[Music] [Music] the smarm solutions today we're looking at some of the leis coming out of American tactical now many of you when you think of American tactical you think about the Omni hybrid which is just the polymer upper and lower receivers these are basically a five five six to 300 blackout rifles so I think we're talking about our rifles chambered in the 450 Bushmaster caliber now for those of you who aren't fully familiar with some of the larger calibers the 450 Bushmaster is probably one of the most popular of the large caliber cartridges that are out there for the ar-15 m16 series before we talk too much about the the rifles themselves in the pestle I'm talking about the ammunition because there's a little bit of a history that goes back to what these originals were designed for one of the earliest of these large caliber cartridge came out of algae and or arms alligator arms came out at that 50 caliber Beowulf now this wasn't designed primarily as a hunting cartridge for deer for anything such as feral hog or whatnot and basically gave me the recoil of a 20 gauge shotgun but it also was designed so it wouldn't fit in your average air 15 type rifle utilizing a modified bolt larger barrel and a modified magazine they was again developed for commercial purposes the next one that came along was the bump is the 0.499 whitener weiss rifle company cartridge now the $4.99 was developed for military use there was a requirement that he come out for the Coast Guard of a handheld rifle that would basically stick a small ship so by punching these large or 45 50 caliber holes in him and the holes would help them sink now the $4.99 LWRC has a lot of history going to the 50 caliber Beowulf at the time Paul whitener Weiss went over to Bill Alexander to get some information on his 50 caliber cartridge and depending on who you listen to there were some information that was taken from the original 50 caliber Beowulf and turned over into the point e9 LWRC now not everything was turned over because the porting name was played with problems the initial rifles that were built for the Coast Guard by Paul Lanier Weiss were playing with malfunctions and I know that because I was there I had been to a couple of the administration's that were done for the Coast Guard and where the they had rifles and they also had full auto lower receivers ever or the time they were FN m16a2 burst ones and he never could get a three-shot bursts out of this caliber because he would have failures to extract failures to eject all kind all kinds of failures the time he was working with Carl Lewis and Carl Lewis had told him things he needed to change but Paul hood insisted I'm not changing it so the rifle cartridge combination that he had never ever worked and some other issues that came up was this was designed for shipboard use where he had these bullets that were manufactured out of a polymer ten blend primer copper blends that would corrode from the inside out which wasn't really the smartest thing there really came out as for sure so the 49 was really a failure he made relatively few guns relatively little sales were made out of and the a mission has been a wild cat next one that came out was a 450 so come up or if you socom pretty much did everything that the Beowulf and the lightener Weiss would do except it was in a bottle necked cartridge it was a you know point four or five caliber now why would you want to do that versus what was done on the other two well being it being having it being a bottleneck it was more reliable for as far as the way it would feed function because it was able to headspace on the shoulder rather than you know it got like a straight walk cartridge and then we have what we see here which is the 50 Bushmaster now a little bit with a perfect Bushmaster we're gonna go back in time a little bit it was based off of a cartridge called the 45 professional and the 45 professional ended up becoming which referred to was the 44 50 thumper well the 40 thumper Bushmaster liked the concept of course she didn't be able to apply it to one of their rifles by just changing out the barrel bolts and magazine they got together with Hornady the joint process between Hornaday and Bushmaster Hornady took the port 50 professional and they modified it to host their two and 50 grain Asst flex tip bullet so the design the 450 Bushmaster was accepted by Sammy once accepted by Sammy now there was a standardization in chambers and ammunition and whatnot so any manufacturer go ahead and make the impor 50 Bushmaster however primarily was manufactured by a Bushmaster and then as time went on you'd see other calibers or other manufacturers manufacturing this caliber as well looking at the calibers up here at the corner LWRC is gone there exists no longer it's still in production is a 50 Beowulf the 450 SOCOM as well as the Bushmaster now one of the benefits of the 450 Bushmaster is the fact that it's manufactured by as we see over here manufactured by Hornady and Renton so you have two major manufacturers who are manufactured over 50 Bushmaster yeah a few different loads now there's some of the smaller manufacturers are manufacturing it as well but most importantly we have some of the larger ones 50 caliber Beowulf to my knowledge was primarily manufactured by El gender arms they manufacture this ammunition in the house and the 450 subcomittee munition is manufacture right more of a boutique type information manufacture just far more expensive and it's a lot more scarce so for starters having a 50 caliber 45 caliber projectile on this rifle that's easy to use ammunition is acceptable for 50 Bushmaster is definitely the way to go when you look at its velocities with a 250 gram projectile you know we have two different weapons here that we tested first was the 16 inch carbine and you're looking at 180 turn 50 or aft exit 2080 foot a second now menu shortness down to a ten and a half inch barrel we saw in this pistol version here looking at a drop down at two thousand to four per second so you know you do have a lot of energy just being dumped out of this thing at once when this projectile hits you know the accuracy from what we found was you know it's relatively short you know 100 yards not much beyond honored yards forest fires getting its best performance but this gun and this caliber is ideal for hunting feral hogs or or deer or anything that's even gained in North America so when you look at the ammunition we have here for 50 Bushmaster the magazines that are being used for it well by American tactical are their Zealander magazine that holds 10 rounds there's also a polymer magazine which you see right here which holds five rounds there are several companies that do manufacture magazines for a perfect Bushmaster because again you have the guns manufactured by a Bushmaster in fact myself I have one of the MGI hydrous or I also have the wind and weaponry mcs and I basically took a standard 450 Bushmaster barrel and utilize it in that rifle works just just as well and as well as some other calibers that are coming out with it now in fact in 2019 most machining tool came out with a 450 Bushmaster for their MRP system so I think you're starting to give more traction with the 450 Bushmaster versus the other two they're currently in production right now so now we're going to go over to the American tactical rifles