saying the same people that made that made this so the director of this movie is SS rajam mully who made bahubali have you seen bahubully have you I've seen a lot of Bollywood films I even saw one that they showed at the IMAX most recently I can't remember what it was I can look it up I'll look up the tiet it might be yeah we have it's weird sometimes we have like Bollywood movies come in IMAX and because this one R they were planning on putting in IMX I don't know if ever end up happening that's when you know this [ __ ] is well we to watch this IMX we got to go watch it I know there's something big but yeah so the same director filmed this um and I know Alia bu is in it I love her she's my favorite actress in Bollywood um and I didn't know she did tolywood movies my understanding this is tolywood movie um can you explain the difference for me cuz the uneducated yeah so you know how we have Hollywood so mostly we have in India we have Bollywood and tolywood tolywood is from uh there's a different language called pelu from Tamil Naru south of India IND I'm going to butcher this I'm so sorry guys I haven't been in India for like 20 years um but that they have there is a big industry there as well like one of the actor the main actor Ram turn he's the biggest highest paid Telo actor so he's in this movie um's Bollywood Lo but most of Bollywood is in Mumbai okay that makes I can't remember what it was but it looked like very Tom Cruz motorcycle sunglasses but it was again you know 3 hours long huge run time very over the top you get a little bit of every kind of genre aside from maybe like horror films you know scary films in it and uh yeah it basically is that super heightened sense of reality you know it's it's a spectacle that's what it's meant to be you know yeah exactly you go to be detained exactly yeah you get your money's worth that's for sure definitely was entertaining also I think it gives you the vibe of like just keeping in mind that the uh one yeah the British are cartoonishly evil but at one point in time they the sun didn't settle the British because they were taking over the world they're colonizing and they didn't think that the colonizing [ __ ] was wrong which is stupid because it is them taking a child of of a tribe thinking that two pennies are enough for that that that is not on us at all that definitely has happened multiple times I think the movie was great they were able to hit the Friendship um angle with some fun anime tropes the choreography is crazy the action's crazy and over action was insane I loved it and I think the one thing that makes me super super super jealous about uh tolywood and Bollywood movies is just that I know that Africa has some of the same stories because of colonization and like maybe I need to watch more I think Nollywood is that what to call Nigeria Niger to watch some more movies out of Nigeria if y'all know any suggest some but like I need to get into that cuz like these stories of like beating the colonizers has to be like stories all over the [ __ ] planet and India's laying it [ __ ] down which is being able to be like hey here's a fun Blockbuster movie with some history with some love with some ship with some motorcycle hand toam combat I think it's called Nick Hollywood or something like that I've heard of it but the Nigerian like independent film scene basically and it's definitely a thing you know people make yeah they make like lowbudget no budget movies and they're I mean wow you you should see the amount of people that it's crazy Kenny oh oh I most famous pirate yeah I think well um Long John Silver yeah Treasure Island but Treasure Island I'm pretty sure is Blackbeard as well yeah I mean in the show they were both involved but I didn't know also the the dance scene where the dudes like uh so I love that we got this British guy right and he's not showing you any British styles of dancing he's like we got flamco which I'm pretty sure Spanish Tango I'm not sure where Tango's from not from Brit Charleston Charleston which uh the black d drums is like yo what the [ __ ] bro uh it was it wasn't Charleston he said but the movie he was doing was pretty much the [ __ ] Char he's just apprting all the cultures and it's not to say like British don't have their own dance but like he didn't bring any of them Styles in like he's you fool so what that reminded me of was uh I bought this book because cuz um I got this book about uh art right and it's like a it's a cuz I got these film books and in the film books everyone's talking about this one like art book that they had to study in school so I got it it's from like the ' 60s and I read like the first page and it was just like uh the art of the nude was invented when the Greeks started making statues not like Islanders or other people could make such art and I was like excuse me you talking about people in hot climates or butt naked all the [ __ ] time didn't invent nude art literally got the page one of the book I was like all right set this [ __ ] book down and the dud just like Savages do you know how to dance and they're like what are you [ __ ] serious what do you know where you are like are you you [ __ ] around exactly I think that's what that comes to right like it's just they don't want to they didn't understand the other culture and their passion to we understand like no they themselves can take you down like you don't beating somebody in the public that won't scare them that will make them rise up exactly and I think they this movie captured really well this movie had a really good storytelling there was not a scene where I was like oh I'm being it's being repeated I already know what's going to happen there was so many twists I was like