before i begin the lecture i'd like to give glad tidings to the brothers that are here today listening to this lecture the brothers and the sisters of course um the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he said either biryani if you walk by the gardens of paradise benefit from it and remain in them and benefit from them and the sahaba they said ya rasulullah jannah what is the riyadh jannah what are the gardens of paradise so the prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam and he said the sittings of the sittings where the allah allah's name is remembered sittings like this and uh this these type of sittings are as the prophet describes the sittings of paradise they are like the gardens of paradise because these sittings lead to jannah and lead to the entrance of jannah so all those brothers especially those brothers that have traveled from other cities um past cities um and they're spending their bank holiday weekend learning about the religion of islam um bettering themselves increasing in their iman and they've given up their time for the sake of allah azza then no people come together in one of the homes of allah azzawajal reciting the book of allah studying the book of allah and also this hadith uh encompasses the son of the prophet sallallahu beneficial knowledge except that if this happens allah azza rewards them with a few things the first of these things is that um mercy encompasses them and uh and in tranquility descends amongst them so they feel tranquility and rahman descending upon them where the qaraham allah them with he remembers their name amongst the lofty companions amongst the sahaba so this is the father and the virtue of seeking knowledge and being in the ill and you know he said in status those of you who have iman and those of you who are given knowledge so with that being said the topic um that we will be discussing inshallah is uh iman and the reason why we are studying this topic or why we ha why we are all sitting here listening to this lecture and why we need to know about this topic is number one allah it is the foundation of al-islam in its entirety number two the reason why we are studying i'll mention the meaning of is that it strengthens our brotherhood it strengthens the uh it strengthens the believers iman and their love for one another also from the from the reasons why we are studying this topic is that you will not taste the sweetness of iman the sweetness of tawheed the sweetness of without also um from the importance of this topic is that love for the sake of the dunya eventually disappears if you love someone for the sake of this dunya then eventually this is going to this love is going to disappear something is going to happen sooner or later to cause this love in your heart to disappear if your love is based on uh on the dunya as for love that is based upon uh that is for the sake of allah azzawajal then this also this topic is without knowing if you don't know al you have no knowledge of this topic you will not be able to distinguish between the believers and the non-believers between the believers and the mujire mean allah says are we going to make the muslims equal to the mujire mean and are they going to be equal in the sight of allah azza fatah of course this is not going to happen also this topic is a topic that teaches us that brotherhood and uhuwa is only in al-islam is in islam there is brotherhood in islam not brotherhood in humanity but brotherhood in islam also um from this topic we learn that uh the importance of giving da'wah and we learn that this ummah is a ummah and a nation that has been entrusted to remove other people from the darkness of kufur the darkness of disbelief and ignorance to the light of tahid and knowledge and iman so this topic is a this is one of the reasons why we are studying this topic also this topic tells us that hatred um does not necessitate harm yani when allah azza and his messenger inform us and they obligate upon us to hate a people then this does not automatically mean that we are allowed to harm them in any way shape or form whether to to to harm them physically to harm them in any way shape or form and this and this principle is a principle that the and those who make fear and those who pass verdicts of upon people upon the muslims have misunderstood also from this uh this uh uh topic we learn that hatred is basically a natural uh it's a natural trait of a of a human people hate you will always hate something in this life um for someone to say you know i'm never going to hate anything then that person is is a liar yeah and as an example methanol if someone swears or insults your mother or your father today or they take their your wealth or they rob you um or they even back bite you or they do something to cause you harm in in your person financially or they do something to cause harm to your family to your wife you are automatically going to hate that person yeah and this is only natural um and it's a natural attribute of a human being to love and to hate what does is it is that it controls this and um you are instructed to make sure that your love and your hatred conforms to the love and hate and to to con conforms to the sharia and to what allah azza loves and hates so these are some of the reasons why we need to study this topic and we need to know this topic this topic is a great topic it is a beautiful topic that increases in our iman it is not a topic that instills it's not a controversial topic it's not a complicated topic it's a very simple topic extremely easy to digest and to understand and there is no controversy surrounding this topic it is a topic that if you really understand it you understand the adult islam you understand the justice in islam and how islam is a religion based upon justice and even though islam even though we are instructed to hate a certain people we are