I was hoping the before and after was a result of a 18 wheeler heist

how's it going guys my name is savaris and today we are myth-busting if you guys remember back in 2001 the iconic movie The Fast and Furious had one of these it had a mid-90s Toyota Supra and it was a little bit worse for the wear but with around $15,000 worth of overnight parts from Japan it decimated all now the problem with their Supra just like my Supra it has a naturally aspirated 2jz engine which doesn't make a lot of power however they had a ton of parts at their disposal and seemingly overnight they got that car to a single turbo monster so then I thought to myself I got the car I got the shop and I ordered a lot of parts so here's today's challenge we're taking this bone-stock 120 wheel horsepower naturally aspirated Toyota Supra and we're turning it into a fire-breathing single turbo Ferrari killing monster and I only have the weekend to do it so strap yourselves in this one is gonna be fun [Music] so if you guys know the channel thank you so much for watching I really hope you enjoy it because this is a special one this is one of my dream builds I've always loved to the Supra and now that I have the chance to actually make one fast at least in theory I'm super excited and also a little scared but none of this would be possible without today's sponsor Auto tempest comm also known as a site where I found this Supra my Lamborghini my SL 55 my truck my mr2 have another one let's just say I spend a lot of time on the site so if you guys haven't heard of Auto Tempest it is one of the most useful resources I've ever used when it comes to buying used or new cars let's just say you want to find the cheapest to you to Supra in the country just go to this drop down box go to Toyota Supra and within any mileage because we want to find the cheapest one in the country if not the world and we hit search and immediately Auto Tempest finds the best car listings online in one click so the prices on these super us are getting insane but I think I got a pretty good deal I paid twenty three grand for mine it is an N a hardtop five-speed twenty two grand this one is actually in Florida I have actually seen this car and it ain't bad at all needs some work but it's a right-hand drive and it's a turbo with a six-speed so if you guys want a really cheap one check this out actually I shouldn't I shouldn't tell you I should just buy this I'm just gonna cut this auto Tempest is adding more features every single day so in the near future you'll have even more listings to search through in one click and if you hit this guy right here it compares with all of Craigslist not just your local area so you don't have to go searching city by city it is just like cheating if you're looking for the best deal possible so Auto Tempest has literally transformed the way I buy cars I've been using them for years and it's transformed my channel I've been able to get these awesome cars for next to nothing so click the link in the description below right now so let's begin this is my 1995 Toyota Supra s II which means special edition and it also means super slow it's slow it's not a it's not a fast car what we're gonna do is put all those parts into this car and hopefully get it running in about three days but I'm not gonna do this myself because I don't really know what I'm doing so I got a friend and you guys might know him come on friend it's Jared yeah you guys might have seen him on the wall rally the dodgeball we went on a dust ball rally and it was a lot of fun we took Jared's ISF and Jared you know some stuff about this I've got a few years experience working on the supras yes a little how many engines have you built somewhere in the three digit range okay so I think we're we're good here I see all these parts and I get a little scared am i my right to be scared like can we can we do this it's ambitious but it was my idea we got it dude I know you're confident but this is seriously a lot of stuff and you're saying that we can do all this stuff in three days and horse over there oh there's more March so that's a transmission okay so can you give us a quick rundown of everything we got here we're gonna go over this in detail in a little bit but I just want to lay out everything we got so you got a brand new precision 46664 66 turbos a lot not to replace something broken oh this is a this is not a Chinese choo-choo boy this is a this is a real-deal ball bearing yeah this is this is gonna be it's gonna be nice so small for a super perfect for the build this is not small for how dare you we're starting off this build with an insult come on dude come on you don't have to go big to have a good time it's not the size that counts it's the motion of the oak got a 2jz GTE vvt-i cylinder head those are a lot of letters what is what does that mean so 2jz is the engine designation right it's the engine designation GTE is that it's originally turbocharged needed for it which allows you to use much there's a lot larger selection of manifolds available for it variable valve timing gives us roughly thirty degrees of intake camshaft phasing that lets us spool the turbo faster mm-hmm it used to be big peak power now it's how quick we can reach the peak power so this is this is a better engine for a while they nobody knew how to tune these things but now now that we know yeah I've always been a fan of them but ever the computer technology couldn't fight mmm-hmm we've gotten a new AM infinity perfect segue oh look at that and 506 okay which gives us good intake control it's gonna be plugged in with the tweaked wiring harness with they sent the milspec option which will have a nice fight fire wall plate Oh awesome so that is basically just gonna be a plug in place so we don't have to worry about any any sort of wiring up three or four wires to hook up everything else should plug right in three or four return it return I'm I don't want to wire anything lq nine style coils so those are basically LS coils right yes and these the ones I brought with me just just to help cover have some copper and heat shrink which these are noisy coils and the factory cam cam sensors don't like it so it helps me make it run better okay cool so what are what are these things right here so we've got two different intake manifolds obviously the 2jz GT e--'s forward facing yeah this is one off of Japanese motor this is a USD m1 we're probably gonna run this I just brought a spare so we didn't run out of course okay well you actually brought a lot of parts not only all stuff on this table I mean I did buy most of stuff on this table but you got like plenty of parts over there so this this whole situation we have a ton of fittings and whatnot fittings or clutch well the clutch is clutch is interesting so that clutch is not originally supposed to go on a Toyota Supra correct correct this is a custom application from Collins goes to there flywheel to allow the use of the nissan CD 0:09 yeah there's kind of the popular transmission right now very affordable handles good abuse gives us one extra gear yes because five isn't enough the apps have six real nice shifter mm-hmm dad that is that is awesome I can't wait to put that in the car it almost feels gated yeah not but it's I guess as close as you can get as