hello guys Chris here and welcome back to another video in this one my friends we're gonna be testing yet another very chunky boy this is the RTX 40. 80. and yes guys it's exactly the same size as the RTX 4090 which is kind of weird because this consumes 130 Watts less it's a 320 watt GPU instead of the 450 of the 4090 yet the cooler apparently is the same so I expect really good temperatures coming out of this thing but it makes me wonder why did they go with the same cooler doesn't it make it more expensive and oh boy is this thing expensive twelve hundred dollars MSRP guys that is a lot of money you will still need to sell that kidney for a GPU like this but what does the 4080 bring to the table at twelve hundred dollars MSRP it's gonna be above that probably it has over 9000 Cuda cores specifically 9728 16 gigabytes of gddr6x vram a 256 bit memory Buzz 76 rate racing cars 30410 Circle scores and all of that good dlss3 stuff that we got with the RTX 1490 as well also the encoder on it is av1 it's the same as the 4090 so it's really great for streaming and content creation and it still doesn't have DisplayPort 2.1 so as you saw compared to the 4090 this thing is heavily cut down like 9700 something cores compared to 16 000 plus yeah that's a huge difference isn't it but hey that doesn't mean that this is a bad GPU let's actually find out how it plays some games shall we but first we gotta install it in the system of course and while we're at it let's go over the PC specs it has a 1200 watt PSU which is definitely not needed for this card it asks for a 750 watt unit ryzen 7 5800 X 3D which won't bottleneck it alright and 32 gigabytes of ddr4 clocked at 3533 megahertz first up is Call Of Duty Modern War Fair too we're playing it at 4K resolution native with no dlss at the moment and using the highest settings possible aside from these over here oh look at this guys it is looking fantastic isn't it look at those FPS it's a high refresh rate experience at Native 4K resolution now this is not really the most intensive map but that wasn't a guy that was a chopper there all right there we go a couple of kills but we got a really intensive place in this map that I am trying to get to oh look at this we actually just spawned in a super intensive area this is just as intensive as the other Warehouse that I was trying to get to and as you can see it does drop into the lower 100s at times and that means that with like huge explosions and stuff like that it would probably drop into the 90s as well is that a big deal I don't think so like this is buttery smooth anyways it's a super nice experience uh this guy right there let's just see the FPS inside of the smoke pretty much the same as the other area actually there's a guy right here there we go oh what oh no that one is dead they just moved there okay oh look at those smoke effects they look beautiful actually trying to get to the other area now all right another one down oh correct where did they shoot me from was it that Chopper probably oh come on he saw me again oh no they have a chopper Gunner okay there we go nice another one down what were you doing in our base now if you want more FPS guys you can definitely have them of course we are at extreme settings where oh okay didn't see the guy and you could play like on Ultra and get a massive boost in fps extreme is that much more intensive than Ultra in this game but aside from lowering the settings you still have the option to enable some dlss as well let's just throw that out get out of here where is he though I I don't see anybody else wait this is very very uh terrifying actually I don't want to die no okay we got it we got it all right I'm just gonna Camp here oh I don't have many more bullets and stop it 129 FPS average 95 one percent lows let's enable Nvidia dlss on quality with 69 percent sharpness there because that's the perfect number obviously and now you can see that it's getting pretty much the same FPS as the 4090 at Native resolution I think oh we got some smoke effects right away this is perfect come on can you get there be faster please let's go yeah dropping into the 150s this is really good oh very nice we got a light tank right Away Great Stuff not the boss come over here boy Jesus the screen Shake is real oh come on are you serious I can't really break those things that's stupid oh oh oh all right thank you for revealing your position buddy let's go nice got him uh I'm just gonna run this one over a couple of what's right here and I mean you can barely tell the difference between dlss quality and um the native resolution oh we better not get out of this actually because otherwise they will pick it up uh the game is almost ending as well and I went to see the FPS inside of here though okay this is the other very intensive area in this map by the way and it is not dropping it would actually drop to like 105 or 98 or something like that previously there's the guy right there we're gonna try to get him and now it's dropping into like the 140s so extremely good results it's a high refresh rate experience it's enough to max out at 144 Hertz 4k monitor um yeah I just wish the GPU was a little bit cheaper you know anyways let's go come on