also instructed to be just towards these people and we are instructed to give them gifts to visit them when they are sick to um to to be kind to them um to to want them to love for them at the same time you know so the muslim and the believer needs to have this fit you need to have this understanding and we need to look at all of the muslims we need to look at all of the different um and the ayat together we cannot believe in some ayats and some verses and disregard others so firstly what is the meaning of so we have two words here we have we have al-bara so mahu al-wala sa is giving aid being loyal giving loyalty giving aid loving respecting honoring elevating all of these words mean and allah azzawajal he says he is the one who gives them aid he loves them he gives them comfort he aids them in allah he aids the believers he is the one who removed them from darkness the darkness of kufrin shirk to noor to the light of iman and then allah says well levi in a kafaru as for those who've disbelieved and their allies are the many things it can mean the shaytan himself it can mean iblis the one who is uh the one who is worshiped while being pleased are the heads of khufu and what do they do yukrijuna they remove them from the light and they put them into darkness when you have wala for someone then it means that you love them it means you are their ally it means you you show them affection it means you give them you aid them in vict and you try and help them and giving them victory um this is the meaning of as for al-bara then al-bara means it comes from uh from albert to absolve and to physically remain far away from something that you dislike so bara means has many meanings it means to hate it means to free yourself from to absolve yourself from it means to have animosity towards this is the meaning of al-bara and such as and many of the they say that there is nothing in the book of allah azzawajal there is no hukum there is no ruling and no mas in the book of allah azza where the adillah and the evidences of this hukum are so manifest and so clear to understand then so they say that the evidence is in the ayat that they are very clear to understand just by reading it they are in easy to understand so again is extremely is a simple topic it's not complex it's easy to understand however with that being said we need to understand this topic we need to understand this topic according to how the ulama and the scholars understood this topic how the self understood this topic um is the opposite of loving and giving being an ally to is the opposite of adawa which basically means hatred animosity etc um and then he says he mentions the verse of allah says says all those of you who have iman so allah azza he's speaking to who he's speaking to the believers those who have iman do not take my enemy allah is saying do not take my enemy and your enemy as awliya as allies show by you showing affection towards them by you showing love towards them so this ayah is while they had to delilah it's a clear the delilah in this ayah is extremely clear in that this ayah makes its haram and impermissible to love the enemies of allah azza to show affection towards them and to have any mawada towards them and ibn abbas um he actually explains um the concept of loving for the sake of allah azzawajal and hating for the sake of allah azza and he compares this love and this hate that's connected to allah azza to those people who love and they hate for the in for worldly matters so he says whoever loves for the sake of allah brother and whoever hates for the sake of allah and he um he he shows allegiance for the sake of allah um and he disassociates himself and manifests animosity for the sake of allah he says indeed you will only attain the love of allah azza by having this so if you want allah to love you you have to have this in your heart if you want to achieve allah azza's aid and victory then you have to have this in your heart and then he says and no servant will ever find will ever taste the sweetness of iman even if he has if even if he prays a lot and even if he fasts a lot until he has this he has this attribute yani let me repeat that again even abbas is saying that if you don't love for the sake of allah and you don't hate for the sake of allah azzawajal then you will not taste the sweetness of iman the sweetness even if you pray a lot and even if you fast a lot until you have this attribute in your heart and then he mentions and he says and he says that most people they are brothers to one another for uh for the dunya they are brothers to one another it for worldly matters so they show brotherhood and allegiance and love for one another because they benefit something in this world from each other with ali and this is something that is of no benefit eventually to them so many people he's this is ibn abbas saying this in his era so he's saying that most people they only are brothers to each other and they are only friends to each other if they're doing certain favors for each other but as soon as these favors end then that's it the brotherhood is lifted and al-fuday he has this beautiful saying where he if riba says and if backbiting happens brotherhood is lifted khalas this is the you can't claim to be the brother of someone when you're backbiting them at the same time there is no brotherhood if there's riba and if there's namima now that we haven't understood the meaning of then we have to know that it is a condition for your iman to be correct this is very important i repeat is a condition for your eman to be correct and isn't just about uh yeah any issues pertaining to believers and non disbelievers having towards disbelievers it's about even amongst believers themselves so in your heart the believer who prays five times a day and who believes in allah azza in the six articles of faith the believer who is uh manifested and