Roborock q revo robot vacuum 6 month update (maintenance tips)

well merry Christmas everybody all right so today we're going to talk about something I I purchased this was back in July now this is the robo Rock Q Revo and previously I had the S5 which was it did have a m mop attachment but I never used it it didn't have self uh vacuuming or anything like that but this one does uh you know obviously a robot it does have a lar sensor I mean you can look into that this is not really like to talk about all the features but this is to talk about how if I like it if you know I wish I would have got something else or whatever so let me start off with I did I did have a robo Rock S5 and I actually had that for about four years and that thing to be honest with you it worked pretty awesome for what it was it was the first robot vacuum I ever had and when I went to purchase another one I was considered ing other models but I was really probably wanting to stick with Robo Rock because I had such success with the previous one so I ended up going with this one right so this one is does have the uh like the same type it's almost like the same type as the S5 but this has the self- tining bin and then it also has the water container so it has one with fresh water and with the bad water because it cleans itself right so this one has it does also does have a heater so it dries the pads right but so let me first off uh first say that I absolutely love this thing this this thing is awesome now what a lot of people don't realize though is that these vacuums they're not just a end all you know you plug it in and it just let it go and it you know cleans and never have to worry about it well no that's not the way it is so let me explain right so this thing I have set to basically every day on a schedule it starts and it vacuums okay so matter of fact it's probably getting ready to start here in a minute now that I think about it but so it starts and it vacuums and it vacuums my all my hard floors right now at first I did have it doing the carpet but I thought about it and I thought you know what in order to maintain this thing and to get the the most out of it I thought you know what I'm only going to have it do the floors and honestly works out just fine you know because I just have uh my boy do vacuum the bedrooms I have carpet in the bedrooms right so let's look around here you can see so I have this hard floor and the floor goes pretty much throughout the entire house right but as you can see I have a dog right here I have another lazy one right here and there's a little lazy one right there she's the only one allowed on the couch so I have a excuse me I have a lot of uh of these floors these hard floors right so this you can see all of the stuff that my wife puts out in order to and like for Christmas and whatever I mean just imagine right so this this stuff wasn't here a few days ago you know well maybe like a week ago she set all this stuff up right now this little vacuum it somehow navigates all of that craziness right with without an issue it navigates it so so every day I have a set to vacuum and once a week I have it set to mop right but on occasion I will do a manual I'll go in the app and I'll manually mop right so let's say the dogs tracked some dirt in or some mud or I don't know whatever right or or just maybe I had a bunch of people over and uh you know you just get the high traffic so I wanted to mop so I will manually mop so normally on this one what I do is I fill this is the you see it's pretty full this is the clean water container and I fill this from my refrigerator right so let's see so I must have one run you can see it's got the bad the dirty water in there so I must have one run on it right so normally what I do is once a week and uh I have skipped weeks but I try to do it every week I will the little bit of Maintenance do you got to make sure you fill that up with water you got to make sure you empti the dirty one and clean it out right cuz you don't want it to be nasty and also down here this is I'm probably should be changing this sometime soon but this is and somebody's at my [Music] door okay so it literally started the scheduled cleaning and I'm going to send it back and then we'll go ahead and uh we'll start it in a minute get back over there little guy waiting to charge and it says you hear it it says waiting to charge well I have it set to charge at in the middle of the night where the electricity is cheaper now whether that's a big deal or not I don't know that's how I have set though okay so let's go back over here right so we can see good here but I just took this off and you can see the bag in here man this thing is actually pretty full I'm probably going to have to change this now first I wasn't really happy with having a bag but to be honest with you this everything this whole area stays pretty clean and so I I really don't mind it too much but in order to change the bag you literally just pull this L I said let like make it sound look super easy but that's it right so it just pulls out like that and to install the new one just push it in oops you got to get it all the way in there so push it in like that and that's it right so so obviously you got to maintain that right you got to check on that every once in a while but uh so the water and then that okay and then now so let me go ahead and move this guy out so I have dogs so obviously I have dog ha and see this is a uh from me not cleaning it the last time but you can see where it's kind of grimy and I got some dog hair in there right so this I I absolutely love this piece when I was looking at other ones this piece does not come out on most of them so you have to clean inside there right so now every once in a while I will get a vacuum and I will vacuum in there but that's it this whole piece comes out so I can take this to the sink and rinse it out right so it does get kind of grimy as you can see but not a big deal so let me pause and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to wash this out okay so as you can see I mean I literally just rinse this off it cleans up really easy and just wipe it down I always put something down right here cuz I don't want obviously the vacuum and this nasty stuff right on my so I take a old towel put on my counter and this little piece like this is the little float that goes in there right so this just pops right out and I'll show how to just pop it right back in but I usually just wipe this stuff down you know this this whole process like I I spent 