this is crazy this is insane what was I thinking a be my wonderful sailor why am i sticking this dump just don't ask questions what would you think if I were to write I know you already know what I'm gonna do what would you think if I were to raise pet wasps in this room what's wrong with it think about it in a reasonable sense in a reasonable way what would be wrong with living honey here's a here's a personal question would you consider adopting one of wasps you serious as your pet picture a little wasp cage right you put it in the cage to transport it to your coffee date or whatever and it will protect my coffee date yes it'll protect you on that day Savi I am thinking of the family right now I think he would leave yeah he's right there and then the Hornets in between us like I really feel like stinging good idea you have to be kidding when you first had the idea I was like we're gonna kill every single one and I still stand by that your city yeah question how did you get mom to great mom has not actually said yes yeah I'd be here a new doctor if she know if she lets in my foreigns I'm getting guinea pigs guinea pigs stink Hornet sting what's the benefit of wasps no I support you but some things you do I just don't understand Wow not happening Bethany you have been a longtime friend yeah what is your opinion it's different it's not safe I don't recommend the past two weeks I had a mosquito living in my room and I slept with the blanket over my head scared cuz they gave me I can't imagine having 30 watts just chilling in my room do I have to sit here yes I don't mind this dump I'm just saying I like wonderful mother would you be okay with me keeping wasps in my room as pets the first thing that came to my mind yep in the back porch what was it what happened with the ant farm I hope the ants escaped I think we even had a tarantula s key and Mice and mice Hydra Christ disappeared do you guys remember the hamsters that lived behind the bookshelf for years yes okay so you have assured me that they will not escape yes that you're going to have a double layer on your door yes you also have reasoned that having the wasps on the front porch was more dangerous than having in your room let me explain let me explain so there were these these wasps that were on our front porch they were right in front of the door and every single day that I went by them I put my hand closer and closer to them so that they got more and more used to me and at first they got tense but soon they got used to me and I got to them to a point I got them to a point where I could put my finger up to their nest with honey on it and they would crawl on it I did that multiple days one day our good friend Joel he comes home and he sees this wasp nest and he thinks it's just a pest when they were actually my pets and he killed them all so I come oh yes there was murder and those those what my mom is saying is those wasps were right by our front door and they never attacked anybody these wasps will be further away from most people because they're gonna be right up in the corner of my bedroom logic yeah I think she said yes I was going to say yes restrictions okay or they get loose yeah then we have to reevaluate and you have to also protect yourself I guess you wear a bee suit if I wake up to those he is out Joel my main man I'm taking investors for this wasp expedition are you in you know Alethea my wonderful sister ah what would your reaction be if I were to keep pet wasps in this room and the house you live in I wouldn't be surprised but I would have serious concerns because I also live in this house what are some of your concerns um I have a huge concern that they will exit your room actually I'm mainly concerned for your mental health yeah why is that a concern because of PTSD of wasps coming to sting you in your sleep jyoti what are your thoughts about actually I think that it's a really dumb idea okay thank you I mean this house - I haven't a P of like saying yep you said it like you're trying this would you consider it now doc oh no no I was gonna if I did okay joke see we're nine Oh what about yeah just get out of my room I'm just kidding me please don't kill me this is it just joggers we are about to release them in my room and can I just say I have like the best mom ever what mom would say yes to doing this in her house only mine okay so this is the plan right we have the nest the container full of the wasps during the same container as the nest so we need to separate them somehow last time we used a refrigerator this time we're just going to let them go in the room and then we'll get the nest we're going to silicone the nest right on this mount that I built so the nest will be here in the corner just underneath here and I have some honey in a little lid with a paper towel I'm gonna put up on top here so that they will be attracted even more to the nest I have the windows insulated so they can survive the winter and we can keep a consistent temperature I have a separate screen so that we have a dual protection system so it protects my family from my madness and I have a doorstop there just for an extra measure of safety in all senses of the term we are ready this is the moment of truth I'm just going to open the containers lid and see what happens I have no idea how this is gonna go this might be the last you guys see of me here we go so right off the bat there's some that are climbing up there's the first one and it takes off interesting it's detracted to the silver reflection there there's another one oh my gosh oh boy what okay that's a lot I mean I knew that but it's just a lot check out the light there's a whole bunch on the light they're just flying all around the room they were just flying all over the place oh wow oh well okay they are everywhere they're not very aggressive right now but I'm sure that one might change here pretty soon Wow okay so far so good they're just exploring their new home I suppose well hey there buddy how's it going they're everywhere okay my room is officially infested with wasps by the way I stripped my bed because I'm actually going on a weekend retreat so that they have a whole weekend to settle in all by themselves when I'm not here I'm not sure this was a good idea pull this guy's okay okay okay I feel like that one was chasing me I think we're good I think we're good nobody's got stung yet oh my gosh Wow so like I was saying I won't be sleeping here tonight for the next three nights so they have a full weekend to adjust we've reached a calming point where they're not flying around so much just kidding there they go okay this is crazy this is insane what what stay away buddy stay away hey