[Music] what's up everyone I'm streaming live from the past what's happening [Music] wait what was that old man guitar what man I gotta ban somebody already uh yeah so I haven't figured out the microphone thing so I was just ending my other channel and trying to figure out I got this new mic but I haven't figured it out yet um maybe I have to take it back I don't know I don't know what the deal is with it it's really it's really frustrating trying to get the sound right the sound sounds good right right now it sounds like Bach by the way the only way to support my channel here well you can support it two ways the Beato club or or you can purchase something from my wet from my store from my for my website like might be out of book everything is 20% off I know some of you that live places where you know the discount really helps everything in my store is 20% off and the code is RB 1004 so it's October 4th 10-4 104 what did I say 1004 RB 104 1:04 greetings from an article no way come on super rad lizard no way you're in Antarctica is it if I made every continent now come on tell me the truth are you really in it in Antarctica [Music] I don't believe it [Music] so that's a that would be April in the UK let's see s shriek 1987 that that level of the be Auto club's filled unfortunately where you can get free feedback on your music so the thing I was playing what's up Joel this new guitar I've had it for a couple months I'm just playing spread triads this is just a like a warm-up exercises I like to play am I ever gonna do tame impala I will [Music] so right here's D minor and I'm going to G major so I'm going D minor G major G major C major F major B diminished to a over G sharp a minor C sharp diminished okay so but I'm doing some inversions I'm going D minor G major and first inversion C major root position F major and first inversion B diminished I'm just playing root flat fifth and the third but right that's your G sharp right and a minor [Music] that's a different progression so d-minor so this is going to a first inversion b-flat major chord so I'm going D minor B flat major then eat e half diminished so that's a 2/5 and D minor so I've got D minor B flat major E diminished a or C sharp D minor I could go to G major there then I go C minor you can put in some suspensions there too I could go [Music] right here [Music] that's hard you know hey figure out a finger that that tapping noises you're hearing my my guitar because it's I'm close to the mic so that's what you're here you're only hearing the tapping because you're hearing the guitar if you're hearing the amp miked you wouldn't hear any of the tapping I'm only begging Ryan Rick piata wanna Gmail so as a cool little thing right there I'm just just using passing diminished 7th chords there a PDF of this it's all in my Beato book Brutus it's all on to be out of book this exercise will explain my right hand okay I'm not sure what I'm doing with my ran what's up Nepal um which page I don't know where it's where there are spread triads I guess I'm only picking the E string and the g string the discount code is RB 104 so it's like October 4th 1:04 we're working on the ear training course so right hand I'm explained to the right hand here so I'm doing [Music] this note is always picked picked in you know it's always hammered on I mean this note on the a string [Music] so you can do some of these are so yeah so I'm using this finger as a finger picking be easier I'm not sure about that [Music] now I'm not using anything or maybe I am [Music] so those kind of things are really really like you can do it on just two strings you'd have to do a spread try it's these kind of things are really cool for making your playing sound like it has a seamless quality you can get to be out of book on my website at Ric piano calm [Music] so I'll say I'm taking I could could so say I'm taking all the notes of C major or F major men so your street really hard to do page 193 is it be out of book there you go [Music] and then you do I'm going I'm doing them I'm going up this one Thank You captain cornflakes so I'm playing the third and octave up okay so yeah so blend third octave up that's what a spread triad is actually so spread try it is if you take a straight triad right let's say I take this let's say I take this F major triad right here this is F major trust me there's F major if I take the middle note and move it up the octave it becomes a spread triad [Music] Henry you don't have numbers in the Barry you don't have numbers and be out a book and so yes that's what spread try this you take a take a triad and you take the middle note either up or down the octave frankly you could say you could take a triad like this which is C major take the middle note move it down you active and you get a spread try like that see GE so one five three [Music] it's an inversion of a spread triad so spread triads of all inversions root position first inversion second inversion so that's how you that's how you practice your spread triads like that does your ring ever bother you when you play yes Julio does see your that's hard to do and play it up here before Ariel [Music] ah ah Rick fiato ban you please are you serious okay I will there you go you're banned how's that I got it now whoo that's for hard to do though that's really hard to do but those things are cool to do in just in one position to practice those and go up one come down the next [Music] really hard to do yet again to change up the fingerings there though when you're doing it if I come down it now here I have to play different fingerings so you have to be open to doing these things these are arpeggios yes what do I think of tray I worked with tray for four and a half months [Music] but 15 years ago but be able to to cover the guitar like that so so what you want to do so I'm I can go from seed after G these