the task this week and the scripture hi children I was hiding now I'm put up and hope from this one but there's one person I can't hide from and that's gone and that leads us into this week's Scripture which is taken from Psalm 33 and 13 from heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind guys isn't God so good he watches over the whole world even when we make mistakes we don't listen to our moms and dads what does he do he forgives us and he helps us to make better choices but only if listen to him isn't that one it's the colorful that's right and what I want you to do now I'd like to have you listen is one that helped us to tell you about this week's task now can you remember back to the story of Eve in the garden when she took off the fruit but we want you to do is make a picture be as creative as you want and as colorful like me as you want and when you've finished please get your parents to take a picture and send it in to us so you can see just how creative you've you're all well keeping keeping safe during this quarantine time we have taken to the garden so we've taken to outside and we have been trying to be more sustainable we're trying to grow our own vegetables and fruits and I think this time has taught us that really we can't rely no longer on our supermarket and the shared demand and pressures on them that you know we need to be more sustainable and growing my own our own stuff that's exactly what we've been doing but apart from that of course we'd be weeding and we've been working on and we've been sweating and yeah so I grow it maybe eat it so what better way for me to healthy fresh food so that my family has access to healthy [Music] gave a gun dude I everyone welcome to man Hall today I'll be sharing with you my top study tip when practicing math before I do so I just like to ask a question do you know the meaning of matter phobia that is correct mataf obeah is the fear anxiety some students feel when practicing or studying month researchers have discovered that there is no such thing as math brain or math gene but anyone can study or practice math at the highest level now let's get to my study tip my top tip says treat yourself what does this mean it means taking care of yourself this could be in the form of a snap playing video games watching television or just about doing anything you like once again thank you for listening hi everyone my name is Apollo person and I'm a key stage 1 and phase leader in a primary school locally to Arab worship the top London and I'm also a self-employed tutor now parents this is feeding that wait I know I know but past five to six weeks have many of us go but stop me it's okay lots of us that are think that we're doing too much or some are doing too little but here are a few top tips to help you on that journey of being a tutor home schooler mommy teacher now the first one is routine children are used to having a routine during the day so if you help set that and establish that routine with your child not only will it make it easy for you to know the set timetable of the day in terms of eating exercise lunchtime afternoon snack etc it would just help you with your own mental health and your own well-being because trying to wash around doing little bits here and there if we haven't got a structure it's more stressful and as we know stress without stress another tip would be to network with other people so we're talking talking to the schools that are working tirelessly the teachers to get you learning to get your children prepared for their new normal and other parents in the class or parents that you know if there's something you don't know reach out and speak to someone but someone will be able to help you and if you're struggling with those networks then I mean I'm sure if you've got an email through to your school they'd be able to pass that on to the class teacher who would therefore be able to support you the final one which I also think is very interesting is having some view time as much as you have built structure into your child's day you need to remember that you are still you and your children need to remember that as well so work with them but have some time for you these dress you know have several way time if you can do that at all and just relax you have a time even if it means getting up a little bit earlier in the morning so that you can breathe and be yourself I hope this helps show your children that you'll find they're not just mummy teacher and love every day enjoy every moment because as bad as it says many of us will not have the opportunity to being a bachelor in this way take care look after yourselves bye bye isn't it nice to see some of our tap family and the little kids have really grown and our Peter walked on water and last week's teaching was called it's a reflection we're doing every week we're not preaching hard we're just giving a general teacher reflection last week we called it tested we asked the question have you been tested and so I'm going to go and check that out on our YouTube channel from last week after this and today as I said is an addendum to last week last week we kind of talked about the storm this week I want to show you a different storm that many people think is the same thing but it's actually a different storm that took place earlier which actually is gives more clarity as to why Jesus could ask pizza man how can you what happen to your faith you've been through storms you've seen how I operate in storms you should have been able to manage this one so we're gonna go to Mark's Gospel this week we're gonna look at it from mark's perspective never forget that each of the Gospel writers I know we just think of the Bible as the Bible when you looking at the New