hello everyone and welcome to the one-stop co-op shop this is colin and today we are going to do a playthrough of robinson caruso adventures on the cursed island now i was going to play this with a couple friends over the weekend and it got cancelled and i had it all set up and i went hey why don't i do a play through it's been too long i'm actually gonna do because it's all set up already the intro scenario castaways so this one should be one that we might be able to win i don't think i've won one yet on the channel uh and i'm still not gonna guarantee we're gonna win this one but hopefully we'll get close now don't forget it has been a bit since i've played so if i do make any rule errors and i miss it in editing i will put uh klingon subtitles to show those so make sure to turn those klingon subtitles now so you see those i'm also not going to do a full setup video i'll actually put a link in the description below for some of the other setup videos for the other plays of this game and you can look at those if you want to set them up we're just going to jump right in let's read our scenario and start our playthrough i am playing with all four characters that's the way i like to play solo i feel like it gives me the most options and the most fun you are a castaway on a deserted island it is the end of summer you should prepare for winter build a shelter a roof and a palisade it will be difficult to survive during the tough months of autumn and winter you also have to build a pile of wood so you can light it on fire when you spot a ship on the horizon to call for help our goal for this scenario you need to build the fire item and a wood pile you'll see the box in a second by the 10th 11th or 12th round to be spotted by a ship if you have both of these done you win the game down here is our wood pile tracker you can see we have numbers from one all the way up to five and different sets of them so the wood pile requires 15 wood markers to complete you can only put wood on the pile before the action phase of each round with the exception of the mast and the oil actual item when you build it we'll talk about that as we play the pile must be completed in stages from left to right so i can't drop five wood here first and then one here second i gotta go one then two then three then fourth and five the wood that you use for this pile cannot be taken back and used for other actions so once we put it into that wood pile we have to leave it there slightly on thematic because you technically could take it out but we're just going to say once you put them here you can't take them off this scenario can last a total of 12 rounds remember if we have that wood pile built and fire by the 10th round we can even win the game at the end of the 10th round we got the 10th 11th and 12th we start rolling all three of the terrible weather dice in round seven you can see here we've got the orange die in four five and six and remember it's going to take us a minimum of five rounds to get our wood completed so one two three four five i really want to be able to start doing that by around six at the latest we have our scenario specific discovery tokens as we reveal them we'll take a look at them because this is the intro scenario i love this the books and the totems don't do anything so we don't have to worry about them and then there's two specific items that we can build in this scenario a hatchet and the mast itself you start the game with two random items we have the pipe and tobacco which will give us two determination two different times and the empty bottle which will give us plus one to our fight two different times we have the nine items you always start with you can see that symbol that denotes the nine that we can we always start with with every scenario and then our five random ones we've got a furnace drums bow wall and pit currently the only one we can build is the shovel because we will start on the shoreline we start with no camp so we'll have our token face down once we build our camp we'll flip this face up we're going to want to do that as soon as we can because we're playing with four characters we need to spend four wood or three fur to be able to do that our palisade starts at zero and actually that's our roof our roof starts at zero and our palisade starts at zero and you can't have a roof or a palisade when you don't even have an actual camp we have our event deck set up we have 12 total event cards six of them have the book symbol and six of them have the question mark symbols randomly chosen we have our starting tile and where we are currently located the event that is recommended to start with is food crates here we can send workers here to potentially get some food during the action phase because we're playing with four players we have to cover up this making camp spot with the either gaining two determination or increasing morale instead of doing both when you go here with a worker uh just because we have so many more workers at four players finally we have to determine who our starting player will be i'm going to use this d12 don't ask why i'm just going to we're going to have the cook be our first player and don't forget that all of us have our own specific invention that if we build we actually gain two determination but only we can build it we're now all set up and ready to go let's start our playthrough with our first round for your first round you'll always ignore the event phase we'll jump right to the morale phase now since this is the first round we can also ignore the morale phase because we start at zero morale so we don't increase or gain or lose determination but generally that's what we do at this point we're going to move right to the production phase we're going to look at the tile that we have our camp token and we're going to see how much we produce we'll produce one wood and one food you can see that's on the tile itself that's we've just gained both this food and this wood will be available to us right away and we can use it this turn after the production phase we'll move to the action phase we'll all place out our two workers in the locations that we want and then we'll resolve them and then move to the weather phase each character in the game has two workers you can use those two workers for two different actions or you can use them for the same action if i use them for the same action and it was for something like this exploring it guarantees the action it means that we spent our time and we did them successfully if we do this we have to roll dice and see if we succeed because we only explored for half the time here and half the time here and so you may fail you may have an adventure you may get hurt so spreading workers makes uh you able to do more but then you're more likely to have issues that you have to deal with later being that we're at the start of the game i like to be a little more risky to get more things revealed and it gives us more options so i'm going to have our explorer who loves exploring explore these two spots and our cook begrudgingly we'll explore this spot our threat card here can be resolved with either one worker or two workers if we do with one worker we gain one perishable food perishable food has to be used in the current round or it gets discarded if we spend two workers though we can get one perishable and one non-perishable food so this will actually get us two but we had to spend two workers so our engineer is going to spend some time picking up those food crates and our soldier is also going to do that our engineer here will also try and build our shovel once we get our shovel built we can do a lot of the other uh inventions that we have in mind so getting it done doesn't give us an immediate benefit but allows us to build something like the pit which would be very helpful finally the cook and the soldier are going to move back to the camp and they are going to push up our morale or gain some determination we've placed out all of our workers and the best part about this game is you just resolve things from left to right over here and it'll tell you which things you do first so we're going to resolve the food crates or i should say expedition for food first we'll remove both of these workers and we gain one perishable food and one non-perishable food and we'll discard this card we'll put this food in the future resources spot at the end of the action phase we'll slide this down here this just means that we can't use this food for other actions we're taking during this action phase because technically all of these things are happening at the same time we're just resolving them one at the time to make it easier to resolve but technically it's all happening during the same day next we'll resolve any build actions then we do gather actions but we aren't gathering anything and then we would do exploration so because we're doing a build action and we are only using one worker we have to roll all three dice to see if we succeed a y means that we did if it's not a y and it's this symbol