oh my god oh I'm terrible no no no next step is cyber folk 2077 at 4K using the rate racing Ultra preset and quality dlss frame generation is turned off at the moment as you can see and I will disable motion blur right here everything else is set to the preset it is super super intensive getting 40s in 50s like that is absolutely crazy guys granted this is actually the most intensive street that I've come across in this game it's usually where I Benchmark stuff because it's really really intensive but yeah it's a 48 to 1200 GPU it can't get 60 plus all of the time with dlss the game is just too intensive with all of that rate racing enabled it looks absolutely gorgeous as well by the way I wouldn't disable the LSS it gets drops from 30 FPS okay 20s sometimes so that's a very bad idea but yeah it's it's playable but definitely not the FPS that you want in a GPU this expensive obviously and that's where dlss frame generation comes in if you enable that apply and leave everything else as is with Ray tracing enabled and everything you can see that those FPS jump up considerably and it's now a buttery smooth experience guys yeah turning the mouse around I can't really feel that input lag that everybody talks about you know because this implementation of software actually introduces a more input like inside of the game I would much rather enable it and have a smoother experience than play with 50 FPS that's for sure now let's kill Bob finally it's time for it oh boy I just I just can't drive in this game by the way also the reflections on the car and stuff like that might look a little bit worse here with FG enabled and it might be a little bit softer overall but to be honest the FPS increase is worth it goodbye Bob oh my God what is happening why are people doing this to my car like it's starting to float and stuff interesting anyways this is a super intensive roundabout area right here as well and it's not dropping too much it's into the 70s not bad whatsoever guys now to contrast cyberbug we got Forza Horizon 5 and extremely well optimized title at 4K resolution using TAA no upscalers because well these actually don't work that well in this game and over in the graphic settings I set everything to the maximum manually including rate racing which when set to extreme actually works inside of the game alright I chose this car because it has a ton of Reflections for that RT you know let's start counting our FPS look at those FPS actually this is really good with rate racing at Native resolution wow what a contrast isn't it compared to cyberbug holy crap dude now this area is not really that intensive sometimes the bushes are a little bit intensive but where your FPS are gonna drop the most is actually inside of big cities so that's exactly where we're gonna go right now also I gotta mention that beautiful license plate right there gt710 for the win because everybody knows that the gt710 is the best GPU out there right no questions about it City area it is not dropping by too much actually what I thought it would drop like immensely over here it usually does got a lot of cars right now and screen it it didn't even move there are you serious this is really good actually damn okay all right of course it is very good it's a 1200 GPU I gotta keep reminding myself of that but I really think they will drop the prices as soon as the AMD stuff comes out so getting out of the tunnel is the most intensive thing that you can do in this game and it drops into the 80s not a problem Oh this is really good actually 150 is looking at the entire map damn okay let's go for the settings 4K resolution using the max settings and let's drop down here oh well a ton of squads have already dropped there at least a bad idea okay I'm gonna start counting the frames and we're just gonna go in this direction oh I see I see a shield a really good one already wait a second I I gotta grab that come on come on Bangalore okay okay we got this we got this let's just grab a weapon now please thank you thank you and uh hopefully I'm not gonna die instantly gonna take a look at the city from above again not a problem 140s Yep this is really nice there's one guy right there let's go come on usually there are a lot of people in this building right here where I'm standing but not today there are a couple of them there as well oh that was close nice hit him let's go stand still buddy standstill come on yeah that's not gonna happen also do you like my skin it's beautiful isn't it oh my God okay what over here we got 160s I'm gonna throw my ultimate out to see like worst case scenario with a ton of explosions and stuff throw a smoke as well at the same time 100 FPS there it drops a lot look at that 82 damn that's crazy actually and I also tested the 4090 in this same map and it got 247 FPS on average and it was actually going up to 300 at times which is the cap in this game this is nowhere near that so yeah a little bit slower once again quite a bit than the 1490. hmm for a 400 difference at those high-end prices maybe the 49s is the way to go look at one of them there oh oh he's close whoa oh my God I suck no no we got a little bit of an ultimate going on here as well now the super intensive title