was up everybody - boy panda daddy and today we're gonna be reading from our slash let's not meet a sub read about horrifying encounters with strangers and criminals videos like this usually have little to no commentary so mostly I make these for the individuals who just like to listen so if you want to just eat some food play a video game or just sleep go ahead and get ready for this video because it's about to get a little bit spooky you feel me so yeah I hope you enjoy and let's get started wrong house well this just happened 20 minutes ago I just moved back home with my parents divorced and they live sort of in the woods away from the main roads my old house that I just moved in from was in the next town over and on the main road so if you called the cops they could be there in like two seconds here it takes a little bit sometimes so I'm having my coffee on the couch my daughter is playing on the floor and we're the only ones home right now I walk out into the kitchen to make more coffee and I passed by the dining room windows which look out into the road in front of the house I see a man walking up the road which is kind of weird because it's such a private area that you really don't ever see cars or people unless they live here so I watched him coming up slowly up the road and then he stops in front of the neighbor's house and is staring at the house then I look over his shoulder and he does this a few times before I'm like okay so I slink out into the entryway and lock the front door walk back into the kitchen and he's still looking at the neighbor's house I go back into the room and retrieve a gun and I stay watching him out the window but out of sight then I watch him move forward and stop at our driveway my daughter is still watching TV in the living room as I kept looking back at her and him I took out my cell phone and call 9-1-1 and say oh my god I think someone's about to try to break in i'ma give you my address they said they were sending someone ASAP and to keep the doors locked I put my phone in my pocket while it's still on and I heard two loud thumps on the front door then again then again so I calmly walked over to the window next door and open it pointing the gun at the man and he steps backs and goes oh yeah wrong house so I say yeah wrong house and keep it pointed at him he stares at me for a moment which felt like literally 20 minutes before turning around and leaving I could still see him in the view when the cops pulled up so I pointed and they got him they said they found a lot of drugs on him and knives in his pocket along with some money so he was probably up to no good I was almost abducted as a preteen this happened a long time ago but it still sticks in my brain so clearly because I know now that I was very close to what could have been a horrible situation quick background I'm a girl with a pretty small stature and that was even smaller at the time this happened I was maybe 12 or 13 years old with my mom and I went to t.j.maxx one day it was pretty dark and jury out even for Washington state but it was the middle of the day probably a Saturday or something this TG Mex it's in a little shopping center where stores line two sides of the big parking lot and the other two sides of the lottery chased into a highway in the side street stores like a Safeway a bank your run-of-the-mill strip mall type area you know I'll also throw in that the highways notorious for being kind of the sketchy part of my hometown relatively speaking anyway my hometown was the type of town where kids could meander the streets basically at all hours of the day in most places and their parents really wouldn't worry much about anything happening we park in a lot and my mom gets out and starts walking towards the store I was being your run-of-the-mill preteen and walking behind so my mom was already about fifty feet away from me and nearly inside the store when I hear someone else call out to me they just shot a simple friendly Hey so I turn around and look there's this man about 30 to 40 years old standing halfway out of his car looking and waving at me I think maybe this is a parent of a friend or something as mentioned in the town I live in it's pretty safe in somewhat of a small town so I start walking towards him to this day I can't remember exactly what he was saying but I remember he had the biggest smile on his face like the biggest I'm the nicest person you've ever met smile you've ever seen he gets out of his car when I start moving towards him and then opens the door to his backseat maintaining that big unfriendly look about him he then gestures a come over here while motioning to the backseat of the car I sort of stopped and I'm sure I had the look of I'm not sure about this on my face because he becomes increasingly persistent in his gestures and then starts saying things along the lines of come on come over here etc like I said these words are fuzzy in my memory but the image is crystal clear at some point I thank God freeze up while he's beckoning for me to come closer and closer my 12 real brain cells told me this is exactly the sort of stranger danger adults warn you about I turn around and book it to the store and find my mom but without noticing that this man got back in his car and drove away needless to say it scared the absolute crap out of my mom when I told her and I made sure to stay a lot close to her instead of lagging behind after that to this day that memory of that man in his persistence in trying to get me in the back seat of his car gives me the absolute creeps you know what let's not mean ever and I hope that no other young naive kid fell for your trap guy who catfished me on tinder this happened after a breakup it was fairly recent as it happened in 2018 but it made me stop using tinder or any other dating app for a while I was just matching with other people left and right mostly boring swipes but also anyone who piques my interest I matched with this guy who was in the army and his main picture was a photo of him in army uniform and his last name I presumed he was far away from me so I thought maybe he had a tinder premium I sent him in hello and he replied saying hi as well I was gonna send him a message again but then you were applied saying if we can message by email and he left his email address I know this should be the time my warning signal should be going off but I thought well he's in the army I guess army people can't always have their phone with them and I was also saying what's the worst that could happen I emailed him at a throwaway email account I had this would ultimately lead me to being the best choice I made in this situation he replied to me mentioning his name his birthday his location his job and so much more personal information no sane person would give this is where it got weird for me he was saying in his email that he went on tinder to find a woman he could love and be with since he was in the Army he says that it gets lonely and doesn't want to be single forever while this