Resting In The Finished Works of Jesus

[Applause] amen father we thank you for this another opportunity to minister to these your precious sheep thank you Lord that revelation knowledge will flow freely uninterrupted at unhindered buying a satanic or demonic force father I pray that you will speak through my vocal cords and think through my mind none of me and all of you we give you praise for it tonight Lord we just honor you we celebrate you in every way we know how thank you lord don't even know where we would be if it were not for your grace don't wanna know thank you lord and for many here tonight I pray that you will restore the joy of their salvation our ears are anointed to hear and we will hear and we thank you for it now in Jesus name we pray and everybody said amen well turn and greet two or three of your neighbors and welcome them tonight we are we welcome our other fellowship churches tonight and and tonight we're hearing that in College Park we've been in the ministers conference all week and it's been just an amazing time amazing time praise the Lord if you have your Bibles go with me to the book of James chapter 4 in verse 14 and 15 I I think there is one word that continues to come up in this conference we need to really just bite down on and it's this word rest and there is an empowerment that comes as a result of rest and in other words you can be empowered by rest so I want to go through the scriptures once again and share some things with you that I think will be a blessing to you add to what pastor bracelet um was saying this morning that was real good in and dr. Earle they just blessed our socks off amen amazing so now I want to talk about how is it that we can be empowered by Riss I mean you know is there a way that I can really be empowered by resting versus trying to do something to be empowered and when we say trying to do something we don't mean don't do nothing but that's what I want to deal with here tonight sue I feel like practically you have to know how to put this thing together or you won't you won't practice it if you don't understand it look at what he says in James chapter 4 14 to 15 he says whereas you know not what shall be on tomorrow but for what is your life it is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then it vanishes away for that you ought to say if the Lord will we shall live and do this or do that in other words who are you to say you're going to be here or who are you to say you're going to be there we need God to guide us we need God to guide us sometimes I think we get so entice with our understanding of things and maybe even with the good ideas that come we need God first of all and we need God to guide us that's the revelation you got to get as a leader I need God to guide me say that out loud I need God to guide me now if you'll go to Jeremiah chapter 10 and in Jeremiah chapter 10 it emphasizes what we this thought that we have right now verse 23 Jeremiah chapter 10 he says Oh Lord I know that the way of man is not in himself it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps look at this now I know that the way of man is not in himself it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps and if it's not in man who walk us to direct his steps then the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord then I think we need to pause every now and then and make sure that God's directing our steps make sure that we're not moving by good ideas that are not God's idea it's not in me to know my way except he tell me and once you begin to realize that you become extremely dependent on him and that's the key word to depend on him God wants to be depended on God wants to be trusted and when we find ourselves depending on him and we become more God depended versus being self dependent that's when you're gonna find that you're gonna always end up in the right place because you're trusting in him like a barefooted priest and when you operate as a barefoot if priest you become very sensitive to the steps that you take you don't just take any steps you're not just imitating somebody step you're you're not just marrying methods what you're doing is Lord I need your directions I depend on you now imagine a life that is lived in total dependence upon God these are just not words that I'm articulating in in a religious setting I'm telling you this is the key to you fulfilling successfully that which God has called you to fulfill and that is well I submit myself as a humble man or woman to depend on him and you find yourself confronted with all kinds of things and you go automatically to him I depend on God you get a report from a doctor I depend on God you look at the budget I depend on God you look at situations I depend on God and I'm gonna tell you something he loves love's loves to be dependent on I'm in so for man to try to improve himself by his own efforts it's like improving yourself from being a mouse to a rat you're still on the same level because you cannot produce the God kind of results unless God is working you cannot produce God kind of results unless God is working and unless you're dependent on him you can only produce mankind's a result because you are working if God is working for you and if God is working through you then it'll be God kind of results but people who are confident don't forget that word people who are confident in themselves and not God only last for so long and then you end up in failure I'm gonna say it again we need God and we need to let God know that we need him and we need to understand that if we do not rest God will not work but if we will rest God will work and if you do if you want God to work for you then you're gonna have to learn how to rest and that means that you can't be working if you want God to work he's not gonna compete with you you need God and that's that's something you take AB and meditate on that all day long I need God I depend on him okay somebody says well you know all right so get to the good stuff I could go right now