close as you can get ha we have some intercooler piping right here this is actually yours right yeah we brought that again we have a kit I brought spare piping we've got a Greddy free ro intercooler or another one we had have duplicates of a lot of parts yes again we want to get this done and running in three days coming down here not only do we have all these modification parts but we also have some om repair parts so I have a timing belt water pump a complete gasket set from Toyota actually where's that gaskets it's somewhat somewhere over here but it's basically every single gasket for the engine and the first point that we have to cover is getting that engine out we're not actually gonna do any of the work inside the car because it's gonna be a lot easier getting this out and on the engine stand we also have a full exhaust from CX racing we have a front mount intercooler from CX racing we might use the Greddy one that Jared brought and you guys might have seen on Instagram I had that bumper in front of the car we're not going to be installing that bumper that was just kind of a troll post even though I sort of I don't hate the look of that bumper so you guys can let me know in the comments Jared Jared likes that bumper maybe we just build another super for it [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right that's what a 2jc looks like all right there you go oh yeah how is easy all right engine is out and Jared is wasting no time at all like we're just kind of rushing through this because we kind of spent a lot of time doing a live stream you guys definitely check out the live streams when we do this sort of stuff even though I don't really announce it beforehand so yeah it is very last-minute but we took off the clutch and you can take a look at the clutch right here it's not in horrible shape but it you know it looks like it's on its way out at some point plus it's not gonna handle the sort of power that we want to push and we're also taking off we took off that transmission that five-speed so that's probably gonna go in the garbage or something where it belongs we'll put it on an engine stand okay tear the head off tear the whole pans off yeah yeah I'm gonna have to do a lot of cleaning and then I'm gonna clean in here as well because that is SuperDuper oily hopefully we can get this done pretty soon a heads gonna come off then we have to install all this stuff and then it's you're fast dude I'm actually surprised that all the studs were yeah we're still good after two hundred thousand miles honestly this it could be worse I mean keeping it I think it was just lubricating itself yeah with all the with all the oil yeah take take a look at this so one of the issues that we ran into was the fact that I got a new engine mount right here and these engine mounts are not the right size there are differences in this mounting bracket to the engine and these engine mounts are just too big so we're gonna have to reuse these they're not in horrible shape they look like they've been changed in the last let's call it few years and they're not falling apart so we're just gonna reuse them and then I'll get these mounts when I can but this is a 2jc guys this is the legendary 2jz we just have to clean it up watch over their Instagram picture oh this is the hash that yeah there you go hashtag to J's there we go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] all right so this is a very wet 2j but it is a little bit cleaner then I got it this oil is super caked on there and it's very hard to take off we took off most of it and I only want to take off the stuff on the block and the oil pan and maybe some of the timing components the oil pump we're all gonna change everything on the timing components that's all gonna go and also the head so I know you guys saw me putting water in here it doesn't really matter because we're taking this all off and we're not gonna get any water into the cylinders so this is gonna need a little bit more cleanup but what's gonna need a lot more cleanup is this Jarrod actually brought the car out here and you can see it in the sunlight it looks really bad it looks very very disgusting and filthy but I think with some decreasing and hopefully we'll have enough sunlight this will all become a little bit cleaner than when I left it jared is already on to the next thing it's it's kind of insane when you have two people working you get so much more done it's also better when you have one guy working that works a little bit more than you this is the brand new well new to me cylinder head this is a 2jz vvt-i and this is the turbo version this is a GTE so we also have some bc brian Crower right yeah so these are bc valve springs and retainers and retainers these are a little bit let's call them upgraded it's not like a super huge upgrade but they're a little bit stiffer than the stock stuff in there right yeah just a little bit stiffer the other thing always say to consider is the Valve's move a lot in the life of an engine and it's not a very expensive thing to go ahead and refresh and replace whenever you're opening up yeah taking them off yeah so these are only like a few like a few hundred bucks or something I think it's four hundred dollars for the set of Springs and retainers right and then you have the Ferrara duels which yeah but then you can you can Rev like really high we we don't really want to rev too far past the stock rev limit because we're still using the same block so that's that's gonna be you know this is gonna be just fine we also have the cam here this is gonna be what the intake and I see in take the exhaust state in there cuz when it was shipped the intake stick so far out they right off okay yeah we don't don't want any cameras breaking so this is the bare head and you took off all the this is the intake correct yeah the intake cam caps okay if you're ever doing this yourself they are numbered so that way yeah this is I - yeah you can see that if my camera was focusing but it's not so I go say you just make sure you get all in order the other thing you need to make sure is your shim buckets these things that's where your cam will actually ride and underneath your shim bucket is your valve spring and that's your valve tip so we end up doing is we pull the spring apart drop the valve out and the seals under there mm-hmm so we have a handy tool when you're on a workbench racks underneath help support the valve so you can pop them out okay if it's in the car you actually want to use compressed air or rope down the cylinder so you don't drop the valve because then you're pulling the head and it makes an easy job yeah then you know you don't want drop valves [Music] oh that was easy so there's like I'm a little magnetic tip in there right yeah that'll that sometimes catches them if it doesn't it's not a problem old tired valve spring brand-new valve spring so we're not it's not just like out with the old in with the new we also have to change that guy right there that is the valve stem seal correct correct so you have very nice pliers oh you got the you got the real pliers I just use and I just use the needle nose I come prepared okay and then this seal here it's actually supple normally they'll be a little crunchy mm-hmm but again it's a part take care