now Red Dead Redemption 2 we're playing at 4K using the maximum settings no dlss oh this is super intensive look at that 60 there all right hello roach how's it going buddy also I want to see the water physics in this game that's what wrecked the FPS damage oh no come on roach roach roach come on buddy I I'm sorry I called you mooch it wasn't on purpose let's go let's go to Saint Denis now and kill Bob shall we come over here buddy it's fine it's okay it's okay it's okay I know you don't like drops from 60 FPS and we've already seen a couple here but it's okay buddy it's just maximum settings it doesn't mean that the GPU is bad it just means that it's not the 40 90 because that's the only GPU that can get 60 plus all of the time in this game all right let's let's go uh should we I don't know I don't know they're fighting each other now they're both fighting me what okay hi I'm so confused oh look at that now that we are far from water it is getting 70s even with all of this vegetation around us which is pretty intensive guys it's insane how what direct FPS in this game just by being near it now that we're approaching it it's already dropping into the 60s again see that anyway I think like a couple of drops from 60 FPS in intensive scenarios isn't really a big deal especially in a slow paced title like Red Dead Redemption 2 story driven you know just you gotta enjoy those Graphics I would still play at ultra settings I think enabling the LSS will definitely put you over 60 all of the time though so that's an option now we're in Saint Denis very big city getting 70s now it stopped raining as well kind of now it's raining a little bit still oh I see Bob already I see Bob already with his trumpets trying to play some copyrighted music are you oh my God I suck so much at this get over here Bob don't run away from me I got you all right there we go we got that bastard almost almost okay there we go he's still not dead I killed this guy first then I killed Bob come on now he's dead he was pretending there OverWatch too we're playing this one at 4K using epic settings okay so apparently we are getting wrecked we can't really leave the base guys I'm gonna start cutting our FPS inside of the base we get a good 200 frames this is perfect of course for a competitive experience of course competitive players would probably not play on Epic settings though but yeah you can actually make the game look awesome with all of these effects and play awesome at the same time with the 4080 you do not really need a 490 if you want 144 plus all of the time basically and or to max out of 144 Hertz monitor do they have another Mercy now but they have another healer yep there's more right there what she just disappeared yeah this total Mayhem mode guys is extremely hard to play should we go to the point you know what let's just get out of here I'm I'm gonna go to the point I don't care I got a ton of of Health anyways come on people get out of the way I'm just gonna use my old oh my gosh okay they're all over here come on what the hell is happening to me now I just I don't understand but this is really nice of course now we're playing Spider-Man remastered at 4K resolution using TAA no dlss at the moment very high settings and rate racing enabled and will you look at that even with rate racing enabled this is a 60 plus FPS experience at Native resolution guys look at that even down here which is more intensive using Ray tracing as you can see it's dropping into the 60s we got the car Reflections oh boy uh yeah it looks fantastic okay it does drop from 60 sometimes all right it's really really intensive down here apparently I wasn't expecting it to drop that much okay but that's not really game breaking honestly you can still play absolutely fine at Native resolution if you want to of course enabling dlss with frame generation because this supports frame generation as well will increase your FPS by a ton we're gonna take a look at that in just a little bit it's like magic basically this road here is pretty intensive as you can see dropping close to 60 once again so it's not 60 plus all of the time um but it's pretty close and finally we got to the Central Park area where the YouTube compression will come in place really hard this is probably gonna look terrible uh but yeah it's not as intensive as the city with rate racing if you disable rate racing this becomes the most intensive part of the map but not with that enabled I'm so sorry pretty good stuff here here but of course where this shines the most is with that the LSS frame generation and let's set the LSS to Quality as well apply the changes and I think look at that that is just crazy we jumped from 80 fps to 100 plus this flicker is a little bit at times by the way especially if I stand right here yeah can you see that flickering a little I can definitely tell that okay well let's go towards the city now come on Spider-Man do something thank you very much so as you can see we're getting basically like double the performance in this game by enabling the LSS and frame generation and around here it's not flickering anymore it actually looks fantastic guys I would definitely play this game like this Ray tracing also