hey Chloe my favorite film editor so I've got a tiny super quick favor to ask of you just like one favor but I've got this video with like a lot of Clips in it but it's totally exported I don't know where the project file is subtitles and titles and can you like do that for me yeah great oh my God oh my God you're like the best film at it ever like I knew it that Hanks bye well have you ever in situation like this you have to edit from an exported footage you need to add b-roll to it add text to it find a specific scene they require well I can show you a trick that saves us a lot of time keep watching hi everyone it's Chloe from monasher for more here to empower your inner Video Creator today I'll be showing you a tool that saves you lots of time while editing occasionally we might get caught in situations that we must edit from exported footage just to rework and edit add text or at b-roll scene detection is an advanced editing tool which allows you to detect different scenes automatically for instance here's a video file that I have imported I need to get some shots for another project I am working on to do this you can right click the imported video and select the scene detection option once you've clicked on it the scene detection panel will pop up simply click detect and let for more do the hard work for you for more we'll find the cut points in the original file and they will be separated into smaller segments in seconds you can double click on the segments to preview if you are satisfied click add to the timeline all segments will be then moved to the video track on the timeline now let's see what we can do with this let's say you just need one scene for another project just delete all the other clips and Export the one you need make sure you're exporting in the format of the actual project or maybe you just need to make a shorter version of a long video for social media go through the timeline and with just a few clicks we can remove and adjust the shots accordingly and there you have it you've saved yourself some precious editing time or for instance if you need to add some title screens between scenes to emphasize a different topic simply drag and drop the title slates where the scenes change make some minor adjustments and you'll be good to go moving forward you can make changes or just find the clips you need and Export them individually I hope this helps you out and you don't have to re-edit footage frame by frame if you want to learn other editing tools or editing tips let us know in the comments thanks for watching and don't forget to like And subscribe for new videos on the channel keep creating and see you next time
