clearly Ram dealers just aren't listening to what the consumers are looking for a cost-effective vehicle instead with slogans like it's a fast truck it'll do 0 to 60 and 4.6 seconds sport trucks literally need to be a staple for us the new Ram rho pushes out more horsepower per dollar than all of our competitors if you're looking at the repositioning of our entire lineup from the Warlock all the way up to the legendary Cummins the value proposition has increased significantly when you look at the window sticker you'll realize this is not some sort of decoy to get people excited about a truck built out of unobtanium off-roading and Recreation need to be something that we cherish get behind and create a value equation that our customers are going to enjoy so Ram CEO Tim kisc promises the new 2025 Ram rho to be the truck that everybody's looking for with technology that exceeds anything if some from of its competitors from GM from Ford and the Raptor they're definitely providing a truck that is going to beat all of those other sport trucks combined it has a luxury level of finishing that everybody's going to love everybody will appreciate what about the price tag that's what people have been asking for not everybody wants a $100,000 truck somebody might be looking for that 4 or $50,000 truck that's well decked out and all these fancy slogans and phrases are all well and good but if you talk about value proposition RAM and Dodge clearly don't align with that idea now they are literally trying to push some of their product line and they do promise to realign some of their base MSRP price tags in the upcoming year and model lineups I mean if you look at some of the trucks that we're looking at today a Bas V6 4x4 has cost over 50 Grand RAM and stellantis even Jeep seem to be leading the truck market crash I mean when you look at trucks we've got L trucks lined up for days and more trucks lined up for days here yet we've got Vehicles like this little unit we have 1500 hemi e torque right there and there's currently a recall on those by the way we have definitely all kinds of different trucks here e Hemi e torqus there and we have have a whole host of other trucks some classic some more basic pickup trucks and there's no shortage of trucks around you know and I've been browsing here a little bit on my phone looking at for some of the deals and you know what even some of the local dealers are cranking prices down it shows like they're actually starting to make some move but when I browse some of the Lots I go over the Ford lot they have less trucks they have a lot less to choose from in the F-150s and even when I go to the GM well GM has a lot of inventory as well but it feels like has a lot more and why could that be so what's so special about the rho it's a very versatile off-road machine that has a significant amount of luxury plugged into it and it is effectively available for orders come this week and by the third quarter of this year you should definitely see these trucks Landing in the local Dodge Ram dealerships but it comes out of caveat yes it's still $69,999 as base price now they do brag that it's a far cry from the TRX that would cost you closer to $100,000 but they also brag that it's going to be significantly cheaper than the Ford Raptor which is one of its direct competitors now also to note now that Ram has essentially given up their V8 engines not everybody wants to get in line with this turbo inline six-cylinder engine but that hurricane engine is going to be driving the majority of their full-size pickup trucks here in 2025 and in doing so they have to provide extra motivation pardon the pun to get people in the door it's bad enough that we've seen price increases enough to choke a horse I mean let's go take a look at some pricing there's some one T pickup trucks up there diesel oh and what do we have here a compass and a compass here with a sticker of $47,375 Workhorse truck here this is the biggest baby that you can going to get for without going full Commercial Truck Yeah they have the great Ram deal on there and it's a great looking unit I mean if you want the biggest nastiest truck to pull your fifth wheel this is it this is going to haul the biggest nastiest weights and loads so it should come with a bit of a price tag let's take a look how much this vehicle actually costs let's go I think there's a Monon sticker on here and this truck here is $105,000 $1 5 grand right there if you can see it $105,000 on the sticker for this and here's another one let's take a look over here and see what we got and right here we have $105,000 seems like the common theme Here you've got to pay over six figures to get into a new diesel pickup truck here and oh boy here's another one 117 $117,000 for this unit here this is a Ram 3500 laramy crew night Edition 4x4 so you get the night Edition 4x4 crew cab but it does even have any of the extras so you know when you're buying these things you got to dress them up and this one's not a duly either by the way so