we fail at building whatever it is and instead gain two determination this question mark means that we would have an adventure and ninety percent of the adventures are bad so we don't really want that and then the final one is a wound symbol if we roll it we take a wound building a shovel we prick our finger something like that can our engineer figure out how to build a shovel uh the que the answer is yes but we'll also have an adventure and take a wound this will be our carpenter's first wound we're doing okay if ever you get to hear on any of your players that's how you immediately lose one of the ways if ever you cross over one of these thresholds you actually hit your morale down for our whole team right now our morale is at zero so if we go over this it'd be pushed to minus one that means whoever the first player is at the beginning of the day will lose one determination and for every determination that you can't discard you take a wound instead so it can snowball quick many time these adventure cards have a top and a bottom effect the top effect happens when you draw them the bottom effect happens if you shuffle the card into the event deck this one is in a hurry you get careless in your haste decide discard this card so then we wouldn't get the effect or draw two and those are exploration tokens which can be super helpful or discovery tokens but then shuffle this into the event deck definitely going to shuffle this into the event deck and let's look at two discovery tokens the two that we found were the nourishing larva and the goat now the nourishing larva after this action phase we're going to immediately convert this into two-up perishable food and we have to use that food this round or it gets discarded the goat we can leave around and as long as we have a weapon level of one which of course we have zero we would butcher that goat and we can turn it into a pelt and a piece of food but the nice part about this one is we can choose when to do it so we've got a goat hanging around with us once again both of these discoveries go into the future resources area finally we did successfully build that shovel so we're going to flip this over and now anything with a shovel symbol we can do for example this pit we now only need to spend one wood and then we'd use that shovel and then we can have this effect that during the production phase we'd roll a die and if we roll that wound symbol we actually gain plus two food because an animal would have fallen into the pit cool now for exploration let's start with a cook let's see if we can explore successfully here we'll roll the three exploration dice and we failed and took a wound so the cook like i said didn't want to go exploring so he kind of went out there and went i don't see anything but he does get to determination and a wound if this is the first time you're seeing this game played first of all you need to change that watch some more playthroughs because this game is awesome and play it yourself second of all this determination is how you activate your special abilities so you can see here now with two determination we can discard two of those to heal two damage by eating one food which is awesome or discard two here to re-roll any gray dye or we can discard three to get one food because we make some stone soup and finally we could discard three to cancel out one rain cloud or turn a snow cloud into a rain cloud let's hope our explorer has a better time with this let's explore this location first she likes exploring so let's hope that that resolves in successful dice rolls so that's a yes but we do have a wound and an adventure we'll take the one wound as much as our explorer loves adventuring she has a misadventure unexpectedly you have fallen into a burrow did we make that put one of these wound tokens on your character's leg and shuffle it into the event deck you know that's not going to be a good one to draw we've placed that token here on our explorer's leg that way when that event reveals itself which hopefully it doesn't but if it does we know which character it relates to two out of the three things were bad there but the one good thing is we did successfully find a new location oh we have a mountainous region this region is plentiful in food it's a mountainous region we have found a beast in that region so i'm going to take this beast card face down i don't get to see what it is and put it into the hunting area we can try and hunt that beast for food for whatever it entails uh in a future round we do get one of the discovery tokens so let's grab this one and this one is plus one to our palisade which is cool but we're going to want to hold on to that until we actually have a camp and then that totem means nothing in this scenario oh that symbol that's a cave if we decide to move to this location during the end of the round although we don't have a camp we can hide in that cave and it would prevent us from taking wounds from sleeping outside the only negative though of moving our camp here is when we produce we won't produce any wood we'll just produce one food it's great that we found the mountains so early because now we can also build the fire that we need in order to win this scenario you can see up here we have the mountainous region so you need to have that uh type of region revealed before you can build that specific item so now we can build the fire and the knife we'll do our final exploration with our adventure and we have everything yet again this means our explorer will take another wound while we were exploring we found a secret cave deep in the bushes you find a mysterious cave discard this card or draw three mystery cards only resolve one monster or one trap and up to two treasures and shuffle this card into the event deck you know we're drawing from the mystery deck here is our first mystery card and we have our one monster great a savage jumps out of the darkness he knocks you down and takes your weapon reduce your weapon to zero well it is zero yes shuffle into the event deck oh boy i don't want to read what that says so i'll shuffle that into the event deck that's our first one now we can have a trap or treasures if it's a monster we'll just discard it and keep dry okay we have a backpack you find an old backpack filled with hope you look inside and unfortunately it's empty well it's still hopeful keep this card starting next round when a player takes an explore action they additionally draw two of those discovery tokens uh choose one and discard the other oh that's that's actually awesome that's a good one and then our last one we have a saber a lonely skeleton lying in the corner holds a saber in his bony hands heavy magnificent famous the saber of captain black florian keep this card each time a player fights a beast they can use it to temporarily get plus three to their weapons attack when you use the saber you get one damage ouch events adventures or beast cards that decrease the weapon do not lower the value of the saber well that's kind of cool i've already lost count how many different event cards we have in our deck oh boy let's draw our next one and this is also mountainous oh but this location does have food and wood we get one of these discovery tokens and this one gives us some wood it's a fallen tree sadly though i was hoping for a different terrain type but it'll be what it'll be we've completed our building and are exploring finally we'll do our making camp each of us will increase morale by one we could gain two determination but the morale helps everyone we'll move from zero for morale to two we've completed the action phase we'll now convert this to wood we will convert the larva to two food the rest of these can slide down and now we'll move to the weather phase the weather is going to get nasty but in the first round we have no weather effects and we have nothing that affected our weather sometimes events will cause weather to be worse or better so we can just ignore this no issues then we move to the night face players can move their camp if they want to an adjacent tile in many scenarios i would jump to this tile purely because then we'd be in a camp and it would protect us from some wounds but wood is so important and i need to build a camp as soon as possible i think i'm going to stay on this tile we're going to stay on the beach then each player must discard one of food or they take two wounds there are four characters so that means we need to eat for food we have all four here so that means no one takes wounds for that unfortunately though we do not have the shelter so each player is going to gain one wound for sleeping out in the cold that will be the second wound for our cook and the third wound for our explorer the carpenter will be his second wound and our soldiers first wound finally to end that first round we have to discard all remaining perishable food and keep any of the non-perishable i have one non-perishable food and that's it so i'm going to keep it remember that goat i stole the goat around i haven't butchered