this is a believer that you can see he's practicing this believer you have to love him more than the muslim who has major sins the one who smokes methadone the one who for example um may commit major acts of major sins um the one who sometimes prays um who does the method of the one who abandons his zakah so both of them have allah but the first is more practicing than the other so your wallet has to be more for the first and the last than the second so you have to love the one the first more than you love the second even though the second maybe from your family members he may be a close relative of yours this is the meaning of so the only reason you love the first the more he worships allah azzawajal um the more your love increases for him because your love and hatred is connected to allah azzawajal so even if that person for example he doesn't give you anything and he doesn't maybe he doesn't even give you salam and he doesn't give you anything he doesn't give you any gifts but the second one gives you gifts okay and the second one maybe invites you to a restaurant and to dinner etc right still that shouldn't change in your wallet and your love so your love should also should always be better for the first than the than the second and this is a very high level of iman that only those people whom allah azza loves are given the hidayah and the tawfiq to actually attain it and to achieve it because it's very difficult i mean when someone is giving you gifts and when someone is you know being nice to you for you to have a certain hatred in your heart because of the fiscal that they have so even your hatred in your heart for this person is uh a partial hatred it's not even a full hatred because you love them because they say you love them because of the iman that that's in their heart but you hate them i get because of the fisk that they have because of the fact that they are some of this they they they you know they they deal in drugs methadone or they commit xenomethylene oh they don't um you know they smoke cigarettes method and so this is so your love and your hatred is mutawazini and it's something that is controlled and this this this it's controlled with the mizan and with the scale of the sharia allah azzawajal he says and being allies to those who have disbelieved and then allah says how evil it is what their hands have um earned and answered allah if only they believed in allah when they be and they believed in the prophet and this is those disbelievers as awliya as allies okay however many of them are facile so sheikh al-islam in latimia in the explanation of this verse he says that allah azza he mentioned a condition the the short of iman he mentioned the condition of having iman and then he mentioned the mashruth he mentioned that from the condition of having iman from the conditions of having iman is having disassociating yourself from kufur and the kafirin this is very important and allah azza he says so you're thinking to yourself but how can we do this yeah and we live in the lands of the non-muslims we work with them we work with muslims that are not even practicing themselves how do we implement this yeah and if you're telling me that my iman is if i don't have allah then my iman is in danger subhan allah how am i supposed to interact with them this answer to that question is coming but firstly we need to understand this we need to understand the importance of this principle firstly once we understand the importance of this principle and what allah azzawajal has said about this principle and what the prophet sallam said then we will talk about how to apply this inshallah to allah in our day-to-day lives and one hour is not enough for this topic it's a very very important topic and a conference in and of itself and this topic requires a conference of its own however i'll go through the most important aspects of this topic inshallah to allah and if anyone has any questions afterwards then be in the letter and if we don't have time at the end then tomorrow or any when uh or or whenever you know i'll be around insha'allah you can ask your questions then so allah azzawajal he says he says with regards to he says so this ayah explains to us where our love where we should put our love and our legions in three things okay innama william allah indeed your wali your ally the one um who your love should be connected to the one whom you should love um and show allegiance to is allah rasulullah and his messenger and those who have iman and the believers and who are those believers allah goes on to describe them allah whoever um chooses allah azza as an ally and his messenger and those who have believed allah says they are those who are um they're victorious okay allah says all those of you who have iman do not take the yehuda and the nasara as awliya don't take them as awliya as allies as those who you you love you shouldn't have any love in your heart for them some of them the indeed they are friends for one another and allies for each other and then allah says whoever is shows uh befriends them whoever is an ally towards them for innahu minhum indeed he is from them indeed he is from them so this verse the misunderstood this verse and um they may take fear of the believers because of their su ulfah because of their misunderstanding of this verse the verse is clear yeah and the verse is telling us allah is telling us that we cannot have wala for the yahood and the nasara and arabic language has two meanings it means it means to reject and that's not the meaning of tawli here and it means the second meaning is to show allegiance to so allah says whoever shows allegiance towards them whoever has love in his heart towards them then he is from them ya any meaning whoever loves them as mentioned in the tafsir of this verse whoever loves them uh because of their religion whoever loves them because of their kufr