in this video we're going to learn how to absolutely crush the enemy with the fcr on the ah 64d [Music] [Music] Apache all right guys today we're going to take a look at the fcr and we're going to do something that I've been telling you not to do uh if you know that I've been talking about using the fcr and single scan I I kind of equate it to if you're sneaking around and you don't want somebody to see you you don't turn on your flashlight in the dark you you turn it on sparingly when you need to otherwise you're going to get seen uh but sometimes we don't really care if we're going to get seen and that's going to be the situation we're in today so out here uh at way point1 so it's really off in that direction there is a tank company of about 16 18 vehicles I remember how many I put but uh there there's quite a bit of Tanks uh some apcs and some uh air defense and it's just me and I've got a fully loaded 16 Hellfire Lima model with a radar on top and we're just going to go out there we're just going to do some damage so first of all I'm going to go ahead and bring up the fcr and I'm going to change my acquisition source to Pilot helmet site so the fcr you can see it up here is moving with my head so I can make scans and what we're going to do is just take off and go look for these guys and then uh just Ripple off as many shots as we can on one pass and see what kind of damage we can do so let's get to it now a couple things we got to remember and think about while we're heading into the target the range on the fcr is very limited okay so we're only going to start picking stuff up at about seven or so K maybe 8 K just kind of depending um so we're already going to be inside of our wz for our Hellfire so that weapon engagement Zone we're already going to be getting close so once we start getting into range I'm going need to remember to slow down a little bit uh reduce my closure rate second we do need to understand that the missiles have their own onboard radar all we are doing is giving them The Sweet Spot hey go look for this thing in this area but once we launch that missile it may pick up something else particularly in this situation where I've got a lot of vehicles mixed together my expectation here is not that I'm going to destroy every vehicle in this company but as you've probably heard me talk about if you watch my other videos uh I'm not interested in destroying every single enemy all right if I destroy eight out of 10 tanks or eight out of 12 tanks I have effectively destroyed this tank company it's not going to be able to continue its Mission and that's really what uh the difference is between sort of real life and things that we kind of get hung up on when we play DCS we try to just kill every uh red mark on the board other thing that we're going to do again is we at this point we don't care if they see us the best thing they have in support is a shilka so of course this is situational dependent if they've got some Sams some longrange Sams and we're going to have some some issues uh but in this scenario you know somebody has created this situation to allow us to do that so let's kind of paint that picture let's say that we've uh the background of this is this unit has been found and and some of its longer range air defense has been eliminated to allow us to do this attack okay aaiwa could do that okay sneak in find that they've got an sa8 or something protecting them use its one or two hellfires that's got on board destroy that system and now it allows the Apaches to come in and do the Lord's work so that's what we're going to do I'm going to go ahead and arm the aircraft so again what we're going to do is just get into range once we start uh picking them up on the radar we're just going to start Rippling off the missiles I'm going have to slow my closure rate as we discussed and try to uh prevent myself from getting too close but I also want to get all the missiles off that I can another thing I can do and I can visually see those that Mech company or that tank company out there starting to form up uh and they are on the move I purposely put them on the move to show that that's going to add a little bit more challenge for the missiles okay so again we're not going to uh expect to destroy every vehicle out there but I've got them in sight and since it's going off of my head I can go ahead and shorten uh the uh decrease the angle at which the radar is going to look so I can play around here I can make it very narrow that's probably a little too narrow it probably work but uh I'm just going to go for this uh this midsize range fan here so when I start scanning the radar is going to be more uh it's going to be quicker right so it's going to be more accurate it's almost like a a track while scan type thing so uh we're going to close our rate here I'm going to go ahead and just do a uh a scan we're starting to pick him up all right I'm going to go ahead and was my missiles aircraft is armed and we've got Targets in sight so I'm going just going to get a little bit closer make sure that I can get as many of them as possible in those scans all right we're at 7K I'm going to go ahead and go active scan all right so this is continuous scan we're just constantly scanning and we're going to start firing that's three missiles I'm going to start slowing down [Music] that's six missiles be 12 starting to get impacts out there I think that's 14 you see that time of flight is decreasing rapidly and I believe that's the last one I'm going to continue in make sure I've got them all I could pull up a weapons page but all right that is definitely all of the missiles 3 seconds for that last missile to hit no missiles on board so let's take a look just kind of eyeballing it one two 3 4 5 6 7 8 n probably 10 or 11 Vehicles destroyed out of 16 missiles fired so we' had some double Taps and that's to be expected but is there any argument that we have destroyed this tank company that absolutely meets the destruction criteria uh of of any mission that I've ever planned executed talked about in in theory right those guys are out of action so taking a look we've definitely gotten rid of all of the shilas because the radar is going to detect those air defense assets and engage those first those were probably those first Vehicles killed uh it's probably killed quite a few of the wheel vehicles and obviously several of the tanks but looking out here we've got looks like one two three four five six tanks remaining right so that's one aircraft we're flying around with one aircraft what about the other aircraft behind me so think about it in those terms I could have come in done that run and then 30 seconds a minute behind me another aircraft came in and did the exact same thing and he wouldn't even had to fire all of his missiles so just a quick way to show that using the fcr in continuous mode is going to allow you to do some things you can do that with the single scan the challenge you'll have with a moving enemy is that uh depending on how quickly you can get all the missiles off uh the radar data is not going to be as accurate for the missiles the missiles may have a little bit harder time finding something or maybe not again they're going out and they're just giving some general guidance and then they're looking for targets uh but I think this is a good demonstration of what the system is designed to do and kind of show some of its limitations as well but uh I would like to highlight once more that this is what it was meant to do just throw a bunch of stuff out at these guys and just Crush you know their ability to continue to operate and this is just one aircraft two aircraft would have done a number on that tank company uh plus more now you've got a company or a battalion of Apaches doing this across the front line you can imagine the amount of damage that you're going to do so anyway hopefully you got something out