and this will take you through the rest of your life sometimes that's that's the issue sometimes we we neglect the simple to try to get something complex that you don't understand anyway and tonight you can go home with this on your mind I have to depend on God now I want to show you some scriptures I think is it's it's it's good to see this before I get started if you'll look at Deuteronomy chapter 6 I just want to show you a couple of them well look at look at Joshua 24 first and then Deuteronomy 6 and and we'll move into this tonight I really really am NOT trying to be careful tonight tonight I think we'll go ahead and start radical tonight TAF is gonna get real radical tomorrow and Mike Smith's gonna get real radical so we might as well just start radical Deuteronomy chapter 6 and look at verse 10 and it shall be when the lord thy god shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy father's Abraham to Isaac to Jacob to give the great and goodly cities which thou build us not and I notice he's talking about giving them goodly cities which they didn't build and houses full of all good things which thou fill is not and Wells digged which thou dig it's not vineyards and olive trees which thou planets not and when thou shalt have eaten and are full he said the only thing I want you to do is be aware that you don't forget the Lord now notice what he said for those of us who think God needs you he says I can give you cities you didn't bill I give you houses full of all good things and you didn't feel it I can give you whales that are already big and you didn't dig them vineyards and olive trees you didn't plant them my goodness and then in Johnson which after 24 verse 13 flip over there verse 13 says and I have given you land for which you did not labor I gave you land for which you did not labor and cities which you built not and ye dwell in them of the vineyards and the olive trees which you planted not do you eat not do not do you eat and I notice again he said I gave you something without your labor you got it and your labor wasn't responsible for you getting it I did it without your labor and yet you see people of faith that are always laboring to try to get something and God says I don't need you to be who I am you need me to be who you are I can do stuff without your labor to get that thing I need you to labor in one area I need you to rest so as you heard this morning rest is not inactivity it's not rest from work but rest in work it's resting while you are working this is what God wants he has not created us to operate out of stress he has not created us to operate out of worry he has not created us to operate out of care he's created us to operate out of rest now I want to go to Hebrews chapter 4 Hebrews chapter 4 and and to really really get a hold of this you have to really see what the scripture is really talking about here I you know I'm like every other preacher I'd like to get to the big part but I can't stand getting to the big part and notice that we didn't cover all the little roads to get there you know so if you had to back up and try to figure out how to get yourself you don't you don't know do that so I've learned over the years to just be cool and and I and I love people who can tell stories like pastor Earle and and Pastor Mike because they can really bring us into a point and I thank God for the different Grace's and the different gifts to do what needs to be done but one of my graces is and my conviction was this years ago I just feel like I got to show you where it is in the Bible so you don't get it home and talk about it with somebody else's opinion so when you try to talk to yourself out of it I want you to know oh he showed us that Scripture so we're gonna we're gonna move into about 30 minutes of reading and you know that you're on TV the guy he's on ready read and the Lord said and the Lord said be not confronted be not confronting you see that work come from it in that right alright verse 1 let us therefore fear now this word fear it is not a fright he is literally translated let's be cautious let's be aware let's be diligent let's be cautious aware and diligent less the promise being left us and this promise of entering into his risk that any of you should seem to come short of it so let's be cautious let's be aware and let's be diligent here for unto us was the gospel preached now the gospel is the gospel of grace when you when you see this word you know you would think why would you have to describe that you really have to describe that because I thought that the gospel had been preached all over the world and people just use the word gospel and we assume Greg that everybody knows what gospel is and if you don't understand what the gospel is the grace of God and you're saying well are you making that the gospel is literally it wasn't a word that was used a lot in Paul's day and so when he used this word it was strange it was it was it was almost too good to be true news but it was true and the word gospel was used but what was it what was the news that was that was almost too good to be true about the grace of God yeah looking at me go to acts 20 verse 24 hold your place there in Hebrews go to acts 20 and 24 notice in verse 24 but none of these things move me neither count out my life dear unto myself so that I might finish my course with joy and the Ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus to testify the gospel what gospel of the grace of God the gospel what gospel of the grace of God then in Galatians chapter 1 see Paul called it the gospel and command Paul began to preach the gospel so in order for you to be in line with the gospel you know you can't say you're preaching the gospel and not be preaching what Paul preached you just can't decide what I'm preaching the gospel well are you preaching what Paul preached no well you're not preaching the gospel because Paul preached the grace of God which he was called to now look at Galatians and verse 3 chapter 1 verse 3 grace be to