you hey it's Carol saltbox stitcher today is April night in the midst of staycation I'm either late or early depending on how you look at it I think when I did my last video I was gonna try to come back in two weeks and show some of my samplers on the wall and that didn't happen and the reason it didn't happen okay to be real i video on my husband's laptop I have an iPad but I've never videoed on it and I don't know how to I could probably figure it out but as far as uploading it and all that stuff in the future sometime I'd like to be able to do shorter videos and more often on my lap on my iPad but anyway he's been working on taxes he's been working he's been using his laptop a lot so I didn't really want to say hey let's let's go do a tour of the house plus you know when you're home all the time um my house is a mess you know there's something okay here's a story well first what I was gonna get back to if you thought I was gonna come back in two weeks I'm late if you're looking for me a month from my last video then that would be next week so I'm a little early but okay so one time years ago I went to a retreat with my sister and my kids were I think Lindsay was like 13 and Josh was maybe nine and a really good friend of mine came over while I was gone my husband was home I flew to visit my sister and go to a retreat and a good friend of mine came over and cleaned my house now that's a really nice gesture but I was kind of appalled because you know it's like do you really want to have people see how dirty your house really was or how dusty or you know she made a meal and you know left a note it said something like I cleaned your oven for you cuz it looked like it needed okay nevermind so when I leave the house I try to leave the house tidy and you know just in case something happened and I die okay but would come into my house and it'd be like oh my goodness she was a terrible housekeeper but when you're home all the time it's like you know I just haven't tidied as much so my house hasn't been as presentable oh all that to say hi how are you welcome to saltbox stitcher video number 21 um I've been a monogamous stitcher this month so I really don't have a lot of to show you as far as what I've been stitching so I thought I'd show you some stache dive um this is a video about cross stitch and a little quilting I watched Brenda and Laura the serial starter and I know most of you do too and they've done kind of a parade of Blackbird designs and so I thought oh maybe I'll show some of my Blackbird stuff that I have kidded and I started loose feathers Club whenever it came out I'm not sure I want to say early 2000s something like that and I was at a shop called the Old Mill stitchery at a retreat that was called the primitive gathering no yeah I think that was Cindy muffin now there's really primitive gathering with Lisa in Wisconsin but I think that was the name of the retreat anyway they were in the process of mailing out number two and it was a club you joined the club and the patterns and charts were all exclusive to the club and at the time they still had some number ones available so I said well I want number one and I want number two and I want to be on the mailing list and I really can't remember I think I've mentioned this before I can't remember if it came out every other month or once a quarter but anyway the old mill stitchery would give you a piece of linen that it called for on the chart and which most of us which 30 count and then they would give you the floss but they didn't charge you for whole schemes because they would take skeins apart and put them in little plastic bags so you you had what you needed but you didn't necessarily have the entire skein it was good for them because that way they could you know save money as far as ordering tons of full skeins and if you only needed a little bit then it was sort of silly to get a whole scheme anyway that was when over dyed threads were first kind of coming into existence and so I continued that Club my sister was there at the time and she signed up to but I think she stopped somewhere you know maybe about 15 she felt like she was getting too many of them and she wasn't stitching them so I didn't seem to bother me cuz anyway I have a whole bunch of them because I have every loose feathers that was ever published plus almost every other blackbird chart there's a few I'm missing but almost every other so I thought well I could dive into that and show you all my loose feathers well how fun is that to show you stuff that's not even available anymore not now there is um a gal named Patricia Geary and she's on Facebook I think that's the fans of Blackbird designs thing on Facebook so you have to join and I do believe she has a lending library I'm sure she has pretty strict requirements that you have to send it back in a certain amount of time so I think some of these you could probably get your hands on just but it would be an effort I know some of them have been on eBay and I'm telling you all this but I'm not sure I'm not showing you I'm telling you why I'm not showing you in your room that's like a double negative anyway um maybe at some point I'll show you some of those because some of them I stitched but not all of them and now it's like do I want to go back and stitch it on the original 30 count or do I want to switch out the linen and I don't have a problem stitching on 30 32 you know but it generally means two strands that use two strands of floss and I've gotten so used to using one strand that I'm kind of spoiled so that's the dilemma anyway all that just say I went stash diving in another direction so I'll go over that in a minute but I did want to show you what my monogamous stitching has been and I just got started on this and I just I just really didn't want to put it down I wanted to finish it it's a big sampler I think I mentioned last time that I had started it and I actually started it and I'm talking about Mary bars and I actually started it this is the antique and you have to keep in mind sometimes the designer will picture the antique and sometimes they will picture a stitch model of the reproduction charge so anyway I actually started it on March 