foreign the drawer is missing is just the front hello beautiful people welcome to another video this video is part of the ugly duckling challenge hosted by Corey from Desert DIY I'll put all the links in the description so you can check her Channel and the other participants the point of this challenge was to find something very ugly or very trashy and make it beautiful enjoy that's an easy fix foreign foreign drawer is missing all together just a front that someone just glued on interesting I'm definitely not keeping these because they're pretty awful I'm gonna have a look how easy it is to remove the paint before I decide how to do it you could probably just scrape it off but I have a new stripper that I'm gonna try this paint should be very easy to remove with the Sanders I'm just gonna try it on this piece see whatever works best so it looks like there was a dark stain originally on this veneer and then someone painted it white and then someone painted it gray and distressed it so I've sanded this piece and as you can tell there is still quite a lot of white paint in the Grain and that's the problem with Oak so I'll probably try and use a stripper and a brush to get it out but this is always a pain oh foreign foreign foreign foreign [Music] thank you [Music] foreign there's some deep scratches that I probably won't be able to remove with sanding unless I sand through the veneer so I'm just gonna use my iron and some moisture to raise the grain foreign so the bottom drawer is missing completely it's just the front and it had dovetail joints so I basically need to recreate the rest of it foreign [Music] for all of you proper Woodworkers if there are any may I just say that this was the first time ever that I tried to make a drawer and I cut that Tails so please don't judge me thank you [Music] foreign foreign [Laughter] foreign foreign yes you guys know that most of you watching my videos are not subscribers [Music] foreign [Music] foreign thank you when I was done sanding I used the attack cloth to remove the dust and I attach the legs these were the legs that I had but I decided that I didn't like them and after some digging in my drawers I found different legs that I thought were much better for this project so this is just me showing you the process for the top coat I used osmo oil in satin and I added a little bit of white tinter okay the white tinter will help me blend all the little pieces of white paint that I was not able to remove from the grain just I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you guys who use my buy me a coffee link or my Amazon wishlist I use my favorite orange scented beeswax for the drawers and then I use those old brass knobs that I removed from my piece I worked on a while back I cleaned them up with some Bar Keepers Friend and I put them on this dresser foreign neighborhood card came to check on the progress [Music] thank you so much for watching if you enjoyed this video please comment like And subscribe and check out the other videos in the link below foreign [Music]
