[Music] he sings this just as well as bruno if not better what up guys it's your boy matt from ramseyvoice.com and i am so excited that you're here because if you're here it means that you're ready for more amazing reactions yes i get a little carried away sometimes but today i'm super excited because i get to react to a brand new filipino singer that i've never listened to before by the name of chris lawrence which i understand is a uh possibly at the time of filming 38 year old filipino american guy so that's pretty cool maybe uh he lived in the u.s for a while maybe he was grew up in the philippines i don't really know uh i don't know a whole lot about his story uh on purpose i always try to come at these things super cold so i'm sure that you guys are going to tell me all about mr lawrence in the description but it appears that he is going to be doing a cover of the song versace on the floor which of course uh sounds like a cover at least i'm not positive but i think it's probably a cover of the bruno mars tune so i cannot wait to check this out and i want to remind you guys if you haven't watched my channel before go ahead and stick around until the end of the video because i'm actually going to show you a two-minute tutorial analyzing something that the singer is doing within this song and i'm going to try to explain a really complicated vocal subject in only two minutes or less i have no idea if i'm gonna be able to do it i i fail all the time i always go over time uh but the whole reason that i'm doing this is so that you guys learn how to sing better so make sure that you stick around until the end watch that like comment subscribe all that stuff you know what you have to do um but we're just going to jump into my favorite segment which is high note where we're going to be taking a look at one beautiful comment written by one of my fantastic subscribers and one horrible uh flaming uh plane crash of a comment and we'll just take a look at them uh right now okay today's high note is going to come from rainbow unicorn who said sorry for the word of my rude fellow filipino trying to say that three times fast rude fellow filipino rude fellow not all filipinos are like that sorry again love you rainbow i love you too and in case you're wondering what they're talking about i did a video on one of the filipino singers and somebody commented lechika which i guess means like fu or something like that in tagalog um and so i posted about it in one of my other videos and one of my other high note low note segments so um thank you rainbow for saying that that means a lot to me i know that not all filipinos are like that but all trolls are like that so if you see other people acting up like that don't be afraid to go in and just say hey man that's not cool we're all just trying to learn here bro it's just one big happy family of singing which is actually a perfect segue into our low note today which is going to come to us from jinky john kaliksto i'm not sure how i would say that kaliksto maybe i don't know uh who said are you really a vocal coach uh your voice was so annoying you don't judge morissette she's a very good singer you're a pretender unguskah english is an interlining national language i don't know what all that means and i have to be honest google translate didn't know what it meant either but it did know that uh unguskah meant you idiot so um thank you very much to jinky john jinky john thinks i'm an idiot uh i'll take it uh no no problem jinky yes i am a bit of an idiot sometimes and what he's referring to is that i wasn't aware uh when i first started reacting to morissette uh that uh most filipinos speak english so that was something that uh i learned uh the hard way for sure and i'm still getting hate for it so i i think we're done with that i'm not gonna react to any more comments from that if you see other people talking like that make sure you just say hey man that's not cool here okay now that we've got that out of the way let's jump into chris lawrence's performance of versace on the floor here we go oh we're back on the wish bus oh it's a wish exclusive [Music] there's [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] beautifully it's just beautifully narrows the door [Music] he sings this just as well as bruno if not better [Music] there's so much first and second bridge stuff going on here [Music] and one thing that i think is a little bit interesting is you can see some of the veins kind of stick out on his neck and this is not at all like he's he's experiencing a lot of tension or anything like that this is just a hard song to sing to sing that like for for as long as he does oh my god it's just really really tough no matter how good of a singer you are [Music] by the way bruno mars his neck is really tense when he sings his songs too it doesn't matter how high of a tenor you are some some songs are just hard to sing yeah okay just look at that mouth formation right there just that part go you know he's not go you know he's not going a full mouth there he's keeping it very narrow very very smart singer we got here very very smart [Music] up to the c5 [Music] look at that one the door is the one that he opens once he starts going into the second bridge that's when he opens [Music] [Music] [Music] he's got so much flexibility in his voice it's crazy [Music] is there somebody else is there a guitar player in there or is this all to a karaoke track it's impressive yeah [Music] hey [Music] i like the way he's connecting with the [Music] camera [Music] take it [Music] take it off for me for me for for me [Music] so an a flat on the floor man what a performance oh my god chris you are amazing i think that you sing that just as well as bruno mars uh if not better so i want to transition really really quick into our two-minute tutorial i'm just going to put two minutes on the clock because we have to talk about some stuff okay really quickly i want to talk to you about vowels in the first and the second bridge i think we should probably just preface this and say the first versus the second bridge i think that should be the topic today so when people talk about the bridge or the passaggio they're talking about the places where your voice is transitioning from chest voice to head voice chest voice to middle voice middle voice to head voice like whatever you want to call it basically there's two areas in which your voice needs to change something specific in order to sing your best there typically speaking in the first bridge you need to narrow your vowels you need to not spread spread your vowels wide instead you need to keep them kind of narrow in the second bridge generally speaking you need to drop the jaw or maybe even spread the mouth just a tiny bit wide in order to sing your best let me give you an example so if i'm singing the word uh on a g4 then that is still in my first bridge and i can go and it sounds great but as soon as i start to go up to like an a ah i have to drop my jaw slightly did you see that difference between those two now i'm gonna show you the difference in chris's voice real quick here okay here it is in chris's voice he's about to sing a bunch of g4s all in a row on the words turn out the lights now watch what he [Music] down does lights so he goes turn down the lights he keeps that turn down the lights riley turn down the lights now he's about to sing a bunch of a4s on ooh i love that dress but you won't need it anymore now watch what he does here [Music] so [Music] see how he opens as he starts moving upwards there that's exactly what you need to do in your own voice when you're working from your first into your second bridge just to nail everything home i know that this is going over my two minutes whatever but if i take that uh upwards you'll see i'm starting on an e4 and i'm moving up by half steps so do you see how i open up my jaw as i go that's the same thing that you need to do in your own voice when you're working through these specific parts and there's a whole lot of really good acoustic vocal reasons for this but i just want to keep things really simple first bridge narrow your vowel second bridge start to open them up a little bit guys if you found this helpful make sure that you smash that like button comment subscribe all that stuff check out my complete singing course master your voice where you get some feedback on your own singing voice as well as a proven system to improve it i'll see you guys next time
