ranking Toy Story movies and shorts cus i was sick for 2 weeks

ugh being sick sucks yeah it finally happened i got the big c anyways i spent my sick week watching the entire toy story franchise and to celebrate light year's disney plus day i decided to rank all the toy story movies and shorts not the lightyear documentary though cause i don't know do you care where the documentary lies on this list [Music] listen i had to sit through ten [Music] ten of these shorts i don't need forky to be the main character pixar i've had enough of this dude why are you using a monster's ink soundtrack in your toy story short is it so i can like whatever this fork face has to say i i don't want to talk about this anymore what is love is the best one because it has bitey white whatever [Music] there are three toy story shorts in the season of pixar popcorn and they all made me depressed it's supposed to satisfy that itch you have when you want to see more of your favorite characters without warranting another movie for them but no popcorn you didn't do that for me i just sat here watched an outtake of a key and peel ramble while being reminded that my iconic duo are no longer together i just [Music] toy story treats are these interstitials interstitials interstitial oh thank you that played on abc in 1996 if you're really really craving for more toy story content and you don't want to sit through 10 shorts of fork face oh god they're totally not all right here on youtube wink some of my favorites are the one with the new buzz lightyear commercials and the one with the blocks lamp life has all the scenarios bose baby lamp went through i mean some of them are funny but did we really need a good chunk of this listening to kids crying also i know jim hanks does a lot of the woody voice work when tom hanks is too busy but this one just felt so off not my favorite [Music] okay this is the fifth time i'm trying to talk about this without going into a rant so here we go to say i'm conflicted about toy story 4 is an understatement if you start watching this movie i will bust into your house and beat your tv up i just hate this this is no doubt the prettiest movie in the franchise i mean look at the colors the textures the lighting but if i have one word to describe this movie it would be manipulative this movie tries so hard and uses familiar soundtracks and stunning visuals to gaslight gatekeep girl boss you into thinking that yes i actually like toy story 4. i don't know what happened to woody toy story 4 made him a bumbler now like they just sucked all the charm and pettiness out of him now he just stands there watching bo not being over her after all these years just like he's not over andy apparently as if the whole ending of three wasn't about letting go of andy to stay with his family knowing that they'll still be with each other even after separation they purposefully gave woody a freudian slip of andy's name so that the whole plot doesn't cave in on itself not to mention bonnie still played with him in this movie so what do you mean saving fork faces all you have to do what are you talking about buzz is just not here buzz has a conscience toy story for we all knew you had the whole inner voice gag just so he would have to leave woody alone also hitting a carnival ride at full speed he he's plastic bo peep is an athletic strategist both in the flashback and now i guess why does she call buzz her moving buddy is it so the audience would think this movie is good because it gave a subtle gnaw to the original they weren't moving buddies because buzz's moving buddy was woody that was the whole climax of the first movie jessie is back to having claustrophobia and stays behind with the gang wait movie did you did you switch these two gabby gabby is probably the most prominent when it comes to manipulation i mean the voice box scene is probably the most uncomfortable scene i've ever watched in pixar's history it just felt eerie and wrong and i felt sick watching it but then oh look how happy she is do you hear the peppy music wow she's finally gonna get a chop wow she finally got a child this girl held a toy hostage almost ripped woody apart to get what is basically an organ manipulated him when she failed and you're saying we're supposed to root for her i guess duke kaboom is funny cause keanu reeves is funny but then again i can say that with every animated movie that has keanu reeves in it ducky and bunny are also funny but they're just keegan michael key and jordan peels so i recommend you guys to watch this movie with the director's commentary on disney plus it seriously felt like those long villain monologues but instead of taking over the world it's about tricking the audience into liking toy story 4 when the whole movie felt like an out of character fan fiction water toys are ravers [Music] you know as someone who always feel bad about the tossed toys around the mcdonald's parking lots the idea of a happy meal toy therapy circle is super clever [Music] toy story of terror is a halloween special it's a fun take on the combo of a monster movie with a stuck in a motel premise shout out to al from toy story 2 for spending another 2 000 on woody only to never get him i'm really happy seeing jessie conquer her claustrophobia in this special and i'm glad it played a key part i think the villain's side hustle as a toy reseller is so funny because he only lists toys his pet would steal also combat carl jr's voice is like combat carl nightcore my favorite joke is woody and buzz playing charades with mr potato's hand when it was just pointing up we love seeing the duo sharing a brain cell my only real complaint