Nothing like Group B will ever exist again. Most insane race now is Isle of Man TT, but that's bikes.
If group b had continued we would probably have some wild cars today.

About 20 years ago, I had a modified Renault 5 Turbo with a 4 inch straight through exhaust.
That thing was hilarious, it weighed about as much as a rollerskate, and had approx 160bhp out of its 1.4 turbo. Used to drive like it was on rails and would get to 60mph in about 5 seconds if you launched it right (if you failed your launch it was closer to 10 because of the HUUUUUUUUUUUGE turbo lag).
It also used to shoot 3ft long flames out of the exhaust on overrun, and it crackled and popped just like a true Group B. There was literally no way to drive it quietly. It used to be a nightmare for setting off car alarms in multi-storey car parks.
Nothing sounds like those Audi big turbo 5cyl engines, best sounding engine in history in my opinion.
Angry little engines. Love it.
God those Lancias are so fucking sexy. I miss that brand.