it yet this will end round one let's move to round two we'll move to the event phase drawing the top card although a lot of people recommend doing the bottom card so you don't know what it is so that's what we're going to do is the bottom card from the event deck and then we have to resolve it based on what we see but before that i do need to remember to move my first player over to the explorer so it's going to go cook explore carpenter soldier i'm quite happy i'm choosing from the bottom because i don't want to deal with whatever this is that's on top okay the bottom is a normal event we have a bear a bear finds her camp and destroys it that's great now that book symbol normally would do something but in this scenario it doesn't do anything so we don't have to worry about it we have to put a token in the arrange camp action space i love that space during the next time that you do that action you just discard that token instead of getting the benefit of that action space and then we can place a worker here and since we have the shovel we can repair it whoever does that will discard this card and then gain one determination we'll place that token right here moving to the morale phase we'll have our explorer gain to determination because overall our morale is pretty good as a team next is the production step and we'll gain one food and one wood based upon the tile that our camp is on we now have three wood two food a goat and what is this even called thorn bushes to help with our palisade once we actually have a shelter we've completed the production step let's move to the action phase during our action phase our cook is going to do what he does best and that is gather but instead of gathering food we're going to have him gather wood he's covering up the wood resource you have to show which resource you're trying to gather he could technically gather on that tile twice one for food and one for wood but i'm looking for wood our explorer is going to try and do what our our cook couldn't and explore this location we'll have our soldier use one of her tokens here to repair the campsite so she can gain some determination and also get rid of this threat card she's also going to lead the expedition with the cook supporting her so you always have to choose which one is supporting and which one is active if you're doing a hunt with two different workers one has to be the one that's going to take the wounds the other one's there just to support because you always have to use two workers when you go hunt so the soldier's going to lead the hunt on whatever this beast is the cook is going to support her our carpenter is going to try and build the camp now technically we need four wood but we only have three however i have a way to get around that with his abilities so we'll show that to you shortly he's also going to try and build the knife which will give us plus one to our weapon value finally our explorer is going to go to the making camp section just to get rid of this black token all right let's resolve them starting with the threat phase this is nice and easy we'll just discard this and our soldier will gain her first determination token we're then going to go hunting let's see what we get hopefully it's not anything terrible and we have a wild pig okay we need a weapon value of three if we don't we take wounds for the difference then we have to reduce our weapon level by one and it's at zero and every time you cannot reduce it by the amount that's there you take wounds for the difference and then you gain three food and one fur so whenever you do combat in this game with animals you always succeed this just determines how many wounds you take in the process so what we can do is a couple things the first thing we'll do is use our empty bottle here to increase our weapon value by one i'll move this up one space then our soldier will use this saber gaining plus three to her attack so her attack is plus four to the three that we have here we're good we're not going to take any wounds from that however we don't really know how to use a saber right we're castaways so we kind of used it and we kind of hurt ourselves we're going to take a wound from this card because we used it that will be our second wound this means we resolved the attack section of the wild pig we had a 3 or higher so we are good to go we then have to reduce our weapon value by one that's why i increased it by one because then we'll reduce it so we don't take damage for that then we'll gain three beautiful food but we can only use that for this round because it's perishable and one fur we'll place all of those resources up here and we'll decrease this by one then we will discard the wild pig we will no longer be able to hunt that pig we need to find some more beasts before we can do that the next actions we can take are build actions we have to build actions here let's start with this one the first thing we're going to do is spend this token to gain to determination our uh carpenter is smoking some pipe and tobacco feeling relaxed he's ready now to build our campsite because he now has these two determination tokens he can use the economical construction discard two of these determination tokens and spend one fewer wood during an action of any type yes we need to first see if he is successful though and he is with no wounds and no adventures that's ridiculous that means he's consumed these three pieces of wood but now our token will flip from the unsheltered side to the sheltered side and we will not take wounds for sleeping every night he will though of course have to discard the two determination tokens in order to do that okay now let's try and build that knife can we have the same role we had last time yes we can that's successful with no adventure and no wounds i will fully admit that does not normally happen that way so i'm gonna flip this over we'll now gain a plus one to our weapon at the end of this round i'm gonna put this in the uh future resources so i remember to increase it at that point our cook will be next trying to gather some wood these are usually the nicest ones we have a yes and a question mark so we're gonna go on an adventure but we did get some wood unfortunately we have found a shortage it looks like it's the last time you'll be here take one additional resource of the type you are gathering so we'll grab two wood instead of one and cover its source with a token to indicate that it's exhausted to wood is quite nice but unfortunately we now no longer can gather wood from that tile our explorer will go next trying to find a new tile and we have a yes but we do have an adventure we have carcass you found a dead goat but you don't know why it's dead decide discard this card or get two food and two fur and then shuffle this into the event deck so if i was just looking at the two food we already have enough perishable food for this route so i'm gonna lose it i'm not gonna be able to use it but two more fur means we'll have three in total and we can use that to build a roof so i think i'm gonna go for it and shuffle this into the event deck look at all of those wonderful resources i love it the only thing i don't love is all of that perishable food we're not going to be able to use we'll grab a new tile and place it here and we have some hills and we this location has both food and wood which is nice totem which means nothing and one discovery token and this one is some large leaves that we can use to cancel rain in the future rounds and don't forget because we have our backpack we can look at two more of these keep one and discard the other so we either have an old machete or a treasure treasure could be anything an old machete would help our weapon what do we want treasure treasure let's go treasure we also now can build the bricks the pot and the drums and the drums look awesome it costs us a fur but we gain plus two morale or uh determination during the morale phase which would be so awesome our final action our explorer will simply get rid of this black token here and we've cleaned up from that bear this completes the action phase we'll move all of these resources down the only thing we need to adjust is the knife will increase our weapon to one and we'll flip it over here so we can't build it again we can skip over the weather phase still no weather that we need to deal with that's only going to be for one more round after this and we'll move to the night face and we're definitely going to move our camp to this tile now if we move our camp both our roof and palisade have to be reduced by half rounded down so if i had a roof value of two it'd go down to one but if i have a roof value of one and we move it stays at one so i'm definitely moving here because we'll still make one wood and one food before we finish the night phase i am going to have our cook discard two of his determination to eat one food and heal by two might as well because i'd lose it anyways it cost us two determination but i felt like it was worth it next each of our characters need to