y'all welcome back to another Bama saltwater fishing video awesome day we're going to keep it simple and easy I've been using a popping Fork the whole afternoon with some live shrimp that was in my angle if you notice I don't have any more left because we had a great day so y'all sit back relax and let's get to fishing and it's crazy today so the Jetties they were a little hairy to go sit at so I decided to just come back in some back bays and fish I am running a popping cork setup this is a Fairhope rattle popping Port locally made great people they're on my website Bama saltwater.com if you want to pick them up and they just make an amazing sound now under this popping cork I'm running about three foot of 20 pound yosuri fluorocarbon leader a small split shot weight and this is a size 4 kale Hook by mustad and where's fishing see if we can find us some trout Reds you never know what you're gonna catch it's a transition period right now time of filming this video it's been a warm week real windy popping cork setup allows you to cover some decent water keep that bait suspended and we'll see if we can catch us some fish oh popping quartz down oh swimming towards me there we go ah came off I was sitting there messing with the trolling motor and that's usually when you get a bite when you start doing something well let's get another bait Castle back out where I lost that fish see the good thing about these corks is they make that loud noise and with live bait all I do is let my bait sit there a little bit give it a pop every you know half a minute or so and it will draw in surrounding fish so you can fish in dirty water windy days clear water off the beach in the in the bay off docks the only time I wouldn't really fish it is off a tall tall Pier like the State Park pier because it doesn't effectively have enough weight to work but other than that popping corks are very very versatile oh there's one got it this time have it this time put that nice little hook set on it see what this is going to be oh it's fighting good hmm pretty fish what is that trout or red man that's a trout that's a good one it is a trout come on man that's a solid trout oh yeah that's a big one there I'd say she's a keeper what about y'all they have to be 15 to 22 inches in the state of Alabama speckled trout do you're allowed six a person and you can keep one over slot but majority of the time you want to get those back because those are your breeder fish spawns coming up especially this time of year and so you want them to be able to go back and make more so you can continue catching them like this let's see what she measures out real quick that's a 21 inch fish so we're going to keep this one for dinner beautiful fish big old yellow mouth they absolutely love getting fat this time of year check that out so this one's going in the cooler thank you fishy yo what a blessing to be able to catch that fish and have something to take home and I'm getting a phone call let me get this real quick I'm gonna grab another shrimp and we'll put that on the hook hopefully we can catch another one let's get the shrimp out see what else we can get else right off this grass Edge I love when a textbook plan comes together see an opening like this some grass bait transitional period like we're in it's awesome oh got another one have another fish on yeah I think we found them I think we found them that's awesome a little rat red beautiful little rat red check that out this one's too small in the state of Alabama redfish do have to be 16 to 26 inches and you're allow three a person you're allowed one out of those three oversized this one ain't full grown yet so he gets to go back there he goes yeah we're catching fish that's all that counts right there let's keep on baiting up and see what else we get let's get a cast a little bit further in there we go third shrimp third fish on this little corner so that is awesome what is that a Lady Fish okay so that's our first kind of trash fish for the day they are fun to catch they're exciting to catch they look cool they do jump a lot and they're pretty much fun for everybody they are edible but they do require some work you don't just flame up and eat them he's going to go back make great bait live bait for some bigger fish and they make great cut bait as well and crab trap bait but hey that's cool all these Predator fish are sent over here in this little Ambush spot let's keep on fishing oh that's fun all I do with the shrimp is hook it right where that horn meets the body go side to side and it'll look real natural on the hook this way suspended and stay alive pretty good cast back out there we go just like I said previously every now and then give it a pop but majority of the time you want your live bait to do most of the work for you oh I have it I think I do yeah I have something okay it was just swimming towards me that was weird what is it oh man that's a gorgeous redfish wow it's not big but it's pretty look at that four spots on that side four spots on this side perfect hook set with that kale hook time to let this little buddy go it'll get big I'll come back and catch you in your slot that is awesome they're not Giant but there are fun they're exciting and picture worthy too hot sent up here somewhere corks back down this is instant action I mean as soon as I cast out there's a fish now they're getting smaller by the minute though it's like one of my tiniest