now due to the fact this is supported the Bushmaster doing a lot more wear and tear on the system than you do with five five six or three and black got these are based on their mil sport aluminum receivers so the first one we're gonna look at is the carbine the carbine here is a 16 inch barrel it's a steel barrel a 1 and 24 inch twist nitride coated has an X a muzzle brake on it excellent muzzle brake is definitely useful on this gun now you do get an incredible muzzle blast with it but being the energy or having coming out of this I thought the muzzle brake is definitely a good addition on any of the rifles that are this caliber now my other barrel I have for my my wind and weaponry mcs as a regular flash suppressor Rider and I will definitely say it's more pleasant to shoot for as far as the noise is concerned however first far as recoil this makes a big bit of difference so again a sixty-day sprayed on other rail we have on here is a 15 inch rail it's keymod we do have a continuous mil standard 1913 rail on top we do have keep mod on the sides so we have seven different locations here differen different angles where we can place optics out here with the keymod rails looking the the rear here this interesting stock this is a trinity force bravo stock what basically it does is you are able to put a fixed type stock out of carbine receiver extension so it gives you basically a fixed stock on here that slid onto the carbine you have two QD points in the back here as well the upper and lower receivers 77586 aircraft grade aluminum standard mil spec type type mils tender 1913 rail do you have a forward assist on here as well as a fire cartridge case deflector now you're gonna notice there's some shiny material around the ejection port that was done to widen ejection port so it'll be more reliable with the larger 50 caliber cartridge case or 45 caliber cartridge case of the 450 Bushmaster so it gives a little bit more room in there some things that I have a player to eject so that's one of the modifications it's done to it doesn't affect the use of the ejection port that's covered at all we have a standard milspec trigger in here which is about seven seven and a half pounds on this one standard safety standard bolt catch basically your your normal import type lower receiver you have a receiver extension end plate which allows you to clap a clip on type sling the other side stay near Bulgarian here a senior firing pen standard a campaign the only changes to the bolt itself you have to have a change in the bolt for the rebated rim of the 450 Bushmaster so we have a special bolt for that and this particular one has a carbine length gas system there's a low profile gas black on here which is also drilled and pin now America tactical they first come out with their rifle series you don't you just Eli's the standard gas blocks we would utilize two set screws hold it in place well they have found that during testing that these things would migrate forward to one he would migrate formed they were to start cutting the gas off causing short stroking and eventually they could cook off the entire gas period so what they do now is every one of their gas blocks is now drilled and pinned in place to ensure that you have the reliability and durability that you are not gonna have any kind of more gas loss it's gonna cause the rifle to malfunction so the next one we're gonna talk about is the 450 Bushmaster pistol when I first heard about this my first question was why because this is a truly brutal cartridge well you know there are certainly people out there who like that they want to have the smallest the biggest and the baddest well here you have it actually you're gonna see from the shooting footage on here that this was a very unpleasant rifle to shoot the carbine very pleasant to shoot there was no problems with it whatsoever you know I could go shooting this one all day long however this pistol about four or five shots is about all you're gonna want to shoot it's just got a heavy recoil a heavy muzzle blast but for somebody who wants that they wanted it for a backpack gun going in the woods or whatever you you want as a personal defense personal defense this probably wouldn't be your best idea this caliber would go right through any of your wall boards in your house it's fun most practicality the 450 Bushmaster pistol is more of a novelty in my opinion it's because of the fact that it is so difficult to control and it's so unpleasant to shoot the 450 Bushmaster carbine does a very good job on deer on any kind of medium type game that you'd have in this country wild boar look at some of the military applications of the 450 cartridge the port if you socom was designed out of the issues that came out of Somalia the five five six ma fire five was going right through Somali militia and they were looking to have a larger cartridge it would have basically or one shot hit knocked down that's it the for heavy SOCOM certainly does that but for the military applications I think also durability the rifle would be a let me just do the fact that you have so much recoil on the right pole on the system I don't think this would hold up as a long term use of this cartridge there really hasn't been any testing that I have seen where you've had any rifle it's gone through five or ten thousand rounds on 450 Bushmaster first up it's not practical because nobody's using it that way and second of all the cost would be outrageous to do it but I believe you're gonna have the durability at about 450 bush Bushmaster rifle or 50 SOCOM barrel that you would out of a standard five five six so I think we're going to do now is go to the range we're gonna see how these two shoot as you saw from my reaction with the pistol that it was not a pleasant experience a lot of recoil a lot of muzzle blast as you can see from the target I definitely pulled a couple of amount of them just because of the fact that anticipation of that recoil and putting this stock up as you settled up to my shoulder putting up to my face I tried that once and it just flew back into my shoulder and hurt me and hit my shoulder so I had to put this against my shoulder just so I could have some kind of control over it but did you did see it when utilizing the carbine it was it was rather pleasant again has that recall about of a 20 gauge shotgun yeah I pick I chose on here was the vortex razor AMG this is our extremely nice optic one MOA dot and you also have one part magnification roll length is 3.5 inches with a weight of 11 point 8 ounces this is relatively new coming out from war Tex I have to say I did like the fact that we had a wide screen on here this little bulkier than some of the ones that are out there but I have to say it was extremely high quality optic the maximum elevation I'm here and when it adjusted 100m away now the cost both of these the pistol and the carbine had the same cost of an MSRP of $6.99 95 so if you're looking for a potential hunting type rifle for and deer feral hog and such the ATI 450 Bushmaster caliber carbine is an excellent choice for pistol if you want a novelty something to talk about there you have it in practicality we're gonna use that for hunting it's just again it's too small it's too much to tell on to I hope you did enjoy this video if you do please click like please subscribe it even better share you