so this person shows them love he loves the kufr that they are upon and he believes that their kuffur and their disbelief and their uh and their doctrine or their um their constitution for example is better than the sharia al-islamiyah and it is more munassip it is more suitable for this day and age okay and whoever has this so he loves them not for the world again so he doesn't he his love is because of their kufr because of their disbelief then in this case this is islam this is from the nullifies of al-islam and al-iman but if for example his love is because of a worldly matter because they gave him some wealth or because of uh any other worldly matter then this love this love is muharram is haram it can be mubarak in certain cases in in the case of for example a person who accepted islam for example or in the case of a person whose parents are disbelievers for example they're not muslims so we can't say to this person show them hatred in fact as we will come to learn insha'allah it is an obligatory upon that person to um show affection to his parents that are disbelievers and to call them to islam and to love for them and to visit them and to give them gifts but this verse is talking about if a person loves the disbelievers because of the kuffr that they are upon so it's important for us when we come across verses like this to make sure that these verses we understand them and we'll go back to the tafasir of the ruler allah azzawajal then he mentions the relationship between the believers themselves and he says the believers the believing men and the believing women are allies to one another and the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he said the prophet says the strongest from the branches of faith and iman is to love for the sake of allah azza and to hate for the sake of allah azzawajal and the uh is mentioned in many places in the kitab in the quran and the sunnah in fact uh uh in fact uh when the some of the companions were pledging allegiance to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam so he said ya rasool allah oh messenger of allah so he came to the prophet salam and he said oh messenger of allah absolutely yeah and stretch out your hand so that i may pledge allegiance to you and mention your conditions the prophet you pledge allegiance to me that you worship allah you pray you establish the prayers well and you disassociate yourself from the mushrikeen so as you can see this was one of the conditions that the prophet sallallahu placed upon the sahaba and one of the earlier scholars if you want to see and if you want to really look at the where islam is lies in the hearts of a particular people where islam lies in the hearts of muslims okay the islam the religion of islam how important it is in their hearts falafel don't just look don't just look at how they congregate and the crowds that are in the masajid praying filmography and don't be don't look at the number of the millions of them who say le baker bake in hajj however look at how they interact with the enemies of the sharia how do they show them any love do they show them anywhere look at their interaction with them their their their how their heart the love or the hatred of their in their heart for the enemies of the sharia making something that you love close to you and al-bara is albert is hatred and uh basically and disassociating yourself from that which you hate um and with regards to um then as mentioned is for the believers and it's basically to love them and to give them victory as mentioned um and as for muallah so you have wala lil muslim and this is wajib and you have wala lil mushrikeen and this is a haram so mushrikeen um can become kufur and it can become haram depending on the what's in the heart of that person so if a person for example has a well for the mushrikeen because of the shirk that they have because this person is is uh old he has he's overalled at what they've achieved methalene and he believes that all of the advancements in technology that they've that they've achieved is because of what they believe in because of the comfort that they have because of the that they have then this is an arc then this is a nullifier from the nullifiers of islam if he believes for example that their constitution is better than the constitution of al-islam than the sharia al-islamiyah or equal to it then this is kofur and this is shirk and this is a something that removes the person from the fold of al islam if this person believes that the there are aspects of this sharia today that we cannot uh we cannot apply and implement because it's basically because of the fact that it is out of date and um we need to apply other aspects or we need to take the or the constitutions of other people then this is also and this is a type of which is shirk but if a person loves um the mushrikeen due to a worldly gain and a worldly benefit because of for example it could be them giving him gifts or for example any other issue to do with the worldly f dunya then it becomes haram and impermissible was summarized perfectly by sheikh salaam ibn and he says it is upon the believer to hate for the sake of allah and to show allegiance for to to and to show allegiance and to love for the sake of allah if there is a believer then you have to show this believer even if he oppresses you so you have a believer and this person is a muslim he's oppressed you you still have to show him because him oppressing you does not remove the obligation of to this believer who has oppressed you and the proof of this is this is the statement of allah azzawajal when two groups from uh the believers if um they uh fight if they fight one another allah says for us and reconcile between them so allah azzawajal he names them as believers and in hadith the prophet sallallahu alaihi said is disbelief this coffer that the prophet salallahu is referring