looks pretty good in this one especially at 4K resolution so yeah enable that play at the maximum settings and enjoy this beautiful game with the 4080. now it's the Channel's favorite GTA 5 at 4K resolution two times MSA and the ultra settings pretty much everything is maxed out aside from the motion blur and depth of field and over on the advanced graphic settings I disabled these over here because they're more CPU intensive all right let's take our Nvidia car right here that's the AMD one or these two are I guess because the the color you know anyway let's go oh boy okay 100 FPS that's pretty good considering like it's an old title it's not really that optimized to run on these newer gpus um but it's 4K two times MSA it looks super crispy very very detailed still and the game overall it's still amazing in terms of looks you know I would still disable like the post FX stuff because that introduces motion blur even though the slider is all the way down to the minimum but yeah it looks awesome nonetheless and of course it of course it plays extremely well because the thing runs even on a gt710 above 30 FPS at 720 below but yeah it's it's very well optimized it runs fantastic and it looks great even in 2022. really curious to see what the Rockstar will come up with in GTA 6. hello Jack how's it going buddy you're here with the 4080 and you weren't here with the 4090 why is that buddy I don't understand oh bushy areas it actually drops into the 60s look at that this game can still be super intensive and there's Bob right there goodbye Bob and you are free to go Rex you are free go live your life buddy now it's ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla at 4K I don't know why it says 24 Hertz it's not at 24 Hertz okay and we're using the ultra high quality settings I just disabled depth of field and motion blur and look how beautiful oh my gosh that's actually super gorgeous right there with the sun holy crap okay let's start counting our FPS and follow the river a little bit this is looking fantastic around 100 FPS for reference the 1490 got 125 FPS average using these same settings but I ran the Benchmark run in the game not just playing the game like we're doing right here so we can't really directly compare it maybe I will actually run the Benchmark a little bit later in this video as well take a closer look at the plants right here those got raised by the way are absolutely gorgeous in this game holy I did not remember it looking this beautiful honestly oh hello we found Jack guys we can pet Jack look at this look at this beautiful boy oh that's so cute actually I am so glad that I didn't rate this little town right here because I was going to uh but yeah guys I just wanted to walk around see how it feels you know oh he's following us oh my gosh that's beautiful okay I gotta save this game right here okay and we're now running the built-in Benchmark of this game it's pretty similar to what we've seen in the actual gameplay section it drops into the 80s at times as you can see goes up to like the 100s yeah I feel like this built-in Benchmark is a really good representation of the game so I tend to usually use it I just wanted to see how it felt previously and it felt pretty Snappy pretty responsive as well so that's great to see ready for a mind-blowing experience guys 4K using dlss on quality and frame generation in Microsoft flight simulator and the ultra settings of course and look at this it is it is just so smooth by the way I can see some weirdness around the cursor here for example that's because of frame generation right there but the thing is when you're actually playing this it's not really that that noticeable like the the visual imperfections coming from frame generation and it makes the game buttery smooth compared to with it disabled I will also test it out with more settings in a separate video by the way but I can tell you that with it disabled we'd get around like half the performance now flying close to the buildings which look kind of terrible yep they do look like this by the way um yeah we're getting oh drops below 100 frames per second but we're not really GPU bound anymore you can see that GPU usage is fluctuating there which indicates a CPU bottleneck oh yeah in the cockpit view which a lot of people like to see it gets pretty much the same FPS alright can you see some weirdness around like text and stuff cause by frame generation I I don't really see anything wrong with it honestly so let's continue here and we are finally in the Central Park area GP utilization definitely went up by a bit hit 99 at times and we're still getting around 90 to 100 frames per second so this is definitely the way to go and to play this game now it's dying light too we're playing at 4K dlss is set to Quality with sharpness all the way up to 100 because it actually looks better like this than native resolution this game is quite soft at Native res we're using Ray tracing everything maxed out here as you can see I'm also using another on-screen display because MSI afterburner doesn't really work in this game for some reason but yeah just started counting our one percent lows and FPS averages and stuff unfortunately those like maximum