if you were a fan of rigid tools or you were somebody that's looking to get into the rigid line but you're a little bit confused about what's going on with ridgid today don't worry in this video i got you covered all the speculations all the rumors we're gonna work them out right here and we're going to tell you what the truth is what's up everybody my name is clint and welcome to the tool review zone channel now if you are in the ridgid platform or if you're thinking about getting into the rigid platform there has been a lot of changes lately when it comes to the rigid brand you might be walking through the home depot and you're seeing gen 5x brushless tools compact tools brush tools octane tools and it's been really confusing there's also been a lot of speculation when it comes to the batteries that they just came out with they're being a lot less powerful do they work on the other rigid tools that you already have are the cells any different and what about the lsa every question that you are asking yourself we are going to cover this in full on this video and not only that i am going to show you even more tools announced by ridgid that you haven't seen yet a little bit later in the video so you definitely want to stick around you want to check out this entire video so you don't miss out on anything and if you want get subscribed hit that bell notification so you get all the information you need not just on rigid but every brand of tool all right first up let's talk about the rigid batteries the new max outputs and the octane as i already speculated the octane is dead they are gone there are no more now that said if you have octane tools don't worry your batteries will still work on the new tools that just came out from ridgid but if you bought that in a combo kit you have an lsa agreement on those rigid batteries the problem is there's only so many octane batteries that were produced you had a 3ah you had a couple other sizes but they're going away however if you have the lsa agreement on those octane batteries don't worry even if they do go bye-bye ridgid will still honor that lsa agreement on those octane batteries and because there is no replacement for the 3ah on the max output compared to the octane ridgid will actually update your battery to the 4ah max output for free what i'm trying to say is if you are in the octane platform and they're signed up on the lsa don't worry about it if those batteries go bad they will make it right and replace them with the new max output battery now let's talk about the octanes real quick why are they getting rid of the octanes well long story short they were too big they were too bulky and they were underperforming not to mention a lot of people were getting confused as mentioned earlier in the video you had the gen 5x you had the brush tools you had the brushless tools you have the compact it was just too much so basically what ridgid is doing is cleaning up a mess instead of walking into the home depot now and finding 10 different types of rigid tools you're going to be able to find the compact you're gonna be able to find the max output and the brushed tools now i asked ridgid why are they continuing with the brush tools and well number one they're cheaper and two therefore they're prosumer or people are doing work around the house not construction work not the contractor where the max output batteries on the other hand are for more construction type of work which brings me to another question that a lot of you the subscribers had about these batteries a lot of people started worrying because they felt that the octane batteries had the 21700 cells and these new batteries only have the 18650 cells i get that point but i want to let you know that i think some of us were misguided the only rigid battery that had the 21 700 cells was the three ah octane battery every other battery even the other octane sizes the six the eight they were all 18 650. that said the new max output still has the 1800s but for some reason they decided to put the 21700 in their 888. don't ask me why they're just doing that all right so you ask yourself what is the difference now with the max output batteries compared to the octane batteries well long story short is they're more powerful or they're going to offer you less sag what ridgid is claiming is these no matter what tool you use even your brush this will give them more power now let me explain and expand on that a little bit more the brushed tools you're not going to get that much more power however if you were using a brushless tool or an octane tool a gen 5x tool this battery they are claiming you will get two times the amount of power using this than what you would even use on the octane they are sort of redefining where they're at in the world of tools all of the specs except for maybe the high torque impact has better specs than what they ever released before just take a look at the new recep saw you're looking at 3 200 strokes per minute with a one and a quarter inch stroke length that is more than they've ever had before where they usually sat around 3 000 strokes per minute and i believe it was a 1 1 8 stroke length so hopefully that clears up a lot of the misconceptions about the batteries that i've been hearing and some of the subscribers have been bringing forward to me yes these will be two times more powerful than the octane batteries there's no smart app but i gotta be honest with you i never use the smart app all that much to begin with and on top of all that their tools such as their impacts their drills their hammer drills they are all getting smaller so if you notice the octane line was getting bigger and bigger these are getting smaller and smaller and they are more powerful than the octane line all right so here's the thing we already talked about the batteries hopefully that answered a couple of your questions now a couple days ago i uploaded a few pictures that showed you new tools but we have even more here that they are coming out with i'm going to show them to you right now hold up wait a minute i missed something here and this is going to be huge for you now it used to be that if you wanted to put your batteries under the rigid lsa agreement you had to buy them in a combo kit or with another tool that is no longer the case they have changed that if you buy any rigid max output battery yes that is right if you buy any rigid battery max output or their chargers that they just came out with or coming out with don't worry you will be able to put those on the lsa by themselves no more combo kits separately that is freaking huge all right so let's go ahead and take a look at these newer tools now i already showed you a lot of these but there are others that i did not get