eat one food i've got four here and we have one extra one that's simply going to be discarded finally we're lucky enough we now have a shelter no one takes wounds for that either so we're gonna end round two and move to round three we still have no issues with weather for this round but that will be the last round for that then we'll start rolling the orange weather die for rounds four five and six and i really need to start doing that wood starting by round six our first player token will move over to the carpenter for this round going into that event phase we'll draw the bottom event card okay it's a regular one and we have fire late at night a fire started in the woods we have a green question mark that means we need to put this onto our adventure or our exploration deck the next time someone explores without a doubt no matter what even if they don't roll dice they have to have an adventure that's what that means during the production phase of this round you get no wood really that's just mean in the moral phase since our carpenter is first player he will gain two determination tokens that's his first two then we have our production step and we just gain a one whopping food and that's it we're going to go back to that action phase after reviewing a bit of what i want to do the first thing i want to do is slaughter that goat for one food and one fur so we're going to remove this then i'm also going to discard this and gain a treasure we'll draw from our deck until we find a treasure that's unlucky incident that is a gorilla don't have to worry about a gorilla we have blankets keep this card each use allows you to ignore one of the snow clouds during the weather phase discard when all three blankets have been used whoa that could be super helpful we're gonna have our explorer go out searching here as well as trying to collect some food our soldier is going to guarantee by using both of her workers to build the roof i don't want to roll for her i want it to be an auto success we're going to have the cook since he has no damage right now he's going to try and build the fire and he's going to try and build the drums and we can do that because we grabbed or we slaughtered that goat so we have the one fur that we need finally our carpenter is going to guarantee build the hatchet this is going to give us this on our camp space every round we gain plus one would that's why i felt like it was worth it we normally would have to spend one wood and there has to be mountains out which we have but we're going to spend that two determination tokens to reduce the cost of building this by one wood so we're not spending any wood somehow we make a hatchet maybe out of our imagination because we have no threat resolutions or beasts to hunt we can start right with the building of phase so let's remove our two workers here remove these two determination tokens and we'll put this in the future resources spot we've just built the hatchet and i'm sorry you guys i should have done this before the action phase i am going to spend one wood so i can start my wood pile so that was one of the wood that we had we placed it here in our wood pile now we'll have the soldier activate doing our auto build of our roof it is now at level one i really want the drums to be successful here so i think i'm going to have the cook try this one first followed by the drums second so we're going to try and build the fire this will give us plus one to our palisade and actually we need this for the scenario but i can always try it again later rolling three dice and we have a failure we take a wound but we do gain two determination tokens our cook apparently is not a very handy individual but he does have to determination now we're going to try for the drums now if i fail with the drums we do put that fur back in our resource area so we don't lose the fur if we fail at building the drums come on cook you can do it you can do it there's a success but we do have an adventure and another wound we'll take that one wound our event is laborious work the work is very hard and takes a lot of time put a minus one uh worker on the building action space that means the next time we do a build action we have to spend two workers and we're still gonna have to roll dice for the next build action that we do we've placed that token on here to remind ourselves of that at least though we built the drums that is going to be a super awesome during the morale phase plus two determination starting next round now our explorer is going to try and gather some food and that's a yes with no adventure no wounds this will mean we have just enough food for the round okay our final thing will be to explore that new location we have to have an adventure here so i'm just gonna roll the two dice we succeed with no wound we have it's going to rain dark rainy clouds are gathering above the island shuffle into the event deck if you've watched survivor you know that we're going to deal with some bad rain at some point and we have another hills location gosh i'm hoping for something not hills we do have a beast though and another location for woods uh for some wood plus two more discovery tokens so this one oh it's another goat and this one another treasure we also have our backpack here so we have two more discoveries we get to keep one okay that one gives us plus one health we can heal someone by one and this one gives us a one time of uh benefit to have an additional worker specifically to building so can help us guarantee a build and as much as i like health i like building better so we're going to grab this one that will end the action phase we'll move all of this down we have a very hilly and mountainous region because that's all i'm seeing for different locations on here this will be the last round we can skip the weather phase do we want to move camp and i'm going to say yes i know it means we're not going to get wood during our or i should say i'm going to go here so i'm not going to get any food i can still get wood and the hatchet brings this plus one so now we'll gain a plus 2 wood during the production phase which i like but we're not going to gain any food during the production phase this does though allow me to explore in these locations with less workers and hopefully we can find some of those other terrain types don't forget because my roof level was level one moving my camp was okay we would reduce it by half rounded down well that's zero so we'll still leave it at one if i had it at two it'd go down to one we now need to eat food we've got one two we're going to eat our non-perishable that's all four of these yeah i think that's good and we are in we have our shelter so we're good for this round we'll now move to round up four and now during the weather phase we're rolling this die hopefully you don't roll that hopefully we just roll that which is one rain symbol and as long as we have our roof level at level one we'll be okay first player we'll move over to our soldier we'll draw our next event card from the bottom oh we have one of our event cards just when we start getting rain we're gonna get some heavy rain it looks like it's gonna rain the whole day put a rain token on the weather space and then draw another card so yeah whenever you draw these it doesn't stop you from drawing a regular event so i could keep drawing these cards it's going to keep telling us to draw another card until we get to the regular event cards we'll place this right here and then also to remind ourselves we have to roll that die i'm going to place it here as well we'll try drawing again and this time we do have a regular event well i can't complain we have the sunny beach it's a beautiful morning and you wake up in a great mood you slept well except for that we know the rain is coming we also have to place this uh token back on the exploration deck so the next time we explore we have to draw a card there's actually no effect that's ridiculous but we have to spend two workers here to get rid of this or if we don't each player will have to discard a determination token when this card gets pushed off speaking of which i have to resolve this one otherwise during the production phase of this round you get no wood i cannot handle that so i have to get rid of this one this next round for the morale phase we'll gain two determination tokens for the soldier she already has one so she now has three determination tokens during the production phase we'll gain two wood one from here and one from the hatchet before we move into that action step let's use our treasure token here to draw another treasure we'll draw from our mystery deck and we have a bottle of wine which is thematic because we have a broken bottle we must have found a new one keep this card you can use it once to heal two damage divided however you choose among the characters oh do i want to just use it now i think i'm going to i'm just going to use this now to heal too from our explorer this will mean we can be a little bit riskier with her she's got a nice area here