results for example as well as the minimum results are pretty low like I don't think those are very accurate here in the sunscreen display but at least we can see the FPS average and the actual frames that we're getting and GP utilizations and stuff like that all right going up here by the way I have my light turned on my flashlight because it actually is a little bit more intensive its rate raised as well like the shadows and stuff so okay good morning oh hello guys you were just seeing me taking care of the bad ones and you didn't really intervene okay then what if I died huh who was gonna protect you guys then are you turning into a zombie maybe we gotta get through the view get out get out get oh boy okay no no they're all attacking me now of course they are trying to go up a little bit Yeah dropping into the 60s at times by the way but not really that big of an issue honestly it's still a pretty good 4K experience unfortunately if you played without the LSS it would definitely drop from 60 FPS yep not bad that's it for Dying Light too we've seen the city from above on top of those buildings we're seeing it down here it doesn't really seem to change that much in fps depending on the scenarios next is F12 at 4K using maximum settings dlss on quality and frame generation enabled as well you can see that rate racing is also enabled here this is a high refresh rate experience look at that close to 144 FPS sometimes which is awesome to see you can see some of that weird frame Generation stuff happening in for example the name tags over the cars um but it's not really game breaking in my opinion I would enable it I will still try it out without it but for a little bit but I think getting way higher FPS is more important to me than just some weird name tags honestly so I would play like this all right here we go frame generation off still using rate racing and everything else now the image might be just slightly sharper I don't know it was pretty sharp still using FG but you definitely don't have those weird effects around text and stuff like that so if that was distracting to you this is still an amazing experience look at those frames you know it's still 130s 120s at times in the cockpit view it actually drop a little bit to like 100 ish FPS but it is still a really impressive experience here considering that even rate racing is enabled you know and quality dlss I I think that should be a default honestly because it looks so damn good at 4K yeah back to the cockpit view again dropping to the lower 100s it's not as high refresh rate of an experience anymore but I think in a game like this you don't really need super high FPS unless you are super competitive on it of course oh this is awesome this is God of War in this game the LSS actually doesn't look very good so I disabled it and we're playing at Native 4K resolution using the ultra settings preset and in a game like this you only need about like 60 plus FPS all of the time I think that's like really really damn good for the God of War there were even people on Console playing this game all the way through with 30 frames per second so these are insanely good FPS of course I didn't really test this one on the 1490 so I don't know how it would perform there I expect like maybe High refresh rate experience 144 FPS or something like that but this is still no slouch of course really really gorgeous experience and The Buttery smooth one it's interesting though that this thing is more efficient than like a 3080 even with the same TDP spec you know 320 Watts look at those frames dropping come on drop more please it usually drops more you know this is interesting I sometimes see like a 30 FPS difference here but not with the 4080. this is pretty damn good guys I guess it just handles these effects a little bit better than older gpus man the visuals are just insane in this game it's so beautiful to look at most games that we tested today are so beautiful to look at honestly there we go a little bit of fighting happening now and screen but it's not really dropping too much it's getting the same FPS that we've already seen so far 100 on average 79 one percent lows it's really stable really smooth now it's stutter night we're playing it at 4K using dlss quality and the Epic settings and DirectX 12 as well so let's go to the tornado right away Jesus Christ look at all of that stuttering ah it's so terrible this game I I don't really like to to Benchmark it but hey a lot of people like this so so here we go 4080 in 40 90. well 14 40 18 Fortnight yes oh what is why why why am I turning into a blob of like Mercury or something what the hell is so weird okay she's gonna drink this now you know what I gotta say that the graphics do look quite good especially with all of this shiny stuff it's very beautiful however some aspects of the gameplay are just weird like this thing why why am I a blob of I I just I don't know I don't know so on a first glance it seems like this is actually performing around the same as the 1490 but uh that's all because that GPU was actually CPU Bound in this game this game is not really that well optimized uh it stutters of course also about the graphics dlss in this game okay okay what