Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Iβm especially glad he mentioned imposter syndrome as a minority - it can add layers to regular imposter syndrome that other people experience as you ask yourself if you donβt have merit outside of these identities.
It is extremely rare for Marques to speak on subjects that have nothing to do with technology, but I am pleased that he uses his influence to talk about such an important issue.
It must have been incredibly difficult for him to reflect on the color of his skin as a Matte Black guy.
I definitely get how he feels. Nowhere to the same level, but I get it. Using tech and your job/hobby to get away from the realities of race in America, being proud of your accomplishments while at the same time feeling burdened/suspicious by being one of the few people of your race there. Itβs a tiring thing. Iβm surprised and happy that he spoke up, but I definitely understand why he doesnβt more.
So I watch this dude on occasion and love his work. Iβve seen him mention frisbee... is he a pro at that too?
MKBHD is at the peak of a diverse range of talents. Understanding technology with a combination of technical knowledge and style, then communicating that understanding with clear articulation and spectacular cinematic direction. The best on YouTube. Period.
Love the guy and this video. Great perspective.
There's no tech YouTuber I trust more than MKBHD. Thanks for sharing this with us /u/Marques-Brownlee
I love hearing from people who are not "sticking to their lane". Thank you for sharing your side Marques
This is really eye opening. I'm a huge fan of MKBHD. Have been watching him since his begining. I've always wondered how being black affected him. This helps me understand so much. I hope we can improve this country.