I didn't see this coming like there were a few yeah to to its credit there were a few things that yeah I definitely didn't see coming I mean it hits all the right beats of course which you need for a movie of this size and scale and budget you know of course but yeah no it it definitely had some twists and turns that I didn't see coming and uh yeah it's I you know it's so funny because this timing comes when we're watching Miss Marvel and they're talking about the part I and uh you know the stories of like how the British leaving caused such you know obviously chaos in the intale of that and it's just funny the the timing of this because this seems to be pretty much it predates that of course but you can see the circumstance leading up to it basically yeah it was yeah it was a lot um I've heard a couple stories and I don't I mean I grew up in India I like have spent 10 years there but I haven't been back there for 10 years I'm 30 years old um so there there's a history obviously a history is really based into you know like British coming over like then we had national heroes we're trying to fight it we had an independence day like it's much and rooted in that um and the one thing I heard like they in British people left in 1945 around that time and the idea was like the India kind of there was upro happening and then there was war happening and yeah so British couldn't handle the uo that was rising up and handled the other side um which made them leave and is just you know it just they were there for so many years just torturing people what you think was going to happen people just accept them um and you press both of the cultures right you press basically all of the beliefs because I think some of the misguidedness of colonialism was they thought they were introducing their culture to uncivilized societies but in reality what they should have been doing was not colonizing them but working with them learning their culture adapting their culture to set up you know more like I guess Fair Commerce and but that was the point is that all those places that were colonized were literally colonized to extract wealth from country so like for them it was a straight up capitalist deal where it's like hey we need you we need what your country has and we will never pay you we need resources we will never pay you what we think is actually fair for it and when we take it and sell it like the same [ __ ] that I bought over here in India just because I put it on a boat and sold it over here in uh England it's going to sell for way more like we're not talking about like a fair wage or anything and then after that they're like if we can colonize you and we can use your people then that's just our [ __ ] we're here to extract wealth and we're going to use it to make ourselves wealthy and we're going to use it to make sure that you become the global self and we'll stay the global self that way we can still continue to extract W from your I mean not buy and sell the upper steal it we taking it and sell it um for profit because they just like you are un civilized you don't know what you're doing you don't know what you have you don't know you have Indigo you don't have all that stuff and then and we happen to have guns before you did so that means your shit's our [ __ ] now um when I went to when I lived in China I've been to um the Forbidden City and the emperor Summer Palace and places like that and the as you go through and you kind of see you know the the Splendor the Marvel of the architecture and all the cultural history um you learn that you know some of these gigantic pots that you see that are still there you know that are ancient relics used to be covered in Gold but they're not anymore because you know when the British colonized they basically literally scraped every you know scrapped everything for whatever it was worth you got this [ __ ] covered and gold filament dud they just yeah as Vikings they just came and raided this [ __ ] but there's another great movie that we should watch with Khan It's called Lagan it's about cricket match between like the villagers and British people because they wanted to get more tax and they're like okay let's if you play this game play them make their own game yeah yeah they were the one to playing it and then they came to kind of just like came like know we can't pay this taxes like if you can beat us we won't have to pay taxes make a competition um it was a great movie hey I'm down to watch that too yeah that was a really good movie too good sports movie um and yeah like Hollywood's big on like musical but I think they did really well they went a lot of songs into it like four I think yeah three or four yeah three I kind of wish there were more yeah which is surprisingly like because songs are the one that make the movies longer that's why I hate watching them it's like this song Springs me nothing but they trying to make it informational that and I think the songs also that they had they were kind of really short like they were under two minutes I think um but I think that for me like the movie was really well paced and I could easily see how this could easily be broken into two movies elongated you know just like even Miner really as much money out of this as possible you know but they instead like went this route and just made it nice compact it's 3 hours long but it's still compact like it was a ride like as soon as like something got kind of concluded like this whole other thing got introduced and it's just like what they keep on going no it's perfect I think it's one of the best movie I've seen that's way I agree theollywood films age so good uh damn good recommendation from you guys if you have any other fun movies