5th which was a Thursday at a group of gals that get together and I talked about this last time so I don't want to be redundant but anyway and everything I stitched that day I had to take out so I really officially started it six and I finished it let's see today's Thursday I finished it Tuesday night which was the seventh now technically that was almost five weeks some people say oh that's just a month but it's technically five weeks but I really had I really didn't want to put it down and there's a lot of motifs in it and here and I I think this is one that I'm going to send off to be framed I can't afford to get everything framed I just can't um so sometimes I put it in my stash and I don't necessarily get I'm sort of like Nicole Nicole's me you know she goes through her old bin of all these cross-stitch things and and the easy thing to say is well I'm a process stitcher I just like the process yeah that's not true I'd love to have everything frame but you know it's pricey I don't unless you do framing yourself and even then you know if you go buy a custom frame like it even happy lobby or Joanne's or some of those they're not they're not really cheap I mean so anyway all that to say this one I really do want to get it framed right away I don't even know if you can see it all in one picture it measures about twenty-two by twenty five and I'll show you half in half at a time it's Mary bars it's by Stacy Nash it was originally a kit from country sampler and the kit came with 36 count weeks parchment and I think I talked about that last time it's not this Veigar face it's not my very favorite linen however and I talked about this to take a piece of 20 you know 26 by 26 or what it was probably bigger than that was probably piece 30 by 30 something like that linen and just toss it in my stash and pull something else out I just couldn't see doing that because to me that's kind of wasting women because there's if I'm not gonna like it to stitch this I'm probably not gonna like it this dip something else on so I throw it back in my stash I wish it had been done on 40 but it wasn't it's bigger that's the that's the upside of stitching on 36 it's bigger so here's the other side I'll try to show you this is the bottom half see I can't see what you're seeing so and last weekend I spent the entire weekend which I was very very proud like the shining star I spent the entire weekend Saturday and Sunday I mean I did other stuff but I stitched 8 to 10 hours each day just to do the silver one so I'm not really really fast but I did full crosses and I've gone back and forth about over one it's not my favorite but I love I love love now the name part of it the over one I had done that before this part but I knew I had this big section of verse coming up and I didn't want to wait till the very end or it'd be like Esther Edison write us in that I'd put away which I'm hoping to get back to this weekend I'm not a super fan of over one and the main reason is because for me to get my stitches to look decent I really need to use a hoop mmm I don't normally stitch with a hoop I probably hold the hoop too tight it tends to give me a little bit of a not really a cramp but just as tiring to meet a hold of and to stitch in and out in and out and I can honestly say sort of if I had to stitch in and out in and out I I wouldn't stitch near as much as I do now that's a profound statement because I know there's a lot of people that go in and out and they love it and but for me because I use a sewing motion and I can just like go go go go go and I stitch my needle stays on top of my linen and except obviously when I go to the back to end a thread or whatever start a thread I I don't know there's to me that motion are going in and out just becomes a little bit tiring now maybe it's because I'm doing over one and I could deny this in a half an hour and say well I'm nursing that's just who I am anyway so I spent the entire month working on that piece so when it's time to do a video it's like what am I gonna show I just have one thing that's fish so goodbye no I'm kidding so then last night I was like okay you never did April wordplay by Brenda Gervais and I showed you the March one last time that I had finished so last night I started the April one that's where I am I was almost tempted to change some of the colors but I didn't this is gonna say Easter eggs at stuff I was tired and I just said okay I'm done but I'm hoping to finish that tonight here's the chart so I still have the bunny in the wagon and all that to do and I'll work on a little this afternoon because I haven't been quilting as much I do have about 12 quilts in there to do but you know people aren't wanting to come get them because of all this staying at home stuff which by the way well this is over don't you think we ought to have a national haircut are we all like oh my goodness I need a haircut yeah okay that was a side line um yeah people just aren't like oh come over and get my quote sure now there have been some people that have said well if you'll send it on the front porch I'll leave a check in your mailbox but one lady she usually gets me three or four quilts and I usually call her in a month and say they're finished well it got to be like April 2nd I hadn't called her even though I had finished her quilt and she called me and she's listen I usually hear from you at the end of the month and I'm like yeah they're done and I didn't know if you wanted to come get him just go so yeah I just hate him yes sir the passenger side of my car so I did so that all worked out anyway I did actually stitch a teeny bit on and I just grabbed stuffing cookies and bags so there's gonna be rustling not cattle rustling I saw this last year at dying to stitch retreat I think your inner pad might have been working on it but I also was watching stitching with Ricci if you don't watch her you should what you're missing out and um she went to the cruel goblin she lives in Australia and she went to the cruel goblin which is I think it's a ways away from her house but it's her local store and they had a whole display of red and white stuff and so I thought well I have that I'm gonna get that out so I did start on that am i showing the right side yeah and this is actually a four sided stitch and you do two rows of that this is on winter brew I don't know if it's I think it's 40-count winter brew by R&R reproductions call an a dine to stitch and she will hook you up with some winter brew these stores we have to support them while they're suffering anyway I have a small spool and I I'm gonna put some kind of 12 fabric on the back of this and wrap it and then I'm gonna use this which actually came off of a kid and I'm going to tie that around the spool once it's finished and then I'm also gonna tie a little thing of well I have two pairs of these little tiny bow and scissors one time a gal said to me all Carol I'm so sorry you can't afford their scissors these are more expensive and bigger suits but whatever say the weirdest stuff alright I wish I had written a book years ago I can just keep adding to it people say the weirdest I don't know why I don't know anyway their little bow and scissors they make them a bigger pair - and you gonna for bigger scissors anyway I'm gonna tie that on to some how long did this and I'm gonna put it on a little spool I put my spools away I had a lot of them out and I put them away when I decorated for Christmas I'm not sure what box I put them in but I can find you so anyway I need to finish that because did I show you the pattern surely I showed you the pattern yes they did it's L genders 1875 it's by Brenda Gervais with a needle and thread it's gonna be a really quick stitch there is some over one but hello I'm so accomplished now I don't have one oh and what color am I using I am using ruby slippers I'm not sure if that's what it calls for yes it is my gentle art which is a great red are there any really bad Reds really what do you think about it I don't think so so in that same vein I thought well I love that little display that they had at cruel Goblin on stitching with Ricci and so I pulled some other red stitching that I want to do this is the little red work in keep and this she actually had it in made into a pinky and you just have to go watch her video so this is one side of it so you do it in one big long and then you fold it in half so this would be your top half and then that's the bottom half and for that I'm using in this speech brew I have a great big piece I haven't started it yet it is a 40 count Beach brew I have a great big piece so it's gonna do sabiĆ” sprays on it and I changed my mind on what I'm gonna do save your sprays so anyway I'm going to use Gloriana schoolhouse red because that is the best friend in the whole wide world bar none so I know Brenda said she stitches on a small piece like in the morning before she goes to work and then she stitches on a bigger piece at night no I don't stitch in the morning I usually stay up till 1:30 so when I get up at 8:30 I'm like can I see anything all I really want to see is my coffee I get my first cup of coffee I'm okay I could probably stitch but it's not like I'm doing it although I've been doing laundry and cooking are we not just cooking cooking cooking what the heck it's just my husband Timmy Turner I'm cooking I'm just eating more I guess you know in January Weight Watchers has a huge just like explosion of new members because it's after the holidays well it's gonna be the same way after Corona ends gets better o people I talk to my sister and she was like all I want is desserts and I'm like all I want is salty snacks which by the way when my daughter was going through cancer I thought french fries the only food that you could possibly eat so I definitely need to work on top anyway wanna talk about that bats too depressing so I have two more pieces of bread things that I want to stitch because why not it's red this is a piece of 40-count french vanilla also from R&R also call anodyne de stitch and she'll hook you up I think time to stitch his glory on I know they have NPI so if they have any schoolhouse red you might want to get that for that other project but anyway this is 40-count french vanilla and that's what i'm going to do this Harriet brown red works smoothly oh this one was called the little red pin keep by Stacy Nash and this one is also by stations Stacy Nash which also Mary bars was by Stacy - I'm on a stacy kick and this one you do it in a long piece and then you fold it in half so you have these kind of sporadic alphabet and then you have some rose somebody must have just been practicing the great dilemma with this is d carrier threads so I'll have to play with that because I really don't want to start every single letter but then with a fresh start of thread I will be carrying I think and you know if you carry a thread okay how do I explain this you know we all make X's so depending on how you make your X you might end if your last X is from my last part of the X the second part of the X is from upper left to lower right you can either end on the lower right or you could end on the upper left depending on which way you make your stitch so if you're gonna carry carry the shortest distance does that make sense so in other words if it's a shorter distance to end in the upper left and then your next stitch you're gonna start in the top right for that first half of your X you have a shorter distance to carry than you do if you're going think about it so when you make an X you can either end it up here up here or you can end it down I know what I'm saying I'm sorry if that's confusing so anyway for that one which is called the Harriet Brown red work sampler pinky I'm going to be using NPI 226 and I have no idea why I have three skeins here because it will not decay Silk NPI is needlepoint ink silk shirt I'm 99% positive they have that dyeing justice so and then last year when I was at country sampler I got the kit for this this is in the Blackbird ooh la la book and there's tons of red and red stitching in here if you really want to concentrate on red stitching this is I think the antique that they made into a bag I think it says that you see refer to page 10 for the picture of this antique sampler which was researched into a sewing bag but they gave the ingredients and that one is called the petite Mon petite exemplar