Robber Bees! : Beekeeping Quick Tip

okay hey everyone its Brandon from Brandon Spees but I just finished an inspection I want to show you something about what robbing activity looks like so as you can see these bees do not belong in this hive they are trying to get in that I have these covers on that's just an inspection of this hive so the honey maybe the honey smell or nectar smell pollen smell may be in the air and these bees right here not from this high luckily I have protectors on they can't get in but this upper box has the fewest amount of bees this one has more and obviously those two down there are more I have an enter introducer on the front some bees that don't belong are being kicked out by the guard bees but up here there's no guard bees to kind of you know push them off I do have this close so they can't get in but they can still smell it through the vents and so this is what robbing activity looks like if there was any weaknesses in this hive when the bees will be able to exploit it but I don't think there are any but they're gonna stay here until they decide that it's not worth their time anymore and then they're gonna leave so always at this time of year in the fall protect your hives make sure there's no openings cracks things like that where robber bees can get in because bees will exploit easy plunder so always make sure that your supplies are sealed yeah the best defense against robber bees is a lot of guns so just something to watch out for in the phone okay thanks for watching [Music]