may be sweet I just want to say he's 28 and I just turned 18 age gaps really don't matter much to people but at this situation the red signal was really flaring I politely declined saying that I wasn't really interested in anything serious and I just went on tinder because I was bored he then proceeds to tell me that he hopes I could love him and wait for him and that he will visit me when he's done with his service he also asked me if I could send a photo of myself aside from the ones I had on tinder I just had a few phase photos of myself but not exactly body shots so don't get any ideas and with every reply I send and every reply he gives he gives me a photo of himself I never asked for it but I was curious if it was some photo he's saved from Google - my initial relief it wasn't but I still felt off about the situation I was still replying saying I didn't want anything serious and he suddenly up the creep factor by saying he hopes that I could love him and have a family with him like what the [ __ ] so after that I was feeling really often uncomfortable that I started covering my own webcam and trying to find a way to see if the photos he sent were actually him I found a profile that had the photo but it was of a different language so I couldn't really tell but it looked like a matchmaking site I got desperate and asked my IT Frank there was a way he could know if this guy was legit or who he says he is to cut it short he was not who he says he is he was using a VPN to show that his area was what he told me in early emails and that his actual location was somewhere in India or whatever I wish I could say this wasn't true but up to this day it really creeps me out to think that what if I trusted this person whoever he is and gave him like one or two photos of me or if I talked to him more either way to the tinder guy who catfished me I hope I don't ever see or hear from you ever again creepy guys in the park so this was about a year ago for background I was walking home from university with my backpack the quickest route and one I took often was to cut through a park on my left would be thick bush with trees quite dense no visual after 20 metres then construction for a new housing estate and then on the right was wood and then open hill with benches along the path so I'm walking home about 4:00 p.m. and as I'm about to get to the path I see a man stand up from where he was laying in the grass wearing one of those sleeping bag units and a hoodie underneath I didn't think too much of it I assumed he was homeless he got up and walked the path ahead of me as I come up the path I see him joined by another man in a jacket holding a four foot long stick they're both standing still in the woods to either side of them alarm bells right as they come up to pass them the second guy stops me and says the words too effective I just heard a girl scream from inside the woods and pointed to the trees on my left I do not buy this for a second giving the time I told him it was most likely a couple of kids let out of school but he is adamant that I alone and unarmed going to this would ahead of him and check it out I take another look at the stick and tell him I can call the police when I'm home no chance I'm pulling my phone out in front of these highway men I walk away and as I get to the benches I see two young girls and I asked them if they heard a child scream too they answered no but imagine if you're a child and you see a bearded guy approaching you and asking you a question you don't want that guy to go so I nodded and warned them of the actual creeps and left the part as soon as I was clear at the park I called the police informed them of what happened and gave the best description I could spoke to a couple of officers when they arrived and pointed them in the direction of two young girls and two creepy fellows haven't heard a peep since and trust me I know exactly what would have happened if I went into that forest just not to extend them how much they would have hurt me I'm happy with my response to this situation if something makes you uncomfortable just remember that you can leave strange guy at the gas station after hours at the time this happened me and my friends were all 16 to 18 years old there were four of us you were spending a Friday night together we were going to a party and all dressed up I was driving since the party is about twenty to thirty minutes away I need a guess I decided to stop and get at our local gas station when we pull in the lot is empty except for two cars one was a little black car parked off to the side where employees typically park and the other was a big black SUV parked directly in front of the store with a man sitting on the hood of it staring into the windows so I pull up to a pump and a friend I get out of the car so he could walk to the store and pay and maybe get some drinks before heading out as we go to approach the door the man shouts they're closed I went to try the door and as I did he started lunging forward so I let go and just thanked him for letting us know and turn to leave as we start walking away he shouts at me is this your car I nod and he smiles how old are you he asks I respond with too young for you since he was obviously in his late 20s he smirks and says that we look nice tonight he even called me sweetie like the whole nine yards my friend says that we're not interested and we started hurrying back to my car he shouted that he hopes we have a good night tonight and I waved back from my car as we start driving off he just sat there staring and waving since we thought the gas station was open all night turns out it closed at 11:00 and we got there just before there are other two friends started freaking out that something was wrong and that we should call the police she called the local station gave him a description of the man in the vehicle and told them that the gas station should have been open but we didn't think that he'd let us inside we suspected that a robbery may have been occurring and the lookout the cops said they check it out we didn't hear back of course but drove by later and both cars were gone and no officers were in sight I still wonder what he was waiting for even though it very easily could have been an employee or something that was driving home the whole experience was just odd mark from a sleepaway camp this happened a few years ago when I was 12 and at a sleepaway camp for the first time my name is Jacob it's important later on I didn't know anyone going into the camp but I made friends very quickly one of my bunk mates named Mark was a little off and while everyone in our bunk was friendly with each other he was somewhat isolated from the rest of us I was really the only one who ever started conversations with Mark and tried to include him in everything because I was always taught to never leave anyone else the sleepaway camp I went to was very modern and allowed people to bring their tablets and iPods just not phones I didn't bring any electronics but Mark