Testament especially in these New Testament gospel writers they're actually given us in effect witness statements about what they remember and what stood out to them concerning different episodes as they walked out their life with Jesus for three and a half years yep three and a half years they had a a bachelor's degree in Jesus ology so to speak three and a half years they studied Jesus they walked with Jesus he was their rabbi he was their mentor he was their guide and they learned from him and so what we're looking at today is Mark's perspective on a storm that took place earlier than the storm that happened where Peter walked on the water so to catch up remember go check out last week's teaching but today I want us to look at Mark's Gospel chapter four mark chapter four and verse 35 mark 4:35 we're gonna put it on screen teams doing an amazing job put it on screen for his team thank you Mark chapter four verse 35 says that day when evening came when evening came interesting when evening came he said to his disciples let us go over to the other side leaving the crowd behind they took him along just as he was in the boat there were also other boats with him a furious squall I love those old words a storm came up and the waves broke over the boat so that it was nearly swamped Jesus was in the stern he's in the back of the boat sleeping on a cushion he's got the cushion he's got his pillow he's got his pillow on the back of the boat and Jesus is sleeping in the storm my god the disciples woke him and said to him teacher don't you care if we drown he got up watch this now specificity of what he does is intriguing to me today he rebuked the wind and said to the waves quiet be still then the wind died down and it was completely calm he said to his disciples why are you so afraid do you still have no faith they were terrified and asked each other who is this even the wing and the waves obey Him I love this particular Texan ah today's title you know we're still in the thought that we began several weeks ago that some of you might remember several weeks ago we began that thought 2 5 7 second corinthians 5 verse 7 says we walk by faith and not by sight we don't deny what we see but we don't allow what we see to dictate where we step we don't allow what we see to dictate what we do how we flow in God we don't allow the negativity around us to stop us flowing in God so we walk by faith or not by sight I need at least a hundred of you across all platforms I could ask a thousand by the time this is all rebroadcast and people catch up but I want at least a hundred of you just adjust a hashtag to five seven if you realize that this is the generation this is the season this is the moment for you to walk by faith and not by sight two five seven is our second Corinthians 5:7 Scripture that's the overture over the last few weeks under which we've been teaching but today today we've just read about Jesus in an earlier storm than last week and I want us to use this for a title so look at your neighbor look at your neighbor if you're in a room with somebody as I said if you're not with anybody look back at me and just just look at me and point your finger I know they say pointing is rude but God will forgive you as we said last week just look at me and just say roots just say roots roots that's what we're talking about today that's what I want to use if I may just arrest your attention just for a few moments and paint on the canvas of your minds a concept of perspective concerning roots look at your neighbor again and say you need to get your roots done look at somebody else to get your roots done look at somebody else as they check your roots your roots your roots roots roots roots roots is what we want to talk about today you know I find it fascinating as I study text like this is fascinating to me how much intrigue and how much insight there is into every episode that we encounter with our Lord master and Savior Jesus Christ but when I pull out of the scripture and I look about what's going on around and connected to some things it fascinates me as I look around the Bala coal devastation is going on around the world because of this coded 19 disease caused by this coronavirus it worries me when we look around the world and we're seeing some people not taking things seriously and making sure that they stay and abide by the social isolation and the social distancing I should say rules it's very important for us to do that to protect ourselves but what's fascinating to me is this topic of PPE personal protective equipment and we've heard in the United Kingdom how our own amazing staff who man our care homes and work in the care industry and our on the NHS front lines how they've been struggling with this PPE issue this personal protective equipment and it fascinates me as I look because what seems to be coming a symbol of this war on this virus is the ultimate PPE equipment the optimum PPP equipment which we call the hazmat suit that hazmat suit some of you will recognize it whenever you see this you know something significant is going on something serious is out there that we need to be protected from their hazmat suit I find it fascinating and I think it's inside of the hazmat suit inside of the name hazmat suit the name hazmat suit though we get really definition of what its real purposes and its real purpose of course hazmat that stands for of course as many of you know the hazardous material suit it's a suit that protects you from hazardous material it's a suit they're supposed to stop what you're in getting in you it's supposed to stop what you're in getting in you and that might sound strange concerning scripture and concerning Christianity and concerning your walk in your life but the truth