are did I see your comment on the Eddie Van Halen video I did not could you become a good guitar player in your 40s assuming he started with zero knowledge probably if you practiced a lot how old was I when I learned my first instrument I started in the cello when I was a nine I think [Music] if I ever come to Rochester [Music] what am i using now I'm using a little Vox practice amp right now [Music] I don't know what kind of is [Music] do I do clinics in the EU I would if I get invited [Music] oh good gimmick 1 2 3 is a good question here what daily exercise you said suggest is best to practice for looking to play better to play better over changes was that the thing to play better over changes I would work on I would actually write out solos and transcribe solos that's the way you can learn how to play over changes really really well how do you a super chat question here for $5.00 how do you not get how do you not get tendinitis from practicing a lot you take a lot of breaks you take a lot of breaks that's how I think that people are certain people are prone yes stretching is very important Thank You Billy let's see here I tell you I was really I have a really bad I've got some really bad arthritis in my aura tendinitis in my thumb right now this is something that kind of goes comes and goes but really bad in my right hand thumb it's it's it's super sore right now ah it hurts when I do that if you ever feel short pains sharp pain stop Grayson said which is correct what is my most hated artist I don't know I don't really think about that [Music] he'll be using the mouse it's true [Music] you gave me a $5 tip it's an any event a TV trick I don't know what that means I don't see the I don't see one super jet here man any tips on practicing soloing over chord progressions and targeting certain court tons great question yes so you learned how to play into chord changes okay so this would be that's a great question so let's say that you got by the way Beato booked everything in my store my mugs everything is on sale RB 1:04 everything's 20% off that's how I make my living so if for me to keep making videos that's that's how I do it and the Beato Club you guys can join the Beato Club it's it's a artist funding you know it's like patreon but but actually good I apologize to anybody it's on patreon so you may have donated through stream labs I don't have oh I don't have stream labs open right now what's your question if you did it through stream labs ask me what your question is on van Halen I'm gonna talk about playing into court unit so you practice I'm playing line so let's say you've got at to five like that under the Milky Way I want to do by the church I love under the Milky Way cos because I love that cord right there that's an under the Milky Way the discount code DK is our b10 for okay so practice playing into court change so let's say I've got a two five chord there so I'm going to just play I'm just getting little pieces of scales [Music] and practice playing into core tones I'm gonna practice playing into the sharp nine their mets doesn't sound like much but I played but you got to finish out the line or [Music] just take little fragments [Music] yeah I would there's some really good exercises in my book about practicing from one chord to the next you know if I've played so I went so I went I started on that the third of the a minor seven then I go to the seventh of a d7 chord there and I come down mixolydian [Music] [Applause] [Music] so um that's kind of how I do it I just practice like that you guys can hear that I'm playing over over core tones over chord changes right let's see here when you do input discount code you don't see the check it it's at the end of the check out Roberto discount code I'm pretty sure that's where it is if you have a problem with it just write me so uh so yeah so I'm playing over these [Music] okay let's see sure it's a Gretsch but which one it is I don't know a streamliner I think the discount code is our b10 for it's today's date so what are the chords behind that I'm playing two five one six [Music] let's see here can I talk about a little bit about the substitutions I just used the bossa nova style progression okay so I'm doing some some substitutions there so I've got two five one six right two five one six and G major so I take a minus seven and I go to C major seven kind of orchid start here it's up for a minor 7 io [Music] so I'm doing different different inversions of the cords there I'm doing you know C major seven or three notes of a C major 7 as a sub for a minor 7 then then I'm doing a d7 over C then doing a G major 7 over B but I'm only playing certain notes because it sounds cool right [Music] is there any passing chords in there man I mean I'm kind of playing over the over the chords that are there I mean when I do chords like this this you might think of as a passing or a d7 but I'm playing the diminished substitute is my book for advanced players Craig my book starts literally it's 461 pages it starts with how to name intervals it starts with basic theory and then gradually gets more and more complex it's for any instrument to so but yeah so like this d7 chord I could play d7 right d9 I could play d7 sauce I could play a B major over D which is like this you know 13 flat 9 I could play like a lady sauce beef lets us over D [Music] okay [Music] when do you play a diminished scale when do you play the Miss Gail um you play diminished scale over this kind of stuff right so I've got a minor seven and then here's these D seven flat nine here's a diminished scale there's a diminished scale in this board then I don't - and I'd played up that's out dere [Music] you'd be a platinum member Jerry for the next 12 months will be a plan to member write me will fit you in [Music] what are continuous arpeggios continuous arpeggios I'm not