of it okay cool so this just has to happen 24 more times 23 23 and a half 23 and a half and then we'll we'll be done right are you gonna be done cleaning by then listen man I don't I don't like your tone I'm leaving I'm going I'm going [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right this is a bear 2jz block and this is what a 2jc block looks like with 200,000 miles on it it actually doesn't look all that bad what do you think e + b + ok so what you'd like to see is you don't want any discoloration here some yellowing is okay but you don't want to see sludge and I don't see any sludge it's uh it's actually looks like it's been taken care of well ish it's it's not it's not bad but it's also not perfect so what's most important is let's let's turn this puppy around okay turn around whoo okay that's uh that's a spicy meatball okay we're gonna need to clean that up that's taken care of but this is a sort of refreshed 2jc block Pistons rods rings all that stuff haven't been changed we just cleaned it up a little bit how's this looking looks pretty good there's a little bit of side wear and the crosshatch yeah for our goal yeah I'm gonna be perfect our goal is again 600 horsepower trying to be relatively affordable prove that you can take these cars yeah and a weekend make them hopefully don't jinx it do not keep it please we've had enough problems yeah yeah that's true so Jared actually took out one of the biggest problems which was the crank pulley and the crank pulley had some red loctite on it and it's just you should never don't don't do that to frank toys are super just torque it to the 236 foot-pounds of torque all right do not put Loctite on it because I've seen many crank shafts ruined from the Loctite yeah called Fort never required a 1,600 horsepower ones you just torque 236 foot-pounds yes totally fine do not lock tight you're great Julie yes or you'll make me angry so what's so for some people that don't know about these engines there are two variants of them there there this is the naturally aspirated version and there's also a turbo version so the naturally aspirated version and the turbo version they share a lot of the same architecture like the block is largely the same the GTE the turbo version has some oil squirters and some extra oil passages and some different coolant passages they also have a different design piston but the crank and the rods are exactly the same between the two correct correct they're the exact same and actually the block for casting is the exact same differences there's one extra hole drilled yeah and then your six oldest quarter hole is fun the basic block yeah it's the exact same block yeah some people prefer building GE blocks because they claim the slight cross drilling and extra holes compromise its strength yeah but this is this isn't an open deck design this is a closed deck iron block so it can handle a lot of power and with these pistons these are the naturally aspirated Pistons to actually bump up compression which means that on the turbo that we got that's supposed to give us a little bit better spool and a little bit better low-end torque correct correct okay so um there's a reason why I did this and it wasn't just because I'm cheap but let's let's just let's be honest it's because it's because I'm cheap this is looking really good the cylinders are looking really good you can still see the crosshatch after almost two hundred thousand miles we turned it around and no oil came back up the Rings are good so this is basically done we have to take off the oil pump which is this guy right here we have to take off the timing belt timing pulley rather we have to take off the water pump and all the other timing stuff and then it's going to be just a bare short block and we can start building it up and that's gonna be the exciting part yeah but while Jared does that I'm gonna go and do the transmission which is right there and I'm gonna do my favorite thing in the world which is metal fabrication and grinding on a transmission that I've never done before yeah so this is my new transmission this is from AG 37 also on a 370 see this is what's known as a CD double O 9 transmission I think it has a different name in the newer cars I think it's a JK 41 I could be wrong about that but this has better synchros than the 350z ones and it's generally known that these can handle a lot of power certainly more power than we're gonna throw at it with my engine and turbo and all that stuff but this will not obviously bolt up to a 2 jz not without some adaptation and that's why I got this kahlan's adapter a 340 e bellhousing and a340 ii is actually the toyota bell housing the automatic bell housing you have to get a specific one I believe it's a j2 and these are actually really cheap you can get them for under $100 and if you have this kit from Collins basically what you have to do is you have to cut this at some point I think it's look right here just cut this and then this all bolts on to the inner structure so this everything you see here is gonna get replaced so what you're looking at is called a Tilton concentric slave cylinder and it replaces this slave cylinder which is also concentric but is known to leak sometimes and when it leaks it goes all over the clutch this is definitely going to be a performance upgrade and I haven't even shown you the clutch which we will install when we get this on the engine but right now I have to follow the instructions of the instructions right here I have a brand new cutoff wheel on my my grinder here and I have my hand protection I'm going to get my eye protection and ear protection and then we're gonna make our incision and get this trans ready to be put into the Supra and I can't wait [Music] [Music] you could roll lock it but if you roll lock you can make small imperfections use a nice carbide cleaner that gives a perfect flat surface do watch family now you can probably hear you know I'm not quite as loud as you yet I'm learning yeah you gotta check your voice man I just put my head down and work yeah that doesn't work too good I shouldn't it works it works great apparently I should get the key when you're preparing and reusing and you're not completely machining a block is if you know it's true not a blown head gasket is you want to not use aggressive rowlock discs or sanding discs because you can actually put small waves on a motor that's meant to have a metal head gasket so we actually used a carbide blade that makes it perfectly it removes all the small gasket materials solely by hand no no machining so we know this is a good surface you can actually see the original factory are a finish from when it was machines new there's just some staining in the cast iron it's a perfect surface ready to seal but I know you're used to seeing a perfect brand-new finish this is a two hundred thousand mile engine that we're gonna make good it's gonna seal perfectly nothing to worry about shouldn't we round up we can round down one hundred thousand yeah it's fairly broken in so this is the brand-new GTE multi-layer steel head gasket is a head gasket ready to go on autumn and this is Om Toyota always get the OEM to the other one how is this arranged I don't want to put this on put it on one way yeah but I can put it on wrong well