hey guys so i just wanted to make a real quick video to give you a tip on removing stuck control arm bolts so this is a 99 lexus sc 300 and i'm replacing both of the front lower control arms on it going after market since uh these control arms were extremely like the bushings in them were extremely loose so i couldn't even get an alignment on it but this car being about 22 years old this rear bolt back here you can see the the head of the bolt right there this bolt was completely stuck inside the bushing and the thing that makes it so hard is that on most cars you've got a rubber bushing inside of this control arm here so if that bolt is seized in there you'll be able to rotate the bolt but you will not be able to pull it out and that's exactly what was happening to me so after trying an air hammer trying pb blaster wd-40 i tried a torch tried hammering on it for literally a couple hours and none of that was working so then i tried using a sawzall and this is just a just a pretty basic one from harbor freight but it's pretty solid i think this thing cost me like 20 bucks um but i was i was cutting on it with some of these blades and it's got these ones that it says for thick metal and i also tried blades for bi-metal well i ran through about 10 of those blades trying to cut through this bolt and finally there was one blade that really did the trick i looked on some forums i did a little investigating online and found that a lot of people swore by these diablo blades and it totally sounds like some kind of ad for diablo but i'm not even joking i just did what it took me 10 other blades took 10 other of these blades to do what this one just did in less than a minute not even joking i cut halfway through this bolt with 10 other blades and they're completely worn down to the point where they weren't even working and then i just put this diablo blade on here with the carbide tip and you can see those teeth are actually the teeth honestly look still perfectly fine now the paint of course is worn off from rubbing on the side there but the teeth look pretty damn good and it cuts so quick it felt like cutting through butter after using those other blades so if you're in the same situation you have no choice but to just remove the bolt you know you'll have to cut it on both the the back and the front side of where it goes through that control arm where it goes through that bushing but man this is the way to do it i mean it just cut right through that thing so easily so anyway don't want to make this video too long but do yourself a favor just invest in these blades again they're they're the diablo these ones are yeah thick metal they've got different lengths of them too i just i only needed the shorter one because there's not much room back in there anyway so the six inch blade did the trick i know milwaukee also makes a similar blade that's carbide tipped it makes similar claims about lasting like 50 times longer i heard that those wear out a little bit quicker so i just decided to go ahead and go for the big dog here it was uh 30 bucks for a three pack at home depot which really is not bad and the amount of time and blood sweat and tears it saved me was completely worth it so anyway there you go that's how to remove stuck swing arm bolts if you're in a pinch good luck guys