before she actually hits morale i've been doing pretty well with the wounds overall i almost forgot the drums that i just built the last turn so that means our soldier gained two more determination tokens that means she has one two three four five she's going to use two right now to be able to increase either the palisade or weapon by one we're gonna do our weapon by one that's an immediate effect so we'll move it right to two because we healed up our explorer we're going to explore two different locations with her our cook is going to handle extinguishing that fire our soldier is going to hunt that beast our carpenter along with this additional worker which is considered candles i guess so that would be two workers here going to try and build the roof making it a little higher but because of this minus one worker we're still going to have to roll that means then we can just place one here in for the fire for our cook finally our carpenter is going to just rest trying to heal some let's then start with our threats we will be able to discard this one and gain one determination token for our cook he now has three our soldier then will be fighting let's see what beast this is oh a gorilla oh this is a six minus three and a five after this fight though you get one discovery token and two fur okay a six we're currently at a two we'll use our second empty bottle here to make it three i'll increase this to a three and then just because i don't wanna forget we're gonna have to reduce it by three because of that gorilla's attack and because this is a gorilla let's use this frenzy ability discard the other three determination tokens to get a temporary increase of plus three to our weapon three plus three is six that means we take no wounds at all five food is great one two three four five and two a fur is also awesome and then we gain one of these discovery tokens what's that one what do you know that's a pirate saber we can discard that for plus one to our weapon value so we found a pirate saber maybe buried inside the gorilla who knows we'll then do our build action starting with our carpenter we're gonna have to still roll and we get for this roll everything a success but we have an adventure and a wound maybe the adventure won't be terrible i'm not holding my breath howling in the bushes while working you hear some scary howling coming from the bushes after a while the predator goes away but we're gonna have to deal with that later in order for us to build that roof we will have to spend two more determination tokens so we used our pipe and tobacco and we built this with only three wood instead of four our roof is now a level two our cook now is getting into the building action and we have a failure he cannot build a fire and an adventure but that's two more of our determination tokens he now has five we unfortunately have dangerous work without a good workshop work is very dangerous that's true especially for the cook apparently we have to put a re-roll on a success and the question mark on the build action so the next time we build we have to have an adventure and we have to reroll the next success that we get this also means that fire is still not built we'll get there eventually hopefully we have two more explorations we can do let's start with this one because we have this on the deck i'm not even going to roll that die we have to have an adventure here rolling our two dice we do have a success and no wounds our explorer seems to find all the weather events during your walk you feel a cold winter wind blowing on your back shuffle this into the event deck we can however reveal this next tile and we do have a rivers with three more of these tokens okay we can if we build the pot we can get the cure if we have the pot we can heal to damage and what is that one that is oil it can give us two wood but it's only for the wood pile we also can place a beast in the hunting deck we have another role that we can do let's see we do have an adventure and we succeed well it's certainly hard for me to be unhappy about this a surprising discovery you found another skeleton in the jungle and it's holding a pistol keep this card you can use it once it temporarily gives you plus three attack discard after use the tile that we find here is planes with three more of these tokens so we found some wood we found some food we have way too much food and if we have the pot we can increase our morale by one wow we need to build a pot we also of course have that backpack so we can grab two of these and we get to keep one and discard the other definitely going to keep the candles our morale is actually great right now i believe we now have all the terrain types so we can build any of these items now which is so awesome i almost forgot our carpenter here he's going to heal one damage trying to keep our morale up as best we can we'll then slide all of this forward and i've got to see which ones this one can turn into one piece of wood i think these we can hold on to i think there's one more yeah we need two more food unfortunately for that one which are likely gonna go wasted the one thing i think we are going to do is take these bushes discard them and increase our palisade by one just in case because you never know we're now going to move into the weather phase we have one auto rain cloud let's roll this die for the other we'll give our die a roll and we have one rain cloud that gives us a total of two rain clouds fortunately for us our roof level is two so those rain clouds of two is no problem whatsoever i am then going to discard this token we dealt with that rain like a boss let's say i had rolled three total clouds for every cloud that we have over our roof level we lose one food and one wood to keep warm and remember for any of those that we can't pay we all take wounds instead weather can be terrible then we have to pay for our food one two three and four i'd love for our cook to create the fireplace to help people out we can heal wounds with that but not going to be helpful when i can't actually build a fire we're going to spend two determination though to eat one of these food the food left over to heal by two so we're totally healed up and then we have to discard the two extra food that we had useless bummer this means we'll now move to round five our first player token will move over to the cook our event phase for round five we will have one of our adventure cards oh boy we're gonna have some diarrhea the goat died because it was sick and now you're sick too each player takes a wound then draw the next card our explorer will move to two wounds our cook will move to one wound our soldier will move to three wounds and the carpenter will move to three wounds we'll draw the next event card from the bottom oh man another bad one you find a dead body of a savage your weapon is broken but he holds something valuable another dead body draw one mystery card resolve only a treasure then draw another card let's see what we find we have gremlins we don't have to do that one we have a big ape but we already took out a gorilla so who needs that we have a helmet you have found a rusty and damaged but still usable conquistador helmet keep this card starting next round each time a player fights a beast they can ignore one wound cool that one was actually good i'll take it okay our next one actually is an event well you know how we dealt with rain the last round how about a thunderstorm now lightning hits a tree and starts a fire we've just been dealing with fire and rain we're gonna place this on the gather actions the next time we gather we have to have an adventure they'll close this and that includes the camp tile a wood resource is exhausted that means our hatchet won't work either if we didn't have one of those that was next to us then we'd actually take a wound we can spend one worker here and have the shovel to uncover the exhausted action and discard this card this means though instead of gaining two wood during the production phase we gain zero our cook however will gain two plus two a total of four determination tokens he had three from before so he has seven determination tokens we're then going to discard this oil to place two wood onto the wood pile we have to do that before the action phase so that's done now we just need to do three four and five our soldier will go gathering for some wood this round our cook is looking to subdue the fire yet again even though he can't build the fire for whatever reason we're going to have our explorer do our hunting this time our cook has to keep trying the fire i'm just making them do it our carpenter will try and build the rope and we'll guarantee the pot because we get lots of good benefits now if we have the pot built and finally because our soldier is somewhat wounded we're gonna have her rest to heal one we'll start with our threat here our cook will be able to unexhaust this location so now we can get wood back here and he gets an eighth determination token he's got way too many our explorer has hunted and found