be told there are some people and some attitudes that can be hazardous material to us yeah there are some situations we can find ourselves in that can be hazardous material and it's interesting as I look in scripture because the scripture talks about a certain kind of spiritual PPE in other words what what what the has suit is in the natural to protect us from physical viruses and physical dangers and hazardous material physically faith is uh-huh faith is our protection from spiritual and difficult situations that we go through that could attack us spiritually and so what we have here as we look especially in the book of Ephesians we have the artisan tent maker from Tarsus the theological genius who teaches us the guy named Paul he talks to us in Ephesians 6 and he tells us that we should put on the whole armor of God and he's teaching us about spiritual PPE about what we can do to guard ourselves against these spiritual attacks of the enemy against bad attitudes toxic environments that are negative towards our spiritual spirit man in our soulish man and our minds and he tells us to put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6 but I love Ephesians 6 and 16 it's verse 16 I love especially because as you put it on screen put that on screen for me it's verse 16 look at verse 16 and it's fascinating to me because he talks about faith faith as the shield he says when we put on our equipment our spiritual PPE he says your faith is your shield the faith is the real defense mechanism against the difficult attacks of the enemy and I won't come back to me real quick because I want us to realize how important our faith is and this is why the enemy comes against you so hard he's not so much after your job he's not so much even though your job might feel like you're under attack it's under attack he's not so much after your family even though sometimes your family feels like his under attack he's not someone after even your relationships even though it's your relationships that sometimes feel like they're under attack what he's after is crippling your faith because if you can make a rip a tear a hemorrhage in your faith suit your spiritual PPE he has access to make sure that what you're going through gets in you and what we have here in the scripture in mark chapter 4 is Jesus his attitude is behavior is giving us evidence of somebody who is teaching us how to make sure what you're in doesn't get in you Jesus is in a storm Jesus is going through a storm he's in a storm right now the disciples are on the boat he's on the boat with them and they're in a storm Jesus is in a storm yet he has peace on the inside so much peace that he's asleep he decides to go to sleep he's going through a storm but the storm doesn't cause him stress he's teaching us how we can go through things without allowing what we're going through to get inside of us and I love this because Jesus is showing us that he's got the ultimate spiritual PPE and I want us to recognize that today because I think it's important for us to maximize and turn up our faith and recognize the fact that the enemy often tries to come against us to tear and destroy and knock down our faith I love this I love this particular text because it gives us so much insight into how Jesus wants us to be when we're going through difficulty it's not that we deny the storm it's not that we deny we're going through tough situations but we need to get to the stage where we're grown up and mature enough that we don't let what we're going through what we're in to get in us watch this now is interesting because they're in this storm and there are a few things there are a few things from this episode that I want to pull out today just a few things I told you we're gonna be a little bit shorter today I know we were real long last week so I want to give you some time back and this is just an addendum to last week but there are still a few things in the behavior of Jesus that I think we can learn an extract wisdom from concerning how we need to conduct ourselves and how we need to aspire as Jesus is always the exemplary who we learn from it's interesting here number one of course watch this Jesus the Bible lets us know that Jesus if you study this from just a few verses before you realize that Jesus himself was actually on the boat before they'd set sail Jesus was using the boat as a platform he was using it as a stage from which he could teach the crowd who were lined up on the seashore he's on the Sea of Galilee again this is an earlier episode to the storm we talked about last week but remember he's on the boat the boat is his platform it's his pulpits it's his podium he's pushed out just a little bit from the shore and he's teaching the crowds giving them insight fresh thinking into the kingdom of God into how God's kingdom works into what they should be taking seriously into how they should move away from the religiosity of the Pharisees of the negativity of the Sadducees how they should start following the new way of the kingdom of God because the kingdom of God is at hand Jesus teaches them and here's what he uses is what I love what he uses kind of connects with our topic today because what he uses from the very beginning of his teaching at the very beginning of his teaching at the very end of his teaching at the very beginning of his teaching on the boat and at the very end of his teaching on the boat Jesus uses the metaphor of seed he teaches them about seed of course Jesus is always trying to be relative he's trying to relate he's trying to connect with the people with which he's in encounter who he's encountered who he's in countering who is engaging with and so these were mainly farmers and so he uses something that connects with them