it takes some some accuracy a quality weapon to take that 250 grain slug and send it to the top of that hill [Music] you a lot of you are familiar with an ar-15 platform ar-15 gets a lot of criticism you know a lot of folks believe that it is you know it's an assault rifle or whatever not getting into politics but that it is not a hunting platform here is the perfect example of a hunting platform what this is is this is a Ruger MPR 556 that's that's essentially the lower receiver but this is in a 450 Bushmaster now that if you know anything about it that is a hunting ground I mean that's what this essentially was created for this is you know if you take a look at this between this and the five five six it's almost double the energy the bullet is this one is federal fusion this is a 260 grain recently they've started coming out with more we can get up to a 300 grain bullet this is actually the ideal hog hunting it's a perfect deer round OK for you know shorter distances is in under 300 yards but few of you are shooting out beyond that so anyway Ruger did a great job with this they used their their pre-existing MPR lower receiver with the same trigger i've done a review on that it's it's great and what what they did was to say stuck the 450 Bushmaster on here and what you have is an awesome hog hunting even bear I mean there's a lot of people out there that like use in 454 like black bear in larger game than whitetail the 450 Bushmaster is not a light recoiling gun so it's gonna essentially recoil kick like a shotgun any of you they've shot a 20 gauge or 12 gauge you know 12-gauge with 3 and 3/4 like birdshot or skeet loads that's basically what it feels like so smaller younger people may not really enjoy shooting this because it does have a little kick i the nice thing about the 450 Bushmaster is it uses standard ar-15 mags all that you need to do is get a different follower and there's several options available for that so it's kind of like some of the 9 mil by cm mg for their for their 9 millimeters we've all got ar-15 mags laying around all we got to do is get a hold of some of the followers and swap those out and boom now you got a 450 Bushmaster mag okay so I got the 450 zeroed in here at 50 yards I tossed a couple plates up down there at a hundred I'm using some Hornady 150 grain here I got it dialed in the other day at a hundred got the Barrow clean here we're gonna start back up and we're gonna see what kind of accuracy we should be able to get you know some decent accuracy with Hornady here at 100 I had a Bushmaster have a Bushmaster 450 from Bushmaster that I got a long time ago and I found that to be quite accurate so let's let's test the Ruger here and see what kind of groups we can get it the other day I was getting I was getting some pretty decent groups okay a little down that's different than the zero that I left it with but that was out of a freshly clean and oiled barrel so let's see how the second shot does [Applause] and that went high we have a bit of a jam there that group wasn't very good I'm not entirely sure about this scope I think what I want to do is I want to throw my Nikon on there with a worn mount re0 at 50 and go back out to a hundred and see if that makes any difference if it doesn't and it's the same then either this gun is not very accurate or the ammo isn't accurate because I certainly don't think it's the shooter in this case okay so I'm actually had some accuracy issues here with the I don't know if it was the scope I swapped out the scope still getting some mixed results here what I've got here is an actual Bushmaster 450 Bushmaster that I've had for a long time and had pretty good luck with that it should be zeroed using kind of the same ammo that I used to zero let's see if we get any better results with this or at least more consistent [Music] [Applause] that was actually some decent group I got to up touching and then one a little bit lower let's go back and see if we we get any difference with the other one okay so I swap scopes and I'm still getting these Flyers and I can get some in a group and then I'll have a flyer what I did was I took off the muzzle brake just because trying to figure out something here we'll try it here without the muzzle break it's way off but that just cloverleaf tit might try a few more rounds okay in a very bizarre turn of events here was having flyers having difficulty getting the groups try different scopes took the muzzle brake off cleaned it in the group shrunk it's not the first time that I've cleaned it put the muzzle brake back on in the groups widened we're just finishing up here with the muzzle brake back on and we'll take a look and you can you can see what you think for yourself just because I can't help myself I'm gonna take the brake off one more time oh I took off the muzzle brake and I fired this group that's that's a pretty good group then I put the muscle brake back on and you can see that definitely spread out okay then I put the muzzle brake back on and actually started dialing in so I had a really tight group and I started making some quick adjustments and my final was right here that is without the muzzle brake so up here without the muzzle brake with the muzzle brake and then finally our final one here and now we're going to start shooting