you like my French okay so it was a kit at country sampler last year so you got the legacy linen you got the really pretty ribbon to put in your bag and you got a piece of Jeannie's the owner and she also does fabric lines and this is one of the pieces from one of her fabric lines I don't know if they still have these kits or not but if they don't they can give you all this stuff and then it came with the threads I'm not sure why it had a skein of BMC in here but it cost for silks and crunchy sampler does not carry silks but they did put silks in these packages it has two colors that kind of grayish tan and then that pinkish so I want to do that so there's like four projects that I want to do of red because I'm following the wall not that there's a gliese gonna come get me if I don't follow the law but that's what Laura says so we all follow the law okay so I've talked about all of that okay mm-hmm so then I think first I'll show you a few more things that I got from market and then I'll talk about what I want to talk about next but you don't know because I'm told it but you'll find out I got this one kidded a shepherd's song and I got it kidded from dying to stitch they did not have the exact Lenin and I actually think I'm missing a few of the threads but I got some 40-count Old Town blend to put that on and I haven't put them on a ring yet this isn't in my immediate future to stitch it no I can't forget this red this used brick very pretty palette there are some DMC's it's by Plum Street I don't know if I said that so this was a market release Shepards song my plum street sorry I'm trying to get the glare to go away says my goodness and mercy follow thee all the days of your life I love that verse so anyway that was a market my dad we laugh about this my daughter years ago I think she was in high school and her and a couple friends were talking about if you this is stupid yeah subject but anyway they were talking about what would you yell if you were like in a fire or something most people would say how hair one of her friends said panic seriously you'd yell panic so that's kind of a joke in our family so if I wasn't recording I kept you one of those days one of those days I got this one kidded from country sampler another Stacie Nash in the Halle Berry Farm series this is the stables at Halle Berry Farm this was a market release it skidded with 36 count winter brew and there's losses oh I really want to start that really really want to start that cuz I've done summer winter no Christmas summer I have and Halloween I haven't done spring I think I want to do this before I do spring you okay as far as market stuff I don't I don't know if I showed you these things last time or not cuz I ordered a lot of stuff online so it came a different telling us this was kidded by country sampler have I ever made one of these pin deck discs thank you um this is the hydrangea one but she has the cardboard in it or the cardboard templates I think yes you need some cotton batting anyway and then country sampler that's it this one else has 36 count Patriots blue and then this one has Patriots brew and this one also by Staci Nash's the pink firm Rose I've never made one of these the stitching obviously is pretty easy pretty fast so I may have to make one of these before next time before my next video just see how de and you know it calls for these four it doesn't give you these black pins straight pins that go around the edge and maybe their beads but I think their pins because it's a thin disc and I think I read the instructions that it's a pin disc but um one time years ago I took a class from Blackbird and alma said she actually dies the heads of pins you know the glass head so if you had some white ones I can't remember what she put him in to die him so I don't have to think about that I'm sure my sister was there she might remember but I remember she you know left him in this solution it might have been paint but you think of paint wouldn't stick to those so I don't I don't know I have to think about that I also have some black headed pins but they're the heads are smaller you might be able to get them on Amazon and neck with the dying thing this one is the berry basket so I got all three of these kittens because I also got this I did not get this kidded this is a red work and this was actually a class kit from I think country sampler at one time one of their classes it has a little scissors keeper strawberry a pin disc it's just adorable and it says red work it looks brown but it's actually done with red brick it's the color but it also o costs for other colors because of the other pieces but I think the main color of the brick and I really want to make that but I need to get some of this silk seam tape I think they might have that country same thing and then I got this one did not everybody get this one I'm not gonna stitch it on to I I've stitched things where I've sewn the two pieces together it's kind of tedious it you can do it but it's kind of tedious especially when you have stitching that you're matching up your almost better to stitch the linen together and then do the stitching does that make sense so the linen to two pieces together and then stitch in between for just that cartouche at least but I'll probably do one piece of linen but do you not just love this look at this that would just be the cutest little pin whatever that's the wonderful thing about this it's almost like it's you know a glossary of glossary that's our news every day of various bold patterns and that was a collaboration between heartstrings Sam Korey and scarlet house the other collaboration that I liked a token for my friend by Plum Street and then sewn in friendship but no token for my friend is by heartstrings Sam flurry and sewn in friendship is platform Street I think this would be adorable sewn in one if they actually go like this because the two parts match up and make a big pillow and give it to yourself our friend dear Carol you are my best friend these are some of the Brundage of AI once I got spring serenade I won't stitch that till next year's coffee first I think this is adorable Brenda gervase site country stitches online and she's kind