to bring revelation and to bring insight so they can receive elevation and how they serve God and so he teaches them at the very beginning of his teach he uses the topic of seed and at the very end just before the evening kicks in and they push out to go to the other side he teaches them about seed why am i talking about seed I want to prove pull that in because I think seed is a very fascinating topic especially as it relates to our title today you see because seed here we go number one first thing we've got to understand is that every one of us and I tell my church this all the time my amazing tab church members I miss you like crazy and you recognize this because pastor always talks about the fact that every one of us has been given a seed of greatness if you want you can look at yourself as a seed of greatness ace is packed with potential it's packed with potential no matter how bad you feel about yourself no matter what your background may be no matter what you think of yourself you are a seed full of potential but different seed requires different soil that's the first thing I want to say different seed requires different soil and here's the other thing I want to say concerning seed that I need you to remember God develops you at the speed of a seed God develops you at the speed of a scene I know this is the inste generation whether it's Instagram or instant food we are the insta generation we want everything done now we want to reach the top the zenith we want to become the doyen of our demographic right now we want to reach them heights and the pinnacle of our careers now but God teaches us that he is a God of process I need you just if you're sitting in a room with somebody just look at your neighbor and say process process yeah if you're not looking at anybody look at me and just say process it's a it's a word that's unpopular in this generation but God even if you listen to the language of how God operates in Scripture the language of God in Scripture is always giving us insight and revelation of the fact that God is a God of process he says things like I will order your steps did you notice that he didn't say your jumps he didn't say your leaps he didn't even say your runs he said I'll order your steps I'm the God of steps are you hearing me and I need us to recognize that even if you go back to the book of Genesis and I don't want to spend too long on this I'm a preacher's I could spend long on it but if you even go back to the book of Genesis the God who could have you could have made the world appear like that with the cook of a finger decides to take his time daily every day he creates something new he adds to the world whether it's animals grass seas stars he adds he adds each day he adds until he's had a complete portrait a complete presentation a complete finished product presented before him but he takes his time because he is a God of pros and I don't want that to be an encouragement to somebody today to let you know that this is not the time to throw in the towel on God God is developing you at the speed of a seed why do I say the speed of a seed here's what I want to talk about with that first of all and then we'll switch to your seed of greatest being planted in soil see seeds always grow roots first watch this now they grow down first are you hearing me seeds grow roots first they go roots before they sprout there's roots before they sprout and I want us to recognize that God will grow you at the speed of a seed and that's why we're talking about roots today because I want us to recognize that we need to investigate our roots now here's what happens with the seed the seed gets placed in soil and soil I have an acronym that I use all the time again mytab church folk will recognize this the acronym I use for soil because the environment that you are placed in will help mature and cause your seed to germinate and that environment is your soil and your soil is often watch this now how you put it on screen start out in life how you start out in life how you start out in life that's your soil and unfortunately sometimes you start out in life in bad soil in soil that's not right for your seed I won't do one of you here in me here whether it's a negative family an abusive family an abusive father and abusive mother and negative environment negative friendships in in a young age that now are negative and are no good for the maturation of your seed maybe you are in the soil of a negative church environment and the truth be told and you know all Christians aren't perfect and unfortunately sometimes we start out in life in a negative place and that's why you'll see dozen germinating that's why it's important once you find the right soil hear me now once you find the right soil you need to send your roots down into that soil and refuse to be moved and don't allow the enemy to move you from so that's right for your seat see different seat requires different soil you can't take a palm tree a palm tree from the beach you can't take a palm tree from the beach and plant it in the park we have our Central Park right here in London Hyde Park you can't take a palm tree from the beach in Miami planter in Hyde Park the seed you can't take that seed and expect it to mature as well if at all as if it was placed by the beach run in the beach or right by the beach in its own real natural habitat and environment in the same way you can't take an oak tree from Hyde Park that seed you can't take the seed of an oak tree from Hyde Park and plant it on the beach and expect that to grow in the same way as it would in its own natural habitat and environment because different seed requires different soil and that's why it's important for you to make sure that you get yourself into the