you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ who gave him who gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from the present evil world according to the will of God and our Father to whom be glory for ever and ever amen I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel implying that the grace of Christ was one gospel and then is there another gospel well he answers that question he says which is not another but there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ notice he calls it the grace of Christ then he calls it the verse 7 the gospel of Christ what you just read those two scriptures there ladies and gentlemen see that the gospel of Christ is the grace of Christ there's not another gospel there's nothing there's not a gospel of healing there's not a gospel of prosperity there's only one gospel it is the gospel of grace and by grace everything else is made available see prosperity came as a result of his unmerited favor healing is a result of his unmerited favor power is a result of his unmerited favor it's a lot of people try to define grace as power grace is not power but power flows from grace are you hearing what I'm saying so I submit to you that the gospel is the grace of Christ or the gospel is this good news it's almost too good to be true news that Paul preached that is the gospel so when he said go ye into all the world and preach the gospel guess what he was talking about go into all the world and preach the grace of Christ go preach this unmerited undeserved favor to all the world hmm now let me see what we now go back to Hebrews I got two nights to finish this so we'll work on it tonight and work on it tomorrow don't finish it tomorrow we'll finish the next year I know you still rushing you don't know when Jesus gonna come back so you don't want to preach out all your stuff just just okay so he says for unto us was this this gospel this this grace of Christ preached as well as unto them but though the word now I know what where he's talking about the word of grace the word preached because if I don't hear the gospel of grace I can't find no rest without the gospel the grace all I'm gonna do is is is struggle and perform and work trying to get something to happen I have to hear this word that Paul preached and he said he said that that this word preached as well as unto them but the word preached did not profit them not being mixed with faith in them that heard it the gospel being reach saying your healings already done but there was no profit because I didn't know how to lay hold of what was already known this deliverance that has already been done because of his B's unmerited favor but there was no profit or manifestation in your life because I didn't know how to lay hold of what grace had promised so the word of grace was preached but there was no profit because those that heard the word of grace didn't mix it with faith so that they can experience the word of grace and grace is not a curriculum grace is not just the subject matter grace is a person John chapter 1 verse 14 the Jesus full of grace and truth and we've got to get our eyes on Jesus it's got to be all about Jesus it's got to be all about Jesus it can't be listen listen I respect principles I don't have any problems with him but it's just the person it's my whole life somebody says well well how do I see holding it's just by beholding him just by beholding him I'm changed I'm changed from glory to glory because I can behold Jesus what's this for we which have believed do enter into rest I'll say this right here the place of rest is the highest when you operate in rest that's the highest faith you can operate in I'll say it like this rest and worship it's the highest place you can be because once you enter into a place of rest knowing that it's already been done there's nothing there's nothing to do at that place except worship God and thank God now for we which have believed do enter to the rest as he said as I have sworn in my wrath if they shall enter into my rest although the works finish from the foundations of the world he says you can enter to my rest but the works have been finished the works are finished so I'm resting in the finished works I'm resting in the finished works I'm resting in the finished works I'm resting in the finished work set that bothered me because I couldn't see that I'm I'm trying to see there's something missing there I'm resting in the finished works I'm resting in the finished works Anthony come in I'm resting I'm resting in the finish works now think about something now if I'm done arrested in the finished work Healing is the finished work I was healed 2,000 years ago John come here deliverance is the finished work I was deliberate 2,000 years ago it's finished prosperity is a finished work I'm not trying to get God to prosper me now he did it 2,000 years ago soundness is the finished work it's done it's like done it's finished now some Christians may ask if it's done and if it's finished how come and got none because you can't receive what's finished out of stress out of care I don't worry you can only receive the manifestation out of rest when you rest that's when you see God's best when you rest that's when it manifests but now here's the point I'm not gonna rest in something I don't have confidence in you're asking me to rest in something I don't have confidence in all right so here's John and here's Anthony all right now I've been knowing him all his life let's just say I've been knowing John a lot but let's just say I just met John an hour ago han spent no time with John so me just depending on John to catch me when I fall back it'll happen I don't know him now it's not to say that he's not capable of doing it I just don't have no confidence in whatever capabilities he has just like you may have confidence in God to heal you but you may not have confidence in God to prosper you but the same God that can heal you is also the same one that prospered you but it's not it's not God the reason why you ain't