Quick card

hi friends Renee Keys here with Carolina creative and another quick idea for how to make a card that doesn't take a lot of stamping and you might be able to use some of the pretty papers that you have on hand I'm going to work with one of the free sets of paper that's available right now through the celebration special so with a $50 purchase you could pick this set of paper it's called flight and ay and these are just a couple of the gorgeous uh bird prints that are in this set let me show you a few more of these and I'm going to show you what I'm going to do with these there's lots of flowers lots of birds just really really colorful so I I picked a background paper and then I'm going to work with this with the big birds because what you're going to find is you can cut these out instead of having to stamp a bird like this it'll look like it's stamped but you can cut this out so I'm going to do that in just a minute and show you how I'm going to put this together I picked a card base in balmy blue um I think it it coordinates nice with the birds I pulled out another sheet of paper and just punched an oval in it now this you can see kind of has a grid pattern and after I did this and started looking at it I thought oh I could have simply picked another color of paper and run it through the embossing machine and that would have been equally cute when you see how I put this together I'm then taking just a small square of um one of these sheets of designer paper and I'm going to do a peekaboo window you're going to see how I'll put this together so that the birds are peeking out and then we're going to do something else so I'm going to flip the camera down so you can see what I'm doing and we'll get started here so what I'm going to do first is go ahead and cut out bird I think that's the best place to start there's one in the corner here that I think will work for what I want to do so I'm just going to cut this out and just what we call fussy cut I'm just going to with a pair of snips go around the bird sometimes it's nice to leave a little white Edge sometimes you don't I'm going to start with the white Edge and I may find I want to take as much of that out as possible the other issue is because he's got these cute little feet you can't cut around all that so I'm going to have to let the feet show and so that if somebody's really looking closely they'll be able to figure out that this was cut out instead of stamped but that's okay um so you see how quickly this is going to come together I've got the cute little bird I'm going to Accent his beak and get rid of that little piece there you have it yeah I can keep him in one place there he is cute he she cute little bird uh what I wanted to do was I've already punched a couple of sentiments I was trying to play around with what I was going to do one says love and big hugs one says Happy Mother's Day they coordinate with my Blues here I used the uh sending Smiles dyes because that's where I got this cute little shape this could simply be a rectangle with a little um angled Edge that would work just as well and it's very easy I do like the shape it's just kind of fun so I grabbed it because because it was available so what I'm going to do is go ahead and assemble this and I think I want to angle this as I put this together I want this bird over just a little bit so I'm going to angle this and you can see it's not quite at the it's not going to square up but it doesn't matter I'm just going to glue this together so I'm going to cut off that edge and when I do that I've just had another idea here we go I've cut it just enough to let what I want to peek through so now I'm going to glue this down and I think the way to do this is I'm going to put the glue on the back of my grid now you see there's another design here I'm going to put it on the back of this so that I can hold it over my design here and get this positioned where I want think I want it um it's all according to what you want to peek through I like the idea that that flower up there is going to show through it's just part of another bird gives me a little room to work um so there I've got this part assembled this is going to go onto my card base so I'm just going to go ahead and adhere that um I'm going to put glue on the edges here and the corners and make sure I've got this other piece glued down as well I could have grabbed my stamping seal it just wasn't handy oh there it is it is right here uh the liquid glue was just in front of me so I grabbed it okay so let me Square this up you can see I'm just going to do this visually with the Grid it's pretty easy put that on so now I have two tones of blue I have Birds peeking through I have another bird I'm going to put him on top somewhere over here I think and now I'll have to decide uh where I'm going to put my sentiment I'm actually leaning toward putting the love and big hugs on the front because then on the inside I have more flexibility I could make this a birthday card it could be a sympathy card it could even be a Mother's Day card um and you see I've got another cute little bird here I'm going to cut out the bird and the leaf and the flower because I just made a Spur ofth the- moment decision that I want to put this inside my card I was again out of the uh sending Smiles Stamp Set was going to just put a little flow couple flowers in the inside sort of to match what's on the front here so let me do that before I start assembling I'm going to do and then stamp one and then stamp off so I have a light shadowy one me stamp a little that color off there do another little didn't come all the way out another Little Flower there I kind of like that and then I'm going to put the bird over in the corner here um and that leaves me lots of room to write but it also leaves me space to stamp a sentiment on the inside if I choose to do that but for right now uh what I'll do is start assembling I'll go ahead and put this on the inside it's going to be easy to add a sentiment if I want to do that later so let me put my insert in here that blue is almost light enough to get away with not putting a white insert but I do tend to like to put this on the inside let me get the bird here it's going to look like he was stamped in there but he's not put him drawn toward the edge oh he's just so sweet put him there I think I'm going to glue my love and big hugs flat and I may pop the bird right off the page we'll see and now because I've got the grid here I can get this lined up very easily and while it's wet I can slide it around just a little bit okay so now my dimensionals y I put them away in the drawer I'm trying to keep my workspace tidier and so I'm putting things away after I use them so here are the dimensionals I'm going to put enough on here to give him some support because it's not card stock it is just uh paper I'm going to make sure that there's plenty of support behind it uh to keep him uh popped up off the page I might even put some little of these minis behind his feet and his little tail feather here to make sure that that stays supported too yeah I think that's going to hold him now I've got one over the other I had a half of one here and I'm trying to use it on the little piece right there okay let me grab my tool pop these off those of you that have been watching me don't know I don't always pop with this I use my fingernails more than anything just because they're handy okay got them off they didn't go flying everywhere and now I just need to decide where to put my bird he's kind of cute right there and I think I'm going to put just a touch of wink aella on him I'm going to give the burle I guess maybe all the birds I like that he's just a little different too his coloring but the blue on all the birds I think I'm going to give a little Shimmer here yeah I like your chests too okay now what I may do before um I'm all said and done I could put a bow on here I could I could keep it simple I could put a few rhinestones but I'm I'm I'm thinking I kind of like the simple look here and yeah that's a card so there we have it quick easy I didn't even do a lot of stamping I did the sentiment and I did a few flowers on the inside um I could now that I see this if I wanted to closely match the flowers on the front I'm going to put a little yellow in the middle here just to there we go silly me just wanting it to look similar uh but that was quick there's a card I can add a sentiment if this make very well become a sympathy card if I need it or a Mother's