2 minutes in there and washing that out so goes this way so you can see there's a little Notch right here and there's a little tab right here and just kind of slides in there right Pops in there right so that part clean literally couple minutes 2 3 minutes obviously filming takes longer right so now let's pause I'm going to go get the vacuum and I'm going to show you a couple of things that you need to be aware of okay so here we are now we got the vacuum up here so I basically just went over there just took it off the stand you know and usually what I do is I just wipe the you know this down because of course like I said I got dog hair and dog hair gets everywhere it's annoying that's the main reason why I have this thing right but if you wanted to open the lid you could you can get in here see it says dust bin removed you can see it there it's empty because this thing literally empties itself out like it just does a good job installed right so there's almost no reason to even do that but if you wanted to you could you can clean it whatever maybe change the filter right but okay so this thing also has some sensors right so you need to normally when I do this and this this whole process takes me probably 10 minutes right so I just wipe down these little sensors right there's some underneath move the robot to a new location she's getting angry cuz I'm messing around with her right so there's these little sensors right here if you guys can see that right here right and then so you could also take this out if you really needed to and I'm going to show you what happens when you have a bunch of animals see but look at all that hair right super easy comes right out this was much more difficult process on my old one right same thing will it just pops right out and remove all that hair dog hair some of it's from the carpet or whatever else too can't blame everything on that right but it does a good uh it doesn't really tangle that bad like does a really good job to be honest with you but you know you could wipe this down in here here if you really wanted to you know you I usually do like a really really good cleaning like once a month right so normally I do about a 10 minute clean and then once a month I'll go a little bit deeper right so let's just pop that that literally just pops right back in all right there we go easy money right okay so now these are the washing disc now this is the part where if you're mopping I would say you maybe you don't have to do this maybe it's just me because of the water I don't know but I do use filtered water out of my refrigerator I don't use anything else for it sorry I'm just kind of pulling some of this hair off but uh so what I first noticed right away is these pads one was saturated and I could see it on the floor where it's like it looked like only one side was getting wet so I was like what the heck's going on well what happens is and these are magnetic which makes it awesome all right so this pops right out actually let me okay so as you can see so these come and velcro right off right so you can wash these in the washing machine if you wanted to right you can see they gather up some hair usually what I do is is uh once a month I vacuum and clean all this stuff really good and wash these really good right but for now you can just pop these off this you see all the nastiness is why you put a towel down but uh see the extra hair I just kind of pull them away and in here you can see there's some some Grime right some hair of course from the doggies right so I just wipe all this down location start okay so the most important part especially with the mopping that I found okay so right here let's get a closeup there's these little wheat poles now that one looks like I don't want to get too close I know you guys won't be able to see that but they look to be pretty open but but sometimes what I just got in the habit of just doing it once a week when I kind of just clean everything up just wipe everything down in that 10minute session so what I do is I take matter of fact hold on okay so what I take was this is a little key for my cameras my yui cameras right looks like something like a Sim ejector tool so it's kind of pointy right so what I do is I just stick it down in that little hole and I just kind of like clean it out in there just kind of rub it around and then if there's any Grime kind of like stuck in there it just kind of breaks it away right and so at first when I was having that issue I was like what's going on I was kind of mad and you know this and that but uh then I found that cuz those holes are tiny tiny tiny so I've been doing this basically every week this 10 minute session I have to clean this up refill it with water and uh that's basically extent of what I do so I clean those out I pop these back on right so then it's ready to go and that is literally about it you can pop this off that sometimes some hair will get stuck in there but uh that is literally all I do and besides that um the it is just uh it's pretty much automated right it just I mean it just goes on its own right so like I said one so about 4:00 every day it uh it you know it already has a map it already does it it does that the first time and then it kind of just builds around that if there's obstacles in the way it marks them out even with all this Christmas stuff it works perfect and I it's been only been since July so what maybe 5 months but in that 5 months I haven't really had any issues except for that we pole and then I solved it with this and uh so basically in the end you just have to know if you want something like this and you want it to run efficiently you there is going to be some maintenance and you you can probably and okay now she sounds like another somebody I know but uh where was I anyway so So you you're going to have some maintenance right you just you're going to you could even probably push it off to once every two weeks and and but I just do it Weekly right cuz it's I have it set to mop on Thursdays so usually on Wednesday or you know or sometime before Thursday after it did the cleaning the last week I will empty refill clean those little deals clean off this little deal here and I like I said 10 okay maybe I'm maybe 15 minutes you know it takes me 15 minutes but so imagine my floors like my floors are they're I mean they're clean right now you know and it hasn't even ran yet but and cuz I have dogs and that's the biggest thing right and my dogs have a doggy door and they have access in and out of my house right and I got big