got it it's the level of your confidence now knowing him all my life I don't even have to tell him to get ready I just you know boy that took too long [Laughter] let's see watch out now cousin something like that happen it scarves my confidence but when you're confident you just you know let's head out because you're confident you don't even have to think about it you're confident now he can do the same thing Hunter stole Noah fun what's this trust him [Applause] can we spending time together now right he can do this thing it's not me scene all right now his hands what Headley stay without and eventually by spending that time maybe a little awkward the first time but ok I'll help myself up a little bit ok I still hear myself up that was a little deep right down ok I'm developing confidence I'm developing confidence and eventually that's gonna say that same thing same thing [Applause] normally your everybody how 200 who did what about that boy you don't know what he said you know thank you guys if if you don't understand how vital your confidence is we're taking rest then you'll take what you heard about risk and there'll be this little blank spot in your mind that says yeah but how do I get to that place nobody said in Hebrews chapter 10 I'll be back to have a look at this Hebrews 10 36 I believe Hebrews 10 36 go back to verse 35 let's start there 35 y'all sleep back there okay cats not away therefore you're what because your confidence has a great recompense we don't use that word recompense most of the day we use the word compensation your confidence has a compensation your confidence has a compensation don't cast away your confidence because your confidence is what's going to escort you into that place of rest and that place of rest is gonna put you in a position to receive what's already been done so what do I need so I don't cast away my confidence what is necessary so I don't get rid of my confidence that brings me into my rest that positions me to receive the finished works of Jesus Christ in my life well the next verse tells you verse 36 you have need of patience you have need of patience you have need of patience you have need of patience financing to me patience does not mean to put up with patience means to be consistently constantly the same about the thing you have confidence about you're in need of patience I am constantly consistently the same about what I have I have I'm consistently constantly the same about what I have confidence on now I employ patience I employ patience to maintain my confidence or faith I employ patience to maintain my confidence or faith so that my faith will stay working long enough to produce a harvest now listen to me carefully now I understand all that stuff about just look at Jesus and everything will be alright but I need to understand how to function and what Jesus said and do I totally agree with it but now look at James chapter one let me show you something here James chapter one verse two praise God my brother and count it all joy all right when do I count it all joy when you fall into tough times well what's joy verse three knowing this so joy is not happiness joy will produce happening but joy is not happiness joy comes from what you know in other words if the doctor says you're sick then you know that with this stripes you're healed it's a finished works of Jesus Christ I can have joy and if you'll stage awful long enough it'll make you happy but joy doesn't come by comfort joy comes about what you know it's time to know some things they men knowing this that the trying of your faith does what work is patience now for years I have heard people say that you know the trying of your faith will produce patience that's not what it means work it if if the trials of our faith produce patience we would be the most patient people on the planet this word worketh gives the picture of employing the trying at the track when your faith is being tried employ or hire patience hire patience so that your your confidence and your faith will will remain at work and so you can see the manifestation of what's already finished now over the years people have blamed their lack of manifestation on their faith you've blamed it on the quality of your faith and the quantity of your faith in other words do I have enough faith and the faith I have is it good enough the problem you don't have a faith problem fell out the problem is not with your faith you again I was one of the speakers shared it about when when of the disciples Jean and Jesus was talking he says if you brother you know sinned against you seven times seven times you can give him they said Lord increase our faith and he was like no dudes that's not what you need all you need is faith the size of a mustard seed the problem is not a faith problem it's a youth problem what do I mean by that it's not that faith failed it is you took it off the job you didn't give it an opportunity to remain at work yeah you just needed to keep it at work in that same chapter where he talked about if you have faith the size of must see he goes on and use a parable about a serpent who about a master who had a servant in the field and it was time to come off the field he said you don't call your servant off the field he continues to work you don't tell him you know sit down and take a break and and chill with me no you're not completely satisfied yet he stays at work so likewise your faith should remain at work this idea of oh I'm grace people so let's not talk about faith anymore that's error we walk by faith and not by sight the just shall live by faith we have the faith of Jesus Christ and you have access into this grace by the faith of God you just have to balance faith and grace together you can't let faith take you over here to legalism where now it becomes you know fleshy and now all of a sudden you're you're thinking you can make God do something I'm gonna I'm gonna shout hallelujah a thousand times and make God do something with my faith if grace hadn't already made it faith