The restrictions was part of what made this rally so insane. The engines weren't that big, but there were no restrictions on boost, so you could turbocharge or supercharge the engine as much as you wanted. That could result in huge turbo lag, which meant that sometimes the engine would hit the sweet spot and suddenly accelerate really fucking hard. Imagine that going into a corner with either the audience or a huge drop on the outside of the corner.
They are all Nuts: Drivers and fans alike. Fun to watch on TV though. ;)
Brb, gonna go thrash a 205 T16 around Finland on Dirt 3.
The reason it ended was because of safety issues with the audience? I watched a few more videos and saw a lot of people intentionally playing chicken with the cars. Guessing something bad happened.