of delayed and opening it I'm assuming because she likes to give the stores that she sells to wholesale the first opportunity to sell her patterns but she is open now it's country stitches online.com and she has even the little spoons and all that good stuff for some of these these are all Brenda Gervais Harry Etta and company and I did I did the Halloween one set up pumpkin I don't remember I did it but I haven't finished finished it I have a lot of stuff for fall that I need to f fo Baltimore salt box I also ordered the box and I ordered it from country stitches online it comes unpainted so I have to paint it and wax it and Miletus the berry keeper she's adorable and this one your heart and my heart are very old fence that's just pretty some of these are over one stitching oh I forgot to get there's a I should go give it I'll show it next time there's a series called the schoolhouse series that with a needle and thread did and it's all these small little pillows and they're all over one and I had originally started it on the 28 count mushroom the Madonna I kind of put it away because I thought this isn't for me but in my my effort to really gear up for the over one stitching on Mary bars and Esther I decided just bite the bullet and get out something work on it over one and get it out of your you know head that you don't like it because you might just end up loving it that hasn't happened yet but there's still hope but um I did find that I could get into a rhythm and now over one I generally do half a stitch and then come back and cross it when I'm stitching with my sewing method in hand I do a full cross with a few exceptions if I'm doing and I've told you this before if I'm doing a vine on a border and there's a leaf I will oh I will do half and then come back so I come back to my border without having to slide my needle underneath on the back I don't like to turn my work over but I'll do it obviously to end my thread but if I can avoid sliding my needle through previous stitches I will avoid that so I am totally out of order on my list so let me just look at some of the things I wanted to talk about okay that was some of my new market stuff some of the other stuff I got I got a bad guy I got a bag I ordered this from Christy at cross hatch quilts they're very reasonable if you're on Instagram you can send her a message through Instagram cross hatch quilts they're beautiful this is French General fabric I will be ordering more because I think they're wonderful and she when I told her I got it she said Oh what are you gonna put in it well I put in it my um sewing Club book yeah mine has a little but it seems to be going away I've kid it up a couple not totally but a couple things in here that I want a stitch I want to stitch this one and I have a piece of the sang sanguine weak sanguine I'm not sure that's why you say it sang one lemon 30 36 count when that turns into a drum when it grows up there's another one that brenda talked about she wanted to do and it's done on that 28 count weeks gingham linen this one which will take two strands but it's so cute why not and then I could do everyone in this book it's so fabulous if you don't have this sewing club book shame on you because I also want to do this Holly Hawkes Holly Hoffs hollyhocks were always there that's whose wife and I ordered haven't gotten it yet the medium sized matchbox cuz I'm gonna do this one I have the small matchbox we got it last year at UM stitch camp in country sampler which is also a pattern in here but I always I already had the kit that was for this one which is over one and this is the small matchbox it was just a clear idea there just clever so I've shown you my bag oh the other thing I have in the bag the Christie bag is merrily merrily and I really want to get back to this and finish it merrily merrily we welcome spring bye blackbird so I'm down to about here I may work on that this weekend you know when you finish a big project then you kind of go through this what do I stitch now it's like you're um for me it's like if if my mom would take me into like a bakery she'd say okay you could pick out one thing like uh I don't think I can do that so that's what my stash is like okay you can pick out one thing that you're gonna work out and I could start a bunch of stuff but I already have like 15 or 16 whips I got Red Deer I have seven sheep I have Charlotte Clayton I just have some of those that I merrily merrily I need to pick back up but anyway so I came up with this idea watch out my ideas are just like sometimes they're dangerous remind me at the end I don't know how you're gonna remind me remind me um I have to do quilts show you some calls but I try to do that at the end just in case people are like I could care less because it is primarily about cross stitch so um I thought I thought about doing this for mania and then I thought it'd be kind of fun to just to finish the whole year stitching pieces that have red houses and there's a lot of them trust me there's a lot of them so Mary bars well no my first sampler I did this year was the red house sampler so what a great start and yes I fit I fixed the e how people were like just leave the e and put a note on the back I was like mmm sorry I'm not OCD but I am I do like things to be so that was my first one that I finished in January and obviously has a red house it's a second one and I'm calling this finished because I only have the over one so I'm gonna try to get that done this weekend and this is Esther Edison oh the first one red house sampler was by the sampler company I bought my pattern at Silver Needle in Tulsa they do have a lot of sampler company charts you can go on their website or call them I think they're still you know they're closed to the public but I think they're still filling orders so some of these shops that are just filling orders sometimes it's just the owner they're filling orders so we need to be patient because it's not like we don't have anything to stitch and you know sometimes they might only come in from like 11:00 to 3:00 or something so let's give them all a break anyway this is Esther Edison by chessy and me and so that was the second one that I finished