Rockport Beach Weekend

hey guys for some odd reason you're watching boondocking with Dennis I'm here at the Circle at Rockport Beach it's around 3 30 in the afternoon officially 91 degrees with a heat index of 102. 15 mile per hour winds right out of the South and oddly enough 69 percent humidity which is actually low for us it actually does feel a little cooler today there's Key Allegro that's a man-made Island I want to thank Bobby and Donna who dropped me off barbecue out of the blue this is from Max absolutely delicious potatoes and bacon mac and cheese sausage pickles onions pork ribs barbecue sauce thank you so much Donna and Bobby very nice to meet you they're visiting from Maine that Saltwater Pool Rockport Beach here is a man-made beach in case you didn't know it and that saltwater pool was put together by the Aransas County navigation District right around 1935. the island of Key Allegro which is behind us is a man-made Island it was built on mud flats and that started around 1961. can you tell I read an article about the history of Rockport Rockport was founded in 1867. any other questions Bueller anyone anyone it's a nice day it's a weekend there's people here at the beach everyone's kind of in that Siesta mode it's the hottest time of the day and everyone's just slowing down a little bit [Music] do you guys know why camels are sand colored camouflage [Applause] camouflage that was painful I got that one on the worldwide interwebs I also want to thank my friends uh Bob Lucy Emma and Joe who sent me a gift today on the cash app thank you very much guys greatly appreciate you and I hope we get to hang out again sometime soon I still haven't met Lucy yet by the way Joe is my friend here in town Emma Bob and Lucy are her dogs I'm sorry her roommates it's a little bit choppy over here in the channel today earlier I spotted dolphins in Little Bay which is kind of behind us right now where the circle is and it's always nice to be doing something and just see the dolphins coming by going on their morning constitutional [Music] if you're new to my channel you should probably sign off right now and go find one that's actually good I live full time in my F-150 with a Lear topper I last slept indoors almost two years ago July 18th will be two years since I slept indoors I have no desire to how do you sleep in your truck without air conditioning at night in South Texas I uh I get real tired and I pass out how do you keep cool I don't it's hot it's hot I have a DeWalt fan and several batteries and uh chill pads this time of year not buying ice at night before I went to bed to put my chill pads in would uh really be stupid in a health risk I think I would actually overheat without that my engine uh idles High so I got to keep that sucker cool hmm I think I found a piece of pork rib between my teeth that's good stuff they had the pickles and onions on the side on that and I ate that like it was a appetizer ate the pickles and onions first and uh Bobby and Donna they did not put wheat bread in that there was no wheat bread in that bag they said they had ordered me wheat bread was that okay so I'm gonna go out there and uh have words with someone it was really good though I even had barbecue in a few months don't tell anyone that they might run me out of Texas people are fishing today I don't see anyone fishing I have seen many people littering thanks for visiting if you would just leave your money and take your trash at least take it to the trash can that would be great you might only come here a few times a year but the rest of us live here I was talking with uh someone a group of people in a golf cart a little bit ago and we don't think the black skimmers have had their babies yet but it seems like there's little seagulls behind every little shrub around here so the seagulls are all ready for action and the the eggs of the uh black skimmers as far as I can tell have not hatched yet and there's a few hundred right in the area over at the Circle not too many open spots uh the beach filled up pretty quick I I was over here fairly early and there was already a good amount of people here when I got here at like 8 30 in the morning there's the Honey Wagon that's the truck that cleans up the porta potties oh you go ahead ma'am you go ahead sir she waved thank you thank you that goes a long way I am going to leave Rockport Beach I have a couple small things to put in the blessing box and I just want to see what is over there and then pick up some things in the morning and drop it off there's some dudes I notice a lot of people use those little baby carriers either for their dogs or just to carry supplies someone gave me these two can openers for the blessing box so I just want to drop them off it looks pretty bare I see uh peas green beans mixed vegetables two bags of cereal some pasta mac and cheese and a ripped open Peg of beans for some reason I guess someone took half a bag of beans and a jug of water we should leave bottles of water in here huh that might be a good idea and I'll pick those up tomorrow morning and swing by and filler up just a weekend in a tourist town this is the downtown area where all the art and souvenir shops are there's an ice cream place and people are having a good time made my way back to my hiding spot here at the Circle where I can watch the boats go by chill out not a whole lot of boat traffic like it's usually like a highway along here on the weekends maybe that'll happen uh later tonight Fourth of July weekend is coming up that's going to be uh yeah it's going to be crowded nice and peaceful today well guys I don't want to take up your whole morning thanks for riding along with me today thanks for the barbecue thank you to Joe and her pups for the gift thanks for