some goats only three food that's not gonna be enough food we need a fight value of four currently we have a fight value of zero what am i saying the cook will be able to make some stone soup will be okay we have our pistol here so we're going to use this as a plus three we have to discard it though so that gives us three and then we'll use the saber taking one wound but that means we have more than enough fight to take out the goat we would normally take one wound from the saber and then one because we can't reduce the weapon value by one but will reduce that total wounds that we would get which would normally be two by one because of the helmet and it's pretty awesome that she's actually wearing a helmet in this picture we'll then get three perishable food and one fur moving to building we're gonna try and have our cook build to fire since we're starting with him he won't even roll the question mark die he's just gonna have an adventure we'll roll the two dice he has a success but we have this re-roll a success symbol token that we need to roll and he still gets a success he built the fire he'll take a wound for it but totally worth it his event is fast work discard this card or take one more building action but he has to roll three dice and then shuffle this into the deck i'm actually feeling okay i don't i don't want to put this in the deck i don't want something really bad happening so i'm just going to discard this card building the fire will increase the palisade by one and now that means he can do his own personal upgrade which is the fireplace so we might do that next time we'll increase the palisade to two our carpenter will guarantee build this one using the candles as the second action or worker token so that we have a pot now once per night phase we can spend one food to heal one damage finally we're gonna try and build this rope let's see how our carpenter can do he succeeds has an adventure and a wound he is now one health away from hitting our morale he drew a hard work you're working so hard that you get hungry if possible discard one food this is where having the future resources is super important we don't have any food resources in our current resource area so although he was hungry couldn't eat anything there was nothing there and it says if possible so that means we don't take a wound for the difference if it said discard one food and we didn't have one here we'd simply take a wound we now have the rope built which is great because that will allow us to build a snare and we can do the mast for some wood our soldier will gather some wood she's only going to roll two dice because she has to have an adventure she gets a wound and she succeeds we're also now one away from hitting our morale and we have yet another event you see a storm coming towards the island shuffle into the event deck we were at least successful in gaining some more wood though and we'll place that here in the future resources area finally our soldier will heal that wound right up we're trying to keep the wounds down but sooner or later that's not going to happen anymore that was the action phase let's roll for the weather phase and we have two rain clouds we're still okay our roof is at level two we then need to eat four food we have one two three food here and for every food we can't eat someone has to take two wounds but let's be honest our cook here can spend three determination tokens no problem to get one food to make stone soup and eat that up no problem so we're all good that means then at the start of our next round our first player will be the explorer this will be round six last round that we're only rolling the orange die then we're going to be rolling the orange white and red die going forward during the event phase we'll draw from the bottom of the deck we have an adventure card in the morning it starts to snow it will be a cold night put a snow token in the weather space draw another card looks like we're starting to get ready for winter hopefully this will be the final event card we have to draw no it's our gather card this one is a storm it's best to have a place to hide put this storm token in the weather space this means our palisade is going to get hit by one we're going to reduce it by one during the night or the weather phase our third card hopefully this will be the last one it will we have drought you were lucky to find the riverbed unfortunately it's bone dry if possible cover one of the train on any of the tiles that have the river tile treat that type as unexplored oh no this means if we needed to have that terrain type explored it's no longer explored and we can't build those items until we re-explore that probably with the bottom part of this card yep the new riverbed during the morale phase our explorer will gain four determination that's six total for her we then will produce gaining two wood we now have one two three four wood and i do think i'm gonna spend three right here to complete the next part of our wood pile that's good but we still need four and five we need nine more wood okay now to the action phase unfortunately i don't have any beast to hunt so for this round i'm doing a ton of gathering i'm gathering two food with our chef here our cook our explorers going for wood and our soldiers also going for wood our explorer is also going to deal with the new riverbed the carpenter is going to try and build the pit so we have a chance of getting food during the production phase he's also going to try and build his personal invention the snare which would allow him to get plus one food because he placed the snare in our location capturing some more animals to eat our soldier will use the three fur here to try and go for another roof level we now can resolve our actions so we'll start with the new riverbed we can gain one determination so we have one and we can uncover the riverbed so now we're going to be able to build things that have the river river symbol on it for the build action let's start with our carpenter trying to build the pit we really want the pit that's a success but a wound unfortunately that will hit a morale as well we'll move this down to the one space the nice part is now during that production phase we'll roll that brown wound token and if we roll a wound symbol we gain to food we'll try this again with his snare and he does not succeed he gets to determination but he does have an adventure that snare must have whacked him in the head he cut his head uh he takes one wound but gains two determinations so now he has four but he does have to place this wound token on his head and then shuffle this into the invent deck another wound really stinks and the damage to his head i'm sure that's gonna show up and two more we're going to two more wounds we're gonna push our morale down again we'll now roll for the soldier and the soldier succeeds but has an adventure i feel like the theme for this playthrough is bad weather put the rain symbol on the weather space and then shuffle this into the deck that means we're going to have a snowstorm that's going to hurt our palisade and include additional rain oh that's just nasty at least our soldier succeeded so we'll remove the three of fir and increase our roof to three we now have a bunch of gathering to do let's start with our cook we'll roll up our dice i think i'm going to use two of our uh determination here that allows us to re-roll one gray die i'm hoping to not have an adventure no i still did bummer but at least we succeeded our adventure card is end of source cover the source you are gathering with a black token showing that it's exhausted we'll gain one perishable food here but unfortunately we're gonna have to cover it up we'll try this again with the cook and we have just a success that will give us a second piece of food that does unfortunately mean for this round we're only going to have two food because the other two are trying to find wood we'll do the soldier next and we just have a success so that's going to be one piece of wood and then the explorer will have just a success as well so also a piece of wood this will end that action phase we only have two food two wood but we do have our pit for the next production phase our explorer does have the ability to discard three determination to be able to draw two of those discovery tokens keep one and discard the other there's two left oh this one would give our weapon plus two and this is the other scenario specific one that would give three determination tokens i think i'm gonna keep well three determination tokens yeah i might actually keep this one because i could give those determination tokens to the right people i'm also going to have our explorer spend to more determination to do this actually it's three so she'll only have one left discard three to increase the morale a wonderful speech this will mean we can push our morale back up to two we now move to the most dreaded phase of all the weather phase and we roll this and we've got two rain clouds so first thing we do is we look at how