hi i'm marcus gaston and i've finally made it to the mogul mecca of mary jane here in winter park colorado the sun is shining the snow is flying and we're going to see how many moguls you got to smash to reach nirvana whoa [Music] you know as a kid you hear about the place that doesn't groom with the world-class moguls this is the mobile capital of the world mary jane and i was just psyched to come finally get executed since we were coming over to colorado we had to give tats a call he's one of the most fun dudes out there and ripping mogul skiers i couldn't think of a better guy to be skiing mary jane with [Music] [Music] to be at a place like this where you know the the common joke around town is groom the jane and i think that's so tongue-in-cheek because people know that that just isn't what this mountain is about that's not the essence of why the people are here moguls is what we're known for moguls is what people come to mary jane to ski and it's become a bit now of like a mecca or a pilgrimage for you know hardcore bump skiers come ski moguls at mary jane [Music] it's a one-of-a-kind place i've had the opportunity to ski all over and this is the only place you come together and find people that are this passionate about mogul skiing skiing moguls is still the hardest thing to do on any mountain a hard mobile run is like the hardest thing to do they're brutal they can kick your ass you know when you're just skiing powder and groomers all the time you forget how to ski so it's like a good reminder to come into the bumps and give yourself a good test [Music] it's constantly changing it's it's dynamic skiing at its finest you know it's like you know you want to throw your hip in the ground and jump off this bump you know something will come at you you didn't expect you know then you get a little zipper line and you it's it's everything that skiing should be in one run is mogul skiing it's everything you know it's like a puzzle every time i get in there i don't know what i'm gonna end up doing and that's i think what's more exciting about it to me than anything [Music] we're literally skiing kind of the result of people's fear right moguls build up because people make the turns and people make the turns when they're trying to control their speed and so because of that every mobile run is different it will never be the same it's this accumulation it's this accumulation of like people's skiing styles and emotions and and you gotta navigate your way through that mary jane she doesn't let up so if you can find a way to flow with her these runs as committing as they are we'll deliver [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] i was a little caught off guard when marcus invited me out to come ski with him and do some moguls because i thought they already did a mogul segment i know johnny mosley but hey i'll give it a whirl hi i'm how are we trying to like is it like serious or cheesy we're here trying to ski some bumps and we're here trying to you know i've been known to wake up from a dream or two about moguls slightly around like if you think that moguls suck it's uh you know it's not the moguls that suck [Music] it's something else [Music] you