you can't put it on that's my superpower but okay yep BAM oil passage in the rear look at that that is uh so the few times you would potentially not use om head gasket your 1600 horsepower plus and you're running copper oring you run a half inch stud if you're running the really really big stroker kits that require very very large cylinder bore yeah you would need to get an aftermarket head gasket that accommodate the larger cylinder bore okay the factory head gasket can handle a couple couple of 1 or 2 millimeter over not too much when you do crazy big stroke red but any one 1200 on 1200 horsepower below yep stock head guest ok clear phenomenal Toyota not not not all we fit min and there's no copper or nothing that goes on here when you copper will actually eat the multi-layer steel all right the coating that comes from Toyota rav4 turbo well yeah it's done it's done let's slap it slap it in the car it's done we're just jump in and start it right yeah that's that's how they do it on TV there actually was an issue in which I didn't order a water pump housing and I ordered a water pump but the housing itself is different on the GTE the turbo one versus the NA the NA is right here and technically my water pump would bolt on but this water neck is completely different so that's not gonna work for us at all actually I mean we good I'm serious look at Lou's yeah but you have to connect your radiator hose I don't have to connect anything route I mean it's a man we can run methanol no cooler we have to get a rear housing and I don't know where to get one we'll try to find one tomorrow we have a few contacts that we could get Rominger on their parts so make sure you comment that you have one yeah so so be a week later yeah and it'll be too late but whatever but thank you for offering thanks thanks what are you doing Freddie I'm making a list of stuff we we need for our super turbo or bus build so we need to dress time the engine which is the transmission why did you put bust on there I don't want a bust we'll leave that alone I got a dress the engine dress the transmission install the shifter run the fuel lines which include making new fuel lines out of eight a n fittings weld fitting on two fuel tank top which you're gonna do because my welding is bad instead don't you like cars with fuel leaks that catch fire I don't like them when I own them oh that's just I haven't caught fire before that's the pre-purchasing requisite yes okay so that's that's before that's that's how I get them for cheap but I don't like to have that happen install the clutch that's gonna be kind of interesting because it's a it's all a custom build thing mate transmission so that means the engine is already ready to go install engine and trans install front-mount intercooler slash power steering cooler because the power state we need to get cooled somehow then what we need to do we're wiring harness okay wiring harness we also need to do the AEM well yeah but we also got to do the rear diff yeah you got to take care of that rear end differential and let's do differential driveshaft bleeding the brakes so we can stop and then what else good do burnouts is that it that it I mean then I mean there's a bunch of stuff in between there that we forgot and that's that's step three and then yeah that's that's our plan okay so we have to get to here let's let's hope we can do all this today yeah what do you think you can do us today oh yeah we're doing it okay cool it may be tomorrow but we won't go home technically it's a quickly today tomorrow yeah I don't know what data do you know what that is some day good all right cool let's uh quick updates on where things sit old pan is now sealed up working on mounting our fuel rail working through the adapters these are not the injectors that I bought what would what are these they're fic fuel injector clinic either 1,000 or 1150 s okay we'll figure out which one they are I'll confirm the part number but they're the ones that would fit our lower adaptors correctly we'll be mounting up wastegate and turbo here in a little bit the emergency part water pump oh thank you thank you a real street shout-out to real Street they were closed today and I called up one of their guys and this was the last water pump that they had and the reason why we got this is because the other one from the GE the non trouble one didn't fit so this is what we need the back half and this connects to our engine so we're super lucky to get this thanks again parts table is getting smaller it looks cluttered but there's less parts on it we're making progress [Music] [Applause] [Music] time to install the turbo oh all right dude dude that looks good that doesn't look good looks very good Vinnie choo-choo boy right there ready to make some power has a t4 flange what t4 gasket but the gasket is probably not the best in the world all right it's also not the worst in the world it's better it's better than no gasket so that's what grandma always said she talks about t4 flew into the water well my grandma didn't never talk talked about my grandma didn't never talk about no turbos not never and ever I did once disrespect her and she's 4 foot 11 threw me up against the wall by my ears that's good ears by my ears Fox my ears just cold although all not box your ears ok never disrespected the little lady again okay well that's boxing your ears that's a that's a Power Move yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] I've ready hi what are you doing right now I'm chasing the threads with a little tool you made it's just an old flywheel bolt and you cut reliefs in it that's probably not gonna pick it up very well because yeah I bet I can't go any closer okay cool so you just cut reliefs in it and I just put it in to the thread and it cleans up all of the junk that could have accumulated whether it's Loctite or whatever I'm just making sure that threads are oh okay I'm just going back and forth a little bit but they all seem to be okay and I'm gonna be installing this column's adapter flywheel kit now it's a little bit different than your usual flywheel kit usually the flywheel just goes on here and it's integrated with the ring gear which is what your starter rides on this is how your starter engages the engine but since we don't have that that's actually the flywheel it's a little button flywheel then what we have to do is we have to use an automatic flex plate this from I believe in is 300 so we take this little spacer that goes behind the flywheel just be like this and we put it yeah yeah that's right you think I am sometimes there are little dowels on fly wheels and you have to align them because they're machined in a certain way but on this one actually it's like choose-your-own-adventure usually if they have a timing gear like most Nissan's where they crank trigger wheels on the flywheel yes that's where you'll have a dowel yes so what you then gonna do yeah take deer your spacer here and I'll be careful with grease on the heads okay so there's grease on the heads because you you just grease them right yeah so there's a spacer that goes right here it's almost like a I don't know you call it a like a four lug and five lug wheel though Loctite is well the red kind is the kind that you don't want to ever take off unless it's