I got Rottweiler I got a bordy and then I got the some of this and some of that dog over there right but so so there's always traffic coming and out plus I have family that comes over and you know I may not be the cleanest cleanest person but my wife keeps a pretty tidy house you know I'm not going to lie and I like the house to be pretty tidy myself I definitely like the floors to be clean you know walking barefoot I don't you know you feel gri on your floor whatever I hate that that is like one of the most annoying things to me I just I hate that feeling right so this thing it basically just mutes all that now my house is only about 2,000 ft so it's not the biggest house but I have um hard floors in everything pretty much except for the bedrooms right so that little vacuum comes through here comes through you know be show my bedroom my wife will get mad but it comes through comes all the way through my to my bathroom and you know so I have it basically cleans all of that the only thing it doesn't clean is the uh the carpet right because I just have my boy Clean vacuum the house rest of the house uh the rest of the time right so I am extremely happy with my purchase I think I paid I got it on sale for $6.99 absolutely in my opinion worth it it just makes life so much easier so much easier and then the ability to just you know uh tell Alexa to start it or you know just go on the app and hit like a maybe I want to clear clean like one room or whatever matter of fact I'm going to record some on the app of uh what we can do with it and then we'll probably that's probably how we'll finish this video but anyways that's uh let's finish this part let's get to there okay so I don't want to go all in the death but here's the robo Rock app here and you can see robo Rock Q Revo 100% fully charged is telling me so like I said I don't want to go crazy on this you know cuz there's a bunch of videos I'm sure um that do this you can tell up at the top it even gives you like little warnings and stuff uh so usually you could just reset those when you're done uh let me see what is this saying here well let's go ahead and enter okay so once you get in this is my house right here that's already mapped and you can see some little red boxes here where I basically the robot is told not to go there right and so normally I have it just do all of these like basically the the pink or Peach there green at the bottom blue at the bottom yellow at the bottom blue over here top right I guess I can touch it so this blue here yellow here green here blue here this hallway obviously goes all the way down to there now I don't let it do the master bedroom all the time because it doesn't really need it so I kind of just manually do that right so that's basically it right so over here on the right hand side you can see over here this is where you can set vacuum or mop right so every day I have it it basically is set to just vacuum so if I click that probably could even hear that that's saying that it's set to the vacuum mode right so if we lower this down you can see over here on the right now it just has the vacuum so if we go back in here we click vac vacuum mop now it has both right so we're going to go back to vacuum and then you can do it you have full right here rooms or zones right I don't really mess with the zones but I do I do the either the full or the rooms right so if I hit rooms it kind of highlights and you can see like this room here obviously it's not going to go in there so I want to do that one but we can do this part here here here and here right so it's going to do all this little area right here when it vacuums and that's normally what I have at vacuum on a daily basis right so obviously you can do other things like if you hit the dock you know you can say I want you to wash it right here or I want you to dry it or empty the bin I could even hit empty right now so let's go ahead and do it and you can hear it in the background see it says empty will make make a lot of noise let's do it so now it's say Obviously doesn't have any trash in there but now it's emptying it right so let's let it run its course I guess I could even hit stop right here okay so now it's back in like standby mode right so I still have all those rooms checked so um let me see is there anything else I need to really go through that I mean that's really about it you know um like I said this little thing navigates all through this house I don't know how I honestly don't know how it does it but uh I guess that is about it if I mean obviously if you have any questions um any comments or anything like that put them down in the description now like I said this is just a quick summary of this little app there's all kinds of other stuff you can go in there and you can check this box and do that assign different times and and all this kind of nonsense but right now let's switch it back to vacuum right let's go to Rooms I already have all of those and I'm going go ahead and hit down here I'm going to hit clean so let's go ahead I'm getting a call I don't even know who that is all right so now it's going to start cleaning so let's go so let's see there it goes right so now another thing too is this thing normally if you do have any type of carpet which I do have some over there I have it set to to vacuum the carpet first right which you don't have to do it that way but I only have these couple of little carpets and so it goes over there and it Vacuums in first right that's exactly where it's heading I mean it's literally got this routine down right oh oh it's kind of like picking up the carpet a little bit oh it's fine see but that's like you can see the curtains right there you know kind of in the way a little bit but it kind of just navigates around does it very seldom does it matter of fact I can't even recall it ever getting stuck to where it like it just was stuck right it seems to always figure out its way out so you know it's like said it just kind of navigates around these these curtains right here you know anyways I don't want to take too much of my time of course the dogs in there like I hate the vacuum so anyways let's go ahead and finish this video that is the Q Robo Rock Q Revo and this will be actually the F Monon update pretty close to 6 months what's call it 6mon update and so far the thing's been running perfect no issues I absolutely love it and my wife loves it and uh it keeps especially with the dogs and I actually have three dogs and a cat and with all of them with the hair and everything it just is a