can't make it because faith is supposed to after ahend what grace has already made let me use another terminology if Jesus hadn't already provided it you wouldn't you wouldn't they can't get it faith is made available to help you to take possession of what has already been made available somebody said well you know praise God my faith moves God no no God don't need your faith to move him because I can move all by himself your faith moves you it moves you in a position to receive from what God has already done you see right now your heads like wait a minute no but but I heard I heard I heard no no faith comes by hearing what you heard you need to examine improper balance with some things you hadn't known before we have been legalistic in our faith life we have and that legalism led us to error and it led people to say this is not working because they didn't have trust in what Jesus has already done they spent their time trying to make thee jesus do something else Jesus has already done it you can't make him do that he's already done it what you do is take what he's already made grace you're saved by but faith you get it through the faith of God so there's a place for faith I'm meeting a lot of preachers who are saying oh my god I'm glad I heard you say that because I thought I had to just throw all my faith teachings away well you promised NT throw some of them away but you still live by faith you still live by faith and so the problem is you remember when this is a good an example the I think it was Peter who looked at Jesus and and and Jesus was walking on the water and they thought it was a phantom or ghost walking around and and and and and Peter said lord if it's you if it's really you then then bid me to come he put Jesus back against the wall there was no other way he could respond except to say calm why cause it be me so he said come now watch this man his faith working then look at who he's watching he's looking at Jesus oh that's my faith right there he's looking at Jesus man and he's walking on the water now watch what happens now his face working he's looking at Jesus he's walking on the water he's looking at Jesus he's walking on the water and then he feels some wind and then the waist aren't beating and he gets his eyes off Jesus and then he sinks then Jesus comes and picks him up and they walk together back to the boat that's a perfect picture of how we're gonna be delivered from the law self-effort to being delivered by Jesus where we depend on him to take us through everything we go through we depend on him to take us through everything we go through and I watch this so what was the issue there was the issue because Peter had weak faith are you kidding me that was awesome faith that was a dynamic faith I mean when's the last time you walked on water that's awesome I mean anyways at least I've tried when nobody was around I was imagining Moses music was playing wind blowing there we go and we go up in a walk on water blue he walked on water a man was walking on water so what he had it wasn't because he had weak faith and someone says well that's what the scripture says well dig in there a little deeper I dug into that phrase a little deeper and here's what it said haha why why is it the church that you you had a short burst of faith you had a burst of energy but it didn't last long same thing here a short burst of faith but it didn't last long faith wouldn't Kemp I didn't feel working it should have stayed out there so I can continue to work you're gonna leave your faith out in the field and you gotta leave and someone says well it's been out there for two years don't give it rest until you are absolutely satisfied you're not keeping it out in the field and taking it off based on what you you shame that somebody gonna tell you where your show your face show taking a long time you don't understand I got a big house my faith been working the last two years to build a foundation what are you talking about see we always got that microwave thing I want it now I want to I want it now no I want to make sure that Wow my faith is working what am i doing I'm developing a relationship with Jesus I'm gonna know him better after this thing is all over way you understand what I'm saying now okay go back to Hebrews one take a rabbit trail we take a rabbit trail huh Hebrews four I know what's this for he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise and God did rest the seventh day from all his works now it's interesting that right in up into this he brings up the seventh day God rested on the seventh day not because he was tired you've heard that but because he was what finished but the seventh day also brings up another issue of the Sabbath and many people are still looking at the Sabbath as a day and they've not gotten the full picture of what this is about let me show you the shadow of the Sabbath in Exodus chapter 20 verses 8 through 11 the shadow of the Sabbath Exodus 20 you know and around here I take my time teaching series sometimes I take two months to preach the series but after I finish the series I want to make sure that we have a well-developed and well-trained church so that they cannot be duped by religious people so I don't mind doing it I'm saying the leaders and preachers don't be afraid of the quiet let the quiet confirm for you that they're listening if you always preach in just to get a shout you gonna miss yourself up one day because the devil can shout a hit dog a shout the loudest sometimes I thank God when it's quiet because I know you listen if somebody says well how you know I listen I could be sleep well if you sleep you missing it out you missing out on and on that's your business but if you're listening you're getting a hold of something you're getting a connection that connects to something else that connects to something else and what happens you end up getting the whole picture that you can see and look at now look at this here's the picture of the Sabbath Exodus 20 verses 8 I'm gonna read through just 11 