to here what type of kufr is it how do we understand should we think that this kufur is a kufr akbar the person from the mukherj of al islam or is it a kufridun as the sahaba and as the allah mentioned is it a kufur which is a lesser kufur that doesn't remove the fold of alice uh remove the person from the fold of islam but it is a lesser kufur and ani this hadith here where the prophet saw allah mentioned that fighting a believer is kufur is explained to us in this verse allah azza says if two groups of believers fight one another so allah calls them believers he doesn't so they have the iman so allah didn't make fear of them so although fighting the reason why the prophet mentioned fighting a believer is kufr because it's such a major sin that it's not just enough to say for sure it's actually kufur it is as i say whoever does this then this person this person has resembled the actions of the disbelievers because the disbelievers they fight one another but the believers the muslims they don't so this type of hadith is a hadith so if for example you're a student of knowledge and you're giving a khutbah then you should mention the hadith as it is without explaining it because if you explain it then it removes the the the effect of the hadith from the hearts of the general muslims right especially if you're in a land where muslims for example are fighting one another and they're at each other's throats right so but if you're among students of knowledge or amongst people for example who may misunderstand this hadith to be something that is uh yeah and it's misunderstanding had it to be uh to to to be something that it isn't then in this instance you should explain the hadith as mentioned earlier um so according to al sunaty al-jamaa your love and your hatred to people are three types so people that you love and hate are categorized into three different categories people that you should love and you should hate are divided into three different categories the first many you have joomla and people that you have to love in all circumstances a complete um unconditional love okay and they are the medin they are the believers okay they are the believers that do not have any major sins okay so you should love them completely so um the second group of people are those who are loved uh partially okay and hated partially so you love them so you love them partially and you hate them partially and they are the believers or the muslims that have sins major sins right so your love and your hatred is in accordance to their level of iman is in accordance to their actions so mytholon allah you love in the first group you love the ambia and the mursalien first and foremost and you love them unconditionally then you love the prophet muhammad obviously a special type of love then you love the sahaba as well unconditionally then you love the believers then the second group of people are the us who who have major sins so you love them because of their iman because they say okay and you hate them because of the fact that they have disobeyed allah azza in certain instances or in certain matters so so look your love and your hatred is connected to allah azzawajal you don't love them and hate them for your own sake you love them and you hate them for the sake of allah azza and the proof of this second group is that in uh the time of the prophet sallam there was a man who used to drink alcohol and he used to always be caught drinking alcohol and every time he's caught the head and the punishment of the one who drinks alcohol is prescribed upon him he's he's whipped he's lashed until one day as usual he's caught drinking alcohol again and then he's brought again to the prophet alaihi then the prophet hears someone saying may the curse of allah be upon him how many times is he brought here how many times the prophet sallallahu alaihi looked and he said don't uh curse him don't curse your brother and in another version don't help the shaytan against your brother for indeed he loves allah and his messenger yeah and look the prophet sallam he mentioned and he says he testified to his iman he loves allah and his messenger the prophet here is saying don't uh curse him yet the prophet sallallahu alaihi in another hadith he cursed the one who drinks alcohol the prophet said so the prophet cursed the one who drinks alcohol he curse the one who takes carries alcohol to someone anyone involved in the making of alcohol okay and distributing alcohol is cursed by the tongue of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam right so how come the prophet sallam forbade and he prohibited this person this companion to insult to to curse shari belhammer this man who was caught drinking hammer when the prophet himself salallahu alaihi wasallam he cursed anyone who drinks why because subhanallah we have to understand here look the prophet salallahu does not contradict himself the sharia does not contradict the prophet speaks with uh and it does not speak speak out of his desires he speaks with revelation okay everything that the prophet says so he doesn't contradict himself abedin so why why did the prophet say this a lot because because this person who made lan of al-mu'ayan he cursed him specifically he cursed this right the prophet sallallahu alaihi wanted to teach the companions and the sahaba that this person that you're cursing and the meaning of may allah remove him far away from his mercy this is the meaning of land when you're cursing someone you're saying oh allah you're making dua oh allah please don't have mercy ever upon this person make your mercy remove your mercy far away from this person okay so the prophet islam is teaching the sahaba that although this man did something wrong he made an error and he made a he committed a major crime which is drinking alcohol yet he still is a man and a believer who deserves who deserves that we