many of the uh snow clouds we have for every snow cloud we need to discard one piece of wood however we do have these blankets each use allows you to ignore one of those cloud symbols during the weather phase so we're going to ignore one of those this is going to save our butts in a lot of ways we're going to remove that we've now looked at how many snow clouds we have now we have to look at the total amount of clouds that we had if we had this that would have been four but we only have three clouds our roof level we just pushed up to level three so we're actually okay this though the storm still hits our palisade and that's going to be decreased by one we'll push this down to the one space now it's the night phase we only have two pieces of food so that means two people are not eating except the cook has stone soup up his sleeve three at determination he gains one food so he's all set to go we're going to have the explorer not eat that means she takes two wounds that'll end round six starting with round seven we'll have our carpenter be the first player we will move our tracker token up here and now we're rolling all three dice this has snow icons it's going to be eating up our our wood which is just wonderful and this red dye which can hit our palisade or we have to get our weapon up to three or we can maybe even lose food plus the orange dye and we're rolling all three of those until the end of the game we'll draw our first event and we have an adventure and then i'm just going to keep drawing until we don't have an adventure because it's easier for recording okay so we have two events this time and of course we have a beast the beast is here the predator comes into your camp and attacks you our total flight level is zero right now and we have to lose one but we gain two food one of the fur and our palisades gonna go down to zero so what i'm going to do is i'm going to have the cook do the attacking we're going to use the saber for that attack that will give us the three that we need but he's still going to take one wound from this and one wound from this that will mean we'll hit our morale one time we'll move this back down to the one space we do gain two food and one fur which i'm actually not sad about and we lose this palisade the actual event for this turn is bad feelings you have a bad feeling about this once again the books do nothing in the scenario we have to put a re-roll on the success in the gather action space and then we can simply place one worker here to get rid of this card of all the threat cards that one wasn't terrible during the morale phase our carpenter will gain three total morale one from this two because of the drums before we produce we get to see if any animals fell into our pit do you see that symbol on this die that means an animal fell in and we just gained two food that will mean we don't need any additional food so long as our roof holds up and we don't roll the lose one food on the red dye so maybe not quite enough but close then we will generate our wood we will generate two more wood so we have a total of four i was hoping to have four wood and that's exactly what i need to fill my wood pile before we start the action phase now all we need is five and we can get three from the mast we just need two more from somewhere else i'm feeling good before we start that action phase i'm gonna use all four of these discovery tokens this one as long as we have the pot we can make the medicine so we'll make the medicine active just in case because you never know then because we have the pot we can increase our morale and we're going to be able to heal for two damage we'll increase our morale back to two giving our explorer to more health gives us a little more leeway before we hit another morale uh symbol finally this pirate saber will increase our weapon level by one now i can show you the actions we're going to take we're going to have our explorer try and build some bricks to increase our palisade i am realizing i cheated last round but i don't know how to undo it so we're just going to keep going uh because i gathered from the tile that i had my camp on i can't do that so i would have gained some more food which would have meant people would have taken wounds i'm not going to try and undo all of that we're just going to go with it so i can only try and get one wood here and i'm going to try and get another wood two tiles away but when you do it with two tiles you have to use two workers to even go there three to guarantee it so these two collecting this wood we're still gonna have to roll for it because it's two regions away from where our campsite is we're sending both the cook and our explorer here to deal with the suspiciously quiet morning and we are finally going to build the mast we're going to guarantee it with our carpenter spending two of our determinations so we don't have to spend the one wood and gain three wood that's going to go directly to the wood pile with that we can begin this means both the cook and the explorer will gain one determination that will be the cook's first one and our explorer's second one we're then completing the mast for our build action i'll place three pieces of wood here we only need two or more but we did have to spend the fur and the two determination tokens to do it for one wood less our explorer will have to roll the dice to see if she succeeds she does but she has all of the things with it that means she will take one wound unfortunately our explorer had a bit of a breakdown you're not used to working with handmade tools decrease our morale by one and then shuffle this into the event deck you can see how just gosh darn important it is to keep your morale up because so many things want to push it down the good thing is we were able to build this so at the end of the action phase we will be able to increase our palisade by one we'll end with our two gather actions the first one is going to be the soldier we have to reroll our success well we didn't even get a success we failed at getting wood but we did get to determination so then uh and we have to have an adventure though because of this and we have a viper a viper hides in your clothes and you unknowingly bring it to your camp shuffle this into the deck this next roll will be the cook that's being supported by the soldier we'll roll up we do have a success we have to re-roll that and we have a success this means we've gained one wood and that's going to end the action phase we will push up our palisade by one and now we have to roll all three of these dice we'll roll up our dice and we have two rain clouds as snow cloud and nothing on this die the snow cloud we can cancel with our blankets and then our roof is at a level three so we're good here we have just enough food to feed everyone during the night phase good the cook does not have enough determination to make stone soup again i'm really hoping we can last three more rounds if we do eight nine and ten i only need two more wood to drop onto that wood pile i have that done i already have the fire made so then it's just surviving until round ten at the end of it first player we'll move to the soldier let's just see how many events we're gonna have to draw we have one we have two we have three four four blasted events our first one is snake bite while you are making breakfast suddenly something bites you in the neck the first player gets three wounds or just one if you have the cure and we do our medicine and we have medicine so that means the soldier will take one wound we're getting so close to another morale hit our second one is actually great the tools are not the best but by working hard you manage to achieve your goal the first player gains to determination that means our soldier has four now next we have the beast awakening the secret cave is the lair of a beast the beast attacks you it's a three for fight our fight is one right now our soldier will discard three determination though to increase or temporarily increase our attack by three so we should be good and no wounds will be taken here we'll gain two food one fur and our palisade goes down by one two food right here one fur but we lose our palisade our final event is of course heavy rain dark clouds are gathering it is going to rain and it will be heavy rain of course it will be heavy rain why wouldn't it be heavy rain we're going to place that in our gathering location and we will have one additional rain cloud to deal with during the morale phase our soldier will gain one plus two so three at total uh determination plus the one that she has that's four during the production phase we're hoping for our pit to find something no we did not trap any animals this time we do however gain to wood during the production phase and i'm going to give up these two wood to complete our wood pile our wood pile is complete now we can move to the action phase this is going to be the first round i don't roll any dice what i'm going to do is have the cook take care of both of these items the soldier will spend