so you can see this remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy six days shalt thou labor and do all that work but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God in it thou shalt not do any work thou nor thy sons nor daughters nor thy maidservant sir in service may service nor the cattle nor the stranger that is within thy gates for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth to see all that is in them is and rested the seventh day wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it now if you don't know how to make a distinction between law and grace you will take this shadow over into the New Covenant and you'll start preaching it to New Testament Christians because we've not made the proper adjustment to rightly divide the word you have to understand how important it is to divide the word between the law and grace between what happened before the cross and after the cross if you fail to do that you're gonna be teaching error and all of a sudden you take an Old Covenant principle and requirement before the crops and you teach it to New Testament church without considering that requirement has changed as a result of after the cross so if you don't read every scripture and ask yourself is that before the cross or after the cross you can find yourself deeply in error and getting on a revelation that you think is a revelation but it's a revelation of destruction in the minds of those who are hearing it and so this is the Sabbath seventh-day before Jesus died on the cross this is a shadow of the real that's gonna show up in the New Covenant and so now let's go over to the New Covenant see that Colossians chapter 2 16 Colossians 2:16 this is so so important because and I'll tell you something you if we rightly divide the word of truth lives can change but boy if we do it wrong we could put a lot of things in jeopardy Colossians chapter 2 verse 16 look at this let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect answer that phone tell them you busy drink or in respect of a holyday or of the new moon or of the Sabbath days now look what he just said or of the Sabbath days which are a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ so Christ is the real that's responsible for that shadow that's a shadow of Christ the Sabbath the Sabbath it represents rest ultimately it says in Christ we depend in other words I find my rest in Christ he is my Sabbath he is my source jesus is my source Jesus is my Sabbath not a day but a person the Sabbath is no longer a day but a person she said that Jesus is my Sabbath Jesus is my rest jesus is my source don't ever look at Sabbath and then refer to it as a day that was just a shadow but illustration if you will of what it would be like when Jesus shows up like God rested on the seventh day from all of his works because it was finished you likewise rest in Jesus because it is finished did you see that now let's go back to Hebrews see teachers are worried Eli my line precept by precept go hook this over the years do that's over that's not like that a preacher could finish this message in 25 minutes and it would be accurate and it would be good I love what God called you to do and you'll never have any need to try to be like something else just be you I don't go on somebody invite me something witty preaching and I go and try to act like somebody else you knew like you knew what I was like for you invited me you knew I was gonna turn to scriptures you knew I was gonna read the word you knew I was gonna walk around and just talk and do you knew that for ain't no need of me trying to acts on more the kind of way you knew that you knew it so hang gonna be feeling better if you put me up at 10 you know 10 minutes ain't gonna do it now if you want me to do timmons I'll do 10 minutes and leave you hanging like you ain't never been left hanging the boat but you knew that so I'm blessed when I do when I do meetings overseas I asked the guys I said how do y'all have meetings and they go through all of the formalities and stuff like that you know when I'm at your church I asked him I said let's do this I said y'all sang the song and then pick me up put me up first and let me preach cuz I'm gonna take about an hour and then y'all gonna do all that other stuff after I finish y'all gonna sing give gifts shake hands acknowledge folks do all that stuff cause the teacher we don't need to get up when everybody tired my wife was in Paris one time and I was calling her and I like have you preached she said no I said how long you been now see about two three hours what time is it she said I still ain't preach it I said leave just go she said no I can't do that would be rude I said be rude leave that's a long time I said besides they nobody gonna be paying you no attention anyway at 12 o'clock you know I'm glad to be able to have said what I just said I didn't want to say that for a long time I got your breath I got your back guys we weep we like that we need the time to hook our stuff up right I know watch this okay I got ten minutes okay verse five and in this place again if they shall enter into my wrists sing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein and they to whom it was first preached entered not in they didn't enter in because of unbelief they didn't enter in because of unbelief I'm still stressing I'm worried and I'm full of hair why I just can't believe that I can get something by doing nothing boy that's a big issue right now I just can't believe that Jesus is gonna do something for me would I be doing something to earn it what do you think Christmas is all about you're always giving the gifts to people who don't deserve it and they always saying especially when it's an expensive gifts oh you know I don't deserve this and on the inside you think yeah I know you know but it's a gift what makes it a gift is it's not based on whether you deserve it or not it's undeserved love and favor praise God and that's what this grace is about but I don't believe it enough to stop