right soil how you start out in life sometimes isn't a right isn't well isn't good it's not your fault but sometimes you find yourself in a negative environment and that's why it's vital for you to understand that God gives you a new start out in life that's part of what we mean about being born again are you hearing me part of you being born again is giving you an opportunity for a new start out in life that's why I encourage everybody who's watching me today if you are not a follower of Christ this season is a season for you to think about once you get through this to start out in Christ in the right kind of soil by being born again you reach out to us we can talk to you about that just let us know you want to talk about it and we will reach back out to you and tell you about how you can be born again listen seed Jesus teaches them about seed and I love this because it gives me an opportunity to teach about seed because seed as I said requires soil requires the right kind of soil for it to germinate the it to manifest for it to start sprouting up and it's important that you understand the seed God works at the speed of a seed and seed grows roots first roots roots is interesting to me Jesus starts teaching them about seed and then now we switch now real quick because we start seeing that the guy decide with Jesus Jesus says to them let's go to the other side isn't it interesting similar to the same story last week in Matthew 14 and you can also read that story about Pizza walking on the water and that storm there later on in mark as well but the fact is isn't it interesting that every time they decide to go to the other side every time they start to progress every time they want to make movement that's when storms kick off here's what I found out the enemy doesn't mind so long as you're stagnated so long as there's no progression in your life but God is a God who is a mover the Bible says in him we live and move and have our being from the very first time we are introduced to God in the book of Genesis the Bible says the Spirit of the Lord God if you look at the original Hebrew language I know you don't need to bother with that that's the preachers job but trust me in the original language it teaches us that the Spirit of the Lord God moved over the deformed earth and began creation and this is what we have we have a God who is a mover when you're in God you are going to progress and this is what the enemy doesn't want he does not want us representing God by progressing so storms isn't it always the moment you decide that you're gonna go to the other side the other side of no productivity the other side of no progression the other side of no mood once you stop moving once progression starts they say Jesus says to them let's go to the other side they like Jesus let's go they jump on the boat and boom straightaway the storm starts why didn't storm come before because the enemy don't mind so long as you stay in the same place with no progression in your life but the moment you decide to progress that's when the storm starts hitting that's why I believe storms are a sign storms are a sign of the fact that something right often is happening in your life often time though all the time but oftentimes storms are a sign that something's happening in your life I need you to recognize this watch this now some people often asked why would God allow the storm here's what I found out with God number one I found that the often time when we see storms we natural have an inclination to believe that storms are for our destruction know when you're a child of God stones are not for your destruction they are usually for your watch this they're either for your correction or for your direction either God will put that on screen for me just put it on screen storms when you're a child of God storms are not about your destruction they are about your watch this your correction or your direction in other words God's trying to correct you and get you to go in the right direction so he allows the storm to come or you're going in the wrong direction or you're going in the right direction and he wants to give you some gussto to push you even forward more forward and give you more momentum storms for the children of God here it is stalls for children of God a not for your destruction they're for your correction or your direction I love this here in this scripture because the storm kicks in watch this now the storm kicks in and as the storm kicks in the guys stop freaking out watch this they have left the shore and the moment you decide to leave the shore the moment you decide I'm gonna start that business the moment you decide I'm gonna I'm gonna step out the boat like pizza did last week the moment you decide to push off from the shore now some of you are here in shore as in shor8bit I'm speaking about the SU re because some of us always want to stay where ever think is sure when we're sure of everything where we're sure of where the next finance where the next money's coming from the next piece of money's coming from next amount of money's coming from next jobs coming from you want to stay where they shal but I found out that sometimes to push your faith God has to allow you to step out push out from the shore and as they push up from the shore that's when the storm comes and here's something else I want you to notice about this storm situation this is interesting to me because last week guys last week Jesus was not in the boat with them and a storm came Matthew 14 he was not in the boat with them and a storm came and I guess we could kind of understand that Jesus is not with them and so they need Jesus so that storms don't come some of you think that but that's theologically inaccurate that's not really