one wood to be able to build this dam and get two non-perishable goods the explorer is going to spend to here because we now have built our bricks to be able to push up our palisade and that's going to be guaranteed and finally our carpenter will guarantee build the snare with two of his workers and that will also gain him two more of the determination tokens we're getting to the point now where we can spend more time doing things because we're getting our stuff done so this will be two determination tokens to the cook that means he has a total of three we'll then build that wall and build the dam gaining two of the food and increasing the palisade by two we have the two food here i'm just going to push them in here because we're not rolling dice i don't have to even worry about it pushing this up to two we've gained the two determination tokens for building the snare and that means we can place this on our tile and now we'll generate one food and two wood in our camp location that is pretty gosh darn awesome that will end the action phase let's roll for our weather we have one rain cloud already we'll roll these up okay we're gonna lose one food oh boy we have a total of five rain clouds we'll use the last blanket here to decrease this down to only one snow cloud thank goodness then what we have to do with that is spend one wood per snow cloud because it's cold well guess who doesn't have any wood because i just used it yeah this team right here so that means we all have to take a wound because it's cold you know what we're not going to do that we're going to use our cook's ability here we're going to discard these three determination tokens to turn that one snow cloud into one rain cloud that's what i'm talking about this means we have a total of four rain clouds our roof is only at three so why don't we use our large leaves and cancel one more of these that means we're good with the rain oh but i'm using everything and i still have to last two more rounds this one we're just simply going going to lose one food because we are losing that one food we are going to slaughter this goat sorry goat and that's gonna give us one additional food and one additional fur we're going to lose that food so we are all set for the weather phase during the night phase we have four beautiful food to eat we're not moving our camp we're staying right where we're at and we should be good to go we'll move our first player token back to the cook and we're moving it to round nine we'll draw our event cards and we have two it looks like two adventure cards and then our event card remember that miss adventure we had right at the beginning of the game well we now have a swollen ankle from it and that's for our explorer this round the character with this on their leg can only do the resting the building or the making camp and then we'll discard this so not terrible actually because overall we're doing okay with where everything's at our next one is the headache if you don't okay this is talking about the individual this would be the carpenter i think he was building he was trying to build his snare and he failed the first time this says you have a big bruise on your head and an enormous headache if you don't have the cure we do have the cure uh so that means we don't have to do anything we just get to discard this token that's awesome and then our actual event we have frost what you feared most has just happened oh boy we have to place it's always this weather we have to place one snow cloud in the weather space in the moral phase our cook will gain three at determination tokens i'm telling you those drums were key in this game in the production phase we're hoping something fell into our pit no nothing fell into our pit we still will gain two wood and one food now that we have our snare so we need three well at least two more food because the cook can use stone soup for this round so we just need two more food i do want to mention the frost card told us to put this onto our event deck for gathering but it was already there so i didn't have to do anything let's try some gathering this time we're going to gather food with our cook in two different locations that should give us the four food or three food that we need and we're going to try and do two wood so if we get any of those snow clouds we can actually pay the wood so we don't freeze our explorer can do the build action she can't go out and explore or do any gathering but she can do the build action so she's going to guarantee build the furnace which will allow us to negate one whole snow cloud finally our soldier is going to continue to try and pump up our morale our build is first and it's guaranteed we have our furnace and we will have that for the rest of the game that is awesome let's then gather with the cook we have to have an adventure so we just roll two dice for this we succeeded unfortunately we found a spider suddenly a spider drops onto your head put a wound token on your character's head and shuffle this into the event deck our cook obviously doesn't love manual labor but he did get us one food at least and one damage to the head the cook will roll for his second one he will have an adventure but he did find some more food looks like our cook found some fruit you've eaten some fruit on your way back to camp put a wound token on your character's belly and shuffle this into the deck our cook may be somewhat wounded but two food is just what we need our carpenter will go next looking for some wood we just have a success and then the soldier will do the same thing remember i'm using two workers but they're two tiles away from us so we still have to roll for that and we have a success that's just two wood that was actually quite a good round i think we're going to move all of this in this furnace is essentially going to cancel this token so i'm just going to remove this and we're now going to move to the weather phase rolling those three dice oh wait before that of course the soldier will increase morale we want that to morale thank you very much let's roll the weather dice oh golly we still have three of these actually this will work we have to discard two wood and we needed to have a roof level of three which we do and nothing for this die two wood we absolutely can handle no problem then we move to the night phase we have to eat four food we have three here and the cook will be grudgingly make stone soup for himself again discarding three determination tokens this means we'll end round nine round ten we'll have the explorer be the first player and we just have to last this round round 10 here we come let's draw our event cards the question will be how many do we have to draw well we have to draw one only two our cook has a stomachache you feel terrible and can't even get out of bed if you don't have medicine but we do have medicine the character with this on their belly can only do resting this round but we do have that medicine you can see how important it is to have medicine so just discard that and we'll draw another card you know we have termites if possible discard one wood we have the one wood here we will discard it and that's it that's actually it so now we're gonna move to the production phase we'll roll to see if our pit gets us any resources and then we'll generate resources and hopefully do our last actions come on pit don't fail me now it did not that's great that's two food that should pretty much seal it for us we'll gain two food here plus another food because of our snare and then to wood so we have a total of three wood which should be able to handle all of the snow clouds that we can roll we're then simply going to guarantee gather with the cook and the explore so we just gained two food for that the carpenter and the soldier are both going to simply rest each healing by two one for each worker we'll decrease these each by two now i wish your morale would go up when you go backwards over that morale symbol that's not the case we'll then roll the weather dice up we have two a total of three clouds this thing is empty i love this so we have two snow clouds we'll cancel one of them because of our furnace so we only have to discard one wood and our roof is two or higher one wood gun but no problem we still have two wood left we then need to eat during the night phase we have four food here one left over it goes bad but that doesn't matter because that ship sees our huge wood pile burning away and we just won the game there you have it that was robinson crusoe adventures on the cursed island the first scenario i love it it's great i feel like it's a great intro into the game i will say in general i do win this scenario just because there's not as much that you need to get done my favorite scenario so far by far without a doubt is the robinson family one where you actually start having kids and you have to feed them too and you have to build every single invention that you have i love it it's so fun let me know which scenario is your favorite and also let me know if i did make any