with heat or with a lot of stress I'm just doing up by hand to make sure everything gets in its in its thread and then I have to torque it down we're gonna do it in three stages first stage is 20 foot-pounds second stage is 40 foot pounds and the third stage is 56 foot pounds and that's gonna be in a star pattern super easy and then the clutch goes on and look at I mean look at how small this clutch is it's it's like a little tiny tiny clutch there is gonna be a little chatter these clutches do tend to chatter but I want the engagement to be smooth so we'll see we'll see how that is you know if it's like an on and off clutch which it could be I'm not you know it's not gonna be the end of the world but it'd be kind of cool if there was interesting enough engagement I actually really do like this this column skint because it allows me to have a 6-speed in my Supra and not have to pay $8,000 and if my transmission breaks I don't have to pay $8,000 and the best part about it is I say it doesn't know [Music] [Music] oh my god take a look at this it's in its home and we have installed everything and everything fits like it should I do it I can't stop looking at this turbo yes that's true yeah it looks really good so Jerrod's installing some power steering stuff right now there are some differences between the turbo and the naturally aspirated power steering pump you can actually use a naturally aspirated for our steering pump we just have to use a different bracket and a different reservoir so that's the reservoir actually this is this the old one so we're using a new one that looks very similar to that but I also installed some steering rack bushings you can't see that but I did that off-camera and the steering rack is now there we go that's where it's gonna sit and a little nipple that'll go right cool and it looks very very OEM this is from a Lexus that's actually from us sir oh so it's from a super-great okay yeah it's almost like Toyota made that let me take a look underneath so I can show you the Collins kit in all its glory you can see the fitment is pretty good nothing is fouling you have the shifter right up there and it goes right into where it needs to go and you have the mount which is all custom made and it bolts onto the factory locations everything sits as it should and it's just looking all kinds of awesome now I do have to put the drive shaft in but before that we have to take out this half drive shaft and the differential because I want to put another differential in there that differential is a 4.0 or 4.1 rear-end ratio and that means that the acceleration can be very quick but it's also gonna mean that I'm gonna have a very high rpm cruising on the highway so I'm gonna use a three point seven six gear ratio actually no three point two six I believe from 8 GS 400 it's still an open differential which sucks but I can get a better gas mileage and sort of better power delivery from that so that's gonna come apart but before I do that I have to make the top of the engine pretty and I have these valve covers and these are the kind of you know iconic valve covers that you see on the 2jz with the cover I'm also gonna have to do something about that but these valve covers they have a job to do which is ventilate the PCV system that is all the crankcase gasses they come out of here and they go into a little basically back into the intake we don't want to do that so I'm going to be using a catch-can which is over here so the idea is I'm gonna put this fitting I'm gonna have to drill and tap this hole actually another hole on the other side and we're gonna put this fitting in there we're gonna make a custom line it goes from here to this catch-can but I put the cash can somewhere in the car and then we're gonna have a catch can system which looks awesome and in addition I also have to paint this wrinkle black which might take a little while because it's a you know wrinkle black takes forever to dry so I'm gonna get right on that because I really really want to start the car Jared you want to start the car Oh Jared's just joking I've he can go home any time he wants here if you say that again I swear [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] oh my god I think we got an engine that looks like something now I'm happy yeah I'm I'm a little more than happy III can't believe that this is still the same block this still has two hundred thousand miles on it well I mean we dressed it up but it's a little more than dressed up okay fine we also have a bunch of Lacroix not sponsored by Lacroix but it's cheap and we we like sparkling water because we're extremely fancy so here is yeah very fancy people so here's what we did so far feel pressure regulator you love pressure regulator and he spent a good amount of time making an awesome little bracket just to bolt it on to our manifold and this is a USDM or JDM manifold USDM all right hold back on the USDA alright so this is the USDM manifold and I cleaned it up a little bit just with like a wire brush it's really hard to clean this I didn't want to put this in the sandblaster because then I would have to clean out everything inside and I didn't want to do that in the interest of time so this is clean enough I also put some wrinkled black on the valve covers and they look nice I don't want to touch them too much because they still are curing I kept arguing that was gonna take too much time but it was worth it yeah it's fine I mean I left them out in the Florida Sun in five minutes boom they're big but we got a brand new radiator see it's racing we got two HPS hoses we have a Aeromotive fuel pump we're gonna have some flex fuel get a flex fuel sensor and I also have the catch-can mounted right here I just repurposed a little bracket here I bent up some stuff I cut up some stuff and now we have the catch-can here I'll have to do is run the 10a in lines to our custom ten aan fittings on the valve covers and they they look really amazing the tile wastegate this is a 44 millimeter wastegate with a screamer pipe going down there so when this gets under full boost that is gonna be well it's gonna be screaming and spitting flames and doing all that sort of stuff this car should be good to run in the next one like five minutes yeah okay it's Monday morning you can see by the bags under my eyes that we have again worked basically throughout the night we got home at around 3:00 in the morning and we got a lot done though so check that out I put the engine cover on we got the a.m. lines routed everything is where it's supposed to be but as Jared says right now is when we have to do a million little things by a thousand cuts death by a thousand cuts hopefully we don't experience death so very that's a thousand and one so the intake manifold is on Jared did an amazing job plumbing all the fuel lines right here the adjustable adjustable regulator we have the map sensor right there we have the Flex fuel sensor right there everything has a in lines everything is fit up correctly and the catch-can here we need to get a wideband I actually sent my wife to get out to get the wideband from real street performance as soon as they opened then we flashed the tune and then this should start right theoretically oil yes oil is important for an engine yeah they don't run too