how life works because this this is an earlier storm and Jesus is now in the boat with them I'd give you he's asleep but he's in the boat with them they have the presence of God with them and a storm still comes why am i mentioning that because I want you to get rid of this notion that when you have God with you storms don't come those of us have been walking with Christ long enough we know storms are not selective storms are a part of life storms come whether you're with God or without God storms come whether you're a Christian or a non-christian the difference is is have you got Christ in the storm see at least the disciples who represent us in the text the disciples can run to Jesus and ask Jesus for help it's having Christ in the storm that makes us different as Christians it's not that we don't go through redundancies it's not that we don't go through sometimes divorces it's not that sometimes we don't go through people betray us it's not that we don't go through sickness is though that we don't go for difficulty the difference is is that we've got Christ in the storm I wonder if I can find a hundred and fifty people who will send some fast light your page up on Facebook with fire symbols light your page up on YouTube with fire symbols if you found the difference is is when you've got Christ in the storm the storm does not stop you the storm does not stop you when you've got Christ in the storm it's different it's different when you go cry see when you ain't got Christ sometimes you're gonna need alcohol you're under need drugs you're gonna need something that you start leaning on to help you get through the storm or to cope with the store but when you got Christ it's not the storms don't come is that that you can sail through the storm and the storm does not stop you I found that in my life and I thank God for his presence in my life I love this I love this here because we're dealing with this issue of the storm and we're dealing with this issue of Jesus teaching about the seed I want to make this comment real quick before we move on because I think it's interesting when we talked about the seed some of you are using this season of isolation remember you are a seed of greatness I mentioned this earlier you are a seed of potential and some of you are using this this season listen to me you're using this season as just hibernation when animals hibernate they're actually just conserving energy they're sleeping they're chillin you know they're they're away for the winter they're a wager in the rough time as some of you are getting that you're using this season of lockdown this season of isolation just to chill just to get some rest and that's fair enough that's fine but please please please please don't use the whole season as just rest as just hibernation and not watch this now for your seed intubation see that's what soil does to a seed soil is an incubator for a seed soil is an incubator for a seed so provides incubation and some of you while you're in hibernation you're gonna miss this moment as an opportunity for incubation incubation what does an incubator do it helps something grow it gives the right environment for something to develop for something to grow even a baby if a baby is born to prematurely too early we put that baby to protect it and to also help it grow and develop in an environment that's different from the regular environment that we live in we put that baby in an environment and we call an incubator it's in incubation to help that baby develop for several weeks or help that baby grow for several weeks and God may have you in this season so that the seed of greatness on the inside of you receives incubation don't just be in hibernation being incubation so by the time you come out of this lockdown isolation you have got a whole new level of maturation you have got a whole new level of elevation you have gone from one level to the next don't come out of this the same way you went in Jesus now he's on the boat with the disciples they push off from shore the storm hits them it's evening time can you imagine these disciples most of them are fishermen they're freaking out because of the storm and they cannot Jesus is asleep in the storm now now we could argue this we could discuss this all day we could use conjecture and if you'd allow me a little imagination you know that's confidence let me tell you about confidence when you bring a pillow into a storm your main the enemy know that no weapon formed against me shall prosper I'm gonna get my rest you're not gonna disturb my rest in the Middle East or Jesus his humanity is manifested here of course he is fully God and fully man and his humanity is manifested in the fact that he is feeling tired so he goes to sleep in the storm Jesus is sleeping in the storm now I love this because if you fast track the story if you ever get a chance to fast track the story and go to the end of the story by the time the boat gets to the other side Jesus is the first it seems the scripture is inferring that he's the first off the boat how is it that Jesus is the first off the boat to go and do ministry to go and heal the sick to go and raise the dead someone cast out demons through exorcism how is it jesus is going out there to help people as soon as the boat gets that other side he gets this excitement he gets this zeal he gets this zest he's ready to get out the boat the moment he gets to the other side but yet in the storm he's sleeping you'd have thought that he'd have been seen up in up up and awake and alert and lively during the store but no he's asleep during the storm and I think that's a picture I think it's a picture to us because remember who was in the boat with him the disciples they're freaking out they were