hey guys the video today has to do with the unfilled 3006 and reloader 17 I finally have worked up a load that is very satisfactory it is 53 grains of reloader 17 and a 168 grain match king that is one and a quarter of an inch at a hundred yards 53 grains 53 foot 5 it began to open up and 54 still pretty big groups there well we're gonna be doing 53 grains for our accuracy load but interestingly enough part of the what this video is as I started at 55 grains and I was getting primers that were rupturing at 55 grains and I might need to just take a look at the load data from Hornady what I've run through my Enfield so far are the Hornady Aldi's the factory 178 graders they group at about 3 inches I did some hand load starting out using 168 match Kings 55 grains of reloader 17 I was giving me about a three and three-quarter inch group but it was a high charge I was blowing the primers and I didn't know why because in the Hornady manual I won't try to zoom in on that because it's just not gonna pick it up but they have a maximum charge of fifty nine point two grains for a 168 grain hotel hollow point match this is their 10th edition so this is regarding Alliance for loader 17 I looked at that fifty nine point two and I said for a starting load what I would do is I would go down to 55 grains which lasts and I would start there cuz I didn't want a velocity that was below 308 I mean what's the sense of 3006 if you don't get it to perform but look at the velocity here they have 2950 that's honking but I was way down from that at 55 and I was blowing primers so I got home and I started looking and in the burger manual they have a maximum charge with the 3006 one minute please of 54.4 grains that's almost five grains less it's actually 4.8 grains less my math isn't correct I apologize but I think that's what it is it's extremely different and that spread is probably the maximum I've seen in recent time had I gone and canvassed all of my different books but in this particular case I just figured I'd use the Hornady data so where are we at today well I like reloader 17 because you can get outstanding velocities out of it this is a nice 338 lap of brand-new case box that they send and I've got my 3006 is in here and what we're gonna do is I'm gonna do some low development using that reloader 17 but I'm going down to more reasonable charge weights which is 53 grains these are all with 168 matchking so I got 53 53 5 and 50 for grains you know is aiming I was aiming at the pink target 53 grains of motor 17 that's the way the primers are supposed to look at 53 grains I don't see any type of flowing into the bottom of the case or anything like that so 53 grains looks like it's a pretty decent load this is fifty three point five grains reloader 17 on the 53.5 I held a little lower on the target because the site is it was going into the target started to wash out but that's a to I'll be two and a half inch group at fifty three point five grain so you can see the charge is not really that high yet but you can you can see from the primers that they are starting to flatten out and you know we're not even close to piercing them yet but this might be where you you'd want to stop if you wanted to get multiple lots of firings out of your brass you can see that they're just starting to flow into that primer pocket it appears that 54 grains of reloader 17 has the least amount of deviation with three shots anyways 28:55 2849 extreme spread of six even though 54 greens or a loader 17 had the smallest standard deviation you could see how it's starting to crater those primers and the primers are flowing even more these are milspec 34 CC eyes - so these are a pretty hard primer cup I wouldn't go any higher than 54 grains with this lot of powder anyways let's just do a review on those three groups so we started right out with 53 grains and that's about a inch and a half then we went to 53.5 started to see a little bit of primer flow into the back of the case that's just a fair group that probably could have been me too but you can see that group opened right up and then 54 grains might be dealing with my vision a little bit with these these open sights but I'm gonna I'm gonna go with 53 grains being the least damaging to the case mild pressure it's in the 2,800 feet per second and that's a that's the nicest group I've shot so far with this unfilled okay this is a review of the three charges 53 grains of her load or 17 these are all 168 match Kings 2795 228 12 we did five shots of fifty three point five grains 28 24 28 31 36 you see this dream spreader 37 and 54 grains was the winner today we had 49 49 and 55 so we had a spread of six feet per second here 454 green reloader Seventeen's [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] this Anfield is my new favorite gun it really is its simplicity it's its strength and just a great looking gun and I have to say that it wouldn't be performing like this if it wasn't for the Criterion barrel they make some excellent barrels and this is no disappointment here Criterion made this barrel and you can still get these through the civilian marksman it's just a gorgeous con hey thanks for watching looks like spring is here