don't curse him he deserves that this head that is being prescribed upon him is a uh is a um a a it is a basically a kaffar allahu it's an expiation for this particular sin so the prophet sallam is teaching the sahaba that you love him for his iman and uh the fact that he loves allah and his messenger you hate him for the hammer that he that he's drank okay yet this hatred does not necessitate and this doesn't give you the right to curse the believe this muslim and to say allah right and al-ahad this is proof that you know the scholars that you we're not allowed to curse a particular muslim we can curse the action okay and we can curse generally speaking and say whoever drinks alcohol is cursed okay but if we see someone who has drunk alcohol then we say to this person this the person who drinks alcohol has been cursed by the prophet sallallahu alaihi okay yet you can't go and curse him and say may allah the curse of allah be upon you so this is the tawazun in so this is the second group of people the third group of people is are those who you hate unrestrictedly and unconditionally so those who disbelieve in allah and his messenger they are those who have kuffur in their heart allah azza says regarding these people you won't find the people believing allah azza and the day of william and the last day you are dunamin showing uh being allies um or loving those who oppose allah and his messenger so this brings us to the next masala what is the difference between having wala and between having ma'am and interacting and treating others kindly treating disbelievers kindly treating them well treating your neighbors well what is does mean that you can never ever be good and you can never be nice to your neighbors who are disbelievers or who maybe even muslims that are not practicing la that that's not what means allah does not forbid you with regards to those who do not fight you for the sake of religion and who have not removed you from your land and to baruch that you are kind to them and you are just towards them indeed allah loves those who are just he mentions that this ayah is with regards to every person is speaking about those who have other and other nations or other at the end other religions those people who have other religions other than islam so these people allah azza here is telling us that we have to be kind towards them we have to give them da'wah so although you have the hatred in your heart for what they believe in but this hatred does not necessitate harming them in any way shape or form and this is the difference between the sunnah and okay he commanded us to love for his sake and to hate for his sake he commanded us to love the believers and he commanded us to hate the disbelievers yet at the same time allah azza commanded us to be kind to be just towards the disbelievers towards the non-muslims towards your neighbors towards the general population and the community and allah azzawajal um this uh is further epitomized in the hadith of asma binta abhi bakar radhela with regards to her mother who was a disbeliever she went to the prophet this is muslim she went to the prophet and she said rasool allah sallam my mother is going to come to visit me and she is a mushrika okay she's going to come should i be yeah and should i be kind towards her should i show her compassion should i establish the size of kinship the prophet salallahu said naam s be kind towards your mother and al-imam al-khattab he says explaining this hadith he says that he says that your your your kin your kinship and your family members who are disbelievers then he says that um that you are you should um give them if they are if they are poor then it is wajib and obligate upon you to spend upon them so if your father and your mother are disbelievers their muslim method and they are poor then it is obligatory upon you to spend upon them and to give wealth to them and to make sure that you are aware of their circumstance so this is wajib which means if you don't do it you're actually sinful and ibm he says that al-biru was he says that do showing a kindness showing kinship towards them showing um yeah and giving them gifts this does not necessitate having to to them because you're giving them gifts and you're showing them and there's a muslim you want them to accept islam at the end of the day right so you're giving them gifts and you're being kind towards them but in your heart you still hate the kufur and the disbelief that they have so this is important also mentions the same thing and ali imam al-bukhari actually has a chapter um in kitab he says he mentions the chapter of buying and selling uh buying from a disbeliever and selling to a disbeliever and he mentions the hadith of the prophet sallallahu alaihi where the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he bought he bought some basically some a young child a young yehudi child who used to come to the prophet and visit the prophet sometimes and this child became ill and when he became ill the prophet salallahu he visited him and when the prophet visited him the prophet said islam except islam and he gave him da'wah so this child looked at his father and his father said at qasim obey the prophet sallallahu alaihi so his father and so this child accepted islam and then he died and then the prophet said sallallahu alaihi alhamdulillah praise belongs to allah who has saved him from the fire and this is a very important hadith limada because there are certain muslims methadone they um show wala to the disbelievers so they invite them to their dawah centers for example right they invite them to their masajid metheland right yet they never give them dawah so they invite them and it's very rare that they say to them give them that and and and you know islam and they don't show them hasan al-islam yet subhanallah they may show them what they may show them wala they may even