trying to wake Jesus up they saying don't you care that we drown what's wrong with you how you sleeping in the storm wake up and rescue us wake up and save us we're freaking and they're freaking out they're afraid and Jesus is asleep in the storm but when it gets to the other side he jumps out the boat here's what I found it's a picture to us it's a picture that teaches us something about God see why is it why is it he's asleep in the storm but yet he's ready to kind of jump out the boat when he gets to the other side for ministry here's what I found out I found out that doubt makes God sleep but faith makes him leap doubt makes God sleep but faith makes him leap if you ever want to attract but I'd be to turn your faith up and you start to see God show up in your life like never before things activated in your life like never before when you stop operate with a certain level of belief because faith turns God on faith attracts God faith draws God faith switches him up faith dials about faith draws God without faith it's impossible the Bible says to please God this Jesus that we serve is asleep in the storm and the disciples are freaking out because they're looking at the storm now this falls in line with our 2 5 7 principle see what they were what they were doing here watch this now I talked to you last week about being seasick here's what I want to mention this week I wanna I wanna encourage everybody to lift your eyes above sea level above sea level now I'm not talking about SCA I'm talking about s EE put that on screen see sea level is when you're focused on what's in front of you there are more than what's on the inside of you the faith that belief the vision that God gave you sea level is when you're focused on what's in front of you more than what God's placed on the inside of you the vision the promise the direction and this is something the disciples have done now God told them Jesus told them we're gonna go to the other side but yet they're seeing this storm and they're focused on sea level this year this season is the season to lift your eyes above sea level we don't operate based on what we see the Bible tells us in second Corinthians 5 verse 7 here it is again somebody typing up for me to five-seven right on screen everybody two five seven two five seven we walk by faith and not by sight here's what I've realized many of us if we went to the opticians if we went to the opticians most of us the opticians would probably tell us that we haven't got the best eyesight but here's something worse than not having the best eyesight is having bad inside is when internally your insight is negative is when internally you have a bad way of interpreting situations from the internals and it's very important for us to raise our eyes above sea level Jesus wakes up and he looks at the disciples like what is wrong with you I'm in the boat with you how can you be afraid of the storm when you've got the Prince of Peace how can you be afraid of the storm when you've got the Prince of Peace I hope you're enjoying this reflection I'm having fun in it how can you enjoy how can you how can you be afraid of the storm when you have the Prince of Peace Jesus then gets up now watch this and here's where we want to get to he gets up and again his behavior teaches us something I believe which is a picture that gives us an insight into the characteristic of God and into what God wants I believe to do with us in this season Jesus gets up and watch what he does the Bible says he gets up and he rebukes Harewood here's what he does he rebukes the wind and he commands the waves he says peace to the wind and be still to the waves peace be still that's the phrase he uses and he's addressing two elements two things he says peace to the wind and be still to the waves notice the specificity of the order I believe this order is intentional I believe it's a picture that teaches us how God is trying to operate with us in this season see what God's trying to do is do with our roots the root cause of some of the negative effects that we've endured and we've seen manifesting in our lives the root cause that's really what I'm really talking about the root cause what do you mean by that Pastor unpack it for me a little more let me unpack it for you thank you for asking see it's interesting to me that Jesus does not address the waves first he addresses the wind because it's the wind that was causing the waves the root of the storm was the wind the wind causes the waves he does not repeat the waves first he rebukes the wind first he addresses the root of the issue first before he goes to the fruit of the issue see roots always produce fruits sometimes the fruit of bad relationships you're finding so constantly dating and in bad relationships negative people they're the fruit the fruit of always being in debt always having no money always having struggle and I accept there are systemic issues out there that sometimes affect certain demographics I get that but the fruit often time can be traced to a root on the inside of us our behavior and I believe that this is a season where God wants us to look at our roots now when you heard me announce that title at the beginning I know many of you are thinking I'm talking to the woman who are having to sacrifice the salon during this season I was talking about your hair roots I'm talking about the root cause of why some negative effects keep manifesting in your life why the fruit of negativity keeps coming up in your life is because there are root causes that God wants you to spend time being honest about accepting they are there and then addressing them so that they go so that by the time you come out of this season of isolation you come out fresher better further more developed