speckled trout ever set records here not big ones so let's Let It Go there you go buddy I'm gonna keep these fish out as little as you can get you a picture throw them back so they can get bigger and you can come back and catch them this just shows you how effective fishing this way really is you can throw like Voodoo shrimp under here too you can throw little spoons slick lures Rapala jerk baits those are your jerk baits you can throw practically anything under this popping cork it's that cork that makes that noise and draws in the fish and then they chase whatever's after it um there you are alrighty y'all this is crazy lots of fish back here a bunch of these smaller red fish don't let him go there you go check them out that's a different one because the spots are different where's your bigger buddies at than anyone can do you don't have to have a boat you don't have to have a kayak you tie you on a popping cork on just a simple inshore setup bass setup and you can come out and catch some fish you don't even have to have live bait live bait does work pretty good but throw you a voodoo under there or throw you some fresh cup bait under there you're bound to catch something oh there we go that's what I'm talking about that's what you want them to do is just smoke it yeah buddy not a bad red let me grab one of my favorite tools to get this kale hook out of them just like that these things are awesome these little baker hookouts it always stays on the boat but y'all that's a nice redfish it's got to go back though it's going to be just under the limit they smoked that shrimp so here we go and he's gone [Music] there's a fish what are you what are you pretty mangrove snapper nice add him to the species of the day nice mangrove snapper state of Alabama they have to be 12 inches minimum so he's a 10 incher he's got to go back but these are phenomenal eating they're called mangrove snapper gray Snapper black snapper but all we know is they taste good and they got to be 12 inches there he goes I'm putting on another live shrimp see what else we can catch I just saw a nice boil right there I don't know from what there you are as soon as I put it in there got another fish there we go another pretty mangrove not gonna be a keeper but you can tell spring is here and coming pretty quickly because these guys start showing up in bigger numbers there you go Bud gotta let you go I mean nice to take home something else but have that really pretty trout that's always awesome hmm another decent fish pulling pretty good on the popping Court let's see here bring your boat side oh man another nice redfish I've lost count of how many Reds I've caught today not big ones but they're still fun look at the colors on him these Bayou Reds are beautiful there you go man I only have a few more shrimp left then it's time to go that was a nice red see what else is hanging out here oh corks down again and we have another fish on dang they're stacked up right there wow they are stacked for sure it's a quantity over quality today but that's not a bad redfish it's awesome tell us another really pretty redfish check them out got that perfect dot on his tail that's cool these are awesome species to catch they're fun they do taste good when you can keep them but they fight hard so he's another gotta let it go let it grow one that's awesome though hmm I mean stacked right there that's awesome it's crazy how many redfish are just hanging out there oh this is a mangrove well it's crazy how many Mangrove are hanging out there wow look at the colors check out the colors on this one amazing fish really pretty measured out to be 11 inches unfortunately so well I guess fortunately for him unfortunately for me it's got to go back there you go man I'm down to just a couple shrimp left oh and there's another one come on be a keeper redfish that would be nice but I don't think it's going to be it's a red though just not a keeper instant cast instant bite doesn't get much better than that there you go Bud just keeping it simple today having fun bringing back the basics it's hard to beat that 3-2 Bobbers town fish is on wow say that every time say wow a lot but this is just cool you don't see it like this too often whereas just one after another after another look at his three little dots there that's cool how can you complain about catching fish as long as you don't catch a catfish oop I said it I said the word hopefully on this last shrimp we don't do that this is my very last shrimp if we can put it to use I cast a little bit further out and a fish on the last shrimp see if we can get it in the boat it's always a good thing this time it's a mangrove finishing it out strong not a keeper they look like a bluegill don't they they taste good too but when they're a legal size he's not there you go ma'am well that was my last shrimp I have no more shrimp left so we're going to close out this video and I'm gonna head home so I hope you all enjoyed this video once again my setup is a Daiwa saltist mq 2500 15 pound braid star plasma 2 7 foot medium heavy fast action rod and then I have a size four mustache kale hook come up a little bit and put a split shot on this is 20 pound yazuri fluorocarbon about three foot of it and a Fairhope rattle popping cork you get these corks leader split shot hooks on bamasaltwater.com but that's a very simple setup right there I hope you enjoyed this video I was just trying to keep it simple and