is the meta commentary from prickle pants which is a hit or miss for me usually a mist though now this is how you do a tie and opening pixar write that down it just makes me want to sit down my couch in my comfy pajamas and eat cereal it's got great character chemistry some good jokes the little green men are cute and more importantly not annoying my favorite aspect of this movie has to be the nos to tomorrowland and the overall tomorrowland space aesthetic if you've never seen this or haven't in a while i'd say give it a watch it's a fun time i actually really like lightyear it's been so long since i can go watch a pixar movie in theaters and not on disney plus because some mouse is being a jerk and not letting me see luca and turning red and imac it's got a lot of heart some clever references to the franchise my favorite being the traffic cones and just a pretty good time the visuals in this are absolutely mind-blowing and i love the production design oh my god it felt like everything in this movie could be simplified into their toy cartoon counterparts while not being too cluttered on their own and i want 10 socks i also really like this take on buzz he's pretty different he's more closed off but it was really heartwarming seeing him open up to others and growing less reserved as the movie went on if they ever do make a sequel i would love to see more of his casual fun side now that he's moving on from his guild zerg's design is super cool i mean just look at it while he's a good conflict in buzz's journey for this movie i wish he did more than just completing buzz's arc my real big complaint is the opening like really pixar this is the best you can do bland text what's this concept art for then you already did a good tie-in opening before like what happened also the ad campaign was not good but pixar's ad campaign has always been 50 50. overall i enjoyed it so go check it out [Music] hawaiian vacation is my favorite short in the toy story tunes collection the new outfits are adorable and i'm always happy to see the whole gang get into more shenanigans it's snappy colorful and i find myself revisiting this one a lot [Music] toy story 2 is so weird to me on one hand there are a lot of incredibly creative scenes in this movie the traffic cones woody's roundup collection the repair jesse's backstory just to name a few the climax at the airport is so exciting and fun i just oh i love it so much i also really like the new additions to the gang jesse bullseye wheezy zerg tour guide barbie they all have great personalities while blending well with the rest of the cast on the other hand i do think that it's the weakest of the toy story trilogy yes trilogy i don't know what would make you think otherwise shoo shoo i just find my brain drifting a little between the scenes i love also not crazy about stinky pete as a plato's villain i think al is enough of a threat to woody and the gang like do we really need stinky pete don't get me wrong overall it's a terrific movie the writing is good it just doesn't have me in a chokehold like the other two [Music] toy story that time forgot is a christmas special howdy everyone that sure was a fun christmas boxing day special okay i love the small group we got for this it's a nice blend of old and new characters and they all play off each other really well also the crayon scene i just i just love them so much the plot is pretty simple it's just like toy story if the kid is rich it's just such a solid and fun special and i actually watch this even when it's not the holidays which says something because i can't really stand holiday movies unless i'm seeing santas everywhere not to mention this has my favorite canon toy story ship trixie and maximus i mean this bad boy can fit so many good tropes in it height difference friends to enemies to lovers mutual pining heart eyes i mean the way this dinosaur looks at her i just ah there's a bonus opening sequence for the battle source cartoon made by the studio trigger like what more can you ask for anyways go watch this if you haven't it's so good toy story is so good but i think we all know that woody and buzz are probably my favorite duo in pixar sorry wally and eve i'm just such a sucker for good redemption arcs and rivals to lovers come on pixar look at this ride or die bond come on every scene in this is crafted with so much love and care and it's hilarious i can't tell you how many quotes and references i use day to day you uncultured swine sid is such a sadistic villain like this kid is crazy anyways go watch toy story again what a classic [Music] toy story 3 is the perfect toy story movie character-wise i love having the core gang together and just the overall found family vibe the new characters are all very charming and oh my god they got totoro lotso was definitely an improvement on the pixar plot twist villain it's still a plot twist but it gives us time to learn his backstory while also enjoying his evil presence sidenote i'm pretty sad buzz got reprogrammed but we did get spanish mode buzz so visually the colors in this one just really pop it's no toy story 4 graphics but it still sucks you in to deliver all the emotional punches like the dump sequence heartbreaking this monkey horrifying just look at him what i think what makes toy story 3 so special is its ending it's so emotionally fulfilling and shows us what a great bond this family have with each other and with andy that last solon partner is just so warm and seeing the toys go on to having more adventures in a bigger family just leaves you in a good mood i really can't think of a better way to wrap up this trilogy other than that [Music]
