so uh something to rap about was actually my favorite song on alfredo um how did you go about getting tyler the creator on that song um i told somebody this earlier but i think tyler like um this he me on facetime when he was in l.a we were just chopping it up real casual and then suddenly out of nowhere he passes the phone to tyler the creator and it was a hell of a moment i was he caught me i was tongue-tied i was like because i love tyler i grew up watching him like just what he is culturally so it was it was wild it was all imagined it's the funniest [ __ ] so that's that was that was your gigi island so my gg island was tyler okay that's right that's fair never shoved the banana in his ass on stage he said it in the freestyle though he said i shoved a bundle of bananas in my ass in here showing big out mad love the other day i feel like he is a early influence on a lot of kids in this generation well what went wrong with tyler man at the camp flog nog man um i i just walk i just walk myself into a situation i kind of felt it backstage too i kept making i think i actually made a joke on camera someone showed me the clip the other day i'm like how long do you think it's going to take before they boot me off stage [Laughter] but um yeah i i just it was more jeering and trolling yeah it was booing you look really befuddled at times you was like i was i was a little someone [ __ ] with me like what what's going on i was a little i was a little confused because i just didn't like i was kind of sitting there going like you guys know frank's not here right so it's festival's been on for eight years and he hasn't come once and they thought this was the year and and it wasn't yeah so i mean really upset yeah i think you're in that position well i think tyler was upset i got a lot of you know me and tyler have a lot of respect for each other a lot of love for each other and you know i think he went out on a whim asking me to to do this and i had to change my schedule around for it and um i um yeah i just i i think he i think he thought it was gonna go over really well uh especially like you know like feel no ways and wu-tang forever were like his his requests feel no ways there that's number five oh yeah that is number five yeah yeah feel no ways and um and and wu-tang were his requests and i think he just thought like everyone's gonna love this as much as me and um yeah they just that's why you lost the crowd a little bit yeah they were just they were out of it from they were out of it from uzi's second song i mean they were already like rocky came out yeah and yeah you can bring it and rocky came out and tyler and rocky are like brothers so people are excited to see rocky because he's like part of the you know golf wang family and then uzi came out and they showed him love and then he tried to do a second song and they did not show love on that second song that was when i got worried i was like oh [ __ ] they're not cheap and he hit the shoulder moves and and then i came out and like the first song or two was was good they were going off but at the end of the day i just i knew right away i'm like they they came to see a different show and it didn't matter who walked out i don't think they wanted to see their guy and so you know and it was like 2 000 people out of like 50 000 or whatever 30 000 but it had an impact enough for me to be like i walked off stage like my next songs were about to slap the place like i had like non-stop sicko uh god's plan i had a bunch of joints to still do um money in the grave i was gonna do but yeah it just i just had to cut because i was like you know this could this could go really bad where if i over i've already overstayed my welcome if somebody throws something and hits me or like if there's just if this really if this tide starts to turn even more i already knew i was i already knew i was the talk of the the gram for like the next two days so i was like let me just but does it fire you up like the competitive nature of you like no matter what i mean you understand the circumstances but just like that no matter how much success people can still try to doubt on you one time right like no matter what yeah that's that's a really tough group of of of kids to make happy though you know like um it's just like a really like it's a cult it's a cult following you know tyler has built like a cult and it's a tough it's a tough group to um to make to make happy so uh yeah i just took it with grace it was a nice moment of humility um i remember like you know i would i remember old wayne shows where like one person would be like yell while he's talking and he'd be like [ __ ] this problem and i was thinking like ah should i pull the wheezy baby one time and just go now it was it was it was all good you know before tyler went on funk flex and spit a homosexual freestyle that was one to make everybody feel uncomfortable as [ __ ] that was the best [ __ ] i don't think anybody else in hip-hop could have done that and made it it made it dope what if he did that to you what if you just happen to be on an interview with tyler creator but what if he spit a verse and he was like you know me and nori snoring you don't like him you don't like him oh like personally you don't like him i don't think he likes me i don't i don't i think there's no i don't think there's anything like that like he don't like you or you don't like each other he wasn't that pharrell's friend oh i can't i can't talk about that trying to say hi to him he wasn't cool with it he tried like he's like oh [ __ ] i don't want to say how do you make it i'm a legend without you tyler [ __ ] you tyler company and i'm so glad i'm getting these get this off get this i got these bars