to show you and i do want to give a shout out to my dude vince over at bcg because i had lost my copy of this and he sent this over for me to show you unfortunately i also believe that he sent over a computer virus and now my computer is acting very strange and i would not put it past him to do such a thing so here are the batteries again these are the different sizes the 6ah the two and then the four lifetime warranty on those so you can buy them separately and get that lsa which is awesome all right so here are some of the combo kits and the prices if you're looking at them so there are only two batteries this is a little bit confusing right here you don't get four you get two batteries two batteries two batteries for that price not four now these are the things that i am excited about you're getting a dual charger that they're coming out with which you can also be covered under the lsa it says it right here now covered by the ridgid lsa you do not have to buy it in a combo kit but it's a dual charger and it charges simultaneously and it's a fast charger so so it charges two 18 volt compact batteries within 30 minutes so a 4h probably 60 minutes or maybe even a little less than that i have to check that out myself once we get them in our hands this is really cool this is what i'm excited about charges 18 volt compact batteries in 30 minutes so i'm also guessing it's the 2ah they're talking about but this here has 8a on there you can put one two three four five six batteries so it is a sequential battery charger but you can put one battery in the next battery index battery you don't have to put a battery in a certain spot it will charge if you come down here they are coming out with a new 18 volt sub compact brushless one-handed recip saw now they already came out with one of these a couple years ago we did a review but this is smaller and once again they're trying to clean out all the octanes and clean out all the gen 5x and just make it a little bit more i guess neat when it comes to what they offer so they're redoing a lot of the tools that you've already seen in the years past so that way if you're going into the home depot you don't have to worry about looking at all these different names of the tools and the gen fives and blah blah blah you'll only have this the compact and the brush tool so right here new one-handed resip they're also claiming this is the most powerful brushless motor and the smallest right angle the most compact right angle drill that will be out on the market when this hits so again lifetime limited warranty and you can see the specs right here if you scroll down this is the six and a half inch saw they also have another saw that we talked about in the last video i'll leave that card down here you got two different radios it's supposed to sound better than the previous radios and it's supposed to have better quality than the previous radios if you've seen the one video that i had with my mini radio and it died on me i was i was devastated but this is supposed to have better quality range up to 100 feet when it comes to the bluetooth usb port and all that good stuff they also have another radio down here bluetooth 100 feet dual speakers all the same stuff that we talked about the usb port they do have a couple lights coming your way so you got the 340 lumen it's a 135 degree pivoting head with detent and you got the hanger right here and a belt clip if you want right here is another lights the 18 volt stick light 800 lumens and you can move this head all around up down left right 180 degrees 270 degrees rotating head with d10 so yes there are even more rigid tools coming to market that we already showed you in that previous video and here they are they will also i believe continue to come out with even more than this throughout the year which is exciting i'm happy that they're sort of condensing this bringing this down and just not having names like octane this that and every other thing they're making them smaller they're making them a little bit more powerful from what they're saying all right here's the exciting part we have a lot of these new tools in our possession and we are going to start putting videos out tomorrow on these tools we're going to start doing recep sauce we're going to start doing the tool tools again we're going to put these things to the test and see if they live up to that two times more powerful i really want to see what these new tools can do and if there are any limitations on them now i do want to let you know a couple other things i talked to rigid today and they're very helpful in answering questions that i had not only for myself but from the channel members and the subscriber base the first question i asked them was what about the rigid 12 volt lineup was the rigid compact series taking over and basically pushing out the 12 volt and they really did not have an answer but i will tell you i don't think that is the case i think there will be some more research and development going into the rigid 12 volt tools and you're probably going to see more of those coming out hopefully down the road now another question that i asked ridgid was what about a track saw this is probably the most requested tool by many of the subscriber base now as of now they did not say they had any plans or anything they're working on but i do have a feeling that ridgid is very good at listening to their subscriber base so i wouldn't be surprised if you see a tracks off from ridgid sometime in the future now if that's important to you leave me a comment in the comment section and let me know would you like a rigid track saw another question that i asked ridgid straight out was what about outdoor power equipment a lot of people are invested in the rigid 18 volt lineup they don't want to jump ship and go to a different manufacturer just for a weed eater or a lawnmower i think it would be nice to see a push mower i think it would be nice to see a blower a weed eater and maybe a couple other outdoor power tools coming to their lineup what do you think about that leave me a comment in the comment section i would love to see ridgid come out with some outdoor power equipment so there you go all thank you for taking the time to watch this video and get this information that hopefully helped you thank you bridget for taking the time to talk with the tool review zone channel today and help answer some of these questions if you want to see these new tools going to work don't forget to get subscribed hit that bell notification because we're going to start those videos tomorrow and if this video has helped you and you can smash that like button greatly appreciate it i always appreciate you stopping by with that we'll be back with more videos soon
