Sam Garofalo: Data Scientist at the NBA

[Applause] I'm Sam Gere follow I graduated from the data Science Institute in 2017 and I now work at the National Basketball Association on the basketball strategy and analytics team I'm a data scientist here then bi uses data science I think across the entire organization one recent thing that we've been doing is the seasoning competition structure project where we've been working with not only the basketball side but also the business side on trying to figure out what the most optimal season structure is going to be in the future and what other properties that we can possibly add like new tournaments so we've been looking at possibly a midseason tournament a preseason tournament a play and tournament before the playoffs and so all those different things we've been analyzing we are impacting the future of the game [Music] [Applause]
