Rescue dog rescues owner 🐾 // FEEL GOOD ep.3

nothing warms me up more than reading success stories about rescue dogs finding their forever homes and today i'm bringing you one of those amazing stories about a good girl that goes by the name of sadie who saved her owner's life just months after adoption sadie was placed in a shelter at the age of six after her owners moved to a place where they didn't allow dangerous breeds like pitties and shepherds that is extremely common practice for landlords to prohibit what they call dangerous breeds in most cases people deserve their dogs at a random parking lot side of the road or surrender them to shelters and that is the destiny that awaited this six-year-old girl because she was very shy and nervous around new people it was a bit difficult finding her a new home she was especially nervous around men and didn't really trust them when they approached her until brian came along who bonded with the pooch after only 10 minutes he brought her home and she instantly behaved like she's always been living there she wouldn't jump on the bed until given a permission and when she got one she grabbed her toys and snuggled up beside her new owner brian says i was able to work through the issues she had and committed to giving her home and love she deserved it was the best decision i could have made because she is amazingly loving and my best friend then one of the nights unexpectedly he had a stroke in his sleep he got up but collapsed immediately not being able to move sadie ran to him and started licking his face as a way of letting him know she's there as he lifted his arm to pet her he grabbed her collar and realized he could use her to pull himself up long enough to call for help it was almost as if she knew exactly what he was trying to do because she started backing off and assisting in pulling him up out of the corner where he fell to a spot where he could call for help it was thanks to her that he is alive right now eager to return home to her i miss her tremendously i can't wait to see her give her a hug and a kiss and i'll probably clear my eyes out doing something in the meantime they facetime via his brother's phone so they can stay in touch the story quickly went viral after the shelter where sadie was adopted from shared the news with their followers in attempt to encourage people to give rescue dogs a second chance especially those who aren't puppies anymore a funding page was created to help with sadie's future cost as brian developed a speech impairment and paralyzed left side of body which put him in disability for life i will link that and some other resources in the description below and i highly encourage you to adopt not shop [Music] 25 of all the animals entering shelters are pure breeds that is approximately 450 000 purebred dogs in u.s shelters every year many of them are pit bulls and german shepherds who never make it out of the shelter alive it is very important to be familiar with the breed if you do decide to purchase a dog it happens more often than you'd ever imagine that the reason many people surrender dogs to the shelter is because they weren't aware of how big they will actually get and how much they will eat give one of those dogs a second chance the endless gratitude in their eyes is the most precious thing i've seen to this day just take a stroll in your local shelter i promise you one visit will change your entire perception thank you for listening and please consider checking out the links i left in the description below and i wish brian and sadie the best of luck in the world you
