[Music] hello there and thank you for having us with you and your family to pray the holy rosary this evening once again we continue to pray for the intentions of the holy father for the unity of the catholic church for those places where the catholic church is going through persecution or crisis that the lord may continue to hold us up together and to lead us forward into the future we also pray for those troubled parts of the world and all the needs of the world especially we cannot forget the pandemic that is still ravaging our world we continue to pray for a speedy solution that we may be able to come to a new kind of normal we also remember your intentions especially those of you who have taken the trouble to put in your prayer petitions in the live chat i mentioned a few names uh amen today as we contemplate the sorrowful mysteries we enter deeply into the mystery of human suffering and we pray that as we are filled with gratitude for what god has done for us in jesus in taking up this kind of suffering his suffering also comes to us as a reminder never to be a cause of suffering for others as we pray these decades let us remember different situations where we ourselves or others cause harm or pain to others in the first decade as we contemplate how jesus went through terrible agony in the garden at the thought of how he was going to be insulted rejected and and put through so much pain as he prayed to the father he even asked let this cup pass from me but not as i will but as you will and so we remember those who experience bullying or any kind of discrimination against them when their human dignity is at stake we pray that if we have been the cause of insult or discrimination against anyone that we may repent of that that we may turn our hearts looking at the suffering of our lord and realize that we ought to respect the dignity of every human being no matter what their bad behavior may be what their ideology may be the lord invites us to love and respect them and not to cause agony to them as we pray let us seek mother mary's intercession that we and others who are cause for pain and anxiety in other people's lives may repent thought that by scourging jesus he might be able to rescue him from from crucifixion and yet we live in times where many may misuse the law to cause torture to others we pray that those who engage in such kind of activities unjustly making use of laws in order to bring torture and pain to others that they may repent because of the merits of jesus christ that we ourselves we may examine our hearts sorrowful mystery as we contemplate how jesus our lord was crowned with dawns the gospel of saint matthew tells us that the soldier stripped off his clothes and threw a scarlet military cloak about him waving a crown of thorns they placed it on his head and a reed in his right hand annealing before him they mocked him saying hail king of the jews what kind of inhuman degradation they bestow on our beloved savior and perhaps our blessed mother has to witness this in this decade we pray for those of us who struggle with lustful temptations with addictions to pornography and those who are perpetrators of sexual assault and rape upon women that the lord as we pray this decade may purify our minds our hearts our vision to look at one another with dignity and respect that no human being may be stripped of their dignity but that we may live more and more in a world that respects every human being every human life we pray for those indulging in human trafficking that they may have a change of heart those involved in producing pornography that they too may receive either a repentance or the the the legal authorities may be able to restrict their activities all by the grace of the mystery as we contemplate how our blessed lord carried the cross we remember that it was a symbol of oppression that he carried upon his shoulders the roman empire used the crucifixion as its ultimate tool to bring about the subjection of peoples under its overpowering might we pray for those of us who have authority over others teachers parents employers even church authorities that those of us who have authority over others may realize that it is delegated authority there is no higher authority than the lord god himself and whatever authority we have been given it is an authority delegated to us by the lord for the service of others we pray that those who misuse their power to abuse those under them may repent and justice may be done we pray that the church herself may set an example by her own behavior towards those who have suffered from abuse and misuse by the authorities of the church we pray that a new generation of christians and christian leaders may arise to truly give flesh to the values of god of the gospel the values taught to us by jesus our savior for this grace we pray to the lord with our blessed mother our father what in heaven hallow be thy name thy kingdom come those in most need of your mercy in this last sorrowful mystery as we gaze upon the crucified lord along with our blessed mother we remember that it is not only a sign of of jesus's tragic death and the injustice of our sins against him but it is also a sign of the lord's victory over sin suffering and all evil in fact in every sacrament we encounter the mystery of the cross where jesus bestows upon us the healing mercy of the father the grace born of the holy spirit that helps us christians to live our christian life and so as we have been reflecting on how our sins cause pain to the lord and to our neighbor we pray that all of us may take advantage of the great sacrament of reconciliation where the lord awaits you and me to give us the healing balm of the father's mercy so that all of us who have acknowledged and recognized sin in our lives may always run to the arms of the merciful father in the sacrament of reconciliation we pray that each of us may strive in our own lives to grow in love of god and of our neighbor and may the prayers of our blessed mother in this decade help us to achieve exactly that our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy
