Patented in 1913 Mantle & Co. Someone drilled hoses into the vise and lost a jaw Each jaw set is individually numbered I think the threads work-hardened over time Looks like this was originally japanned I am going to tack-braze this into position first Have you ever heard a robot dying? Flux bae I have covered the acme-thread rod in soot, in hopes that the brazing does not stick to it, and forms a nice thread I will have to remake this part I am going to attempt to weld these holes with pure cast iron rod so the repair colour matches perfectly Looks horrible, but might clean up well This is a long and slow flattening process Not too bad. The small holes will have to stay I am going to japan the whole vise. See my video on japanning for more information I must flatten each and every jaw by hand... It could drive a man crazy, luckily I am mentally stable...