well without oil or very long no they don't so as always two steps forward and one step back or might be three steps back who knows might be even four steps back but it is it's Monday we started this on Friday at noon now it's Monday 2 p.m. 2 p.m. and yeah Jared should have been on the road too yeah two hours ago he should have been on the way home but he's still here because we had some issues and most of the build most of most of these builds is just little stuff it's not the engine coming apart yeah it's not the engine going back in its all it's like these fittings making sure that they don't leak we do have yeah the bracket making brackets it took a long time just making lines making sure that they don't leak making sure that they don't fray and we we were pressure testing a few things and there's a leak coming from the fuel fitting in the back so that's gonna have to get reweld 'add but it's not that bad and we can still start it there's also a leak coming from one of the fittings on the slave cylinder which is very hard to get to but I think I can get to it later on so we're just not going to use the clutch right now just to start it right now obviously we can't put the car on the road but we can see if the engine is gonna fire into life because we did get what we're gonna yeah it's gonna make some happy noise we also had a problem with the AEM apparently the AEM infiniti ECU is harder to crack than Fort Knox there's some security code issue where if you didn't have the original security code that came in the box which I did not I bought the secondhand it is a new unit but it was a secondhand unit and I ended up not getting that security code so there was this whole big runaround and Jay from real street again just came through and he really helped us out and he got us that security code and also this morning my wife went to get some sensor she got this also from real street this and a air intake temperature sensor right underneath the intake so we should be good as far as sensors everything is sort of calibrated you've taken a look at the flash the map went through zeroed all the sensors out corrected them for the slight differences in throttle ranges yeah we should be able to fire up everything is reporting like it should ok I mean yeah we don't have any fuel leaks I mean other than that one in the back but I'm still gonna get the fire extinguisher you always need one that's because I'm on fire and hopefully this part won't people we're going to use this liqui moly the guys from liqui moly came by a few days ago and they hooked me up with this new Mali gen this is supposed to be really good for turbo engines and this is a additive that you put in and it's it adheres to the block and it doesn't matter what kind of block it is doesn't matter if it has a loose allure NICUs aligners it's it's it's supposed to be pretty good I haven't tried it yet I just want to try it out especially on an engine that has a lot of mileage on it at least the block does and we're just using regular 540 weight motor oil so a block that two guys threw together threw together in literally in a weekend yes so also this is a green motor oil check that out ooh yeah so there's a lot of weird weird color fluids in this car how's this been for you Jared it's been a blast actually I've had fun I was worried what were you worried about that you weren't gonna be as cool as you are on YouTube ah see this is what this why I like Jared I thought it was just all editing tricks this is this is why I'm just gonna I'm just gonna stroke your beard on camp and just oh that's why I liked you right yeah yeah yeah and see how much is grade since Friday doodoo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo excuse me spiders I just have to get this okay whoa whoa [Music] yeah oh yeah dude yes holy crap yeah that's that's fine obviously oh look and that turbo is still spinning okay hold on let me let me just check out nothing's on fire okay everything smells a little little smoky here but that's that's alright yeah it's normal [Laughter] all right what is a something's something's leaking out no that's oil all right let me explain to you the severity of what is going on so in the front I have a coolant leak coming from my brand-new radiator right directly behind that is a power steering leak because one of the o-rings on the power steering pump is bad so I have to get an o-ring that's no problem it's four bucks behind that is a big oil leak because the pressurized oil came out of one of the fittings and I just had to tighten down the fittings for the turbo that's not a that's not a problem and behind that is the clutch line leaking and that is going to be that might actually be a problem and also behind that you can't see but there is fuel leak literally every fluid in this car is leaking at this point and I just I think it's hilarious so I have to figure out where actually the refrigerant isn't leaking brake foot well technically it is because clutch and brake fluid are okay so I have to figure out where in here this is leaking and might be in here somewhere I don't know well we'll figure it out but should we should we keep the car running well let's see if we fix that oil leak at least one more time yeah let it run long enough to not be vomiting fluids so we can write well it's gonna vomit more fluids if that's a leak that's okay it's not little leak never heard nobody that's good that's a gram I always said you can't little leak never hurt nobody [Music] all right oily oil leak is good coolants is still dripping is it warmed up let's I see what it sounds like [Music] okay oh there you go steamed I hear like a locomotive okay well dude that thing sounds awesome Wow oh yeah so I think then we found the culprit - - this I think this is this is bad so I might well I could just JB Walden no no no maybe at 2:00 o'clock last night yeah the turbo still spinning look at that dude the thing snaps - like that's what we wanted dude this thing is this thing is amazing obviously yeah we have we have some troubleshooting to do well I have trouble me to do this will decimate all yeah after you get about ten thousand more in overnight parts from Japan more three I think we did and you can see by my disheveled look we we really haven't slept for like four days what I think we did is we proved that you can actually build one of these things in around four days some around three or four days I played three three days and change if you're counting days like 24 hours but um even better if you don't have to film the whole thing yeah so filming on crew yeah filming and live-streaming took a long time setting up and all that stuff took it took a while and just so you guys can see what the process is like but you definitely can do it I still have a day's worth of work to do but I do have to say goodbye to our friend Jared and I want your to come back so you guys write in the comments hashtag Jared come back yeah Jared don't go yeah he is the the true MVP that thing sounded marvelous so hopefully I'll get it sounding even better with the fuel and the oil and the lost and the exhaust oh yeah the exhaust is not on so that's that's you know it's actually not that loud for being basically open down pipe that yeah so that's right now we didn't even hit the