call them by asami fakhra they may even um basically praise them for something that they don't have because even praising them the um they said you shouldn't praise them but yet they don't give them any dawah so in reality they have more um rahma and mercy towards these towards the disbelievers and towards the general public than these jama'at that only care about popularity they only want to be popular with these people that's it okay but ah honest towards them when they see these people methadone and they are speaking to them even if it's in your workplace as well or any in any sphere in the community they explain to them the beauty of al-islam what islam stands for they explain whether he accepts or not is something else but they explain to them they say to them you can still accept islam so this is israel and you all heard um you know the story that sheikh muhammad when the ambassador the u.s ambassador visited and this was an ambassador a u.s ambassador visited him save yourself from the fire this was the shaykh so he wanted to interview him and said save yourself from the fire say allah about um calling um the disbelievers by um and basically um saying to them uh things like merry christmas so they they they speak about matters pertaining to are you allowed to um congratulate them because of their ayad and they say that this is haram islam he mentions that this is impermissible so saying for example merry christmas saying for example um on a happy valentine's day all of these things are not from islamic one and these are things that are impermissible and being kanika even if they do mention this to you and if they expect it from you yeah you can say and be honest and say that this is something that you know our religion prohibits i don't believe in it but you say you know you may replace this by saying to them for example things such as um i hope you have a good day methadone or generally speaking any things that may are mubarak but as for mithra and saying to giving them this taniya then this is impermissible ibn also mentions this um actually even mentions um that um you we are not allowed to give them al-qab kabira so matheran um you know you're not allowed to praise them and give them titles of great titles like for example yes or oh leader or oh methylene a great man or something similar to this why because of the comfort that in his heart this is and as believers we need to have is for our religion this is this honor that we have in our heart this this is easily epitomized in this day and age how by calling to islam by giving da'awa allah azzawajal says you are the best of people and allah azza just describes us why are we the best of people do you yeah and enjoying that which is good and you forbid that which is evil so al-wala to go back to the beginning of this lecture without there that you harm others and you're not kind and to to others um from the disbelievers in fact as mentioned earlier the prophet sallallahu alaihi he used to um visit the sick from the disbelievers he used to visit them and he used to basically while visiting them it wasn't just to visit them hakka that there was a muslim there was a muslim and this muscle was that the prophet sallallahu alaihi he uh wanted to give them da'wah so if for example you visit a sikh person and you visit a sikh person who's not a muslim this is an opportunity for you to save them from the fire because at the end of the day you have rama in your heart so ah so and they have mercy in their heart for everyone the prophet sallallahu alaihi was as allah azza described him we have not sent you except as a mercy for everyone for the alameen and al-islam the message of al-islam is rahman in and of itself it is mercy when you're giving dawah to people then you are having mercy upon them because if they accept your tawa if they apply your da'wah and if they accept allah then they will enter jannah and paradise and this is rahman this is a a um this is a mercy and this is so finally insha allah i'm going to ah inshallah um it's important for us to remember the conditions so in the next five minutes inshallah we're going to go through the conditions of so because itself firstly we have to understand the meaning of allah and the meaning of islam there is none no um nothing that there is no deity worthy of being worshipped except allah azzawajal and sheikh ruslan he says that the whoever understands this word then allah azza puts in his heart happiness and sweetness enters his heart and is why because if there is nephe and it's bad so is the negation there is no deity worthy of being worshipped so this is bara you're absolving yourself from other gods okay and illallah is if pat is affirmation and this is except allah azza so you're giving love and allegiance to allah azzawajal and um the for conditions of la ilaha are number one knowledge so you have to have knowledge of allah azza says if you're ignorant of you don't you haven't understood the meaning of allah number two is certainty allah says the believers are those who believe in allah and his messenger and they have no shock and doubt the third condition is acceptance allah says when it is said to them allah they are proud the establish they are arrogant and they say should we abandon our gods for this crazy imaginary and this uh any crazy poety and describing the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam the fourth condition is to humble yourself to humble yourself condition what you're saying in your tongues matches what's in your hearts allah azza says we have tested those who preceded them indeed we will come to know those who are truthful from those who are not truthful condition number six is um sincerity and allah azza they were not commanded except to worship allah in the state of al-ikhlas and finally the seventh and final condition of is to have love for this word and allah