the old hanging quotation marks anyway so right there are three things that I have done this year I've done other stuff but primarily samplers then I'll have red houses so I thought hmm at least until like I stitch maybe east like I really want to do ghouls tied welcome which is by Plum Street I've done yield tide I've done Liberty welcome so I really wanted to do and I've let's see yeah I've done those two Liberty welcome you'll side which is Christmas Liberty is patriotic so I really want to do ghoul tide um somebody's stitching her to visit eclectic possessions she's stitching it I think anyway I have it all kitted I want to start it but I don't want to start it to like maybe August so up until then I'm going to stick to oh this is what I say today so we'll see but I want to stick you know there's too many squirrels and stitching there's just too many squirrels anyway I finished a thought Carol I want to stick to red house pieces so obviously I've collected a stash dye of red house pieces I mean they're all over the board they're small answers big ones there's probably some that are current some that are maybe older the first I'm gonna show you this is country sampler heart pin keep by Stacy Nash I think that's adorable there's something about the way this big I think I'd do more of a a little bit more of a regular heart shape not sure but I love that house the girl the dog the border that's just adorable I just don't like the shape of the heart but number one there's another one and I didn't take these on the package I'll try to make the Blair so you you know these two are by Stacy Nash country sampler schoolgirl sampler spring sewing bag and some of these are older they say country sampler because there was a club by Stacy Nash through country sampler but I think a lot of these are available now or you could call country sampler spring-green Wisconsin their website is SG country sampler dot-com this is a new one that just came out sweetheart hill by Plum Street I don't think I'm gonna put this words I think I'm just gonna come on glare go away go I like the girl and the guy loved the Red House these are just a few there are tons of charts out there that have red houses this is bird song by samplers not forgotten this is a country sampler kit I really like that I'm gonna set that aside it might be one of the first ones this one I absolutely love and as far as I can tell there's no oral I'm stitching this is Lucy Calcutta 1825 now there's also in 1826 Lucy Kalka but this is the first one and this is by just stitching along and I might just start this one first I have I have the embarrassed lost silks and it's done on light side 36 light exemplar but I have some 40 I'll do one 40 light exemplar I don't think there's any over one I love this piece of everything about it so that goes in the maybe next and there's this one o joyous day bye blackbird another red house and a big old bird and some big old flowers I could put this to the top not the list this one is 175 by 221 it's not that big and it's stitched on legacy it's kidded with a little ringing them typical blackbird colors on piece of 36 legacy you know legacy is kind of a chameleon some legacy it's by pictures plus the name of the colors legacy and some of them are very very green and others of them have more tan I like the greenish ones for some things but not for everything so I kind of have to pick and choose I would have preferred to do it on 40 picture this plus is a pretty tight weave if you compare a 36 picture this plus to a 36 weeks like the one I just finished Mary Barse there's a lot of difference in the tightness of the weave I don't know how they can do that and still both be 36 I don't know my brain doesn't comprehend that so it looks like I'm gonna have more things at the top of the list then there's um little birds I love this the houses aren't really red this would have to be you know there's always exceptions to every rule that's like grammar I before E except after C or when sounded as a neighbor no way remember that one exceptions so that could be my exceptions and that one is done on Heartland also vital to this cloth and I have a kit of threads from the Attic and the attic is now offering a silken version of this too if you're not watching the attic Glossop's shame on you now you've been shamed more than once because they're pretty wonderful and they're taking tours at the store and then you can call or email and say this is what I want ship it now and Carolyn who is also stash sisters is the sweetest deal in the whole wide world one of the sweetest oh I just and she will take it to the post office and mail it to you so it's pretty wonderful here's another one beautiful big red house this is a schoolgirl sampler kit for the school ABC schoolgirl needlework club that went on this year it's called the sending Sun and it's a by Singlish not forgotten okay I do not know if they have any more of these or not you know some of these things that were kits if they have extra and they're wanting to ship things out to get them keep their store open not physically but you can call that's country sampler that sent that wonderful wonderful wonderful also by samplers not forgetting forgetting forgotten you're a grand old flag I'm relearning to take that one out cuz that's what I'd like to see I've done a number of her she does some really nice charts Kimberly Nugent she also did the LW sampler that I did for my daughter which I need to have framed so grand old flag also a kit from country sampler and a lot of times if you get a kit from custard sampler they do occasionally have their own conversion so because they might do it on a little bit darker linen really want to start that here's a chassis and me peace and goodwill sampler this is a little more Christmasy so I could do that more like October ish November if I'm gonna continue doing this all year I don't know it just sounded really fun I don't think I could ever get tired stitching red houses I really don't and then there's Miss Lucy Calcott 1826 I don't know if this is a sister or a figure out did two of them I mean the same girl little girl because these are reproductions that's pretty wonderful to