it some distance and having some fun okay so to make a really long story short I got the 450 Bushmaster from Ruger to do a review on it's basically on the MPR lower which is one of my favorite guns I think it's probably one of the best deals out there for an AR that MPR the trigger just is wonderful in it anyway started shooting it got a zero but then I was having these constant issues with flyers now I know some of you you know the first thing you think of is maybe I'm jerking the trigger it's got some recoil I grabbed my 450 Bushmaster from Bushmaster I put that on and I had no flyer issues I got nice tight groups and I'm thinking well that's odd different scopes I was trying to vortex Sonora you know a pretty cheap scope so anyway the long story short is I ended up swapping out scopes swapping out mounts I took the Bushmaster scope and put it on the Ruger I took the Ruger upper and put it on the lower that I was using with the Bushmaster and I just kept getting the same results I was getting these Flyers finally after a lot of ammo and I'd worked with Ruger and Ruger sent me some some ammo to further explore this and I don't know I was out doing kind of the last thing about ready to just give up and say hey you know I mean here's here's the Ruger 450 Bushmaster and I looked down at the end of the barrel and I thought you know I don't know what the heck I'm gonna take the brake off I took the brake off and the group shrunk I put the brake backhoe on and the group's expanded I put the brake took the brake back off and the group shrunk again and so then either now or you will see the final result was is removing this brake and I had nice tight groups that were consistent with my Bushmaster 450 Bushmaster and the final end result is is a fine shooting weapon that gets great groups and it's very affordable that's what I like about the Ruger 450 bushmasters I can get the complete gun for just a little bit more than what I paid for my Bushmaster upper and when I do a research or do a search on the internet it's still the same I'm still finding my Bushmaster upper almost the same cost is what I can find on sale good sale the entire Ruger and Ruger's a reputable company so I guess that the end result would be at least the muzzle brake that I had from what I could conclude was causing issues how or why I have no idea I do know that Ruger said that this decreased recoil I felt no noticeable difference in recoil with or without this brake I did a review on muzzle brakes from Hancock armory that reduce recoil by 50% I contacted them and say hey you need to make me a break for the 450 Bushmaster and that would be my suggestion to Ruger is to go with a different muzzle brake to drop that recoil I think based on Hancock sucks with my 308 and some of the other stuff I think we'd really tame the recoil on that Bushmaster and you could do some fast follow-up shots okay so I got my sig kilo rangefinder here I've got the Ruger 450 Bushmaster thing I love with this sig is we plug in the ballistics to the phone on the 450 Bushmaster the Hornady black and then I doped the scope arrange it here okay 300 yards 10.23 MOA dope the scope and let's fire nice okay we arranged it at four hundred nine yards we need to dope the scope twenty point one four MOA one remind you to check out our web pages in the description it's the home of the Krazy Stoopid deals when I find awesome deals also in the description and on the home page there's some online courses because that's what I do I actually teach for living for a university and i've got some online courses on finances on study skills and continuing ed anyway click on those help drive them up in the search engine help support us use our links check out our web page check us out on facebook anyway back to shooting nice 400 yards over there on top of the hill listen to that delay that is too much fun that's nice that's nice sig kilo rangefinder Ruger 450 Bushmaster 400 it takes some some accuracy a quality weapon to take that 250 grain slug and send it to the top of that hill [Music] that's I can actually get back on target with the speed of this bullet and I can see the steel moving before I hear it hit I should call it out so after all this why do I still like the Ruger 450 Bushmaster because once I figured out that the muzzle brake was causing me some issues at least my particular muscle brake to take a 450 Bushmaster and sit there and make the steel ring if 400 yards requires a you know an okay shoot er okay but it also requires a quality firearm with some good accuracy that's why I'm still recommending the Ruger 450 Bushmaster okay so all done with a review it was interesting you know it really pushed my critical thinking and my problem-solving and my expenditure of a memo but Ruger was Ruger was awesome to work with I really appreciate their help thank you you know that's the thing is is you're gonna get a gun from time to time that has some issues and you know with this one it was the muzzle brake I do recommend the Ruger 450 Bushmaster I do like it it's got a nice trigger it's got an awesome lower and the great thing is is you have an AR lower than so you could put other uppers on it hopefully you found this helpful be sure to LIKE comment and sub remember gun control starts at home educating our kids [Music]