screamer pipe so oh yeah yeah awesome I can't I can't wait I can't do I have a super now like an actual Supra like real one not 126 horse power super 120 point seven so 126 is a pipe dream for me okay cool alright I gotta get back to work bye Jared bye bye everyone [Music] alright it is the next day Jared is unfortunately gone but I got some work done off-camera after Jared LA now I cleaned up the engine bay just a little bit and I cleaned up some of the leaks that were underneath the car there still is one leak however from this brand new radiator and I think it's on one of the fins so I ordered another one but it's not that bad that we shouldn't be able to do a test-drive I did clean up the oil leak that was down there and there was also a clutch fluid leak that was a pain in the butt because I had to basically make my own wrench I had to kind of finagle a wrench in there but I did that all off-camera so that's fine the only thing I have left to do is I have to one install a differential because I took a look at the gear ratios I did some internet sleuthing and did some research and I found out the gear ratios on that differential and that transmission are gonna be ridiculous is gonna be borderline undriveable so I have to get a new differential in there then while the wheels are up I have to make sure that the clutch stop is adjusted properly I have to make a clutch stop because there is a point in the clutch pedal where the clutch can actually hyperextend that tilton concentric slave so that's gonna be interesting because usually you have to do that with two people but I think I figured out a way to do it myself and I'll show you when I do that but after that I have to roll the fenders because these fenders are a little bit well they're a little bit too sunken in and I don't want them digging into these brand new ps4s tires and after that I have to bleed the brakes I have to make some clearances for these because there is a not a ton of room here so I'll just sand down the calipers just a little bit doesn't matter I'm getting these repainted anyway and then I can put the car on the ground I can put all the front-end components on and then go for a test drive today's gonna be a long day but it's the last day so I probably should get to [Music] all right now we've got the differential out that wasn't so hard my fingers are pretty bruised up but here is the old differential and there is the new one the new one I put in air quotes because it's not exactly new but this is the differential from a Lexus GS 400 and this has the final drive rear-end ratio that we need see this one after doing some research I realized that it's like a 4.0 or 4.1 which would translate into some ridiculous amount of acceleration basically it would just smoke the tires on every gear and I would be really high in the revs if I was to go on the highway or just cruise this brings it back down to earth this is actually more like the rear-end ratio for a stock six-speed Supra and it actually makes the car a lot more drivable the only downside of this is that this along with the original one is an open differential and what I mean by open differential is when I spin one wheel the other one spins the other way in a limited slip differential they both spin the same way basically what it means is it provides power to the wheel that grips the least which is not exactly what we need in a performance car so I'm gonna give a shout out to the guys that set me this differential now I don't remember their name because I tried to look at my eBay history I tried to look at my purchase history and it didn't show up apparently eBay just deletes all the information after a certain amount of days and I can't click on it so if you are the people that provided me with this please send me a message and I will make sure to shut you out in the next video but yeah so sorry about that but this is a pretty good unit it's basically from a junkyard and I should have no issues with this holding a ton of power so let's get this in there and then we can do that stuff and then this is gonna go on the ground and then to go outside and it's gonna make a lot of a lot of noise hello everyone welcome to the next day that's right it is the next day we are in double super triple secret overtime and this car is almost ready to go on a test drive actually I just needed to put on the ground and we can start it right up and go for a ride but yesterday was it was pretty hard because the exhaust that I had apparently I had the wrong parts I don't know maybe there was a mixup in shipping but I got the wrong parts I apparently got the wrong mid pipe section and I ended up having to weld on well I didn't weld it on Tony the welding Jedi he came through at the last second and he welded on a new flange to make sure that my exhaust could go on and it could sound well it could sound good you'll hear it in a second but in addition to this I got a few other things done so I rolled the fenders here I bled the brakes and I also set that clutch stop well the clutch pedal needs an actual stop otherwise I hyperextend that clutch slave cylinder however that clutch slave cylinder requires a lot of fluid and the fluid that I have in here it just isn't enough so I'm gonna have to get a new slave cylinder actually a new master cylinder it's it's a bigger one it's one specifically made for the tilton and this one works but the clutch is basically all the way on the bottom of the pedal travel and it's been adjusted it's adjusted as far as it can go I bled the system you can see the bleeder right here I bled the system perfectly and there's no leaks and it just is really just super on the bottom and I don't want that to be normal so new master cylinder on the way but that's not gonna stop us from doing what we're going to do another thing that's not gonna stop us is this radiator I order a brand new radiator yesterday but I also rerouted the line for the overflow tank so I just use this six a in line and I just secured it with these guys and now it's a more elegant solution it's a lot more clean this one is still leaking just a little bit it's not gonna stop us from driving but it is a painting but so I also found a little leak on our sandwich plate there's a leak where the oil pressure adapter goes into and that's gonna just need to be tightened up I didn't tighten it up as of yet because it's a really small leak and it's just kind of hard to get to and I wanted to get this car on the road because we're actually losing daylight also I found this air filter so don't judge me I did clean it I did really so it is clean but I really don't like the look of it I just don't want any like squirrels or something to get sucked up into the turbo but let me show you how this thing sounds now there are a few caveats while you're in here because the gauge cluster basically does not work I have to do a little bit of wiring for the speedometer I did get the speed sensor adapter and the tach I have to wire it up in the ECU I have to do some sort of wizardry and the fuel gauge works that's perfectly fine but the coolant temperature gauge I have that sensor on order and it should get here in the next day or so but that's not going to stop us from driving and let's let's see how she see how she do okay all