had an iPad mark would not let anyone touch his iPad except for me he will let me play games on his iPad one night when Mark was in the shower he left me his iPad to play Angry Birds I was in the middle of launching birds at green pigs when an alarm started to go off on his phone he had sent a reminder to shower but I guess he didn't need it I tried to shut the alarm off and accidentally clicked on it and it went to the war map my heart sank when I saw an alarm set for 2:00 a.m. that said playing with sleeping jacob mark slept with headphones in so only he would be able to wake up from that alarm I didn't say anything about it because I thought I could have read it wrong and he would have gotten mad at me and no longer let me play on his iPad yeah stupid I know but that night I couldn't fall asleep I just laid awake in bed sure enough a few hours into the night I heard of rustling two beds down mark got up and walked over to my bed to this day I remember the creepy moonlit smile on his face as he stared over me he came to the side of my bed right near my face and started to stroke my hair I immediately jumped up and yelled what the [ __ ] are you doing in waking the most of the cabin probably the cabins next door to mine Mark said I just wanted to see if you were awake and I gilda him but most of my counselors dismissed me saying that I was paranoid then I told one of my counselors about the alarm he forced mark to open his iPad and there was the alarm mark spent the next day doing activities with us as normal but he spent the night sleeping in the infirmary after that night I never saw him again know that he lives within 30 minutes of me so mark let's not meet mugged in Bolivia this story happened in the early 90s but it didn't happen to me it happened to my parents when they were traveling around South America for experience as it's my parents story I'm really recounting it and I may miss out on really specific details so my parents were in their early 30s and they were traveled around South America places like Peru Colombia Argentina and Bolivia so they were coming towards the end of their trip and their final destination was Bolivia to do some relaxed hiking as they've been told it's the safest place out of all of their destinations sidenote my mom believes this is why her and my dad missed out on some major red flags my parents were due to meet some other travelers in la paz to commence their hike but my parents played I've been delayed me and they've arrived in Bolivia a day later and that meant that they had to travel to meet up to the point so they can hike by themselves my father says it would have been a no go anywhere else but they committed to travel on their own destination and talk to some other locals and set a foot on a path which was about a six-hour hike to meet up with the other hikers as they commenced their hike they noticed that there were little signs of civilization and began to worry as the locals had given them directions in Spanish and my dad was speaking off the Spanish he learned in high school which wasn't the highest level but they continued on the path time goes on in the path begins to look even more sketchy but my dad was sure that they were close to the meetup point but then The Observer woman my mother noticed a well-worn Jeep driving down the path and made a gesture to wave them down ask for some directions the Jeep had three men occupying the vehicle my mum recalls as soon as she saw the men she began to have a sinking feeling in her stomach the men put on a fake smile and in broken English they asked where my parents were headed the conversation roughly follows as man 1 hola were you guys going mom for trying to find insert meet up name man 1 oh that's close we can take you if you like the vibe my mother got from these gentlemen suggested that it would be a bad decision to do so so she kindly rejected them and they drove off 10 minutes past and the same Jeep comes back down the road and they slowed down to where my parents were having a rest break from hiking my mother looks at the driver and the men have a completely different vibe coming from them they had a crazy fire in their eyes the men's speed and pullover tore my parents are and jumped out the Jeep with one of them holding a pistol of some kind we're from the UK in Australia so we don't know what type of gun it was and the rest were holding large machetes and began shouting at my parents for money and all of their belongings my father the intelligent he is thought quickly to oblige and tell my mother to agree to it also the only thing that he had to keep were their passports which they left at their hotel back in the city of La Paz so they gave them their gear but the men seemed to want more and they turned their attention to my mother they put a knife to my mother's throat and began to pull out her clothes my father shouted at them and threw a punch at one of the men hitting him in the jaw the main leader the driver struck my father across the face with the base of the machete leaving a huge gash on his head my mother screamed for help but managed to struggle away from the men and grabbed my father and began to run away from the men the men got what they wanted from my parents their belongings and money but my mom recalls them saying that they will chase after them in Spanish her Spanish wasn't good either a little gear my mom still had she set up a tarp 100 meters off the path and began to treat to my father's head wound with her clothing hours passed and the weather begins to turn into a huge downfall the rain begins and my mom still says that this is what saved her and my dad as the men would not look for them in this weather as bolivia is known for some heavy rain and flash flooding but she does remember being woken in the night by a similar-sounding Jeep pulling up around where her and my father were hiding the next day with my injured and incoherent father and my mother found a local town and was so desperate to get back to La Paz that she offered all of her camping equipment to someone who could drive them to the city luckily there was a local who offered to help them and also spoke fluent English and told them that they've taken the wrong path into drug territory and they were very very lucky once my parents had rived to La Paz they found out that the people they were meeting at that spot had never shown up and were in La Paz my parents don't often speak about this experience as I believe it was quite traumatic for them but all I can say is that I'm very thankful to the local who helped my parents as I might not be here today into the crazy drug men for your sake let's not meet what's up everyone I hope you enjoyed the video today I had a lot of fun you know reading these stories I mean it's weird to say having fun but it's like it's interesting you know reading from let's not meet because it's like almost really terrible situations but at the same time very horrifying situations I'm just glad I never had to experience something