by the time you put the running boards you put some extra uh you know you need mats here there's no doubt about it you need some kind of mud mats there mud guards otherwise you're going to ruin the paint but $117,000 for it looks like a 3/4 ton essentially night Edition or a one ton single rear wheel drive and so the theme goes on and on here we've seen trucks all over the place we're also seeing lots of jeeps here too as you cycle down we see all kinds of Saharas there's lineups of jeeps to go for days all sorts of Wranglers this color that color blue Greens Greens black we got Silvers we've got all kinds of rubicons and the like there's all sorts of jeeps around here to pick from they're not selling that's the thing this feels like it's pretty much a crisis now last time I filmed film this video or it was probably a few weeks back this Jeep was still here right and that jeep was there so we know these Jeeps are not selling so it's clearly an indication Jeeps that was like a month ago when I filmed that so 30 days already now we also know that a lot of these vehicles the Rams the Jeeps they tend to be some of the worst offenders in terms of sitting on the lot so the the time that it lands off the truck to the time that it actually gets to the sales to the persons that the owners the new owners hands should be the average is around that 72 days but unfortunately what we're finding with a lot of Jeep products and RAM Vehicles is it's not 72 days it's closer to 130 140 days and clearly they're just not selling but why and why aren't they actually adjusting their prices so they can sell we've seen half ton pickup trucks current generation go from anywhere from 50,000 for a base V6 two wheel drive all the way up to $100,000 for a half ton pickup truck that's right a, 1500 Ram all decked up with 22-in rims sunroof leather interior and the works but at $100,000 it absolutely seems ludicrous but now prices are changing now Ram promises to trim those price points down and you would expect to see 4 to $110,000 decreases in the base MSRP prices of the 2025 Rams the real question is is that enough to bring customers in the door please leave your comment section below and you tell me if you feel that that is adequate incentive to go with there and spend your hard-earned dollars on a new Ram the executive said Ram needs to be more focused on sport trucks beyond the new rho and those particular units would include the Warlock the rebel the 2500 HD Rebel as well as the Power Wagon which currently makes up about a third of the Ram pickup truck segment and Bob broer dorf which is Ram's operations officer says sport trucks need to literally be a staple for us of the beefy pickup trucks which place a focus on off-roading and Recreation it needs to be something we absolutely cherish get behind and create a value equation that our customers can support So at the top of this lineup the rho does promise to be outfitted with the top engine the hurricane high output version that produces 540 horsepower just what the doctor ordered how about a 400 horsepower with minimal technology and something we can all afford for say $38,000 and RAM is said they're no longer putting in that 702 horsepower v8 engine that you found in the TRX and so when they talk about value proposition even though it's lower cost than the TRX you're getting less truck than the TRX so is it really that great of a deal so here's a nice thought the ram Executives actually took it for a drive and they said that it feels lighter more potent than one would actually expect due to some of its tweaks and tunes of the air intake and the exhaust tuning they said it can do 0 to 60 and 4.6 just what we all need the truck offers an array of driving modes utilizes changes of damping wheel travel big bump tuning that makes it capable of romping through the sand dunes while still being able to tackle its duties carving through the Canyons when you possibly need that function too so to be quite honest it sounds like a lot of fun and we're all having fun talking about this but where the rubber really hits the road is when we talk about pricing and we know round prices have gone up almost exponentially in the last 3 or 4 years making almost every one of their trucks cost prohibitive at least for the very people that typically like to drive pickup trucks it's middle class trades people regular consumers middle class that just enjoys driving a truck to pull their boat to the lake on the weekend take their load of junk to the dump and do even small construction duties that's what trucks were ultimately made for and a lot of customers are now grasping at the thought that they can't even afford to buy a basic half ton or 3/4 ton truck that can actually satisfy those needs here's an example the cheapest dirtiest Ram that you can possibly get your hands on right here look look this even has just plastic plastic you know it has basic Wheels small 16-in wheels has these look very basic no running boards here and look nothing in here either