uh hangs out with us so yeah thank you and back to the game uh I did have to spend a CP there for aaries training to be able to shoot twice so I'm back down to zero but I think I mean what else am I going to use on yeah I mean I thought I was supposed to be the team getting double kills that uh that hurts so now uh I got one guy left and he's going to do what he does best so I'm going to tap this point quickly and then charge and fight the missile guy so yeah I mean no surprise here on this fight I'm going to take four wounds and then get the kill and score another Victory point for route and that's the Turning Point a nice two activation turning point three yeah so I'm actually not behind by that much but the unfortunate thing is like next turn my one guy alive can't get to any objectives that matter and I can't score any more of my tack Ops so I've lost and that's another Victory on the channel for the legionaries the Scouts came closer this time yeah they did for sure I really do feel like one or two dice rolls of difference could have let me win you know like if I had killed your butcher there I think I had a real shot there were a couple other times too obviously you had some really bad roles where if you rolled better you would have won by even more yeah but um yeah I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of them even though I lost they seem like one of those teams that's going to take a lot of repetitions to like really know not only like the best way to play the pregame but how it works for like your play Style and what you want to do with them yeah um and you know one thing I've learned from this game is that I really like this beta Desma terrain as open world kill team terrain it worked great I think it works really well there's a lot of good places to hide there a ton of Vantage points and uh some good obscuring in the middle of the map I'm uh I'm pretty happy with it I do like the scouts even though they're 0 for two but you know it'll be interesting to play them against a team that doesn't have 3 APL yeah you know cuz I've only play them against kind of Elites I'd love to try them into