than you've ever come out before the new you here's been my goal this has been my goal over the last few weeks to make sure I inspire you to make sure that the new you emerges from this old situation I want the new you to come out of this I want when you come out people the people who thought they could manipulate you the people who thought you'd never be anything I shocked to see that you've spent time not just in hibernation but in incubation where God has developed you and you've addressed some of these roots why do you keep getting into these relationships why do you still date negative people why is it that you still you keep losing jobs why is it do you keep looking getting overlooked for promotion we can't always blame the outside we can't always blame other people we can't always consistently blame system sometimes we've got to make sure that every negative root on the inside of us is dealt with here's what I found out in this generation put it on screen here's what I found in this generation once I say put it on screen please as I want the people to see this this generation wants pain watch this down pain relief and not pain remedy put it on screen we want pain relief and not pain remedy see pain relief and not pain remedy we want pain relief see when we when you get a headache when you get a headache you take a pill ibuprofen uh it's Tylenol whatever you take and you take that to relieve the pain but it's not necessarily addressing the cause of the pain is not necessarily addressing the rim it's not bringing remedy is bringing relief and this is a season where I want us all every negative route that we've been overlooking that we've been pushing aside that we've been ignoring I want us to address that route so that when we come out we come out with better fruit I want the route our I pray this day that the root of negative thoughts that produces the fruit of negative action will be changed in Jesus name negative thoughts sometimes other roots of low self-esteem negative roots I want us to destroy I want us to uproot some things in this season so that we come out producing better fruit if there's bad fruit the first thing you should check is the root you know guys I want us to understand the changing and addressing our roots is gonna take honesty you know sometimes it's negative habits that are the root cause of some of our negativity as I said earlier these habits now listen they say they say habits are hard to change they say if you if you if you if you take away the H you're left with a bit if you take away the h-2a and the beat you're still left with it and habits take some real intentional focus to address and sometimes those are the roots that we need to address so that we change the fruits of negativity that we've seen in our lives this is the season while you're by yourself while you've got time while you can spend time with God while you can really research some of the roots that are causing the negative fruits this is the time to do root checking to check our roots so that we make sure we produce the ripe fruits Jesus went to the root of the problem not the waves he went first of all to the wind and I know it's a simple picture but it's a picture that gives us the fact that God is a God of order when you pray to God and say God deliver me and help me with my finances the first thing God wants to do is deal with the roots rather than just give you more money he wants to address the roots when you're saying God work out how comes Lord send me the right kind of person why do I keep breaking up with people why is it always the negative people to come into my life I can't date the right person the first thing God wants to do is address the roots let's climb inside of your heart your mind how you see you God always deals with the roots the same way we saw last week with Peter walking on the water Jesus did not first of all deal with the situation he dealt with Peter and said Peter why did you doubt the issue is not the situation that issue is you let's do with the roots I want to pray for you lift your hands with me everybody Father we thank you for today we thank you for this addendum this attachment to last week's teach Lord last week we talked about tested this week we've asked ourselves that and we've challenged ourselves really to look at our roots Lord this is a season that we can't afford to waste Lord there have been some negative fruits that we've seen in our lives sometimes it's financial sometimes it's in Korea sometimes it's in relationship and Lord we need to open up and be honest with ourselves and come to you and say God help me to address the root cause I'm not just praying about the waves I'm praying about the wind I know it's the wind is causing the waves I can't keep complaining about the waves and not addressing the wind I can't keep complaining about the waves that are blowing down going on in my life and not addressing the wind that's blowing in my life I've got to address the root cause of these issues father I pray that you'll give us potency give us power give us strength give us zeal give us commitment to addressing the rich so that we come out of this isolation situation not just having been in hibernation but been in incubation so that we will manifest and become the greater version of us that you've called us to be I ask these things to be done in the name of Jesus and I also pray father for those people who realize they need Jesus in the boat in their boat father I pray for everybody who's watching this who's not yet father of Christ they don't really have your you in their life fully as followers of Christ I pray that they will be bolding a bold enough to reach out to us bold enough to stretch out to us to reach out to us to dial