the unbelief unbelief all day long I'm stressed over this I don't trust I don't depend on God I I don't really know if God will do this oh oh dear God yeah Lord I know I'm just a worried person but I can't help but to worry you you need to understand what you're doing there it's not just that simple that that God's asked you to come in to arrest and you just won't do it or God's asking you to cast all your cares but you just won't do it and you just satisfied with just not doing what he's asking you to do first of all that's called pride secondly you fall from grace and put yourself on the outside of finding Grace when you continue to try to go back to your performance let me show you something real good Galatians five and fourth Galatians chapter five and four in Galatians five and four says Christ has become of no effect unto you how do you know you don't ever want to live life and know that Christ has no effect in your life he has no effect in your finances has no effect on your sick body has no effect in messed up relationships Christ has no effect under you under who whosoever of you are justified by the law what does that mean to be justified by the law the word justified means to be declared righteous so if you're going to be declared righteous by the law that means you have to work in order to earn justification or righteousness see there is the righteousness by works and then there's righteousness by faith righteousness by works is you performing and you doing something to deserve righteousness righteousness by faith is everything Jesus has already done and you believe it so on one hand you're performing to try to make it happen on the other hand you're believing to receive what's already happened so he says that Christ has no effect in your life if you fall back into performance if you fall back into self effort and performance trying to trying to do something to get healed trying to do something to prosper trying to do something to get what's finished you're trying to finish what's finished when you try to finish what's finished the Bible says look what he says Christ has no effect I don't want Christ to be in a position where you don't have no effect in my life but if I get myself in the place where I'm depending on my performance I am now self dependent versus God dependent then Christ will have no effect in my life and what is he called it he says you have fallen from grace fall from grace doesn't mean fall into sin in fact when you fall into sin it's God's grace that brings you up out of that fall from grace means falling back into your performance falling back into yourself effort falling back into self dependence versus being dependent upon dawn and Christ has no effect in your life I know what's this somebody says well how come Christ don't have any effect in your life if you asked most Christians they will say brother it's because of sin it's said Christ has no effect because of the sins sin well if that's the case how come Christ had effect in the lives of mostly all those people he came in contact to in the New Testament and none of them were Christians because he had not yet died and shed his blood on the cross and they all had sin but Christ had effect in their life why was Christ able to have thickness they believed him they trusted in him Christ didn't have affect in the lives of the New Testament church right now because under the law it's all about you doing something to get something under the law it's all about you trying to meet demands in order to deserve something and you know when you do something to try to deserve something that's not called a favor that's called favoritism and that stinks with self effort and performance first time I heard that I thought well dear God what do I do hmm do I just do nothing no absolutely not that's not what saying not doing anything here's what I do I release my faith to lay hold on what Jesus has done I believe there's a lot involved in believing if I trust and believe you can see a practical side of it trust in the Lord with all your heart watch this don't lean to your own understanding so I'm making sure all day long I'm not leaning to my own understanding when you're trusting God there's certain certain things you're gonna hear out your mouth when you're trusting God when you're trusting God you can see trust people begin to demonstrate it you can see faith and confidence in the lives of people belief is not void of effort you're gonna see things happen as a result of your trust but the major thing you will see as a result of your trust is rest I do what I have to do but I'm not worried about nothing I'll go to church but I'm not worried about nothing I prepare a message I'm getting ready to preach it you're not supposed to preach in stress trying to figure all my god how's this missions gonna go you study all you can study and then when it's time to let her rip I'm trusting that God is gonna say what he needs to say and and you're probably not gonna you know you're gonna miss this line they missed that line you're gonna go home oh man I should have said that old man I shoulda said oh I wish would have said that forget that either God is over this thing and you're gonna let him do what he needs to do or you're gonna be over it you're gonna be over it I got to tell you right now this is not what's written on my paper okay last night was not the design sermon for what I wanted to do I share certain things and then I'm just like I you have to allow the Spirit of God to take your time of study and the time you you have to make sure you're not spending more time preparing the message and not enough time preparing the messenger and then sometimes you just feel like okay I'll be honest sometimes you just feel like you know what dear God I'm just missing the whole thing and what's making you feel like that because you're not getting the response you want to get that's why you got a divorce yourself away from the response and you've got to marry the Spirit of God and allow him to just let