San Francisco 4/20: Thousands chill at Hippie Hill

is funded through donations from partnerships such as State Farm, FEMA, and PG and E. Golden Gate Park was packed today as thousands of people rolled up to Hippie Hill for an unofficial 420 celebration this year. The official event to mark the day was canceled due to budget cuts, but it did not stop picnic groups from setting up camp, many with lawn chairs and coolers. Several food trucks were on hand as well. Since there was no official sponsor for the gathering. A coalition of local groups and businesses came together to act as what they called stoner safety. >> What we're running around doing is making sure everybody's got plenty of water. We brought about 10,000 bottles of water out here to make sure that everybody stays well hydrated. We're also trying to be the liaison between the stoners and the police, and everything that's going on. So we're just really here to make sure everybody is safe. We also brought some medics down just in case there's any problems. So we're we're doing everything we can to keep people safe