house that one's not kiddin so many red houses this is staying Baxter I've always wanted love the Red House the big fat turkey turkeys and I don't think this one has over one oh my goodness that mean that needs to go to the top of the list Jane Baxter by this is by victoria Rose nyl arts I originally got mine and I don't know where I got it it's not kid it's from country sampler I have 40 counts strong there it's not those like our face the next few this is Lucy's new shawls new shawl I know they have this at the attic in fact this is one that in their last video Caroline pointed out it stitched in on the wall 3 the reproduction this is by samplers remembered not to be confused with samplers not forgotten ok samplers remembered I think is yeah Linda Danielson I met her last year at the attic summer school samplers not forgotten is Kimberly this is another one by victoria Rose needle arts who don't have it kitted but this is Anna at concern I'm kind of partial to some of these ones that don't have over one there are a nice break I can just like go go though I might really want to get that hmm 40 count it ends up being oh it's 195 by 197 so it's not huge it's a disease this one is by scattered seed and it is called Mary Radcliffe it says cottage of content I think it has a little bit of over one the lower wording is stitched over one well if that's all I can plow through that I'm so sorry this Blair the only trouble with taking everything out is at the end you have to figure out what goes what back bag and you'd think you'd set them next to each other but I have ended up with the wrong bags and that's not really a dilemma Carol get over it marry Radcliffe's scattered seeds she was an Etsy shop a great Etsy shop so if you want to and her name is buh buh buh it's Tammy black I'm wrong forgive me this is a new one by Brenda Gervais we've all seen this some people have started it I think Nicole's needlework started it who else did I watch the other day that had started it I don't remember could have been Deb from country stitchers they're delightful if you don't watch them you should they're just a delightful I want to live in her house not really okay Carol you want out you're welcome you can go home now manner at Quaker Hill buy a Brenda Gervais love it lots of big flowers tiny red vests and of course this is a duh it's not bucks quilt sampler and so many people have said to me oh my surprise you haven't started that yet well I went to kid it up and it calls for a silk weaver golden oats I have no idea what color that is silk Weaver's hard to thought are hard to get a friend of mine has been to their shop in New Jersey and she said they just don't do very good online anyway I'm not trying to criticize anybody but what I've decided is first I need to decide what color I'm painting the box because I don't want the box to be you know kind of tinted toward tan and I end up using a grayish linen or vice versa so I need to get the paint first and Joe Anson Hobby Lobby and all those places are closed and I'm not gonna order paint online and be like ordering nail polish online not happening I mean I could order it online I just can't see the color well enough to know what I'm really getting so I want to decide what color I'm painting the box before I pick the linen for this I could go ahead there's quite a few DMC's on here which Brendan Gervais doesn't usually use what she may use DMC I actually thinks she charts in DMC and then she converts it to I think she said that or I dreamt it sometimes I dream stuff it's like it's really real whoops that is Mayo Clinic and I bet they're gonna cancel my cataract surgery anyway maybe they're not so I need to do that definitely need to do that when I decide and then here's something I've always wanted to do this is from the blackbird book shall I compare thee to a summers day I love the sampler on the back but that's the antique that they adapted from they didn't actually chart that they just charted pieces of it and this is what I want to do it's very similar to the house on Scarlet house is her logo has a similar house but I love that love it love it love it and it's not huge it's 115 by 78 hello I mean that's not huge at all so I have I have this threads Nicole you just need to give us a lesson it's just it's just inevitable that you're gonna have to it's a lesson in doing your floss showing floss see if you show it one way you don't see the Blues okay there we go a little bit better learning and I have a piece of 36 Old Town blend it calls for winter's brew but I mean soul tumbling which is a little bit lighter by owner so that's a one stitch I've already done this I'll have to show that sometime and then this was a club kit at one point in time grace on me like Plum Street I don't know if she's since released this or not came out in 2019 usually they wait about a year but another great and that has a 36 count piece of french vanilla but that was from dying to stitch that was a club piece so that's it house couple more and then I'm gonna let you go this is over an hour I was blown away this year and I have ordered there's one two more I've ordered that I haven't got yes and I don't know shops are closed or what but Theresa kovetz samplers work and she's not even a stitch her she does a lot of punch needle of course she's fabulous artist if you haven't watched her latest video she goes through her 365 days of whimsy sketchbook it's it's just you just wanna it's jaw-dropping how talented she is so anyway having a nature sing it's kind of a Christmas one but hey it's a big ol red house and I don't I don't have linen with that but I did pull the threads very deep colors very pretty it'll be a beautiful Christmas sample the next one is by the Scarlet house and see that's the house I was talking about so that must have been a common house because tin has the original that she stitched her local drums so there must be lots of them that have that similar house this is jane cowy cowy cowy cowy 1850 this is one of Tannis newest releases to read houses I love this love it I have collected the NPI silks I'm not sure linen yet she used I think she used weeks cocoa yes 46 count weeks Coco I'm not gonna do 