This video is partly filmed by my sibling. Today we are riding the fastest train in the world. The SC MagLev L0. Please enjoy! Hello, we are at Yamanashi, home of Mount Fuji. Japan’s high-speed rail system has been operating for over 50 years. While the rest of the world is trying to catch up to 1964 Japanese standards, Japan is about to unveil the fastest train in the history of humanity, There it is now. Japan Railways Central’s SC Maglev L0. The train holds the Guinness record at 603km/h. A bit faster than any train in America. Today, we will be riding it. The project is scheduled to operate by 2027, and link Tokyo and Osaka which takes 150 minutes in just 67 minutes by 2045. Today's ride will run from... A total ride of 20-minutes. While the cost from Tokyo-Osaka will be cut down to 16,000JPY The maglev project itself is estimated to cost 10 trillion yen (75 billion Usd.) With that fund you can: Buy Twitter (33 billion), End homelessness in USA (20 billion), and become the next Mr.beast. It's not like the project started a few years back either, as history dates back to 1962. The first prototype took 10 years to build. And after 60 years, the train evolved from a flying saucer to... The Maglev type L0. looks like a Long Duck. A tribute to this channel's profile image. And because it's still in it's prototype phase. The train is scheduled to run only 5 times a day over 10 days this year. and is limited to lottery based winners The test is off to the 3rd test of the day. Today we are scheduled to ride the 4th test. And there it goes.
See you later. If nothing happens to the train, it will pass us 2 times. The train will pass by soon. Here it comes. !!! Before the train makes its return, Let's discuss how the Magnetic levitation train is able to reach record-breaking speeds. According to Wikipedia, The SCMaglev system uses an electrodynamic suspension (EDS) system. The trains' bogies have superconducting magnets installed, and the guideways contain two sets of metal coils. The current levitation system utilizes a series of coils wound into a "figure 8" along both walls of the guideway. These coils are also cross-connected underneath the track.[3]As the train accelerates, the magnetic fields of its superconducting magnets induce a current into these coils due to the magnetic field induction effect. If the train were centered with the coils, the electrical potential would be balanced and no currents would be induced. However, as the train runs on rubber wheels at relatively low speeds, the magnetic fields are positioned below the center of the coils, causing the electrical potential to no longer be balanced. This creates a reactive magnetic field opposing the superconducting magnet's pole (in accordance with Lenz's law), and a pole above that attracts it. Once the train reaches 150 km/h (93 mph), there is sufficient current flowing to lift the train 100 mm (4 in) above the guideway.[3] These coils also generate guiding and stabilizing forces. Because they are cross-connected underneath the guideway, if the train moves off-center, currents are induced into the connections that correct its positioning.[3] SCMaglev also utilizes a linear synchronous motor (LSM) propulsion system, which powers a second set of coils in the guideway. or in 5 year old terms, Big magnets push and pull to make train fly. perfectly timed alternation of super conducted magnets makes train move. minimal friction than wheel = very super speed. but that's just a theory. In reality, it's actually "grandmagnetic" levitation. The true engine is her. Behold. The grandma. Finally putting Japan’s aging population at the economic forefront. The maglev is back. We now head to the Maglev boarding site... but before that... Let's celebrate our lottery win with a Maglev compilation. Osaka bound (410km/250mph) Tokyo Bound (500km/300mph) Osaka bound (410km/250mph) Tokyo Bound (500km/300mph) Osaka bound (410km/250mph) Tokyo Bound (500km/300mph) Osaka bound (410km/250mph) Tokyo Bound (500km/300mph) Tokyo Bound (500km/300mph) 1/5 speed Tired Maglev (0km/0mph) Lighting McQueen in shambles. Now that the train is back, It’s time to ride the Maglev. This is the ticket. My seat will be 5A. lol Alright, there you go. April 21st 2015. 603km/h. "OFFICIALLY AMAZING" Indeed it is. "Today's test run will reach the commercial speed limit of 500km/h." It's time to board the train. Test run 4. In we go. Is there a washroom? Not yet. Wowza. So this is the future of design. It looks like the future will
de-evolve to use USB 2.0. The table is quite small for the future. Future hook action. Carbon fiber side table. "The train will depart soon." And we are off!!! The train will start by using
regular wheels until 150km/h. From 150km/h, the train will switch over to Superconductive Maglev. "The train is now switching over to Maglev." "Woahhhhh" The train has now reached…150km/h Switched over to magnetic levitation. Now it will accelerate to 500km/h. "There's little to no vibrations that you barely feel like you're moving." "but then again you look outside and..." "it's passing by at unbelievable speeds." 400km/h. 450km/h. Clap Clap Clap Clap "Even at 500km/h" "It's still a very smooth ride." All hail Maglev Outside the train absolute chaos. I love staring at industrial intestines. We made it out. we traveled 42.8km so far. We are reversing, and heading back towards Tokyo. Another 40km to go. 501km. It's slowing down. The ride is over soon. And it's back. Another happy landing. I sure can’t wait until this train starts its commercial run. Unlike the hyperloop, this technology
seems practical and efficient. Magnetic levitation. I am hopeful. One day I will ride it myself. Thank you for the ride. Until I win a ticket... Losers of the lottery are able to board this... The 1-car Maglev train. Even floats. Wow Very comfortable. Truly innovative. Truly the fastest train in the world. Thanks for watching. Have a nice day.