very basic and Plain Jane what are we dealing with here well it's a 4x4 at least and it has a little trailer hitch which that's kind of Handy but in fact this vehicle is their base model this is a Ram 1500 classic Tradesman quad cab 4x4 yeah what is that that's basically their base model base model it actually only has the 3.6 L pent engine in this one here but at least it's 4x4 so if you want to do real truck duty this might not be your best bet but it gets you a little pickup truck however this truck here they're listed at $56,950 so you're at 57 almost $57,000 for this you know this Ram 1500 classic Tradesman and to add to that it's a 23 model year that's right 23 model year and that's the thing a lot of rams stantis the Jeeps we're finding a lot of 2023 is and even 2020 2s now Ram they're struggling they they're trying to pull out all the stops figure out what it's going to do to get people in the door I'll tell you what it's going to take to get people in the door and I see it in the comments all the time people said scale it back another 50% and you're good to go I mean I know the whole pre you know 2019 cars trucks SUVs were high and they were escalating but then they took this big jump and people are not okay with that so I think what needs to happen is a little bit more aggressive incentives a little bit more relook at some of the price adjustments and obviously relook at obviously the the the entire new lineup for 2025 the Jeeps you know whether it's a compass or Wrangler or whether it's the Rams they need to relook at the prices on that and they need to make further adjustments people aren't people are hungry they don't have the money these days I mean people are just trying to eat it's the whole cost of living crisis that's getting getting out of control right now I mean look at these trucks there's no shortage of trucks here to choose from and you could pretty much pick any color make model size you name it they've got it but that's just it that's the problem and that's truly what I truly believe why Ram is leading the charge to this truck crisis in the fact because they're not necessarily following the same set of rules from my perspective anyhow and they're actually just playing these games and they're more or less just following the es and the flows of the market adjusting as needed but they're not necessarily saying look no we're committing I don't see signage like I said I don't even see signs anywhere that says there's Truck Sales when I go over to GM I do see that now that doesn't instill good faith good trust I don't have um I don't have a lot of faith in that personally and so I think a lot of buyers are in the same boat so I just want to share with this with you my perspective I think what's going on with ram I think is not good in my opinion because they're not really sticking to their guns they're not playing the game that everybody's willing to play and that's let's seriously seriously relook at the pricing on these vehicles because they were far higher than most people can tolerate right now yes maybe they're trying to cater to that top 1% I don't know but if that's what it is well they'll get their luck but you know what at the end of the day they're not going to sell enough Vehicles if they can't move the products even with good margins which they've been focusing on by the way are vehicles with bigger margins fully loaded features bigger engine configurations those are the vehicles that they've been more gravitating to selling and they've been trying to pitch away all their smaller junkier Vehicles because and a lot of Manufacturers are doing that because the margins aren't there and they have to sell a lot more Vehicles so this is what's happening right now Ram is leading the charge in terms of you know playing different games in my mind they really need to think about their pricing and get that adjusted accordingly so it will be interesting to see what the final price tag looks like for a lot of these Ram trucks and we'll be sure to share that with you in upcoming weeks but the reality is even at $70,000 for this R it promised to be a significant price tag to get your hands on a 6cylinder pickup truck so time will tell what the rest of them go for I mean if a person just wants a basic four-door four-wheel drive pickup truck hey we'll see what that prices are all about and that's what people are looking for simple technology robust drivetrains and competitively priced trucks and a Sprinkle and a dab of reliability which has clearly been missing in a lot of late model trucks from Ram GM Ford whove all had their struggles and the reliability game is a big problem that they all need to solve and with all of that said maybe you want to look at something a little different Toyota right there is starting to scare the pants off of ram GM as well as Ford with the fullsize trucks that they're rocking you definitely want to see that video talk all about it hope to see each and every one in the next one we'll see you real soon bye-bye