46 because of all the over one see there's quite a bit of over one on the verse I will definitely use 40 I won't use I won't do 36 I'm my East 46 I don't know I do she calls for cocoa and that's I'm sure the new weeks and has those white art base cocoa is very similar to this old piece of metal that I have which seems a little dark so I asked Carolyn at the attic just to send me a piece of linen because she has the they have the original not the antique but they have the reproduction that Tana has stitched at the store so this looks lighter than this so I thought if she could she would send me a piece of linen that looks closest to what the model so that's gonna go to the top of the list but and last but not least is the other scarlet house new one this is Charlotte frost and I can honestly say between these two I'm not sure what I'm gonna stitch next but I think it's gonna be one of these two other than some small pieces this is Charlotte frost 1846 by the Scarlet house and she stitched it with NPI's which is needlepoint silk and I have already I had most of these you know over the years I've collected enough needlepoint silk that I have pretty green very muted olivey green so I have I have the threads and it calls for 37 count corn tassel corn tassel is by legacy now there's also a color called legacy by pictures plus this is by legacy this is legacy linen by access commodities it comes in kind of different counts like I think there's a 45 and there's a 37 so I had a piece of 37 corn tassel as the color that I had bought from the Attic to do merry Clayton which is a hands across the sea you know what when I realized I had a piece stuck in I took it out well I had a big long piece so I actually had enough to cut it in half and use half of it for Charlotte Frost and half sorry about that for Mary Clayton so one of these two I'm gonna start soon not sure in the meantime I'll finish my little April wordplay may start on May because hello we're getting close enough to me I will try to finish finish it finish the stitching and finish it so April one can be up for at least the last couple days one more thing really really quick because I'm running totally I've done a little bit of quilting and I forgot last time to announce the winner of the quilt giveaway this is the first thing I did in the last since Corona this is a small oh gosh I didn't get the book out but this was eight okay oh my gosh I can't cannot think who the book is by it's not my brain anyway it was a kit from country sampler that I got last summer and I love small quilts I sometimes will take them fold them in fourths roll them up and stick them in a jar or stick them in a wire basket I also use them on my 35 year old cottage or end tables anyway love small quilts Oh anyway I also this I made years and years and years ago it was in my stash it hasn't been quilted yet which I have oodles of coats or haven't been caught yet this one is just a basket quilt I have no idea no idea what pattern this is it's all quilted I just need to fold the binding down and Stitch the binding hopefully that'll be be finished this is another one eons old I worked at a quilt stuff the quilt shop I worked at closed in 2010 so that's ten years ago so I don't know if you can see this it's kind of a colorful basket quilt very springy to me and when I was going through some quilt stuff I came across a second kit and I think I got that from country threads which used to be a store in Iowa it was in a chicken coop in somebody's farm um garner Iowa country threads I think some of their patterns and books are still available but anyway I think I got the kit there and I actually had two kids so I sent my sister the other kid and I said I think this is yours but anyway this was the quilt for the giveaway do you remember all the sewing stuff I loved all everybody's comments about whether they sewed whether they didn't sew and the winner is Elaine Warren um you know a lot of people do random generator stuff I ask Siri Siri pick a number between one and five hundred and serial number or anything look at me being all techie okay an hour and 15 minutes I can't even believe I won 16 minutes I can't believe I've gone this long but I'm kind of early I'm kind of late so I'm not making any promises when I come back but hopefully I'll have a lot of stitching done because that's what I'm doing I hope you all are staying safe I hope you're washing your hands pork Nicole out in her last video Nicole's needlework she showed her hands and she actually had sores on her hands cuz she's been washing her hands so much I use hand lotion so she said she doesn't like hand lotion but anyway that was a diversion um stay safe I hope you have too enough toilet paper I hope you have enough groceries I just want to say kudos to the heroes that are out there that are on the frontline of the grocery stores and I know some of them are probably thrilled that they still have a job but on the other hand their exposure to what might be life-threatening is I'm sure a challenge I did make some masks my daughter-in-laws my daughter lost a nurse although she's able to work from home because she works from for a doctor's office and so she does primarily phone calls and stuff so she's working from home my son's working from home my daughters were everybody's working from home I'm stitching from home but my daughter-in-laws a nurse and her sister's a nurse and her sister is still working at the hospital she's in pediatric so I made a half a dozen masks for her so hopefully she's able to use them they're okay they're not hard to make one of the quilt stores here has made I don't know 1,700 or something that they've donated so I know tech stylist Lori on Instagram she's been making hundreds of them so kudos to the people that are doing that I think that's wonderful um and just stay safe because you know this is it's just a weird time I don't really think I'm scared cuz I stay home a lot anyway now my husband has gone to the grocery store and he wipes everything down and you know and he's like you just stay home I'm like okay dug me into it he's silver-tongued devil I just keep laughing because that's the best medicine so anyway see ya you