sure what you're talking about actually that's a continuous arpeggio they're hard to learn ellos arpeggio zone [Music] the code is RB 1:04 is the code for my for the Beato for anything 20% off in my store getting those two mini scales down is hard is a lot of them don't line or the fingers something sound like noona would play I don't know what what this [Music] but augmented schoo that's one of my lessons from the Beato Club that's a hard line [Music] it's a hard scale to play play slow doom riff all right can't really play doom on this guitar I need might pull out my model team my son [Music] which I would explain more about what I'm doing like two idiots like what though you know I'm not sure about what like right now I'm just practicing string skipping Zack why does witty Lydian work so well over chords why does it work so well over chords I tell you why because if you'd stack thirds if I go if I can straight up go go up thirds one three five seven nine sharp eleven so I'm going out root third fifth seventh ninth sharp eleven it sounds great against major seventh chords whether it's in the court or not whereas yes this note sounds good doesn't sound quite as good [Music] don't get wrapped up in music theory terms am I going to get conned yes I am I'm gonna me get conned yeah don't get wrapped up in music theory you know when I was talking with Mischa from periphery for the video yesterday um he's like well I don't you know I don't know any of the theory but what I'm doing I said so what I mean I don't think about the theory unless I'm trying to explain something to people the theory is there to convey ideas when you're not playing your instrument that's what it's good for it's I think that that it's good to know theory because you can go to places that you don't that you've never been before it you a lot of times I mean if you know a lot of stuff like when I'm doing this thing here [Music] I know what kind of progressions work well together right I know that you know so so you know so I can use music theory to think of things like that although I hear these things too because I learned by ear first that was a total ear player and then I started learning in high school about what I was playing by ear already but who is this aladar Madison a lot of people say they don't know theory they actually do and they don't realize I totally agree with that [Music] do I know the Beatles Tomorrow Never Knows of course I know the Beatles Tomorrow Never Knows I can't do the Beatles on my thing why I never talk about Pink Floyd Fabio I talked about Pink Floyd a lot you must never be on there you go I can't you do ping fool I actually am going to do a Pink Floyd video there's a couple Pink Floyd tunes I can do [Music] am i coming to Berlin soon I may come to Berlin Strato cluster but I will be in Germany on Sunday I'll be in Germany for forget Cohn in a mock no occasion but I might drive up to joy to Pearl in one day email me can I chicken pick I wouldn't show you if I could David let's see here what makes us hungry time Betty already did one favor chords using all six strings I don't know I like that I like this [Music] that's kind of a nice chord why can't you do videos on these songs but a bunch of dum-dums composed to reaction videos as long as they edit them a little bit [Music] when Germany next I'll be in Germany hole is a hole sure next week I'll be there for nine days [Music] I'm looking for somebody to the lives in Leipzig her that knows Leipzig bad food beautiful town that's not good do I do videos on finger picking patterns you know I thought about that I will be doing classes from Germany next week I thought about doing stuff like you know talking about how to play you know like you know things where you have alternate thumb [Music] [Applause] those kind of banners doesn't really work well on this guitar to know those kind of patterns like that there's a lot of really good a lot of good finger finger patterns that you should definitely know about [Music] see plenty covers apply to play Beatles uh yeah there those are people playing their versions of Beatles songs I play the exact song I'm not allowed to do videos on prints no I can't do videos on prints I can't do videos on the Beatles I can't do videos on you two on the who on Black Sabbath a lot of stuff I can't do videos on so I wish I could I really wish I could Queen can't I already did a video on Fleetwood Mac they took it down oh I was mad but you can find it here I've had three or four videos taken down my yes video here's where all my videos are so so I have Queens of the Stone Age Fleetwood Mac yes I think something else got taken down I can't remember something else definitely [Music] twelve-tone I got a video taken down he doesn't play any original recordings how is that possible I think I saw something about that and his his Twitter you know when uh when people do things when people have stuff taken down you don't it's hard to know that they have it taken down unless they post about it somewhere else I mean I make videos about stuff getting taken down so people know why can't you do videos and those bands that's a great question because they don't want people using their content you know it's just the Eagles are the worst you can't do covers of bands like the Eagles so they are so lame I would love to do eat Eagles song [Music] and I will do some John Mayer and some Mark Knopfler all right I'm out of here you guys are the best my Beato Club you can find through my website everything in my way in my store is 20% off that's how I make a living to pay for my family that's how I make a living so that I can make videos on here for you guys for free so RB 1:04 is the is a discount code here here it is again RB 104 that's only gonna be good for the next 24 hours so if you want to buy something everything's 20% off you guys are
