all right guys welcome back to another reaction video my name is James and today we are going to be watching Shrek um so I'm very excited um I have seen this movie Ed UFC because we're gonna be a little bit of a commentary I know sometimes you guys will like this but the reason we're doing this is because a I've only seen this movie once it was really freaking long time ago and B I have not seen the rest of the Shrek movie so we're gonna be getting we're gonna be beginning the Shrek series um I'm really excited is DreamWorks we've been holding on to this one for a while now Shrek is obviously iconic I feel like I know a lot of the like memes and or like Shrek me music around it but I haven't actually sat down to watch them um and I know there's some backstory to this movie supposedly about like the dreamers people being pissed about Disney or something so I don't know let us know what that is in the in the comments down below so yeah um as always philanthration is gonna into Shrek I am very excited about this yeah I actually don't quite remember much I know I've seen this movie once and I want to be honest but I don't remember no I'm sure yeah I'm sure I'm gonna be able to start to pick up on stuff when I get back into it the best honestly I mean not to start I mean DreamWorks is I love Dreamworks Dreamworks is just fire man oh yeah also this music is kind of amazing dang that's sick once upon a time there was a lovely princess oh this is cool because it's kind of it is kind of like parody it is parodying Disney straight up she had an enchantment upon her which could only be broken by love's first kiss she was locked away in a castle I also like how the art style is on point the calligraphy art style yeah yeah she waited in the dragon's keep for her true love and true love's first kiss [Laughter] oh yeah baby that is the greatest way to start a movie bro is this not the most iconic song of all time um I feel like sequels might beg to differ oh bro I left that they're just completely embracing the like the opposite nature of it all yeah that's cool yeah I like that they're they're kind of like you know like having fun with the uh they're doing like a cool opening credit sequence oh are they gonna attack us bring it oh my bro yes kill ogre I'm doing it man guys you just do not realize what you're in for he just needed some entertainment bro we're ready for this bro he's just trying to live I know his wife like he'll grind your battles for its breath yes well actually that would be a giant that's what I was thinking oh White oh yeah got the castle surrounded by hot boiling lava yours for the rescuing Princess Fiona the of Music bro everything is just so on point yeah [Music] did you miss the whole part about that castle with the lava and the but that's the silence I will make this Princess Fiona my queen is it like a bomb of information feels like it dang is this supposed to be it's like it's a small world the horror Shine Your Shoes wipe your face what is this movie [Laughter] for any reason the way is unsuccessful I like the arbor it's actually looking pretty cool yeah it's like a simplified version of like realistic yeah I like that though yeah I am willing to miss a true hero what is that I like how big he is compared to the other people yeah oh that's not fitting there you want to talk yeah I was excellent oh yeah I like little things like that like that windmill that the environment feels very um yeah are they doing little details about stuff even artistic look at that shot it feels it feels smoke yeah that's a really cool detail yeah that's super dude chill like she's not even that this is this is wrong supposed to be an ogre she's so set on like having it be like by the book Destiny or interesting aesthetic it's not like extremely realistic no storybook yeah it is but also yeah not in like a tacky way again oh my gosh show me the princess oh yeah she would be a princess if she onion let's forget Snow White and Cinderella oh yeah donkey Karena whole cast is oh Daddy's a little cherubs sorry about the lighting um that's an amazing movie dude it's like in every way shape and form it's incredible it's such a great subversion it's so funny it's so well done now that you told me that it was that there was some uh backstory to it I'm pretty sure I want us to tell us in the comments but I'm pretty sure well it definitely feels now I don't know if this is like when it happened but obviously like DreamWorks was like was Disney before and then yeah then like Disney does every whatever how many years pisses off enough of their animators to go make another Animation Studio uh yeah dude it was freaking funny I just love the parody of it yeah and I I don't know I think the characters are just so likable no yeah so aside from that yeah I guess I guess it it's almost unfair to just say it's parody because it's so much more than that no yeah the characters are all super likable like the story arc is well done it's like a legitimately profound message for kids like actually it's like all right it doesn't really matter what you look like like yeah there's some adult stuff there's some adult stuff in most animation stuff and I feel like most of that goes over people's heads and I don't know I feel like it's a cool message for like adults and kids and it's well done I also like the world in a very serious way like the fantasy world is just cool aesthetic yeah um the songs are dope all of the songs in it are dope Shrek is a great character that's just all great yeah I also like the uh the the vibe that it was given like just the choice of Music the the fact that they they didn't stick like specifically to like any sort of like accuracy or anything like that you know I mean for you know just donkey having sunglasses at the end like you know they're having like a straight-up parking lot sure sure sure that type of stuff it just makes it I don't know have this different kind of like not so serious Vibe I think it's funny it's really cool I I I I really enjoy the the feel that it gives yeah I agree and that's a that's a like I think stuff like that's underappreciated right like that's a creative choice and a risk yeah um that you have to take and I think they took it and it was cool so I I really appreciate that same I do um but yeah I don't know let us know obviously what you guys thought in the comments down below I'm excited because you and many people have said that Shrek 2 is arguably even better and more favorite anyway I mean
