Oh oh man my toast is ruined if you've got a common hyper flame stove seems like this is probably all too familiar but I'll show you a quick and easy fix to solve this problem [Music] what's up guys we're back in the garage again today for another episode of the workshop series it's a pretty good day to burn the garage too because I got the worst storm in about five years rolling in this afternoon can already see those clouds coming across anyway today we're going to be tackling a pretty common tweak for the calm and hyper flame stove and that's adjusting these burners to gain more control over the temperature whenever these cookers get mentioned online every second comment is always someone saying that you can't set the flame low and that 100% correct so let me show you what I mean so I've already done what we're going to be running through today to this left-hand burn up so we can do a before and after comparison right now alrighty so I haven't done anything at all to this right-hand burner and watch when I try and set the flame down really low it just doesn't want to stay there and it keeps jumping up to a higher flame and I can even feel that feedback through the knob itself it's like it's on a spring that wants to just keep putting it back to a higher flame so that's pretty much as low as I can get it and that's way too high for simmering compare that to the left-hand side that I've done this tweak too and you'll see that I can adjust that flame down really really really low and it doesn't have any problems and when I let go of the knob it doesn't change one bit that's the way it should be and that's the way hopefully this right-hand burn is going to turn out once you do this tweak alrighty so you really only need four basic tools to do this job you're gonna need something to prise the knobs off the front of the cooker I'm gonna be using this panel removing tool but a flathead screwdriver would work just the same you're gonna need either an adjustable spanner or a pair of pliers and that's just to undo one nut on the front of the cooker you're gonna need some paper towel or a cloth to wipe off the old grease room from inside and you'll need some form of lubricant so I was going to use silicon spur but I just ran out so I'm gonna be using in ox but any form of lubricant should do the trick and that's all you need so let's get to it okay so first things first you want to make sure your gas bottles turned off and you're going to want to disconnect your gas hose from your cooker just to be safe next grab your screwdriver or panel removing tool and gently prise the knob off the front of the cooker [Music] next grab your pliers and you want to just undo that small nut on the front of the cooker there [Music] and put that somewhere safe now grab your knob and put it back on because this is going to be used to unscrew that stem the whole way so you want to go left as if you're turning cooker on but then just keep on going once you've unscrewed at the whole way it will come out the front and you'll be able to see all that old grease that come and put in which is causing the problem so now you want to take your paper towel and just give that a wipe over okay make sure that's nice and clean now you can take your lubricant of choice and just give that a nice coating like so and that's literally all there is to it so now we can go ahead and put it all back together again [Music] [Applause] [Music] all righty so she's all back together I'm gonna hook up the gas hose again and I guess we'll see we've made any difference so I've taken that wind deflector off again just to make it a bit easier to see the flame and let's see what happens when we try and adjust this down nice and low now look at that unreal not only does it let us set that flame so much lower for look at that barely on it's flickering but when I let go it doesn't spring back at all we can set up as low as we want and it's gonna stay exactly where it is when you take your hand off a knob unreal that was literally a two minute job that anyone can do and makes these cookers so much better to live with on a daily basis anyway guys thanks for watching I'm gonna make a bit of breakfast now without burning my toast and I'll catch you guys in the next one [Music] [Music] you
