[Music] [Music] long story short i think this piece comes off because we just kind of test fitted it and it doesn't really fit with that alpha intercooler there so that's in and we got a gtr front end what is up guys welcome back to a brand new episode from backyard boys and if you guys are new to this channel go ahead and lightly tap that subscribe button down below don't forget to turn on your post notifications and don't forget to smash that like button to show your support in this episode we are very excited we finally received this piece right here i'm gonna show you guys this is the old one this is the one that was damaged that we ripped when we were pulling but luckily the piece that we actually ripped was right here and this piece goes under here and it came with this piece so we got everything replaced and i already went ahead and heated up this area as you guys can see it's a little bit orangish just to bend this edge up so since the damage went down it kind of creased this thing down i went ahead and bent it up and now what we're going to do is go ahead and test the fender on put the hood on and if those two things fit what we're going to do is actually probably toss the whole front core support on all the radiators and basically build this whole entire car and in this episode hopefully if there's no more knick-knacks and no more problems we can actually get this car on its feet and uh with an assembled front end running probably warm it up and i don't know if we're gonna warm it up necessarily but i'm just saying that the whole entire front end should be on the vehicle there shouldn't be any of this loose dangling dangling stuff all over the front end this area of the car i got this pulled out there were some major buckles here i made it look as decent as i can i got a little uh three inch uh d.a knocked this thing down and painted it it looks decent so far i am going to paint it some more i'm going to spot her in and make it look all pretty um i just wanted it to not rust and stuff like that so i just kind of splotted it here i covered everything up and slotted it here although the fender does cover the majority of this here the fender covers all i still will make it look nice i'm going to try to fix this color fade over here as well that way you guys won't tell anything that's going on right here we have a brand new fender we got this recently so we're going to go ahead and test fit this we got a brand new hood on the other side of the vehicle this is actually an aluminum aftermarket hood if i'm not mistaken because the oem one is just ridiculously priced we'll make that one fit nice and neat this fender's already on the vehicle we don't have much more work i already uh i already unbent that hinge i played with this hinge a little bit so right now in theory what should happen is everything should um kind of pop into place the reason why i pulled apart this whole cowl up top here is because we have that front carbon fiber brace bar right here that's cracked so that's cracked and that's because this thing here was buckled in two places here and here and you guys can see the buckles actually and i actually when i pulled everything out this actually stood back into its place and it's nice and clean now so i'm very happy about that we did our measurements we actually measured the shrub boats here uh to the other side of the vehicle opposite measured from that side of the vehicle to one of these bolts oh this one here since the stationary bolt this one moves this one stationary measured it it's straight everything lines up so the car should in theory pass alignment should be good for everything uh the door here now opens and closes nice and easy how it should so um the gap on the door is good everything's lining up i'm very happy about how this front end is turning out let's get right to work we got to start measuring things up and making sure that the cosmetically it looks good now let's do it [Music] do [Music] so we got the course before the fender the hood on and i want to show you guys and share a piece of my excitement with you look at this gap here right look at it gap here is good next look at this nothing here is like final but i'm just saying like look how close it is to perfect if not already perfect this gap right for an aftermarket hood take a look at this gap hang on hang on hang on let me pop this up a little bit there's the hood gonna be sitting like that take a look at that pretty darn straight the loo the fender is still loose so that means we got some more wiggle room this hood hinge needs to go down just to tidy it's a bit now let's go into the other side this is very exciting right now look at this look at this gap boom pretty darn straightforward fender is still loose here it's very good you see that those are some signs of uh successful front end rebuild and another thing is those are some signs of meaning that we can get everything else into spec once everything's fully bolted down after paint and everything you know we can get everything into spec 100 we are going to play with the hinges a little bit just to get the edges of the fender perfect might be just the fact that the hood is have to mark it might be the fact that the original hinges are damaged not a big deal we fix the hinges make it look all perfect i guess from now on what we got to do is assemble the front end so basically we're just probably pop this hood right back off so it wouldn't be in the way and assemble everything in the front end all the radiators all this jazz here um basically take off all those damage put the new the good parts on that damaged parts toss them and then we do have an aftermarket intercooler aftermarket um charge pipes blow-off valves and all that stuff which is going to go on the vehicle right now let's get it [Music] well now that we know that the front end basically fits got the headlights in headlights are matching up to all the tabs um it's good we're happy we're happy with everything what we got to do now is actually figure out what is this because we ordered this a long time ago there's a fat intercooler there we got to figure out where all these uh charge pipes go where all this piping goes we got to figure all this stuff out but i think that's after if i'm not mistaken i got to see what how the order of operation goes but what we're going to do is go ahead and start transferring things putting in the radiator putting things together we're going to pop the headlights back out crank that hood up as high as we can that way it's going to give us a lot of light a lot of room to work with let's get it so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] so we are reassembling this radiator support up front a lot of complicated just kind of knowing the opera order of operation got that wire harness back there connected to all the fans everything the radiators everything is basically connected um besides the intercooler so the intercooler now is what we're going to take a look at and see how we can sort this out i'm pretty sure i got it figured out kind of i mean i kind of understand how it goes there's a couple of frame bolts on this side right there this mounts on so this can be the other one other side over there we're going to see if we can get this stored up i just want to make sure that this piece goes on um either after or before these boats here so i'm going to see so there's still a lot of bolts that are loose but i'm making sure that i can access all the make sure i can tighten all them prior to actually you know putting everything together and then having no access to a bolt that i need to put in trying to work everything properly let's get it done [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] take a look at this guys what a masterpiece man it's coming together a lot of funny stuff not too used to just like funny funny location of boats and stuff it's not like i'm not used to it it's just the fact of like it's a little bit different usually when we assemble of course for everything's kind of like once one after another here it's like weird you got to put it anyways long story short i think this piece comes off because we just kind of test fitted it and it doesn't really fit with that alpha intercooler there i'm gonna pull it off i'm gonna put the rebar on and then i'm gonna see if i can mock it up and make it fit if it's supposed to fit or maybe just i'll just see a picture or something maybe it's not even supposed to be there i'm not too sure just yet but we're gonna pump it off put this rebar on put the headlights in and then slap that front bumper on and see how this front end came together i am super darn excited it's been a heavy day of work today look at this piece now let's see if it all lines up [Music] wow like a glove got the long bolts here go ahead and put one in there and then bolt here so that's in and we got a gtr front end this is crazy guys this is crazy you know it was hit hard it was hit hard but happy that we were able to get to this point happy that we got this frame machine so yeah a lot of crazy amount of hour in this car just crazy amount interior is technically done exterior is just about done i'm saying like rafting rough drafting the easier work is the body filler you know and then painting it that's really just like stuff um cosmetic stuff you know like this stuff here is important it's structural frame stuff and we got it all out crazy um we're almost done with this episode we're gonna go ahead and put the headlights on make sure i hopefully they fit all nice put them on a couple of bolts and toss on that front bumper we also did get a bumper from a dealer so that piece was not cheap whatsoever but let's get it [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] i want to give myself a round of applause because this right here was nearly the toughest rebuild i have ever done and it is very close to completion we got the front end on boys listen to this listen all the keys right here let me show you guys you ready listen listen what is going on it's a lie look at this oh let me get the headlights on look at this so look at that yo no way is this thing going to drive out of this frame machine pretty darn soon so i want to go ahead and quickly explain what the heck is going on the gaps are not fully set this is just a very rough test fit make sure all the bolts line up make sure i can get all the gaps perfect i've explained this multiple times this is what i do prior to any kind of bodywork or paintwork this front end's gonna become it's gonna come off the car again you know it's gonna come off maybe two three times by the time everything's done who knows what is going on with the intercooler for example some kind of minor boost leak anything like that you don't know the car's been worked on prior to us so i just can't guarantee everything so what we got going on right now i can see all that really needs to happen is this hood just needs to go just this edge of the hood needs to go forward meaning that that hood this part of the hood needs to go front this part of the hood needs to go back guys do the do the math it goes and it moves this forward just that much right there which is going to open up this gap and close down this gap open up this gap and close down this gap everything's lined up everything is making perfect sense i hope you guys enjoyed this episode because we got a lot of work done i'm very proud of myself and thank you guys for watching and stay tuned to the very end if you guys want to support the channel please copy yourself some merch down below we do have uh some