how's it going man see no worries oh my gosh well they are everywhere I guess I should have expected this so as I was trying to say earlier was something I was concerned about is then being so disoriented inside that they weren't able to fly accurately but these guys seem to have pretty good coordination to be honest okay so we're good oh my gosh okay hey buddy stay back stay back okay so I'm just gently caressing them I'm just gently popping them when they get close to me and it seems to be working I think the biggest danger is one flying hey buddy hey buddy okay okay stick hey Alfred Alfred I need you to relax whoa whoa see they have a good sense of space though um he doesn't seem to have any problems flying in my room I was worried that you oh my gosh look no one landed on my head okay here we go anyway so here's that one seemed a little more upset it's gonna take a little bit to not be paranoid in my room now um I do not want to step on the nest after remember that okay relax relax relax relax get down okay wow they're so docile though there's still whole bunch on the nest Wow just get off okay all right there you go get off the nest what just flew on me but did not sneak me I think that was an accident none of whom appeared to be very hostile at the moment I think the only risk of getting stung is one feeling like it needs do you like if it gets trapped in my pants or something you know the same you got ants in your pants this takes it to a whole different level I'm gonna flip the nest over see how many we're dealing with all right not that many hey you okay this one seems like a young one that just hedged come on guys I need you off so I can install the nest there we go be free fly I need every single wasp buff so I can silicone it into its frame here Wow okay buddy okay get away if anyone remembers these are really fun okay look how they're just gathering around the light it's kind of cool it's like a community hotspot look at that as a wasp keeper having wasps as pets this is new ground this is new territory for anybody I have not seen anybody keep wasps as pets at this scale and so I'm learning new things and something that seems to really work is when they're flying around you and you don't want them to just gently bump them and send them in a different direction and it works marvelously pretty sure we have all the wasps except for one off the nest and if you can see there he's like hiding in a Cell it's kind of weird he's like he literally just got so scared he just stuffed his whole like an ostrich sticking his head in the sand I'm just gonna apply some silicone to the back of the nest so that it will stick now this is special silicone that's meant for aquariums and and fish so it doesn't have chemicals that are harmful I hope this works okay the dude who is hiding in his hole just came out about time buddy what oh yeah look that dude just found the honey he's indulging in it I'm gonna grab this honey and see how many I can get to jump on the honey just like this one is well there's one see how that works one just landed in the honey come get the honey your cousin's the bees made it just for you so something about adult wasps is they live off of sweet stuff they love sweet nectar and honey and the meat that they get from insects they actually feed to their babies the larva is what eats the meat and then the larva actually give off a sweet saliva that the adults they need it's crying it's a little bit disturbing but it's also really cool honey get the honey oh it landed on my finger I know you're slow look at that dude just landed and he's eating already oh yeah he's getting that honey come on trust the honey what no mom no you want some honey honey okay okay yeah nice they're just diving right in they love it this is gonna give them the energy they need cuz they have been through a lot of very stressful events so this is exactly what they need oh yeah they smelled it oh okay look at these guys wow they're just hanging off of the light wanting that honey come on now oh yeah delicious come on you smell burning oh you're just one up the vent hey we just lost one in the vent hopefully that doesn't harass the rest of the family come on buddy oh nice he just landed it hey buddy let's see if we can get this guy what so a lot of people have been asking me why do you want wasps as pets ever since I was a little kid I loved insects especially social insects I raised ants a lot and I loved it and as an adult I kind of missed raising ants as pets and so one day I was like you know what I missed that I should do it again but then I thought you know ants are kind of boring everybody's done it and I'm a kind of person who loves to do things that nobody else has ever done and so I thought you know what's like ants but a little bit different and immediately wasps came to mind and I was like that's it I'm going to raise wasps as pets it's like an ant farm on steroids so I'm actually trying something out here I've turned off this lightning where they were mostly gathering I put a light right up close to the nest so that the ones who are free flying and don't know where the nest is will find it hey buddy comment below if you would be brave enough to stay in a room like this these three have found the nest and are reacquainting themselves with each other they're actually probably sharing honey I promise they're not making out they're just sharing honey which is really cool Wow neat so thank you guys for watching be sure to LIKE and subscribe so you can follow along on this journey hit that Bell icon so you know immediately when we're releasing a new video about this journey and yeah I'm excited to see what these wasps have done with the place after I'm gone for the weekend when I get back that's when we'll see how it is living in the same room as them then I'll actually spend the night here that's gonna be intense yeah we have a couple questions Zoe you're not a dog you're not a dog I want to ask you a question but I want you to answer in English what do you think if I put wasps in this room as pets they could fly around freely William what animal are you you're a chicken okay why are you talking so weirdly don't hit your uncle okay why do you think if I put wasp in this room to raise his pets roof no just a normal Road unbelievable what do you think about the log in the grass I like the long grass I paid money for that grass well I took it from the lawn what would your reaction be if I were to put wasps in this room and raise them as pets so turn it into more of a habitat rather than living here still but then where would I live maybe I'll just live in a tree yeah maybe the wasp and I will reverse roles you