right I was a little scary oh wow that sounds really smooth it sounds very smooth alright let's let's get this thing on the road I just want to see how it drives I don't care that there's no front on it I just want to drive down the street to see if everything is ok ok I moved it outside it was a little difficult to do can't can't be too safe here so this is gonna be a weird one because this car is cosmetically not finished but mechanically it's pretty much there so the gauges don't seem to work but we get this out of here I have my trusty laptop and hopefully it's not gonna say danger too manifold we're just gonna take it for a quick ride around the block just to see if everything's okay and this clutch is it's pretty touchy again I have to press the clutch pedal all the way in and I don't have a shift knob so it's a little yeah not not exactly the most ergonomic thing in the world so you have to ride the clutch a little bit up [Music] but other than that it's pretty smooth it's not not bad at all okay so this is not gonna be some crazy drive with boost but it's the first drive with this new engine setup wow that's that's fast shifts you already feel a difference [Music] Wow and I've never driven on these tires on these wheels and with this suspension goes and all the gears fine there is a little bit of chatter but that's normal goes on the fourth just fine I hear something rubbin [Music] and check [Music] I don't see anything might be these mud guards or just some it's probably just something loose but nothing seems to be exploding everything seems to be all right sorry I'm not giving you more commentary I'm just very nervous I want to see if it goes into boost a little little bit okay let's do this second here a little bit Oh [Music] Wow that is that is really good Wow [Music] all right oh boy Wow I can't believe this is the same car five days ago this thing was making a hundred and twenty horsepower and now just give it a little bit of throttle Wow oh my god we got wasted opening up that time that differential is Wow now I think the test drive is good yes good car good car it's noisy it's loud it's hot because the AC doesn't work yet but this is so good you guys have no idea this is ah oh my god so good guys I know that we've been on an adventure together over the last five days we've been working non-stop not only me but Jared Jared is the MVP of this entire build he basically put together everything all the parts lists he even brought a lot of the parts for this build I thought that I bought everything and turns out I bought like half of the things I needed so we got enough we basically got enough to make another one of these on a different setup so this is it's more than I can ever imagine and it's just at the beginning so right now I'm gonna get this inside I'm gonna put the front end on and I'm not gonna do too much more because this car is gonna go to the paint shop because obviously the paint needs some needs some work but after the paint shop then it's gonna go to the dyno and then I'm gonna do some stuff maybe some quarter-mile runs just some regular Supra stuff and I can't wait because this is gonna be a testbed of how much you can get out of a two hundred thousand mile engine the block is exactly the same but we just put a vvt-i GTE that's the turbo Japanese only cylinder head in addition we got a precision 64-66 ball bearing turbo and this is gonna make a lot of power and we have a real tile 44 millimeter wastegate right there with the screamer pipe not sure if I'm going to keep the screamer pipe but yeah it sounded kind of cool also we have this TRD real TRD strut bar with Japanese instructions I kind of figured out what to do there but I love the way it looks and the valve covers are tapped with 10 a.n lines going to an oil catch-can made custom we have a intercooler set up a greddy front mount with some CX racing intercooler lines we have a CX racing blow-off valve not sure from one change that it's a knockoff of the HKS also a CX racing power steering cooler we have a brand new battery we have battery tie-down CX racing radiator that I need to replace unfortunately and we have stock motor mounts believe it or not I did order some new ones but it's they just didn't fit with the brackets that I had also we have an error motive fuel pressure regulator with a flex fuel setup so this I can put in 85 and it's gonna actually make more power when we get a dyno tuned if you come down here we have those Jeep Grand Cherokee srt8 Brembo brakes front and rear and we have a ISF rotor package so those are rotors from Lexus IS F we have Koenig decagrams which look awesome these are the B fitment so these are the most concave that you can get they're concave even in the front and in the back there are even more so so it's a nine and a half in the front ten and a half in the rear wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport for S tires underneath the car which you can't see is a CD double O nine transmission that's actually not a CD double O nine it I think it's a JK 41 or something like that it's from a G 37 and 370z and they're supposed to be a little bit better than the traditional 350 CC do9 but we have a Tilton concentric slave we have a seven and a half inch dual disc clutch and I'm not sure who makes that but it comes in the collins adapter kit and collins adapters are the only major player in this game if you want to adapt any transmission to any engine basically they are your best bet they went above and beyond for this build and they gave me all the support that I needed and to make it all work I have this tweaked wiring harness you can see this tweak performance right there it's a milspec connector for the firewall and this had no issues whatsoever everything plugged in everything worked and the only reason my speedometer and stuff doesn't work that's because I don't have a speed sensor unfortunately the transmission does have a speed sensor so I'll have to get it from one of the wheel speed sensors that that is actually an addendum to the tweak performance harness that's not their fault this is all my fault but the the tweaked harness works perfectly and it works perfectly with the AM infinity which is down there underneath the fire extinguisher somewhere and also the CX racing full catback system but I did have to modify because I just got the wrong one I think I got one for a lexus SC and this one was obviously not a SC this thing is coming along and it looks it looks rough now but when it gets out of the paint shop it's gonna look like a million bucks and then I might sell it so it's been a long time I've been rambling I'd like to thank our sponsor Otto tempest calm without them I would not have this car I bought this car on Otto tempest just searching browsing window shopping like I always do so check that link in the video description it's free I use it every single day so go check it out and also thanks a lot to Jared thanks a lot to Tony the welding Jedi and thanks a lot to all of you for watching if you don't mind I'm gonna go clean myself up because I'm very very tired so until next time is me reminding you guys that on cars like this that now have awesome boost setups that I can only dream of when I was a kid you guys need to wrench every day [Music] [Music]