you move and say what needs to be moved and said you never know how you can come up and say something you think it was nothing and then it changed somebody's alive and sometimes it's difficult to preach at conferences like this because you got so much going on and tonight you know we got other churches in we got some of you from Bible study to decide to come and you got all kinds of stuff going on so you you have to just allow the Spirit of God it doesn't mean not to prepare there I'm saying it doesn't see to rest in in ministering doesn't mean I'm not gonna prepare and I'm not gonna study I'm good I'm just what you're doing I'm just resting wait to go preach online I'm resting it's not inactivity what it is is I'm studying and I'm doing due diligence but I ain't worrying about none of this it'll be just fine and what I don't get to share in the next 57 seconds I'll be able to pick it up and share it tomorrow and do what needs to be done I understand what I'm saying resting means without the stress without the care without the worry but what's this without the unbelief whatever you consider the most that's what you're gonna do whatever you focus on the most that's what you're gonna empower yourself to do so ask God lord help me not to focus on things that will hurt me so that I can spend time focusing on things that would help me but this whole issue of just religion all all the religions of the world demand that you meet a requirement before you get anything from God but Christianity was never supposed to be a religion it was supposed to be a relationship with God it was a supposed to be a relationship where you can depend on him and lean on him and in the Old Covenant under the law it was about you serving God but under the covenant of grace is about God serving you he's putting the apron on and saying what can I do for you and my time is all up we'll pick up with this tomorrow every hit bow father I thank you for what was ministered and that it will find the perfect place in the lives of those who heard it we give you praise for it now in Jesus name if you got anything out of that lift your hands up and give God Thanksgiving just making it no clapping just thank you just thanking just simply thinking thank you it's just something about thanking him that just makes you whole I believe thank you lord thank you for what I heard thank you for what winning my heart Lord I give you praise in Jesus name Amen now give the Lord a big hand for you to understand that if you can be trusted with the least in the kingdom money is the least in the kingdom and if you can be trusted with the least in the kingdom of God then God will allow you to see what happens when you put your trust in too much money's the least can you prove to yourself you can trust God with the least until you can do that you'll just walk in deception thinking you can trust God for the much you just walk into something you can trust God to do this to do that can you trust God with the lease that's money and if you can do that and find great joy in trusting God with the lease you can see all kinds of things open up in your life all kinds of things so father we just thank you we thank you so much for this conference we thank you so much for what you're doing in the lives of of people we think here that our pastors and our leaders are learning how to enter into a wrist not inactivity but Lord our confidence and what you've already done a trust in the finished works of Jesus Christ I trust in you yeah thank you Jesus holy offerings up at this time if you're not other locations you do the same thing and join us here father this is our trust we so honor you with it we praise you Lord and we thank you for the opportunity for us again to prove to ourselves that we can trust you and to trust you with the least in the kingdom is money and Lord may your grace explode in the lives of these precious people in every way and we're honored to be able to so this see tonight in Jesus name and everybody said amen let's just go ahead and receive this offering tonight and as you give tonight I want you to think about I want you to think about it be very clear on where you are with Jesus tonight if you've never met Jesus and you've never made him your Lord and personal Savior I want you to do that tonight I don't believe you showed up the Bible study wherever you are tonight I don't believe you did that for just you know out of accident I believe God led you there for a reason and I believe what you heard tonight can get you on the path of receiving all that grace has made available to you Jesus has made everything you'll ever need in life available and he wants you walking in it but he wants you dependent on him not as a requirement but he he wants to be the source of everything he wants to be the source of your entire life he wants to minister his love to you so that the same way he ministered his love to you you can minister that love to somebody else you don't have to go out of here shameful you don't have to go out of here and guilty you don't have to go out of here full of condemnation you can walk out free because of what Jesus has already done for you so if you're here or at the sound of my voice when I asked everybody stand if you'd like prayer tonight we would love love love love to pray with you and so I'm gonna ask the congregation in just a moment and where you are they're gonna stand up and just turn around and check with you and ask if you're born again if you'd like to be and ask you if you've ever received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence speaking in tongues we want to give you that grace gift and then last but not least are you interested in becoming a member of this church wherever you are tonight and you just simply respond I believe altar call is the opportunity to respond if needed to be I believe it's a place where you can become intimate with God and your issue and see God do a mighty work in your life amen so we praise Him we thank God for it and at this time
