security guards. Now that the countdown to the Republican National Convention Pfizer forum will be at the center of it all in just a matter of days. Now it is the final countdown. Crews are rushing to get ready. You could see the work is happening all downtown. If you go down there, you can't miss it. It's everywhere. Jason Calvi, he joins us live. He's been kind of navigating through the barriers that are now up and the transportation, the transformation. Jason, it's still not done yet. Yeah that's right. So for example, right now you can walk through the security fencing. These are up all around downtown. Take a look at this. Must have been used for a previous event because this is an old sign. Look at what it mentions. It might be confused because it thinks it's in Chicago. It mentions Soldier Field. But right now in Milwaukee, the last rush is on for the RNC. More than 700 days since the RNC picked Milwaukee. Good. Now there's just days lef. That's the sound you hear across downtown. The sound of crews rushing to finish their last preps. These workers are putting up what will become the hard security perimeter, starting Sunday at six. You won't be able to get through these large fences. You'll need a special credential to get inside. It's the area surrounding the convention's main sights Pfizer forum, the Panther Arena, and the Beard Center on this map, it's the red kicking off convention week on Sunday, the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee will welcome some 15,000 guests to the Summerfest grounds. The Henry Maier Festival Park country music star Trace Adkins will play. It has been so much fun and especially to just give people an experience that's a little bit unexpected while still really celebrating what people know about Milwaukee and Wisconsin. They can expect a taste of Wisconsin Supper club, old fashioned bar, beer garden, and lots of other Wisconsin and Milwaukee favorites. We spoke to the man helping plan the party, David Caruso. I hope people take away from the welcome party. Just the overall sense that Milwaukee is a beautiful place that has a lot of terrific things to offer. The people here are extremely special. There's still a last rush of work before the host committees welcome party kicks off the Grand old Party, and that Nonpartizan host committee today announced that it's set a record for RNC host committees in fundraising. It's very easy to do so let's get to one of those questions right now Chris, in Milwaukee wants to know what resources are available for small businesses likely to be negatively impacted financially due to all the restrictions in place? Well, there's not there's not any cushion money out there to help them if they are going to lose money, I did I saw this question that came in a little bit earlier over into my email, and what it's what I suggested was that he actually owns a repair shop in the rough, the rough security zone, which is the yellow part of that security map. If you remember from our story, the area where you can drive in, you have to go through a security screening point. So he was a little worried because he thought that people were going to be not wanting to go through that security screening point. There's a Secret Service screening points for those vehicles to those cars to be able to get in to that repair shop. So as far as what's going to happen to him, there's not going to be any sort of, help for him. But hopefully, maybe people listening here will take some sympathy and come visit with his repair shop in Milwaukee. The good thing is, for Chris and all those other businesses impacted, it's really just five days that most of that security is in place from Sunday through Thursday, so hopefully they're able to kind of squeak by with that.