the hell come on come on buddy get out of the car and why can't I shoot oh I can shoot him right no no what okay you need to reload there there's another one here come on get rid of this one can I can I actually oh boy this is great no no no stop it oh my gosh uh we need to go we need to go there is a what two thing it does and this guy just don't doesn't leave him oh my God leave me alone bro no please do not kill me you bastard no he's not killing us oh my gosh now it's Call of Duty war zone and Warzone 2 actually comes out tomorrow so I'm not really sure how long this is gonna be relevant for but 4K resolution using the maximum settings over here and the aliasing is set to the SMA 82x the LSS is disabled we just spawned I'm gonna start counting rfps and it's gonna be a very smooth experience in this one guys I can tell you because I already played an entire game of Warzone here on the 4080 when I received it just to test it out you know and the average is were just amazing it's a high refresh rate experience at 4K resolution for sure let's see the map from above actually for a little bit yeah look at that not a problem 140s now this is one of the most intensive areas by the way the mines and it's only dropping into the 120s it's really smooth rage serum oh yeah I want that oh boy I am rage I'm feeling that rage I got good news guys we finally arrived at the capital area in the game and we're getting around the same FPS as the averages so far so that is very good to see let's see if we can do something here that has a ton of bullets that's nice all right now I gotta mention that I saw a few stuttering issues when I was driving but that's probably just the game optimization issue not really the GPU definitely not really the GPU finally the last game that I'm testing is Broken Field 2042 and I said Broken Field the game is actually in a much better State and we're playing at 4K resolution using ultra settings with high terrain quality because when I set it to ultra it actually crashes that's that's why I say it's broken filled okay quality of the LSS and rate racing are also enabled let's start counting our FPS this seems to be pretty similar to the 1490 with Native resolution once again like that's a common Trend right here a lot of the games will perform the same on the 4080 if you enable quality dlss compared to the 1490 with Native resolution and this is basically going to be a really good experience guys I've actually been playing this game with my friends on my laptop and surprisingly I still managed to do some decent things and finish like first place and stuff like that even on a laptop with drops below 60 FPS sometimes so I can tell you that this is just awesome of an experience here playing this game at 4K Ultra settings yes the LSS is enabled but I can't really tell the difference between it enabled and disabled it just feels really great yeah totally forgot to attach my my things my attachments here okay another one down let's see there's still another one there yeah he's dead good stuff really like this map by the way the new ones stranded it's very colorful it looks fantastic with all of these effects look at that the tornado as well wishing with my squad right here let's go oh inside I remember it being pretty intensive as well and it didn't drop too much there by the way yeah this is a really intensive title title and remember we're using Ray tracing as well so let's just disable the LSS I'm curious to see how much it will drop to at the native resolution yeah it's not really that different we're not in the 100s or close to it anymore it's dropping into the 70s at times but it's not unplayable if you don't like the LSS for some reason which in this game again looks fantastic you can still play at Native resolution completely maxed out with rt and get a smooth 60 plus FPS all of the time that is awesome yeah I'm kind of used to playing at these FPS at this point because as I told you I am playing it usually on my laptop with my friends so it doesn't really feel that weird to me come on come on oh boy maybe I should use the reload come on oh my God that was terrible how am I still alive did it drop by the way one percent lows are in the 40s already oh come on come on nice couple of kills there nope not from behind oh that's just a turret there uh reload a couple of guys right there and let's get these okay good job yeah this is nice guys oh come on that turret actually got this are you serious all right so as you saw the 4080 is still an amazing GPU for 4K gaming it can play all of the games easily above 60 FPS all of the time sometimes with the help of the LSS but wait the AMD stuff is just around the corner and if rumors are true they can actually compete with this GPU while costing much lower so hopefully AMD brings new competition into the high-end market and we see the prices drop on this gpus because it's it's getting ridiculously expensive you know anyways that's been it for this video thank you very much for watching it I hope it was entertaining to watch and informative as well and thank you to the beautiful channel members you guys are amazing thanks so much for the support see you soon in the next one love you all bye-bye
